Magic Bands are live on DME!

We did not receive an email but we booked through a travel agent- would she have received the email if we were chosen. We are staying at AKL starting 8/17.

for past testing yes travel agents were contacted to let them know if any of their clients were chosen to participate. From reading other threads if you are staying at AKL you should be able to go on disneyworld.com log in and choose magic bands, FP+ options. The unknown is if you don't get the email to participate will it be honored
 
Well problem solved. It appears they assigned my daughter's ticket to me and my friends daughter's ticket to here. My travel agent was on the phone with Disney for an hour and now it is fixed and I can book fastpasses for the kids :)
 
Did you speak with a tech CM or regular reservations? When I called I said fast pass + to the automated computer when asked the nature of my call and was immediately directed to an operator who answered as "Disney tech support". This person told me unless I received an email I am not part of the test. I'm wondering if conflicting info is between CRO and Disney tech?

I don't know anything about this e-mail stuff , but my account on the DME APP said I had 4 magic bands to customize I had a message that I am receiving these MagicBands as part of a qualifying reservation or purchase, so I customized my bands. I also checked on the DME web sight and my magic band order is there. if IT is correct then my DME account should not have 4 magic bands added to it I did not add them myself they where there, I just customized them so I would get stuck with the grey ones. One more thing, Disney hasn't fixed the problem yet even though they are getting lots of calls. This is very confusing

I wonder how many people are in the same boat as me. Anybody staying at Pop in August where the magic bands magically showed up on their MDE accounts . If this was a mistake there is going to be a lot of upset people next month.
 
We are staying at CR Aug. 21-25. I was just able to customize our bands on MDE but not able to select Fastpass+ times as our reservation is RO (purchased UT tickets seperately). Isn't it possible that we will be sent the bands to use as our room key and purchase medium, but still use our UT paper tickets for entry and to acquire standard FP?? IT said that was the case. We will still have bands, just not access to FP+.

I am staying at Pop and just got the e-mail. However, my reservation is somewhat complicated as I will be there on a Cast Member discount (my son is a cast member). When I went in and tried sign up I used my personal log in and the reservation # and it told me the reservation was in my son's name and would not let me get any further. So I was able to contact him and he gave me his log on info but again it did not let us get any further then telling us the reservation was in his name. He is going to call the number listed and see if he can get it straighten out. We have annual passes (well I do, he doesn't as he has his CM entry to the parks) so I have no idea how the fast pass will work out. We are on the counter service dining plan and he felt that is why we were picked to be part of the Magic Band Testing.
 
I'm staying offsite and have my tickets linked. I have the links/images for FP+ & Magic Bands, but when I click on it, I'm not able to do anything with it. So it seems just be placeholder for when it goes live. I wonder what the price will be and hope I don't regret joining a photoshare, since i've already paid my portion. That was going to be my way to get it for "free," if the difference from buying them separately makes sense. I'm still really nervous about the whole thing, and I'm not confident it will be a good experience if it is public by my trip, since the test are just a few weeks earlier.

I believe it was tech support. I recall chosing an option for technical support.
 
Is anyone staying at Kidani in August on DVC points able to do Fastpass+ and Magic Bands?

It's not a mistake. You will get an email and an over-nighted UPS official invitation when you are 17 days out from your arrival date.

I am glad thank you for the info. We are 31 days out, but today was the last day to customize the magic bands for me I think it is because we live in Canada. I did my magic bands yesterday just in case.
 
My trip starts 8/17 at Animal Kingdom Lodge. I was able to customize my magic bands for all of us but only book Fastpass for only two members of my party. I can't book any for the kids.

I was able to figure out that my kids acct was not linked to our package. Once I linked it I am able to copy my FP+ reservations to my kids. Which may all be for not if I don't receive an email!

another small update...We are 19 days out, and this evening the status of my MB's changed from "Hurry! your order may ship at any moment" to "Your MagicBands are being processed and will ship soon."

I have not received any communication that we are part of the test yet - and IT insisted it was just a mistake they were working on fixing 2 days ago. Until I hear otherwise, I'm assuming we are part of the testing and have booked some FP+ selections.

I did it from the MDE website.

I'm from Canada and at work right now (Canadians don't have access to the MDE website, but I can get it at home on my ipad).

But looking at the MDE app on my phone:

Under My Accounts, go to Friends and Family...click on your child's name...you should see a section that says your child's reservations...under resort reservations you may see that your reservation is not there....on that same screen, scroll down and there should be a "Don't see your reservation?" button. Add it here. Hope that helps!

Hmmmm when I played around it says none of us have magic bands. Even though it let me make FP+ ressies for me and DH.
