LOST - Last Season (NO SPOILERS)

I also think Eloise is in Smokey's camp...maybe that was the falling out between Whitmore and Eloise.

I also had that thought. That the sideways timeline are what happens when Smokey escapes the island.

You know, I've been trying to figure out how Eloise fits into everything; maybe you're right that she's helping Smokey.

And I hadn't thought that the sideways timeline was what happens after Smokey gets off the island. Maybe because the sideways timeline started when the plane landed in LA instead of crashing - I've always thought sideways was a result of Juliet detonating the bomb in 1977. Smokey is trying to get off the island in 2007.

Wanna bet when Jin rushes Sun to the hospital they run into Jack?

So Desmond was the "package" in the locked room on the sub. I guess we're going to find out why he's special and why Eloise told him that the island wasn't through with him yet.

And Smokey basically told Claire that she can kill Kate when he's done using her. Cat fight ahead!!

Yep, it was Desmond!! It's great seeing him back.

Did anyone else LOL at the Sayiid scene? Here's Desmond all drugged up, and he sees just Sayid's head poked out of the water. They are so close they can kiss, and Sayid is just staring at him expressionless, and Desmond was like "WTH?"

EDIT: About the cabin, was it Jacob that was in there? My guess would be not. Remember, Llana said that Jacob hadn't been in there for a very long time. I'd bet my last dollar that it was the MIB being held captive in that cabin (probably why the ash circled it and that ash was broken when Llana entered - thus explaining why he's not being held captive now).
See, I'm thinking it was Jacob that was in there, in the beginning. Then for some reason, the ring of ash was broken and Jacob left and went somewhere else. It was then occupied by MIB.

Does anyone have a link to a picture of the guy that we caught a glimpse of in the cabin? I remember he had long hair and it looked like he was wearing a pirate shirt or something. It was back when the ring of ash was unbroken.

Here's a question I have...do we think that Christian's body was being used by MIB? We saw Christian in that cabin more than a few times. Christian was the one who helped get them all back, now we know it is MIB who needed them all together, and not Jacob. Notice, we have not seen Christian since Flocke appeared.
I haven't heard anything about Jacob not needing them all together. Jacob brought them there, and the people at the temple stated that they all needed to remain together. I know that MIB needs them all to get off the island, but I assume that Jacobs wanted them together also, to protect them, if nothing else.

Widmore told Jin that if the MIB left the island then his daughter would cease to exist - do you think that meant that everyone would die, or that the sideways timeline is really the MIB-gets-off-the-island timeline where Sun and Jin are not married?
Yeah, but last night, as Jin was carrying her out the door of the hotel room, she told him that she was pregnant. So, the child just hasn't been born yet in the alternate timeline which is earlier then island time. Right?

Wanna bet when Jin rushes Sun to the hospital they run into Jack?
I bet they run into Ethan. After all, he is an OBGYN and he also took care of Clarie. Of course, they could pass by Jack in the hallway or in the ER. Oh, unless she the bullet hit her spine. :scared1:

Why the heck does Widmore have him locked up and they are dragging him around, all drugged up? Where is Penny? I am sooo lost on this one.

Can't wait to see crazy Claire take on Kate. This is going to be fun. :rotfl:

I don't buy the sideways being Smokey getting off island, because then everyone should be dead. There's been a couple of mentions of this from the Jacob camp, most recently Hugo telling Richard that Isabella said they have to stop him from getting off the island or everyone would be in hell.

I think the sideways timeline is the show's epilogue. I think it's what happens when they KILL smokey and the island gets all underwater. Especially after last night's episode, because Widmore's group is looking into the Electro-whatever junk on the island. I think they will kill Smokey and there won't be any need for the island to be a cork.

I've also been thinking about how a lot of the show is wrapped up in Jacob trying to prove to Smokey that people are good and will make the right choice. It's why he's been bringing people to the island for forever. (of course out of the 108 candidates, we're down to like 3 possibilities) But in that theme, I think some of the non-candidates might have big good or evil choices--like Ben's.

Oh! And Smokey's comment about Kate to Claire!!! "whatever happens, happens!'' lmao Plus, Kate isn't a candidate anymore? Did we ever see her name, I can't remember. If we did, that means she choose the bad side to be with Sawyer? Even though I still don't think Sawyer can be crossed off.

Anyway, great episode!

Christian was the glimpse in the cabin. I'll find the photo.

I think Desmond is the key to destroying the island, with his time traveling mind ability. I have no idea how those two things go together! lol But we know Widmore hates Des.

Here's the pic of the guy in the cabin:

Yeah, but just because he is saying it doesn't mean that it is true. I still don't trust Jacob.

Yeah, the second one down on the left. Who is that? It doesn't look like anyone that we know. The hair and the nose are different then Christian and I don't think it looks to much like Jacob either. What do you guys think?

