Magic Bands are live on DME!

I think the difference might be that I was able to customize a band, was told it was going to ship to me, and now under my profile it shows that my party has bands attached to our reservations. Our tickets are now attached to that band. However, if I'm not an actual tester, then that band never actually existed, and when it disappears, it takes my linked tickets with it.

The CM's say to wait until you get the email before you customize bands or make FP+ reservations, but when you log onto MDE and it tells you to customize your band and today is the last day to do it, what do they think people are going to do? :confused3 Maybe -- and here's a revolutionary thought -- if they didn't want people to sign up before they got an email they shouldn't have made the system live to everyone!

Oh my freaking YES!!!!

I was simply signing up for photopass + and saw a LARGE POPUP on my screen...

And this is from a wife of a DH who's job just implemented an ENTIRE SYSTEM REWRITE over the weekend...yeah, if you don't want customers (all or some) accessing it, then DON'T GO LIVE!!!!

I am so annoyed with this right now.

I honestly wouldn't get stressed right now. This am I only had dh and my ticket on our DME. These were purchased with package and were always there. When I did the entire magic band thing nothing changed my girls tickets were still not showing. But also said my 2 kids weren't eligible for magic bands. I just went in to check and magical my girls tickets are there now. I never called, no email etc. If I get them I do. If not oh well.

I can understand the frustration with "lost in space" tickets and MB FP+ ressies for those who may have gone ahead and started planning. But honestly, why is anyone pressing buttons that may not work?

Especially those here? All I hear about when debating FP v FP+ is how "90% of the guests are not like us" and "generally uninformed" and "we are the commandos". And since its inception there have been BILLIONS of questions surrounding MB.

we all should have known that MB testing is still going on. Heck we even know the dates and resorts of the next round. Why tempt fate and start booking things if you do not fall in that category? Email or not, at least call guest services and confirm the MB functionality first?

That said.... What Dis SHOULD have done is put the functionality behind a protected firewall. And sent out passwords with the email to those eligible guests. That way, only those guests would be able to access the system.

What are the dates and resorts of the next test?

The whole thing is really curious. There was no report of widespread access during the first big guest magicband testing. That's what makes me suspicious of the whole "even if you can access it, it may not mean you're a part of the test". If they were able to control access before why would they not be able to control access now? I went ahead and customized my magicbands and made FP+ reservations. They're not going to deny me the tickets I paid for, so it really shouldn't matter if I don't end up with the magicbands after all. I am booked at YC during the testing phase, so I feel like I have a 50/50 shot and nothing to lose by trying.

I will say, however, that there was NOTHING about the process that made me suspicious that it wouldn't work. I was able to customize magicbands for myself, dd and dh plus my parents whose reservation I linked to ours a while ago. No errors, no redirects, took everything the first time, etc. I was able to book FP+ for us. Interestingly, it did limit me to picking FP+ for only 2 days for my parents as they only have 2 day passes. It said if I chose more FP+ for them, they'd lose some of their other FP+ reservations. If I had just logged on like normal and was not on disboards, I would have NO IDEA that there potentially could be a problem. None.

I'm also curious for those that got the email, was there someplace that you were supposed to enter a code or something? Because there was just no place that you'd even enter a code during all my poking around and customizing.
Yes I agree with this.:thumbsup2 I fell the same way, nothing to lose. I have been misinformed by cm's on multiple occasions. If I can access FP+ and customize my magicbands on MDE then you bet I am. Now I will wait and see if my magicbands show up in the mail.::yes::

Agreed. On top of that, do we have any confirmations from anyone who did receive this alleged email? Surely someone on here would have received it.

I had zero problems with the process, and every indication is that it is legit. It shows up perfectly fine, it prompted me to do it, it helped me through the process, etc. Says they're shipping soon, etc.

I booked with a travel agent so i did not get am email but I stumbled on the magic bands on the Disney website. Today was my last day to customize my bands and i did. I dont know if it went through because I think my travel agent will get the email. Is there a way to tell if it went through on the website. I am staying at the YC starting 1Aug 16.

I also call Disney before I ordered to ask a bunch of questions and the wonderful CM told me (but I did not hear it from him) that I would also get a KTTW card and would be able to FP+ as well as traditional FP.

Think you need that email saying your part of the test.

You can check the status of your magic band order here:

https://disneyworld.disney.go.com/plan/bands-cards/

It is also distinctly possible that all of the CM's who have been saying you had to get an email simply are repeating the message from the first test? Maybe they haven't been notified? I don't know.

What's more likely - that the CM's have old information, or that Disney accidentally went live too early and still haven't corrected it despite what I'm sure have been hundreds of calls about it?

I got the email today. It said I was selected to participate in the testing of the magic bands, and listed the benefits (although, I have my doubts about any real benefits to FP+). It also listed step by step instructions for setting it up and ordering them & says I have until July 23rd to decide (probably due to shipping needs). It mentions something about providing them with feedback about it after the trip.

I didn't see any kind of pin code.

We booked a package room/tickets. I wonder if they will automatically link my tickets at some point ( we are now after 60 days) or if I can call and get them linked OR if I should just let it be.

Was there any 'code' included in the email?

Disney knows how to customize site content depending on who is viewing it. If they didn't want you to have access to specific features of the site I find it hard to believe they would f it up so bad and still have it accessible.

Why wouldn't they have fixed their supposed error by now.? My status still says my mb's have shipped or will ship shortly to me or my resort. Will be interesting to see what happens.

Same here. And all my fastpass+ selections are listed under the dates when I'm staying. Could it be that EVERYONE who is staying at the select resorts on the select dates could access those screens? I'm not a computer person but that is really a big screw up. Like a pp said, they could've given out a password to the "select" people who they e-mailed instead of letting everyone have access.

I called the other night because I wanted to link old tickets we have (from February) to our upcoming trip in December. Every time I tried it said the tickets were already assigned and I had to call:headache:

The IT person made some "hmmmm" noises and put me on hold quite a bit and basically ended up telling me she couldn't figure out what was going on but that I didn't need to link my tickets at this time and that the only people who did need to link tickets were those who were contacted by email for the Magic Band testing. She specifically said if you didn't get the email then don't worry about it.
Doesn't change the fact that I am worried about it because my account is still showing I have tickets linked for a trip in August that I cancelled, and it says I am leaving in 48 days even though I cancelled and I can't link the tickets for the trip I do have booked. The whole thing is still a mess and I don't care what they have to do as long as it's fixed by December or I won't be a happy camper.

For those of you getting emails about the Magic Bands.... how far out from your trip were you when you received the email? Just curious.:thumbsup2

Just wondering where everyone is finding magic bands on their reservation. I look up mine but don't see any where about the bands. Very confusing any help would be great. Our trip s in sept.
