Lulu201's Healthy Living Log (comments welcome!)

:sunny: Hey, it's Thursday!:Pinkbounc Don't know exactly why I'm bouncing at that, but what the heck. :p

OK, let's get down to business: I was good on my goals--but not great. The food thing got me down. I worked from 9:30 to 8:15 and I didn't pack enough food to get me through, so I came home starving and overate. I didn't binge, but I ate over my designated points for the day. I won't call yesterday a failure, but I'm not moving my bear ahead yet.

So, I'm going to try again!

1. Gotta take my vitamins.
2. Gotta drink my water.
3. No treadie today. I work from 8:30 to 8:00; no time to do it and keep my sanity also.
4. 22 Target points; 2-3 flex.

Tomorrow I get weighed and show the results of my party-time to the world. Gulp.

Off I go. Thanks, everyone, for offering your support. Please keep on rooting for me--I really need it.

:grouphug:,
Erin

Hi :Pinkbounc Erin,

Keep that water going sister, and wash away those pounds. You seem back on track, and I know that bear will turn tonight. I hope you have a suitcase packed with food for your extra long day. I'll be thinking of you. Sending some :goodvibes to you.
:sunny:
Beth

Here's some :wizard: for your weigh in in the AM. Hopefully you will be pleasantly surprised.

Dear princess: Lulu,

I hope you are working hard to take good care of yourself today. These long days are tough, girlfriend, and I hope you're not putting everyone else's needs ahead of your own.

I miss our walks, too, girlfriend. :happy1: Don't worry, we'll find a way to get together. ::yes:: Maybe we should both get cell phones with lots of minutes - that way we could walk and talk without being in the same place! Technology can be a wonderful thing! :teeth:

I hope today goes smoothly and you encounter lots of happiness and smiles!

Hi Erin,
Wow! Sounds like this has been a very busy week for you. I hope you have some time this weekend to relax and have some "Erin" time.::yes::

Sending you :wizard: for your weigh-in. Have a great day!

Tracy:wave2:

Well, what can I say? I'm a shell of a person at this point, but I made it through the day on program! Bounces for myself!:Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc

Now, if I could be this happy when I get on the scale tomorrow morning:rolleyes: .

Gotta go veg in front of "The Apprentice". . .

Oh, good-bye John--next week it's John Stevens!!!!!!

 Would somebody tell me why I have this big clock in in my siggie??

I'll get to the point: this morning I weighed 164. Oh, my. That's a total of 4 lbs. gained after my two weeks of fun. Gotta get that off, so I'm going to give myself one week and if I'm still carrying it around by next Friday, I'll change my weight in my siggie. I'm hoping that if I'm careful this week, I'll see some good results.

The plan:

1. Vitamins
2. Water
3. Exercise--I know, I should get this done, but I have to get DD to school then have the cable guy coming at 8 a.m. I'll do my best, that's all I can say.
4. Food--22 Target plus 6 flex should more than get me through the day.

I'll stop back in again in a little while--
Erin

Some of the WISH clippies are not showing up at the moment. Your clock will go away when they're fixed. No worries - I'm sure the tech team will take care of it.

You are a brave woman to confront the scale this morning. I'm sure you were not happy with the number you saw. I'm in the same boat and your brave facing of the scale led me to confess my own scale number in my journal. Sounds like we both have some losing to do to keep our clippies and siggie weights. I like your idea of waiting for a week and then changing those numbers. We deserve a week to make some progress.

You're still way ahead of where you were last August, Erin. Our weight will fluctuate up now and then. Fortunately you know what works. Shall we walk this road together? I'm not quite ready to start yet (give me another 3 days) but I'll catch up, I promise.

Hang in there, Erin! :sunny:

 Erin,

I know that you are frustrated by the number on the scale. Just try to remember the great time you had with your mom. You know this will only be a temporary setback. You are a very determined woman, and you will get back to where you want to be. We'll help you on your journey.
 :sunny: ,For your weekend,
Beth

Hi Erin! Don't worry about those 4 lbs. You've come this far so I'm sure they'll be gone soon.

