Lost Season 4 *****SPOILER**** Thread!!

And how crazy has Locke become!?! The grenade in the mouth!?! I'm used to think he knew what he was doing, but now he just seems like some crazy dictator.

He's slowly taking over as the new Ben. I could totally see Ben doing something like that, but I'd never thought of Locke acting that way before. It's almost like the Island used Ben as long as it could, but one it 'met' Locke, it manipulated things so Ben's power over the Others was lost. Like it saw Locke and realized he was stronger, and better to be used for the Island's purposes. Creepy. :scared:

Was he? Or was the coffin empty? Did the airline just throw the empty coffin on the plane to appease Jack?

Hmmmmm...good questions. Did Jack ever view his father's body in Australia?

On another note...in the latest Entertainment Weekly there is an interview with Cuse and Lindelhof. They speak about the impact of the writer's strike and how they now have to get all their cast back together. They said that one actor that they particularly need is doing a play so they will have to work around that. That must be Miles. There was some speculation that his part was not very big as he was now involved in another project (the play) but it seems that he will be in more episodes.

I'm fairly positive Jack did view his father's body in Australia.

Remember when Jack found the coffin after the crash and it was empty? That could either mean that he was never on the flight or he escaped from the coffin after the crash.

Honestly I didn't even think about the first option until we watched Season 1 over again just before this season started.

That could either mean that he was never on the flight or he escaped from the coffin after the crash.

Or he just fell out of the coffin and landed someplace else while the plane (and coffin) were falling to the ground.

Besides, we know he's there at least in body rocking in the chair in Jacob's cabin.

Anyone see this interesting article?

Here are 10 reasons why we love "Lost' again.

1. This season is living up to last season's near-perfect finale: We saw the Losties out-ambush The Others and they were expecting to be rescued. The finale ended one chapter and started another in a tantalizing way. And the new season has reciprocated.

2. We learn Jack's fate: The finale introduced the flash forward and showed us Jack's (Matthew Fox) slide into alcoholism when he leaves the island. "The flash forward is part of an overall plan for the show," says Damon Lindelof, co-executive producer. "Season 4 is about who gets off the island and the fact that they need to get back. Season 5 is about why they need to get back, and season 6 is about what happens when they get back."

3. We know who survives: Season four introduced six survivors: Jack (Matthew Fox); Kate (Evangeline Lilly); Hurley (Jorge Garcia), and Sayid (Naveen Andrews). This "Oceanic 6" make it off the island, but one will die - exactly who will be revealed this season. "We've made a choice to focus on the characters that fans have loved since the beginning - Jack, Kate, Sawyer (Josh Holloway), Locke (Terry O'Quinn), Sayid and Hurley," says Lindelof.

4. The new characters are great: What tangled web will they weave? Daniel Faraday (Jeremy Davies), is very nervous physicist and Miles Straume (Ken Cheung) is an angry ghost whisperer. Cultural anthropologist Charlotte Lewis (Rebecca Mader) manages to still look lovely hanging upside down from a tree. And Frank Lapidus (Jeff Fahey) is the pilot who was supposed to be flying Oceanic 815.

5. Jack and Locke are rivals: Jack's lost leadership of the island to Locke, after a minor coup, promises tense clashes. We think Ben is still running the show, especially since we now know that he has a spy on the freighter. "Nefariousness is in the eye of the beholder," says Carlton Cuse, co-executive producer. "If you are Benjamin Linus, everyone is nefarious, except for you."

6. Sayid teams up with Ben: The folks from the freighter are allegedly more dangerous than the Others ever were. We know that Sayid works for Ben in the future, and Hurley's helping Locke trick Jack and Kate.

7. We get more episodes: Lindehof and Cuse were only supposed to do 8 episodes of "Lost." Now that the writers' strike is over, they'll do 13. Episode 7 will conclude with a cliff-hanger, after which the show will take a month-long break. "There will be very significant mysteries answered in the seventh episode," says Cuse. "The eighth episode is non-traditional and the start of something new."

8. More sexual tension: The love quadrangle between Jack and Kate, Kate and Sawyer, and Jack and Juliet promises delicious complications, with Jack telling Kate he loves her, Sawyer asking Kate to shack up with him on the island and Juliet saving the day for Jack.

9. The show travels: "Lost'"s opening graphic now includes the reflection of a city in the water. "We're taking the show off the island this season, to places like Berlin and Tunisia," says Cuse.

10. There is an end: J.K. Rowling convinced Lindelof and Cuse to set an end date for "Lost." "When we heard her say that she was only writing seven [Harry Potters], we were inspired," says Lindelof. "Franchise shows like 'Grey's Anatomy' don't need to have a beginning, middle and end. They can bring in new doctors, nurses and patients, but shows like ours need to have a place to go."

Very interesting article, beattyfamily, thanks for sharing!

Thanks for the info!
Am I the only one who can't stand the new characters? The only one I found even slightly interesting was the pilot. Miles doesn't seem all that smart for the line of work he is in, and I find watching Daniel is about as exciting as watching paint dry. :confused3

I really like the new characters. I think there's a lot more than meets the eye with all of them and I am excited to find out more about them. Daniel's story, in particular, is one I want to hear.

I don't mind the pilot either..the others I just feel that they are introducing more confusion than they are clearing up. I'd prefer to see more stories of those on the island. Been precious little of that to date.

Great article. Thanks for posting it. This part of it that I quoted supports the theory that Jin and Sun are two of the Oceanic Six, but that Jin dies.

If you think about it, a lot of time has been invested in Jin and Sun's story already. It's doubtful that she'd be left on the island without us knowing what happens with the pregnancy. Then again, a lot of time has been invested in Sawyer too--if he's not one of the Oceanic Six, they'll have to continue following the story of those left behind.

Yes - very interesting. I don't see Sawyer as one of the 6, yet his storyline is intregal to so many characters in the forefront. Hmmmmm......:confused3

Course we are all speculating about the 6 that get off the island but what's going to happen to the ones that stay?

Jin will die before the end of the season. Sun will want to raise the baby back in Korea and her father will end up having Jin killed for trying to escape his clutches.

From everything I've read, it will be either Jin or Sun that die. First I read that is was one of the orginal flight 815 Losties. Then I read a group of names, and that one would be the death, the only three Losties on the list were Jin, Sun, and Sawyer. I originally thought maybe Sawyer, just because they seemed to finish his storyline when he killed Cooper last season - that was pure speculation on my part. Now I read it's one of the Oceanic Six, which by process of elimination, of all the spoilers I've heard, could only be Sun or Jin.

Now weren't Sun and Jin at the airport for a business trip to USA? And Sun had learned English so she could leave him? I remember her trying to pick between getting on the airplane w/him and leaving in a car outside. :sad1:
Maybe he was escaping and I'm not remembering it right.

No, you're remembering it right. Sun was planning on leaving Jin at the airport. There was somebody there to pick her up and everything, but at the last minute she changed her mind. Then, in last week's episode, she told Jin that she wants to raise the baby in Korea. There must be some in-between part that we're missing as to why her father would want Jin killed...if, in fact, that is what happens.

since it was being discussed in the non-spoiler thread I thought I'd cross post here. This week's video podcast confirms that Kate's son Aaron is Claire's Aaron. I thought the episode made that quite clear but some people were questioning it.

No audio podcast this week.

I agree it was pretty clear, but I understand people not totally believing, since they like to pull a fast one on us once in a while;)

Where did you see this? I'm having a heck of a time keeping up with the spoiler sites.
