Macaroni and cheese and hot dogs??

Dh says he wants macaroni and cheese with hot dogs in it for dinner. I've never heard of such a thing Is this some sort of casserole?? What else goes in it? That can't be it

I've heard of it. I even know of one DISer who probably drizzles the juice over it.

We make macaroni and cheese and then add cut up hot dogs to it.

Wow, your DH wants that? My kids request it, but not DH. When I serve that for dinner, he makes his own. Kids, what can you do? In your case...big kid.

I just put cut up hotdog in Mac and cheese and they love it.

My MIL used to make hot dog noodle mish mosh for DH and BIL when they were kids. I've never made it (can't stand hot dogs), but it sounds like a kid-friendly dish. Definite comfort food.

Yup - the kids have had it before, but they prefer hamburger meat in their mac n cheese.

The hot dogs taste better in the baked beans!

I don't know about mixing the two. But tonight I'm boiling up sme weenies for the kids, with mac and cheese on the side. I don't know what would happen if the two were to mix. It might be as skeevie as drizzling the juice over it or something.

I babysat a 11yo and a 6yo and this is exactly what they wanted for dinner. They cut up the hot dogs and mixed them in the mac and cheese??? Whatever, it was easier than the bbq I was going to do.

Oh my kids love this. I only make it for them, not for the family. It's a quick easy kid meal. DH would never eat it.

I had a friend that used to do it like that. While I agree it's kid friendly, possibly comfort food, I wouldn't eat it. Mac and cheese alone (homemade) is pretty good stuff tho!

I must've missed that one. The other day I was resting on the couch and the kids got into the hot dogs. I was suddenly squirted with something wet. Turns out the little one was flinging around the empty hot dog package and got the juice on me.

No kids at home anymore, but I still make it once in awhile for DH and I.

We always had mac n cheese and then the hot dog on a bun. Mom would sometimes cut the hot dog so it looked like a little person and the give it a face with ketchup. Maybe I should just stop there...lol
We always had applesauce too and mixed the the two sides together. Never tried putting hot dogs mixed with the mac n cheese though. I only mixed hot dogs with Spaghetti O's!!

I've never made it with hotdogs (though I have heard of people doing that). I like to make it with cubed ham slices. I know it's crazy, but I only like Kraft Macaroni and Cheese - I don't like the home made kind. I just make Kraft like regular, add in the cubed ham, and bake it at 350 for about half an hour. Sometimes I'll add tuna instead of ham.
