Small World Pics That Probably Should Have Just Been a Video - Sat May 24, 2025 (part 11)
I really probably should have just taken a video of Small World, but instead, you get a bunch of stills. Sorry! This post is also just Small World pics.
Jiminy Cricket there on the side!
I loved seeing Hercules representation.
Hulk and Groot!
Mushu from Mulan as a kite dragon!
I love that Groot is growing flowers out of his head.
Small World Continues! - Sat May 24, 2025 (part 12)
You'd think this would be the last post of Small World pics, but no! Worth it though - with the Groot overlay this is hands down the best Small World.
I love this one - I think it may be another one of my favorites - Antman and the Wasp but they're small, we have to see them through the magnifying glass
From Groot to Pinocchio! - Sat May 24, 2025 (part 13)
And yet more - honestly I love this ride theming so much.
Moana!
I love this suitcase so much, with all the stickers from Groot's travels.
Groot is on the kite!
Anyways, that's Small World with Groot! Honestly, super cute. Unless you hated the pictures in which case, sorry.
Next up, we decided to go ride Pinocchio, cause it was 1. right there and 2. a 15 minute wait. I do love the little murals at the beginning of these older dark rides:
And exactly 15 minutes after getting in line, we were boarding!
The goldfish and the cat on the ride!
The ride was cute, though pretty much the same as Disneyland. The only really difference I noticed was that the ride vehicle seemed to go waaaaaaaaay fast. Also, I tried to film the Blue Fairy effect - not quite sure I got it. Oh well!
At this point it was right before 5 pm, and Trevor was starting to flag pretty hard. We had a mobile order for popcorn for about 10 minutes later, so we started meandering over to The Big Pop, but ducking into gift shops. And even the gift shops are themed!
I loved this mural in the gift shop - so fancy!
Also love this picture of Mickey fighting a dragon...or the dragon helping Mickey with target practice?
Then, our popcorn! There are a ton of different popcorn buckets at the resort, and there is one shop in Tokyo Disneyland where they have all the buckets, so you can get the one you want (instead of having to go to the one popcorn cart in the park that has the bucket you want). I placed a mobile order at the beginning of the day cause I didn't want to wait in line but I needn't - the line was pretty short when we got there. Oh well! What popcorn bucket was I getting?
Monsters Inc!
Look Boo's mask opens up! And a lot of those doors on the front open up as well. Just super cute.
And because I mobile ordered, I wasn't able to tell them not to put the popcorn in the bucket...oh well!
We got the strawberry napolean popcorn flavor. Not sure how to describe it - it tasted like strawberry but a bit of a cream flavor too? Dunno. It was good though - we liked it.
We then ducked into the Baymax shop, cause it was right there. We didn't buy anything, but....
LOL. I tried to convince Trevor to buy it but no dice.
At this point we split up - Trevor to head back to the hotel and rest a bit, and me to look around in the shops. I actually was gonna try and head over to a particular ice cream stand in Adventureland that had a peach/raspberry ice cream that I wanted (the app said it was the only stand that had it) but it closed 20 minutes before I got there. Oh well! I figured I'd head into World Bazaar and look at the shops. Though on the way I passed some fun window displays.
Mickey waffles!
As I headed into the main area of the World Bazaar though, I saw Peter Pan out and about meeting with guests! So I made my way over to the crowd congregated around him. The way character meet and greets work there is that there's not a line, but rather just a crowd/semi-circle around the character, and the character picks people to interact with. They also speak English (not Japanese), so that was more fun for me to watch. But then, he picked me!
He said my ears were sparkly - with pixie dust! as he said. I had a fun little interaction - he liked my purse, a bag shaped like a book with Peter Pan on the cover. He also tried to teach me how to fly but it didn't quite work. Oops! oh well!
Props to the character attendant taking my picture, who got the castle framed right there in the center. So that was a fun little magical experience - just too bad Trevor missed it!
Minnie is Apparently an Excellent Seamstress - Sat May 24, 2025 (part 15)
Anyways, bye Peter!
The energy of these characters man...I just can't fathom it.
As I kept walking, I ran into Belle!
She was wrapping up so I didn't get a chance to meet her, but still fun to see her out and about.
Then I was wandering in and out of shops though it was all a bit overwhelming. The theming though was still awesome -
Minnie won awards for designing dresses for Belle and Aurora.
Mermaid couture! My favorite part was the pictures though -
They're testimonials from those folks to Minnie for her sewing expertise. And then Tinkerbell right there!
