LOST - Last Season (NO SPOILERS)

Here is what I don't understand about the smoke monster. For the sake of arguement I'm going to call the smoke monster/MIB's side bad and Jacob's side good, all though that is still all up for debate.

The smoke monster can take the form of smoke or a person. At this point it is Locke. We have seen him change, or at least suspected it happened.

The smoke monster is the island security and reads people and kills them or lets them live. He killed everyone in the temple and the others seemed to be scared of him, hence the pylons. So he is the enemy of those on Jacob's side.

Yet, how was Ben (who is on Jacobs side) able to call the smoke monster to do his bidding (when it attacked team Keamy). Is the smoke monster beholden and at the will of Jacob and those in control of his side? If they feared him, then why would they set it free to roam and kill?

My question exactly! Well, I have many more, but this is the one that really has me confused.

Ben never spoke to Jacob, and he killed him, so until that episode a couple of weeks ago when Illiana forgave him, I would say he was most likely being manipulated by Smokey in the guise of Jacob.:confused3

I want a Team Smokey shirt. :lmao:

OMG I love this:

There is so much on there! Too bad it's so expensive!

Yay! I thought they were going radio silent after finale but this is good news:

What are you doing after the Lost finale on Sunday, May 23 — aside from experiencing the early stages of withdrawal? You’re watching Jimmy Kimmel Live: Aloha to Lost, a special edition of JKL devoted entirely to the show’s series finale. Highlights of the hour include an analysis of the two-hour conclusion, an appearance by executive producers Damon Lindelof and Carlton Cuse, and live interviews with several of the show’s cast members (to be announced at a later date).

Great Episode! I think Widmore brought Desmond back to the island to "leap" to the other reality and somehow get the other island people back together but I don't know why. I squealed in delight when I saw Charlie's hand come up on the car window and then you see Desmond remember when Charlie died on the island.

Great episode! A lot to think about though....my head hurts from trying to sift through it all. I really liked the scene with Desmond and Eloise....first she tells him that "whatever happened, happened" in relation to Charlie not showing up to play in the band....like we haven't heard that saying before...then when Desmond get suspicious that things aren't as they seem she tells him that he isn't "ready" yet. Desmond and Widmore share a 30 year old scotch...again, although under better circumstances this time. I think Eloise knows everything that is happening...and why.

Do you think Widmore's plan is to get Desmond to lure Locke/MIB into an electomagnetic area....and obliterate Locke/MIB or send him back into another time while Desmond survives, as he did during the test??? When Sayid came and told Desmond to go with him....it seemed like Desmond was expecting him....did Widmore already tell Desmond what he had to do and we just didn't see that part????

Wow....just so much to ponder!!

Fabulous, fabulous!

I can't believe I'm going to miss the next two episodes...unless we can get them at sea. The day I get home I'll be jumping on the computer to watch them!

Interesting that it was the three men in love who are having the deepest experience with the alternate reality shift. Makes me wonder if alternate/James wil be meeting Julia in a coffee shop soon!

We'll be on the EBTA too! We have a DVR so the episodes will be waiting for us when we get home, but I'm hoping we get to see them on board. I'm really excited about the trip...as long as we don't pass any islands with Egyptian god statues...particularly in a thunderstorm! ;)

I missed like the first 2 min of last night's show - I got home right when they were pulling the dead guy out of the room with the electromagnetic stuff and Widmore pulled the sheet back to look at his face. Was he someone we knew?

The rest of the show last night confused me. Was Desmond having those "flashes" that he had a few seasons ago when he had to find Penny, his constant? I liked how his limo driver was the guy from the freighter (the guy who died because he was having those flashes and didn't have a constant). It took me a little while to figure out who he was.

Otherwise, I'm confused. Desmond went so readily with Sayid? Why?

ibouncetoo - you might be on to something. The 3 men with the deepest love are experiencing the flashes/connections between the realities.

And Eloise seems to know everything that's going on. I wonder....I read that an upcoming episode will show the island way back when, with Jacob and MIB's mothers. This is a "way out there" theory, but maybe ELOISE is God or Mother Earth or some supreme being, Jacob's mother?? She seems to be the only one who knows what's going on.

Come by Promonade Lounge at 3PM and say  to all the DISers you'll be cruising with. It's so much fun to run into people during the cruise. We'll have extra lanyards too, so come by and grab some!

Looks that way -- much as he was leaping between times in "The Constant."

Loads of little details in this one. Got to see it again.

Agreed. This was one episode that I really wish they were re-airing next week with the captions, but as long as DWTS is on, I guess that won't happen.

Question: Was the limo driver George anyone in the other reality?

Edit to add, that I got the answer in a following post. I would NEVER have remembered that.

We're not big into all of the get-togethers, but I would love to meet everyone. I'll make sure to stop by. (I assume this is 3pm on Embarkation Day.)

Yes, and we've arranged for some ships officers to join us! Love to meet those men in white!

....sorry for straying off topic.....

::yes:: I did the same when Widmore said "Driveshaft". :rotfl:
