luggage and MCO

We are arriving at 7 pm at MCO. Will our luggage be delivered before we go to bed? Will they deliver it to our room or to the lobby?

It will most likely be delivered to your room before you go to sleep (luggage 'magically' appears in your room up to three hours after you check in) but that depends in large part to when you go to sleep.

Hope for the best and plan for the worst. We've never had any trouble getting our luggage through ME. In fact, a couple of times it beat us to our room and we didn't dilly dally at check in or anything. However, we always bring swim- and night-wear, etc. in our carry on so we are prepared for the luggage to be late.

If your luggage doesn't arrive by the time you want to go to bed, you can call luggage services and ask that they hold the luggage until the next day. They will accommodate such a request.

The first year we did ME our bags showed up 7 hours later. The next year it took 9.

Now I just don't tag them and my dd and I grab them ourselves before checking in for the ME bus.

If you are staying at one of the All Star resorts, dont plan on having your luggage that night. They are terrible. The last stay most of my family stayed at the ASM and they landed at MCO, between 6pm & 9pm, different flights, none of them got thier luggage before 6am, they had to sleep in their clothes.


The other resorts, never had a problem, only All Star's

last year i stayed at CBR and had no problem with my luggage. It arrived within 3 hours. But i did pack xtra clothes, pajamas, abd bathing suits in our carryon as a precaution.

We stayed at ASMo last yr. We sent a pkg ahead and also used MME. MME arrived within 2 hours.. Our pkg, which was signed in a couple days prior to our arrival and had our DD's car seats disappeared. I was told at checkin it was there and would be delivered. But when it came time to locate it... well, who knows????
We satyed at ASSp the yr before and also luggage came very timely.
We love it since I travel down with the two kids before the DH. I only have to take care of them, with no luggage hassels.

This yr, we are cheking the carseats... MME works for us.

ANY time anybody flies, their carry-on luggage should contain, among other things, whatever items they will need for the first 24 hours at their destination.

Airlines misdirect more than THREE MILLION pieces of luggage each year, and outright lose over 250,000 of those.

I would just not tag them and put them on the ME yourself. Then you have them right when you get off the bus.

If you arrive at MCO at 7ish, you should be at your resort by 8:15ish. Your bags can be expected up to three hours after resort checkin...making it around 11:00. If you don't want to be woken up, just tell them at checkin that you want the bags delivered first thing in the morning. And then tell luggage service people, and put the 'do not disturb' sign on your door.
Or, you can leave your checked bags untagged and get them yourself. But, if you choose to do it this way, the driver will expect to be tipped.

I was in Orlando a couple of weeks ago for a work conference. (I did not get to WDW much to my dismay)
BUT it took 90 minutes for my luggage to arrive on the carousel at MCO, after I got to the carousel. I was so frustrated I wanted to scream. My last several trips to MCO have been to WDW with MCO and no baggage claim responsibilities.
I would do ME again in a heartbeat, but as others have suggested, with a carryon with everything I need for 24 hours (including PJ's in your case). I do this all the time when I travel for work. as the airlines loose luggage all the time.
