Lulu201's Healthy Living Log (comments welcome!)

Erin, I hope today, the Sabbath, the Lord's day of rest, that you truly do find time to REST! :sunny:

I'm sure I'll be back later to check in but for now, I'm wishing you peace, joy and much love!

Doreen, DH and I were talking over dinner on Friday night that we have to find a weekend to get away by ourselves. . .when I'm home, I find myself compelled to do the chores that I see needing to be done, and before I know it, the day is gone--even on Sunday. You know what I'm talking about? So far, I've been played at church, gone to pick up fruits and veggies, done the dishes, taken the movies back, and have started the laundry that needs to be done (7 loads are lined up and waiting). I know that I should exercise and do countless other things, but I'm drawing the line right now. Aside from cutting up those fruits and veggies and finishing the laundry--I'm not going to do another darn thing unless I want to! Those things I've done, I haven't minded one bit, but I know that if I don't stop and smell the roses soon, I'm going to let myself get pulled into vacuuming and bathroom cleaning. Those will just have to wait!!

Stats from yesterday:

1. :( 5/13
2. :( 4/13
3. :D 5/13 Mickey and I had a nice long walk in a new park that's near us. If anyone had been watching us, they would've gotten a laugh. Mickey started off strong, leading the way. At the two mile mark, he was trailing behind--we were exactly in reverse. Shortly after that, I picked him up and carried him the last quarter mile. At least he started strong! :dog:
4. :( :( 3/13 Nope, didn't follow through on this again. I did some real soul searching last night and have placed this back in the Lord's lap. He has to help me--I sure can't do this on my own.
I think that a large part has been that I've allowed myself to operate without a plan. I can't do that. I wish that I could be a person who could walk a middle road, but like an alcoholic, I can't walk that path--I'm in control of my compulsive eating or I'm not. So, today, my plan is as follows:

b--my favorite oatmeal and coffee x2=6
s--grapefruit=2
l--sandwich and pickle=5
s--fat free biscotti=2
d--pork barbeque and grilled veggies=7-9

So, that's it and I'm back on my way.

Erin

:cheer2: Erin,

I think a weekend away is exactly what you need. Go for it. Your plan for the day looks great. I bet those size 10 capris look wonderful.

Here are half a dozen roses (all I could afford :teeth: ) to help you start your week off on a happy note! They're also here to remind you that April showers bring May flowers - guess that's why we have our grey skies today. I hear by Thursday it will be sunny and in the mid 70s!! :sunny: :sunny: :sunny:

Thanks for all the support you send my way, WISH-sis! It's wonderful that we can cheer each other on :cheer2: :cheer2: through the good, the bad, and the ugly! :teeth: Today I'm aiming for good!

I'm glad you found some time to kick back and relax yesterday! You are a wise woman! I found some time to do the same, so we can both stroll into Monday with genuine smiles!

I hope you have a wonderful day and, in the words of Dory in finding Nemo :fish: :fish: "Just keep swimming, swimming, swimming!" :fish: :fish:

What? Flowers for me? Oh, thank you, Doreen! You shouldn't have. . .but you know that I'm glad you did!

It's Monday and I'm swamped in things to do, but I'm just going to be like Dory:fish: and keep swimming through them all.

I'm really aiming to take good care of myself today.

1. I've taken my vitamins. (forgot yesterday:( )
2. I've had 18 oz. of water so far.
3. I'm going to get on the treadie for a two miler this morning.
4. I've had my 5 point breakfast. At 11 a.m. I'm going to have some fruit salad and some cheese (about 3 pts). At 2 p.m. I'm going to have a big yummy salad (about 10). This afternoon and evening as I teach I'm going to have some fresh veggies (0), and tonight when I get home, I'm going to have some soup and maybe some sugar free jello. No candy, zero, zip, none.

I didn't get weighed today; staying OP yesterday was enough. While I certainly care what those numbers are, I want to really concentrate on positive behaviors this week. I'm at Day 21 of my cycle, so this is a week where I need to make self-care a priority.
I'm also looking at food triggers again and trying to limit them in my diet.

So, I'm onward and downward, putting it in God's hands and doing the best I can. I've got my eyes out for the simple abundance of joy that's around me. . .

Erin:flower:

Edit: I've got to make this short since I'm taking Mickey for his pedicure at noon :teeth: .

1. :D
2. 50 oz. so far
3. :D Two miles at 29:00
4. b--5, s--3=8 so far. Target plus AP=24 I'm not using any flex today and that's final!

:cheer2: :cheer2: Go Erin!

You did great this weekend. Focusing on all the positive behaviors you've achieved this past week is a great way to stay on track during DZONE. Your plan looks great for today.
:smooth:
Beth

You GO, girlfriend!! You are on track for a FABULOUS day!!

I'm continuing to lift you up and ask God to send His angels to be with you today!

Good morning Erin! Dropped by to say a quick hello in hopes that your great attitude and sunshine will rub off on me!:sunny:

In answer to your question, yes, we're getting an early dose of summer out here in California. It was 90 degrees yesterday and will be again today with some areas hitting the 100s. I love warm weather though.

You're doing do so well, size 10 capris! I'm size 12 right now, so I'm right behind you. Maybe I'll be in a size 10 by August.

