I know someone who purchased a Greyhound bus ticket, for $130 (one way, they were moving). Somehow the ticket was accidentally thrown in the trash during the packing for the move. They called Greyhound to see about getting a replacement ticket. They wouldn't do it.
His name was on the manifest, they knew he had purchased the ticket, but would not issue him another one. He had to purchase another ticket, for another $130.
I have flown several times, various airlines, no paper ticket needed. Walk up to the counter, tell them your name, show your driver's license and they issue your boarding pass. No paper ticket to worry about, or lose, and be forced to purchase another one.
Why can't/won't Greyhound do the same thing?
Completely ridiculous not to. I would never use Greyhound's service, after hearing about how they treat their customers.
So, does anyone here work for Greyhound? Can you explain the reasoning for having paper tickets to begin with, and refusing to issue another one if it is lost?