Not that this means anything, but Lostpedia says (from the Jacob's Cabin page):

The shadowy figure in the cabin in "The Man Behind the Curtain" was portrayed by Rob Kyker, the property master for the show.

I thought I had read that somewhere and went back to find it. It could just be a mislead, but I always thought the guy in the cabin would be Jacob or MIB. Probably MIB. I'm thinking this because why wouldn't they just have Jack's Dad or Locke actually film this part with the eye if it was suppose to be them. I think they had a random person yet because they hadn't cast the part for this character yet.

No, Kate's name wasn't on the wall of the cave; she was never a candidate. Like MIB/Smokey/Locke said last night - he needs Kate to get the others.

So, the remaining candidates are:

Hurley, Jack, Sawyer, Kwon (Jin/Sun??) - none have been turned to the Dark Side (yet)

Sayid - candidate now aligned with Smokey

Locke - dead

Did I miss anybody?

Then there's Desmond - the island isn't done with him yet.

I thought Flocke said.. Not anymore (about Kate not being a candidate) meaning she was but isn't now. I always thought her name was on the wall but was crossed out. Wasn't Claire's name on the wall but crossed out? (although that could be someone else or Aaron)

I could buy that. Remember "it only ends once." So maybe MIB (evil?) is destroyed and this is what their life is/would have been.

I'm also changing my mind and thinking that the sideways timeline is a completely different reality, not really a time line split. It is what their lives would be/are with no island. I like that...epilogue.

I think it was sorta decided it was...crap what was his name...the Hippie Dharma leader. Especially after the flash with him building the cabin. Horace!

Very interesting. Thanks!

Also remember that Claire was in the cabin with Christian at one point and is now part of FLockes group.

Also also remember last season when Sun and Lapidas came upon a house and met Christian and after that meeting Sun heard a sound...a sound that sounded like the smoke monster?

I guys  I don't usually post over here, but I enjoy reading your theories every week. I've been watching since the first episode.

I'm a little confused by this week's Flash Sideways. Why werent Jin & Sun married :confused3 They were married before the plane crashed. So if this is truely a what would've happened had the plane not crashed situation, shouldn't they have been married last night?

The point of divergence (if the Sideways timeline is a result of the the events in "The Incident," as we've been led to believe) was in 1977 when the bomb was detonated, not in 2004 when Oceanic 815 crashed (or didn't, as the case may be). This would have an effect on events at least that far back.

....and from what I remember after the Sun/Lapidas/Christian meeting in the house.....MIB/Locke showed up.....after what sounded like the black smoke.

We saw in an Illiana (sp) flashback with Jacob that she was sent to protect the candidates...and she says there are 6 remaining (she says this on the beach when they are sitting in the sand..and Jack is present along with a couple of other people)...this is after she knows Locke is dead.....so the 6 are??? Jack, Hurley, Sun/Jin, ????? I do not think she is talking about Sayid either as she knows what happened to him....but I could be wrong. I think Locke says Kate is no longer a candidate because she has aligned herself with Locke to get off the island....but she can still be one if she changes her mind????...wish I still had the episode saved with the writings on the cave wall. DH says Kate was never a candidate.....

I think Locke-ness was simply lying to Claire. I'm not sure he even knows whether Kate is a candidate. Her name wasn't on the cave wall that we saw, but it was in the lighthouse.

That would makes sense, especially where Locke heard someone whisper "help me". However, it was the same time that the island was being terrified by the smoke monster, which we now know is MIB. If he was being held captive in the cabin, then how would he get out as the smoke monster and not be able to stay out?

Unless, he is only allowed to be the smoke monster for a short time. Last night, Sawyer asked him why he didn't just turn into smoke and float over to the next Island, and he said it wasn't that easy. So there must be rules or something.

Here's a question I have...do we think that Christian's body was being used by MIB? We saw Christian in that cabin more than a few times. Wow, I am so excited to see so many people posting. I can hardly contain myself to get thru these posts.

You're right about the smoke monster out roaming around while whoever was in the cabin seemed confined. Awesome observations!!!

Here is what I don't understand about the smoke monster. For the sake of arguement I'm going to call the smoke monster/MIB's side bad and Jacob's side good, all though that is still all up for debate.

The smoke monster can take the form of smoke or a person. At this point it is Locke. We have seen him change, or at least suspected it happened.

The smoke monster is the island security and reads people and kills them or lets them live. He killed everyone in the temple and the others seemed to be scared of him, hence the pylons. So he is the enemy of those on Jacob's side.

Yet, how was Ben (who is on Jacobs side) able to call the smoke monster to do his bidding (when it attacked team Keamy). Is the smoke monster beholden and at the will of Jacob and those in control of his side? If they feared him, then why would they set it free to roam and kill?
