LOST SEASON 3 **Official** Discussion/Speculation Thread (No Spoilers)

People might have noticed a guy in a wheelchair, but they probably wouldn't remember Locke's face. Such is human nature.

Great episode tonight!!! :thumbsup2 I can't believe Kate blabbed about the lady and the phone. And I'm really disliking Locke now. Poor Sawyer. :(

Yes they did, but I don't think anyone was really paying much attention to what was happening around them.

Thanks, everyone. I figured that it must just be that nobody noticed. And he probably was boarded first.

So, from the end of tonight's episode, I guess Jack does know more than he's let on. The question is what. And are Naomi and Locke's father telling the truth.

Kate blabbed because she's trying to get back in Jack's good graces, she probably felt that by telling him she was showing him that she still trusts him even if the rest don't.

Also, I'm hoping what Juliet wanted to tell her was that she was supposed to be mole but is planning on double crossing the "others" and Jack is helping but that's only because I don't want Jack to be doing anything wrong.

And are Naomi and Locke's father telling the truth.

Whoever or whatever is trying to keep that island secret and gathered all the info on the losties is probably pretty darned powerful. I don't believe a plane was found but that somehow it was reported the plane was found with video and everything. Best way to stop a search is to find what everyone is looking for. While I would expect that Locke's dad might remember about flt 815 three months later, I'm suspicous of Naomi remembering. I mean why would she remember? She has nothing to do with flight 815.

Plane crashes are usually big news and Im sure the powers behind the island made sure that this was sensationalized as much as possible to make sure everyone heard about it and wont forget what they heard.
Did they (dad or Naomi) actually say they showed the footage of inside the plane on the news, or was it that the news was reporting there is a video showing the 'victims' in the wreckage.

I think Jack and Juliet were talking about more than Juliet being a mole--but that could be it.

I also think anyone might have heard of flight 815--it would make international news. I don't remember the flight number of that plane that crashed in Lockerbie, but I might have 3 months after it. Even though this wasn't a bombing, people would probably still know about it.

Hi fellow LOSTIES. I've been watching the show from the beginning, but just now found this thread. Do you mind if I tag along to read everyone's opinions?

Hey, you've found where I've been hiding. Definitely join in--I'm all for reading some new theories.

yeah but how many plane crashes do you know about. I can remember a lot, none of which I had any connection too.

TWA 800
The Sioux City crash
the one in Detroit when the little girl was the only survivor
the one in NYC shortly after 9/11

It was probably big news less than 3 months ago "island time." She didn't automatically remember the flight number last week. She needed to clarify that it was the plane from Sydney to LA.

Thanks. I have no good theories at this point. I'm really trying to decide who's side Jack is on now. Well, that, and about a dozen other things since tonight's episode.

Did anyone else think that when Sayid said he didn't recognize the technology used in Naomi's phone that it might be a clue that more than 3 months has passed in the real world? Maybe they've been there longer than they think.

Okay maybe you are right but I don't remember any of those, guess cause I don't like to remember bad things so maybe I'll give her the benefit of the doubt. Then again, are we really sure she's there looking for Desmond or did she just get found by the wrong person???

That's a very good possibility given the fact that the 'island' seems to hold some special power.

Not really because it's been a few years since Sayid was involved with the military so it possible he hasn't really kept up. Or in keeping with my last post...maybe Naomi was found by the wrong side, whereas the "right" side has some really interesting technology and capabilities.

I thought Jack and Juliet were going to say that the island would not allow the phone to work. Magnetic force or something.

I just wonder what kind of people would show up to watch a murder? The Others all gathered to see Locke kill his father. I just don't get it. They implied that Locke was special, but Rose was cured, Jin was cured, the eye patch guy came back from the dead. Why is Locke so special?

I think there was some other reason they wanted Locke to kill his father. It was pretty strange that they even brought the kids out to watch.

Yeah, very cultish. I thought for a moment they were trying to be like the Bible story where the guy had to sacrifice his son (I'm not religious, so excuse me not knowing their names). Is this the first time they've shown the Mittelos guy (Mascara Man or whatever) on the island? I didn't realize he lived there.

No he was there once before, I think it was when Ben was taking Locke to the "magic box".

That was Abraham and the son was Isaac--who I think was the father of Jacob by the way. There are loads of Biblical names and references in this show--like Naomi and Ruth too.