Ooh, that clock is irritating isn't it? We want our clippies back!;)

Hmmmm, it's Saturday afternoon. I took my vitamins, but haven't had near enough water yet. Haven't walked yet, but the day's not over. I'm kind of tired--may go take a nap. I haven't counted points today, but I'm not binging either--I'm kind of hanging loose.
Monday is my day to hop on that wagon and zoom down the healthy living road. I'll have all my flex points in the bank and can make a well-planned start.

Today was a good day at work. I wasn't sure AT ALL about working on Saturday's again, but DD and DH were there, too--DH was teaching, and DD was answering phones and doing some computer work for me. It was fun for all of us to be there together. Tonight we're going to watch some movies while I do laundry and then tomorrow's church and R & R. Definitely some walking.

Speaking of walking, after dinner I'm going to put on my sneakers and put some mileage on this body of mine. I won't be back to the WISH until I do. . .

Erin

Happy Beautiful Sunday! It's so beautiful out--the warmth and sunshine have really fed my spirit. When I'm done here I'm going to put another load of laundry in the washer, grab a book and head out to the patio with the dog. Ahhh, Spring--ya gotta love it.

Today I've been on plan and I have to give all the praise to God above because last night I was NOT on plan and ate whatever I felt like. I know that's not where I want to be, though, so I woke up, gave the whole issue over to Him, and haven't looked back. Lots of water today, lots of exercise, vitamins, healthy food choices--many good decisions. I am taking things minute by minute and step by step, just walking in faith that I can get the job done!

My goals for the remainder of April:

1. Take my vitamins every day.
2. Drink my water every day.
3. Get in some form of exercise every day--a bike ride, even a mile walk counts.
4. Stay on the WW plan for the next 12 days (13 including today).

Today someone at church commented about how I've "lost a lot of weight." I know that that is indeed true, but I don't feel like it. The few extra pounds I've gained make me feel, well, tubby. My clothes fit and all, but I can feel my roundness and it's not comfortable. I'm much happier in the 150s. I'm going back there!

Off to the laundry now.
:D Erin

Edit:

b--2 hard-boiled eggs, 2 coffees=6
l--sandwich, fresh fruit, pretzel, 3 olives, gingersnaps=12
s--1/2 grapefruit=1
d--4 oz. chicken, chicken/rice, broccoli=8
dessert--later will be s.f. jello

Total so far today=27

Menu for tomorrow:

b--banana cinnamon almond oatmeal plus coffee=6
s--1/2 grapefruit=1
l--sandwich=5
cut veggies=0
fresh fruit salad=1
d--chicken of some kind

Exercise for tomorrow: early a.m. bike ride, 30 min. walk on treadie, and a walk for Mickey

Have to go drink more water. . .

Here are my current stats for the last half of April (we'll pretend there never was a first half:rolleyes: ):

1. Vitamins: 1/13
2. Water: 1/13
3. Exercise: 1/13
4. Food: 1/13

I have a full bank of flex points today (they always turnover on Monday morning on my little calculator) so I'm going to try for a strong start today.

Goals for today:

1. Take the vitamins.
2. Drink at least 64 oz. of water.
3. Exercise: walk the dog, ride the bike, walk the treadie for 30 min.
4. Food: 22 target points plus 2 AP (only from the treadie walk)

This morning I'm home putting away laundry and doing some curriculum planning work. Later I'll head out to the store to pick up an air mattress and some music for my students then head to the studio. It's so nice out, I think I'll look for some capri pants in my closet--hey, Amanda, did you hear that? I'm gonna wear capri pants, too! :Pinkbounc :D

OK, I'm off into the day. It feels good to have a plan; it'll feel even better to get rid of all these extra pounds!!!!!!!!

Erin

Your goals for the rest of April are a great idea! I really hadn't thought about just starting now and setting goals for the next 12 days of the month, but I may just do the same.

I'm feeling "tubby" too and you're right, it's uncomfortable! If I could drop these extra couple pounds, I think it would help me feel more positive about many other areas of my life. So, count me in! I'm climbing back up on the wagon with you! I'll admit that 12 days sounds like a pretty ambitious goal at the moment (I'm not sure about the next 3 hours! :p ) but if I never set the goal and try, then I'll never get there.