You're an inspiration Erin, thanks and have a great week! :flower:

I made it through the day cheat free!:teeth:

Stats to wrap it up:

1. :D 6/13
2. :D 5/13
3. :D 6/13
4. :D 5/13

I finished the day at 23.5 points; .5 under my plan. No flexies used.

Tomorrow, the plan is the same. I'll have to get up early to walk my two miles before I take DD to school. I'll have to be on the treadie at 6 a.m.

Plan for food:

Breakfast--lite toast w/pb plus coffee=5
Snack--grapefruit=2
Lunch--sandwich=5
Snack--veggies=0
Dinner--two chicken taco supremes=10
Snack--4 chunks of chocolate chip almond biscotti=2

Total for day 24/ no flexies planned, so no flexies may be used!

Off to bed. Thank you for stopping by Lisa C., Doreen, and Beth. With friends like you, it's easy to be cheerful. :flower1:

Erin

Tuesday, 4/27. . .

It's a beautiful :sunny: day; all the dogwood are in bloom:flower: .
I love springtime.

I've taken my vitamins, got up early and walked on the treadie for 2 miles, and have had about 22 oz. of water so far. I'm going to go put together my lunch and my snacks for the day and then head on off to work. I've had 6 points and have 18 more to use for the day.

Tuesdays are full days--after work I'll run over to choir practice. I won't be able to do much (if any) visiting of journals, but I will stop in here before bed time to wrap things up.

To all my WISH friends: I'm so grateful for you and your presence in my life. . .thank you for sharing the ups and downs of the journey with me. :grouphug: .

Erin

Oh Erin!! Wait a minute!! You forgot to pack this!!!

 :sunny: :flower2: :sunny:

Hope your day is a good one!

 Erin,

Here's some :wizard: to help you with your busy day. Sounds like you've planned (and packed) for it. Have a great one.
Beth

Hi Erin,

I'm stopping by to check on you and want to remind you of something you said the other day: I'm really aiming to take good care of myself today. I hope with your busy schedule you make time to take care of you. I'm going to remember your words and try to take care of myself today too!

I hope you have a wonderful week! :)

Thanks, everyone; I had my bag packed with all kinds of things goodies thanks to you--flowers and hugs and sunshine and kindness--all the things I needed to make it a good day.

I'm fading fast here, but I wanted to check in before I let Mickey out and hit the hay.

1. :D. 7/13
2. :D I had about 100 oz. today of water alone! 6/13
3. :D Walking at 6 a.m. got it done and over with before I even really woke up! 7/13
4. :D Stayed at 24 points and used no flexies. I have to admit that I'm hungry, but if I go downstairs to eat, I'll have to eat some "pointless" veggies and I've had enough of them today. 6/13

Sweet dreams, everyone.

 Erin

Wanted to get in here quickly before the day began. Today I work until 7:45 and then head over to DDs "district jazz festival." I'm just going to put myself on cruise control:boat: , have an extra cup of coffee this afternoon :p , and smell the roses:rose:
whenever I can.

I'm also going to do my best to treat myself like a princess: with healthy eating, lots of water, and some exercise. Here's the plan:

1. Vitamins
2. Water
3. Exercise--two miles at 8 a.m. on the treadie
4. Food--Target 22, plus 2 AP. 31 flexies left in the bank (I found
out I had miscounted my points!. )
Breakfast--6 (Peanut butter toast and coffee)
Snack--grapefruit=2
Salad--buffalo chicken w/blue cheese dressing=11
Snack--fresh fruit salad w/cheesestick=3
Dinner--sandwich=5
Snack--fresh veggies
Dessert, if wanted--two pieces of fat-free biscotti=1
Total: 28 points, (22+2+4 Flex)

That sounds like a lot of food, but I have a long day and will need lots of fuel.

I'm off to make lunches. Have a great day, everyone!

Erin

Edit around 8:35: vitamins taken, 8 oz. of water gone, 2 miles walked (28:35), and snacks, lunch, and dinner packed. ::yes::
It sounds like a day fit for a princess: !

Congratulations on making it through yesterday!! You did a great job of treating yourself well!

Erin, you've got an ambitious schedule ahead of you today but you've planned well and you sound upbeat. Best wishes for a wonderful day!! :sunny:

I'm tired just reading about your day! But you have such a great plan ahead of you and some yummy meals planned that I know it will be a piece of low fat chocolate cake!

~Amanda

Hi Erin - hope you have a wonderful wednesday.

It looks like you're doing a great job staying on plan with food and exercise. Two miles in less than a half hour is great. Keep up the good job!

Hi Erin,

I hope you have a quiet weekend plan, because your week has been nonstop. Great job getting your exercise in despite the schedule. Keep it up.
Beth

:sunny: Good morning, princess: Lulu!! :sunny:

You had such a good start to yesterday! I hope all went as planned! I bet the jazz festival was great and it gave you an excuse to just SIT DOWN and listen for a little while - probably appreciated after your long day!

How are you doing today?? Are you off to a good start?? I'm sending you some extra Energizer Bunny :wizard: so you can keep going and going during your busy day! :moped:

Enjoy the beautiful weather today - find time to go outside and soak up a little sun :sunny: :sunny: :sunny: even if it's only for a moment between classes!