At that point, I decided to head over to the hotel and meet up with Trevor and rest up a bit before heading back into the park (I wanted to see the nighttime parade!). I guess I was more tired than I thought since Trevor and I had only split up like 30 minutes before.
Pretty!
More pictures I saw on the walls in the halls as I headed to our room:
And then, I made it to our room!
Loooooots of room pictures - I'll need another post!
Sink area, with all the freebies there on the right side.
Those cups and tins are to take home! And yes we definitely did.
One one side was the room with the toilet - I love the rose on the door:
Sorry for the blurry picture - it's a pretty uneventful toilet.
And then on the other side, the wet room.
So this whole room is basically a shower/designed to get wet. The shower is just off to the left there, outside of the tub. We thought it was weird at first, but by the end of the trip, we (especially me) were in LOVE with the whole wetroom concept. A+. I want one.
Ok, then back into the room! There was a little closet:
Slippers there at the bottom to use and take home.
Then a little alcove with the coffee pot:
I really liked the Beauty and the Beast concept art there.
Two double beds.
There was also a little alcove area that I think is meant to serve as another bed.
Trevor was relaxing on it while I was taking pictures.
Little table/chairs there by the window, and our park view there!
On the table they had these for us:
Turned out to be Tokyo Disneyland Hotel reusable bags -
How fun! Super cute.
That view though - gorgeous. I was very happy we decided to switch to a park view. So pretty! And when we cracked open the window we could hear the park entrance music loop, which made it even better.
Honestly, a great room. A bit twee - but I liked it.
Castle picture on the headboard.
Madame Grande Bouche in the tv cabinet.
And the ceilings were even kind of vaulted!
I also turned on the TV just to see -
I was hoping it may do something like the other parks but no. Still cute though.
We crashed on the beds for a bit, just kind of resting, and then about 45 minutes later (6:45 ish), we got up and got ready to head back into the park.
Even prettier at night!
It had started raining a bit while we were in the room, but I was still hoping the night parade would run, so off we went.
More hotel hallway theming. I think those are the squirrels from The Sword in the Stone.
Dinner and Nightfall Glow - Sat May 24, 2025 (part 18)
So the plan was for Trevor to go find a spot to watch the parade, and I mobile ordered food for us from Tomorrowland Terrace and went to pick it up. It was pretty fast, which was nice. And one of the many nice things about Tokyo Disney is that they have paper trays/containers for you to take your food in "to go", vs having to carry around the plastic tray, so I could get the food all packed up and go meet Trevor on the parade route. Luckily the rain had calmed down a bit, and we had bought (well I had bought) a parade mat so we put that on the wet bench and had a dry place to sit.
First, mickey chicken nuggets!
Sorry for the blurry picture. These were good, but with a slightly weird texture. Would have been better with ketchup but I forgot to ask for some and ketchup isn't just out for folks to grab.
Then the Baymax burger! Meat Patty, Teriyaki Chicken, Onion-Mayonnaise Filling
This was super cute, obvs, and good, except for being a bit weird with a meat patty and then a piece of chicken on top of the burger. The chicken was just weirdly unnecessary. After a few bites we pulled the chicken off and enjoyed the rest.
And then for a drink: Sparkling Jelly Drink with Strawberry and Butterfly Pea.
Love the tumbler, love the drink. No notes.
Sadly the parade was canceled cause it was lightly raining, so instead we got the mini parade "Nightfall Glow" instead. According to the website, when "Tokyo Disneyland Electrical Parade Dreamlights" is canceled due to rain, the mini parade "Nightfall Glow" will be presented instead. I was kind of excited to see it, actually, as long as I also got to see the Dreamlights parade sometime during our trip.
It was a cute little parade.
Cute, and I liked the soundtrack as well.
We wanted to stay for the nighttime show "Reach for the Stars", but that wouldn't happen until 8:55, and it was only 7:45 pm. And since it had started raining again, we decided to go ride Pirates of the Caribbean, cause it was only a 5 minute wait.
And it was indeed a walkon.
Pirates, Aliens, and Fireworks - Sat May 24, 2025 (part 19)
I love maps -
On the ride we went, and I had no idea pirates had so many animatronics! There were SO MANY. I also forgot they still had the bride auction which was fine until the next scene when there were 4 turntables of 4 pirates chasing 4 crying women around—that was not my favorite though again who knew that had that many animatronics/effects that were supposed to be there! I don’t remember ever seeing that many at Disney world, maybe one and then the woman chasing the pirate with a broom (the 5th turntable here at Tokyo)
This was another ride where we were moving super fast. Also I didn’t get a picture but dirty foot pirate dude has an animatronic parrot with him!
After Pirates we went back to the hub for the nighttime show. It was raining pretty steadily then, so we just resigned to being a bit wet as we waited the 30 min. We got a decent spot though, on the left of the castle. While we were waiting they did their fireworks show which is like 3 min and nothing to write home about.
I did feel a little bit bad cause Trevor had gone over to one of the Tomorrowland restaurants to pick us up some alien mochi while we waited!
and of course had to get the super cute little souvenir alien mochi case.
It had gotten more crowded while he was gone so I was a bit worried he wouldn't be able to make it back to me but he did, and then we had spoils!
Super cute.
These do live up to the hype - super cute and very tasty.
Then the show! Luckily it stopped raining about 5 min before so everyone put away their umbrellas. This was a projection show (though afterwards they announced it was presented in a modified format so not sure what is different when it’s not raining. *shrugs*) —it was neat, a long Hercules sequence and Dumbo too, and no Frozen at all! Kind of surprising . Trevor and I both independently thought the projection mapping here isn’t as good as back home, but still fun.
With the show over, time to make our way out of the park, with the crowd. We did stop to grab a quick picture -
Trevor's basically all time favorite ride.
But about 5 min after we left the park, we were in our room. Brilliant.
I opened the window and we could hear the plaza music playing, which was awesome. I love hearing the music loop!
Oh just one more cute theming pic - this is the container the alien mochis come in.
Adorbs.
Anyways, that was our day one! It was a great first taste of the resort, and we were loving our room. Tomorrow we had to switch hotels to the Hotel Miracosta, and our vacation package started with unlimited fastpasses, so we were excited for rides, but were also hoping that the weather stayed nice and the crowds stayed low!
Fun with Metrics:
Steps walked: 15564 steps (5.9 miles)
Ride count: 6 (2 monorails, Beauty and the Beast, Small World, Pinocchio, Pirates)
Happy Entry to Tokyo Disneyland! - Sunday May 25, 2025 (part 1)
So today was the start of our vacation package! Because we'd picked up the package stuff the day before, we had our tickets and everything so we were all set. We did the 2 day 1 night Unlimited vacation package: it included one day at Disneyland, one day at DisneySea, and then unlimited fastpasses for rides that have fastpasses, a "ticket" for unlimited beverages, a "ticket" for unlimited popcorn, and then the "original goods" ticket. I'd read online and made sure we each had a lanyard so we could wear our fastpasses/unlimited beverage and popcorn tickets. We were ready!
Because we stayed at Tokyo Disneyland Hotel, we had Happy Entry to Disneyland: Happy Entry gets you into the park 15 minutes before it opens, which isn't really a huge advantage except for the fact that you can't book fastpasses or anything til you get into the park, so if you get in 15 min early you get an advantage on the fastpasses you can book. They don't usually run rides before the park actually opens so you can't ride early, but you can rope drop the popular rides and be near the front of the line when it opens for the day. Since we had the unlimited fastpass vackation package I wasn't necessarily planning on doing Happy Entry, but the jet lag caught both of us and we were both up pretty early (like around 7 am). So with the park opening at 9, we had plenty of time to pack up, get ready and do happy entry. So that was the plan!
Monorail! And it's the Duffy monorail!
I opened up the window so we could hear the entrance loop music and it was just a lovely soundtrack as we packed up and got ready.
I just love this rose on the the bathroom door.
We were staying at the Hotel Miracosta tonight, so we needed to pack up and get our luggage moved. I was a little bit worried about the hassle of moving hotels, but they said that we didn't need to move our bags - we could just leave them in the room and they would come pick them up from the room and move them to our new hotel and put them in our room! I was a little worried about it actually working just cause I'm anxious, but I was hopeful. You could checkout on the tv, and that's also how you would tell them how many bags you had and where you wanted them moved:
It was SUPER easy - just selected the number of bags I had and which hotel I wanted it sent to (Hotel Miracosta). It asked me to select a time and I just picked a random time (it ended up not mattering at all), and then done!
We got the bags and everything packed up pretty quickly. By 8:05 we were headed out the door and off to Tokyo Disneyland!
People line up in front of the gates just like in the other parks, but they have a separate sectioned off area for hotel guests who have Happy Entry, which is where we headed. We ended up being about halfway up the plaza, which was pretty decent for being like 8:15 when happy entry started at 8:45. I was hoping that meant it wouldn't be a busy day. It had been raining/sprinkling a bit earlier in the morning but had stopped by the time we got there. We were just chilling on the ground, sitting on a ground mat I'd bought the day before (the Tokyo Disneyland hotel giftshop had good stuff, including a ground mat that was themed like Fantasy Springs so I bought it) - I'm a big fan of these ground mats now. Highly recommend. Also people dress up so much! So many cute Disneybounds and such - this one little girl was dressed as Daisy and was super cute, despite just like staring at me and Trevor.
Our plan for rope drop (since we didn't need to worry about booking fastpasses or ropedropping a big ride, cause unlimited fastpass package! ) was to rope drop the Great American Waffle Company and get waffles for breakfast! I'd read about how the line gets super long for the waffles so I was like hey why not. The only fastpass we wanted to buy was the fastpass for the parade at 1 pm, and then I wanted to do an "entry request"/lottery for the Mickey's Magical Music World show.
They let us in right at 8:45 and by 8:47 we were in the park! By 8:49, we had arrived!
I love this little sign with the metal mickey waffle. We were like 3rd or 4th in line, so not bad at all, even though it wouldn't open until 9 am when the park did.
Also we had awesome fastpass/standby request/entry request luck! I got a great parade spot with our fastpass - Tokyo Disneyland assigns you a spot if you buy the parade fastpass, and we got a front row spot. We also got SUPER lucky and managed to be successful with our entry request for the show! Crazy - I keep hearing all sorts of stories about how hard it is to get into the shows and such, but we got lucky and were successful!
We also were looking to see if there was anything else we should reserve or enter for, and they had a standby pass for Adventureland gachapon machines, so I figured hey why not do that too. So we had stuff lined up really nicely - gachapon at 9:10, Mickey's Magical Music World show at 11, the parade at 1 pm, and then a reservation for the Center Street Coffeehouse at 7:10. I did screw up a little bit - I made the reservation for the Center Street Coffeehouse a few weeks earlier, and I didn't realize that the nighttime parade was at 7:30. womp womp. So I was tentatively planning to have us try and eat earlier (if they could accommodate us) so we could make sure to see the parade. But overall, I was pleased!
We reserved a table and they opened up a few minutes early, so at 9:01, we had waffles!
The waffle was either plain or mango, so we got the mango waffle, with chunks of mango and mango cream. It was good - not like lifechanging but yummy. They clearly made it ahead of time cause it wasn't really warm, but it was still soft. I didn't like the mango cream but I did like the fresh mango. And we each got a carton of milk with our unlimited free beverage tickets - the milk was super cheap, 190 yen, which was about $1.30. Not the best use of a free beverage but I wanted milk. And the line ended up being super long super quickly, so we did good.
We did have a little adventure trying to get cash out of the atms there at the park (which was thankfully right around the corner from the waffle place), cause Trevor forgot his PIN but we weren't 100% sure he'd forgotten it and were like "oh no what if the ATM is like no money for you!" but I remembered my PIN so it all worked out.
And by the time we finished eating, it was time to head over to Adventureland and our capsule toy standby pass. I honestly wasn't super sure what this was, but I saw I had to have a standby pass and the FOMO kicked in so I got it. And also, look at how cute the little fastpass picture is!
All the rides had these adorable little pictures on the fastpasses. I approve.
Over at the Adventureland Bazaar, there was a little bit of a wait - people care about the gachapon! The prizes were these little reusable tote bag things - one had Baymax on it (from Happy Ride with Baymax), one had Big Thunder Mountain on it, one had the gondolas, and one had the magic carpet. Honestly we were more interested in the experience of it vs actually getting a bag, though once we saw the options, we decided we wanted Big Thunder.
Of course we had only just gotten cash bills out of the ATM, and the machine only took coins, but thankfully (and cleverly) there was a coin machine right there. It was fantastically themed too -
A suitcase with all those stickers on it from various places!
I particularly liked this sticker:
Cause I used to work at Hoover Dam (formerly Boulder Dam) one summer.
Each person was allowed four tries at the machine - so 8 total for both Trevor and me. Now this is where I should have taken better notes - I think Trevor went first and got Big Thunder (yay!!!) and then I decided I wanted to try and get Baymax. So I tried:
And got Big Thunder. But then I tried one more time and got Baymax! yay! I'm not usually lucky with these types of things so that was exciting.
Capsule toy experience done, it was time to start riding all the rides! The ride closest to us was Jungle Cruise, so off we went. Trevor was wearing his Jungle Cruise hat, so it seemed fitting. The cast members were waving to us as we came up (5 minute wait!) and the one at the entrance really liked Trevor's hat - she took us to take some pictures at the desk there at the entrance, which was super nice.
Trevor runs the Jungle Cruise!
The ride was totally in Japanese, so we understood exactly none of it, but it was still a fun ride. Lots of animatronics - including different animatronics - and a soundtrack! I don't think Jungle Cruise at DisneyWorld has like an instrumental soundtrack, but it did here.
It would have been better if we'd been able to understand Japanese, but it was still fun looking at the animatronics and the effects in the temple and such.
Next up, the railroad! It was right there and still a 5 min wait, so off we went. The train here doesn't have any other stops - it just goes around and lets you off back where you got on (I heard because if it had other stops they'd have to charge you for it, similar to why they have to charge for the monorail? No idea how true that is though).
Fun view from the platform - all jungle and then, the castle!
Splash Mountain from the train!
The train ride was really neat - giving us some really cool views of Splash, Tom Sawyer Island, Big Thunder Mountain as we rode around.
Dinosaurs!
Real dinos!
I don't tend to ride the railroad very often at Disneyworld but this was fun and interesting.
After the railroad, we were right by the stand that was selling the peach raspberry ice bar that I wanted the day before, so we stopped and got popsicles!
Honestly even the packaging is cute.
These were each about 400 yen, so about $2.50. We couldn't not get the mango Donald Duck lips!
LOL This was good - tasted like mango (like it said) and had a nice creamy texture.
I don't know what I'd describe this flavor as - I don't think I was able to taste either peach or raspberry, but I liked it. I liked it better than the mango flavor of the donald popsicle, but the texture was a lost more icy. Overall, Trevor and I both liked the flavor of the Minnie popsicle best but the texture of the Donald popsicle.
We were heading to Big Thunder Mountain next, but as we walked we passed a popcorn stand with a pretty short line, so we hopped in. Gotta make use of your unlimited popcorns!
It looks long but again compared to what we were expecting/seeing online, it didn't seem bad. AND THEN! It turned out to be:
Curry popcorn! Every stand has a different flavor, and I'd heard good things about this one, so was excited to try it.
Popcorn and popsicle! The popcorn was good too - good flavor, not too overwhelming, and interesting but in a good way. So far we were 2 for 2 on popcorn flavors (the strawberry napolean from yesterday and then the curry).
Mickey's Magical Music World! - Sunday May 25, 2025 (part 4)
Popcorn secured, time for Big Thunder! Big Thunder was closing for refurbishment in a few days, so I was excited that we'd get a chance to experience it. The fastpass line was only about 5 minutes - not too bad at all! We still had our popcorn, so I stuck it in one of the gachapon bags we'd just won (the Big Thunder one, appropriately ).
I honestly don't remember too much about it, so I feel like it was nothing too special - I vaguely remember some fun animatronics and such in the little village section but mostly it was a roller coaster. Disney Paris is still hands down the best Big Thunder. And in case you're curious, the popcorn box only got a little bit squished!
After Big Thunder this is where I screwed up a bit - time to run over to Fantasyland for the show! I'd foolishly entered for the first show of the day for Mickey's Magical Music World, so when we won, it meant that my plan to work our way around the park from the Adventureland side was a bit screwed up. So back across the park we went to watch the show, eating our curry popcorn as we went and discovering that you could kind of make the popcorn box close! This came in handy over the next few days.
Pretty castle picture though. And there's the dragon topiary! In Magic Kingdom its in the water but not here. Also despite the gray sky it wasn't raining, which was nice. Made it not too hot either.
Cute little theatre! We got there earlier than we needed to, but we weren't sure about the timing and such so better early than not. And it did let me take a couple pictures -
Reminded me of the posters in "It's Tough to Be a Bug" - puns on famous shows.
Our seats were in the balcony, 3 rows back. We were on the aisle though, so very close to the center.
There was no filming, which was a bummer - the show had some pretty amazing special effects, especially for a theme park show. A whole pirate ship and such - super cool! I'm sure there's clips on youtube - look it up. The only bummer was that it was solely in Japanese with no subtitles or anything, so we didn't really understand what the plot was, though honestly it was mostly an excuse to sing Disney songs. The songs were sometimes in English and sometimes in Japanese which I didn't understand either. But definitely a good show and one I highly recommend if you're in Tokyo Disneyland.
After the show, we decided to use our fastpass to ride Beauty and the Beast since we were right there.
Fastpass line was way shorter than the standby line from yesterday. After 3 minutes, we were in the pre-show room!
About 10 minutes later (yes, there's about 10 minutes of a wait post-pre show, though there's some great theming where you see the Beast's shadow as he yells at Belle's door, or Mrs Potts and Chip), we were on the ride! This time, I took pictures and filmed a little bit. You start off in the Be Our Guest scene, and it's great!
And all those things on the table aren't there when it first starts- they pop up throughout the scene!
Cogsworth in the jelly - love it.
Still no idea how they do the transformation scene - not a clue!
Off the ride, it was about noon and we were hungry! We placed a mobile order at Huey, Dewey and Louie's Good Time Cafe, which was absolutely the way to go. There was quite a long line to place an order but I'd placed a mobile order an hour or two earlier - though I think (if I'm remembering right) they had pretty immediate mobile order spots available. I'd placed the mobile order ahead of time cause I was worried about crowds but at least today the crowds weren't bad.
The mobile order came pretty quickly, and then at the window where I was picking it up, I was able to get our free special beverages. Yay! And we found a nice table pretty quick, so time to eat!
First up, Trevor got the Fried Fish on Chinese Bun (Cheese & Tomato), but the bun is Donald's feet!
The bun was super soft but held together pretty well - I didn't try it (cause fish) but Trevor said it was good.
I got the Teriyaki Chicken on Chinese Bun (Egg & BBQ Sauce) but the bun being Mickey's hands
The taste of this was good but it fell apart suuuuuuuuper fast/easy. The sauce made the chicken slip/slide around and so it all just fell apart. Tasted decent though.
We also got the Spring Roll (Egg & Shrimp)
This was fine, nothing special, but cute package.
And then the drink!
Sparkling Drink (Tropical Fruits)
It has an adorable duck on top, made of marshmallow. The drink itself was fine - sparkling and sweet and that's basically all I remember. They did recommend we stir it:
Yes Trevor stirred it for a long time - and yes there were mango pieces in it (I think that was mango).
And then last but definitely not least:
This was so good! Chocolate inside with chocolate chips - love it. Overall, a great lunch. I approve. And super cute theming in ToonTown - as we were eating, we saw some characters come out to greet folks near us.
After lunch, the plan was to ride Roger Rabbit's Car Toon Spin:
I thought it had a fastpass line but it did not. The line was posting 15 minutes, and with it being 12:26 and the parade starting at 1 pm, we figured we had just enough time. So into the standby line we went.
The line theming seemed very similar to what I remember of the ride in Disneyland California - still cute!
13 minutes later, we were on the ride!
The ride was fun - not different from what we remembered of the ride at Disneyland CA, though it did seem to be going super fast. No idea if it was or not, since you know, I have nothing to compare it to.
5 min later, we made it to the hub and were checking into our spot for the parade. Some more pics of Donald first though
For some reason I get the feeling that maybe there's a duck (or a mouse?) under that silver cloche there....
Still overcast, but at least it wasn't hot!
We bought the parade fastpass and clearly must have been among the first groups to do so, cause our spots were in the front row and were spots 11 and 12. Pretty nifty! By 1:15, the parade had made it's way to us.
little Kevin babies!
I like the float too, with all the balloons. Honestly, the pictures don't look great but I swear on the day of it didn't look quite this gray.
Merida!
More parade photos.
Rapunzel! This princess sequence was one of my favorites -
Rapunzel basically swings around on her hair!!
And Pocahontas! When do we ever see her in the US parks!
Buzz and Woody riding RC Racer.
Big Hero 6!
Baymax!!
And the princes and princesses dancing together!! So cute.
Overall, a great parade. I wish I hadn't spoiled it for myself so I would have been surprised by everything but it was awesome to see it all in person, and watch Rapunzel swing around on her hair and all. And the fastpass was probably not necessary, but it was nice for the peace of mind.
After the parade, we were heading towards Splash Mountain, but we passed several carts with no lines, so of COURSE we stopped!
This was....odd. Not our favorite - curry was better. But glad to try it!
We also got the strawberry creme brulee churro:
I actually liked this a lot - the flavor was good and the texture was a bit gummy but I like that undercooked bit.
We also saw a caramel popcorn stand with NO line, so we absolutely got that too - the only other caramel popcorn stand we'd seen was over in Fantasyland (by Beauty and the Beast) and the line was super long, so of course we had to try it. It was good, as you might expect: less sweet than in the US but yummy. Definitely better than soy sauce and butter.