I think I'll follow your lead and spend a little time in prayer giving it all to God. I know that I am not capable of doing it alone.

Onward and downward we go, Erin! :sunny:

:cool1: :cool1: Here are Doreen and I, walking the healthy lifestyle walk--taking it hour by hour today! :p

Goal update:
1. :D
2. Two glasses down
3. Walked the dog
4. Food--oatmeal (1), 1/4 cup skim milk (1), 1 Tbsp. almonds (1), and 1/2 banana (1) plus coffee w/creamer (1)=5

Edit #1:

3. walked the dog and rode the bike

I hear ya Erin! I am loving my capri pants so I know you will too! I am going to pretend the first half of April never happened as well! We'll just gloss right on over those first 2 and a half weeks and concentrate in the now!

~Amanda

Hi Erin,

I love capris. I plan on buying at least 3 pair this weekend at the outlet. None of mine fit, so I'm in my kakhis. Your goals look great, and you sound determined. WTG!

Have a great one,
Beth

How's Mickey doing?

You sound like you're on track today! Glad you've answered the "grapefruit" question! I bet it tastes so yummy - like it's full of sunshine! :sunny:

We're gonna make it today, girlfriend! :cool1: :cool1:

EDIT: 8:25 PM
I did it, Erin!! I hope you made it too! :sunny: :sunny: :sunny:

:cool1: That's the way, uh-huh, uh-huh, we do it, uh-huh, uh-huh.:cool1: Yep, Doreen, we've made it through the day!

Time for bed, but I'm happy to report:

1. :D vitamins 2/13
2. :D water 2/13
3. :D exercise 2/13
4. :D food 2/13

YAHOO! :Pinkbounc

Today is Tuesday, April 20th, 2004, and I'm ready to move into the day. Kinda slowly now, 'cause I haven't had my coffee, but I'm moving nonetheless. By the way, Beth, I got some s.f. vanilla syrup for my coffee, so I'm greeting the day in a princess: kind of way!

The plan for today is as follows:

1. Vitamins
2. Water
3. Exercise--walk the dog, walk on the treadie as long as I have time for this morning 15-30 minutes.
4. Food--I used 3 flex yesterday. Today I'll have 22 target, 1-2 AP--I'm going to try to leave the flex alone, but if I use it, I'd like to use less than 5 points.

Off to get my lunch and snacks ready and unload the dishwasher.

Beth, Mickey is do only so-so at the moment. He has some swelling and itching on his left front paw; the others are red, but not puffy like this one. I washed him yesterday with maalaseb (is that how you spell it), cleaned his ears, gave him his pills, put some hydrocortisone on the puffy paw, and put some antibiotic cream on an inflamed spot on his upper lip (from biting on his paw). I'm going to bathe his paw again tonight; if things don't get better, he'll have to go back on his steroid for awhile, but I want to avoid that if I can. Thanks for asking.

Have a great day, everyone!

Erin

Morning edit: Seems dear Mickey ate DD's homework (for real!); when we came downstairs this morning it was shredded on the floor. Had to tape it together and write a note to the teachers--no exercise this a.m. Instead I'll take a walk at work. I'm aiming for over 10,000 steps today--if I do it, it'll be the 3rd day in a row!
Plus walking at work will give me more time on the WISH :teeth: !

Goal update:

1. :D
2. One full glass
3. Walked the dog
4. Breakfast--my favorite oatmeal and a large cup of coffee w/my vanilla syrup;)
Snack will be fresh fruit salad=1
Lunch will be sandwich (5), fresh veggies (0), and big pickle (0)
=5
Dinner will be 2 chicken taco supremes at taco bell=10
That leaves 3 or 4 points up for grabs :D

Onward and downward. . .

Dear princess: Lulu, you are doing a FABULOUS job!! You are now acting very princess-like and taking good care of you!! We can do this for one more day!

:cool1: :cool1: Here we go, walking together down that healthy living road!! :sunny: :sunny: :sunny:
