LuvLuvLuv's Memories TR Starts Pg 73 - Honeymoon Day 6.1

I think it's a great idea...as I would never take out a loan of any kind to pay for a wedding.

When I read some of the PJ's and money is being spent in huge amounts...nerves are frazzled and family doesn't seem to cooperate....I always wonder why Brides put themselves through all that.

If you can work it out for November...and save your sanity (not to mention the money)...do it.

Best of luck to you!

I'm totally game for the Mocha's! If only you were closer....

But I totally, fully support you! I think this is the best decision yet and will honestly cause you the least amount of hassle. You can do it wham, bam, thank you man. And still celebrate largely with your family next year and do the big family trip along with a DP. Hey, you could even wear your dress twice!

I would start searching for a dress ASAP! If you can't get anything off of the rack, sometimes if you pay a bit more they could rush production? Please feel free to text me dress hunting pictures! ;D I really think this sounds like your best idea yet. Totally. Fully supportive. And wish I could meet you down there!

Too bad our anniversaries aren't near each other! Then we'd be able to do anni trips together. Wah. hehe.

But I fully support you! And if you need to talk or anything when you have doubts text me!

Great idea, do it! :goodvibes

I think it'll do your sanity the world of good! You know what you want and if you can get it together by November then I think you should deffinately go ahead and do it. xx

Wow Deena! Such a suprise of an idea...but I LOVE it! It seems like all along you've wanted something intimate and small and since you already have the dates planned, it would be PERFECT! And check about rushing a dress. I only had 5 and a half months to plan my wedding and the time from when I ordered my dress til when it came in was 3 months...so it would be tight but it might be doable! (If you don't find one off the rack!) Can't wait to hear an update!

Personally, I think this is a great idea!! You don't need to spend massive amounts of money and it seems like the wedding is already giving you so much stress, so go for it! You'll still have a Disney wedding but it seems like it will be much less stressful for you this way. I hope you do it!!

If you can do it--I would go for it! This is exactly what you've wanted the whole time!!! And if you do get the 10th--I'm totally spying from afar! Wow, this is so surprising, but I'm excited to see what you hear from them!

I agree with everyone else and say go for it. For me from engagement to wedding day is exactly six months. I ordered my dress in April and it will be in this week. So it's very doable. Plus, I've been reading your PJ for months now and I can feel the stress and anxiety that comes through when talking about all your obligations and family issues. I can't imagine going through this for another year and a half. This is your wedding and it should be about you and your fiance and no one else - and it should be the happiest day of your life to this point. Then, this way you'll be married and not waiting and waiting - isn't that the point? Good luck getting the November date - I think it's going to work out for you.

Deena,

Wow!!!! :scared1: I think this is probably the right move for you. With all of your guest issues and stress, an elopement is perfect. I love the Poly Beach idea.

Just wish I wasn't leaving on the 10th, so I could stalk. Maybe we will see each other in Epcot on the 9th. :cool1: Also, since you might be in Disney for your first anniversary, you can come stalk my VR. :)

Hope you get good news from Diane today.

I was actually not surprised to read this as I thought it might be a good idea for you. On a totally personal and selfish note, I will be sad if we are no longer getting married so close to each other! As others have said, if this makes sense financially and emotionally, there's no reason to wait. Having an engagement that feels like an eternity, I often wonder if we should have done an escape this year and been able to buy a house sooner. Good luck and I hope you get good news!

Ahhh!!! Deena, I think you want to give all of us heart attacks!!!! :lmao:

But honestly? I think it's a GREAT idea!!!!!!!! :D I really, really do. I think you've wanted something small and intimate all along, and this is It. And you'll still have time to stress out and plan, don't worry about lack of stress! I am a littttle nervous about how your stepmom will react, but other than that, I am really excited and I wish you could find out TODAY!

Now I wish I could come in November to congratulate you! Will you tell all my students I'm sick?

Yes, I'll tell them all that you're sick :) Lol... my stepmom's reaction was odd--but I'll go into detail below!

I say go for it! To me almost all of your problems have centered around other people and I think its great for the two of you to take care of you first! Plus you already have a trip planned, etc. I would make the call first thing in the morning, see what your options are, and then go from there. I'll have my fingers crossed for you!!

The email is in--waiting on a call--and I agree... the problems are the guests!

I agree that you two should do the Memories wedding. With everything your family is putting you through, it comes out as a pretty good plan. It will be a nice, romantic celebration of your love for each other without the drama. :goodvibes

Thanks!! I'm so happy!

Thank you so much!! We're going to do our best to work this all out!!

 I've been so busy lately I haven't texted!! I may go up to the shop tomorrow and look around--but I may just wait until next week's pay day so I can actually purchase the dress if I find it

PS. Did you go shopping for me the other day?!

I looked--but nothing spoke to me--I'll keep an eye out!

Great idea, do it! :goodvibes

Thanks!! I'm a busy bee today seeing what I can do!!

Very surprising!! I think the dress is my only real stress!

I'm so glad to be not-stressed!! Once I lock everything down (hopefully after this week) my life will be easy going!! Yay!!

I'm hoping I hear back today!! I think I'm still in shock!!

If you can afford it and everything works out then do it! Good Luck! :)

Thank!!

Well we'll definatley be there next year!! We have the deposits on the room  I'm feeling like this will be great--If we get an early morning spot maybe you can eat at Kona and come out and see :)

______________________________________________

Lol, I think I let out a little shocker there! This is all happening so quickly!! I'm really hoping that this will work out--and I have a backup plan of the Dolphin if this falls through. I really think this is the best for us!

Almost every issue that has happened so far revolves around guests. Guests that I don't talk to often, don't know well, should respect me more, etc etc etc--WHY?? Next year's show was going to cost me $30,000 with everything--this will be about 10,000, done and happy. 20,000 can get me new appliances, furniture, debt paid and a DVC resale---not a day with ungrateful people.

So I did talk to my stepmom last night. She said she was coming. I told her that was dumb and disrespectful. This went on for over an hour because she could not comprehend anything I was explaining. I told her if family wanted to come, then needed to pay for the entire thing and I wouldn't contribute a dime. I also pointed out that I was at least telling her, and I could have lied and just said SURPRISE when we got back. I said that her and I would go in May and for her to save for that. The conversation was just unbelieveable--but I think it's all good now.

Dave still needs to tell his mom--I think she'll be okay. I need to go over ADRs like now. As soon as I hear back from DFTW, I need to contact all my vendors and see what we can do!! What a busy day!! I can't thank everyone enough for all the support!!!

Thank you  I'm sad too!! We were wedding sisters, but I will still be there!! I have my rooms!! This really is what we wanted and I think it will be great. We'll just go see the mice at breakfast :)

It's a shame you aren't doing it near the end of November. We may be going down sometime at the end of November this year for e-pics. I'm super excited for Christmas themed Disney! Never been down there for holidays. My parents and other siblings have, but I haven't because of my retail gig for a while. Anywho, I think it's a great idea to do what you want, either it be for financial or stressless reasons. And it's always great to get the party started sooner, right?!

Alright lady, I'm keeping fingers crossed! When you hear back from that planner you best let me know! haha. Plus I'm here if you ever need to vent. Tell StepMom to get over it! ;D

I'm hoping it all works out and yay for saved money!

Forgot to mention:

I talked to Diane this morning, she was so sweet! She had to pass my info along to someone who does memories and said to expect a call tomorrow. So I'm still on pins and needles. She's not canceling me until I book with them--which is good--you know I'm a chronic mind changer, lol!!

Wow! You weren't kidding when you said this ride was about to get bumpier!

I really hope things go through with the Memories collection. You have been through so much and should truly do what will make you happy.

I'm so excited for you and I'm keeping my fingers crossed!

Best of luck! :grouphug:

I've been tell ya it WILL all work out sweetie!!) We just want you to be happy and married without all the family drama!

I love the #1 dress you posted - so elegant!

Wooo!!! I have my fingers crossed. I really hope your day is open... and I'm glad you got your stepmom to concede. :D

Also, I like dresses 1 and 2 the most (dress 1 is elegant, dress 2 is a bit more funky) and shoe 2.

Okay, the second pair of shoes is A MUST. I've been eyeing up them mama's for awhile!

As far as dresses go, the only one that really speaks to me as a WEDDING dress is the first one by Camille. It's gorgeous. And if I remember correctly somewhat similar to one you've tried on?

If you're considering an online gown, I may have to do some shopping for you!
