I think it is a southern thing - the northbound traffic was moving just fine with very little traffic. Jeff said he will NOT do this again. Next year Christmas is on Friday and we were going to go to Jeff's parents house, but he said NO WAY - they can come here since his sis won't leave her house at all on Christmas day anyway. Selfish. But he talked to some locals who said it's like that EVERY year the weekend after Christmas with all the snowbirds heading to FL for the winter, plus I do think that since FL is so many northern transplants, we all want to do Christmas up north. I just can't even explain how awful it was. I've never seen traffic like this. It's one thing to get caught in a 10 mile backup because of an accident, but this was about 250 miles of this.
There was no post about her rash - I had texted a few folks that I had in my phone. It was kind of funny that BSIL couldn't make the trip, but we think she was looking for a reason NOT to go. They just don't try to do things with family. They are very selfish that way, and she jumped at the chance to stay home. But thank goodness they didn't come, and her kids caught this staph infection from Ally. We'd never hear the end of it. We would have been "blamed" for it.
Tessa, that is so interesting!!!! I can hardly wait to share that info about the 12 days of Christmas with others! Who knew!
Debbie, hope you're feeling better! I started getting that achy feeling yesterday but feel fine today.
Oh, and I found a great little device that saved me from allergies at my parents house! I get horrible allergies and I'm thinking it's from the mold in their basement. If I went outside I was fine. My zyrtec didn't help at all. So I got what I call "aladdin's genie lamp" - that's what it looks like! You fill it with warm water, and some medicine that comes with it. Then bend over the sink and literally pour it into one nostril, then it comes out the other nostril. Not pretty, but it worked miracles for me! Then I also got some Zycam allergie swabs with a nice mentholyptus that really finished the job. Once I started using these about every 4 hours, I didn't sneeze or sniffle again!
We were planning on going to the community NYE party here tomorrow night, but since Ally is still contagious, we can't take her to Kids Club, so we're gonna do family fun night tomorrow. We bought Rock Band for the video game system and we've all been drumming and strumming, and Ally has been singing. She can really destroy Bon Jovi!!!!

It's so much fun! Jeff is our guitarist and I'm the drummer. And poor Ally really thinks she can sing - let's just say I love my tone deaf little girl!
Back to work - still crazy busy but I wanted to touch base real quick!
