Looking For Control Freaks & Worry Warts too........ Part 2

Hi my name is Ingrid! I am a worried wart :rotfl2: It has been pasted down now for about 3 generations. I swore that I would never be like my mother (having to go back to the house to make sure the coffee pot is off, or the iron etc...) But that all changes when you have kids. I know now that I am my mom in some ways. I am trying to live with that:rotfl:
So I just wanted to say hi and I want to join the club:lmao:

Blessings,
Ingrid

Welcome Ingrid! Yes, I get this from my dad - I can remember when we would leave for vacation, right before we'd get on the highway he would have to turn the car around and drive back to the house to make sure the garage door was closed!!! :rotfl2: We're getting lots of new folks to our thread it looks like!

Welcome Ingrid! We are a great group of listeners!

PAM! so nice to see you back! I'm sorry you've been so stressed. I used to feel that way, too. I'm glad your mom is doing so well.

Okay, Okay, I knoiw you girls want to see pics! I just can't figure out how to download from my phone. I tried to email them to myself, but it wouldn't go through. I'll email someone today and see if she will send them to me.

I have enjoyed seeing pics of everyone's houses! Okay, I'd better get up and pay some bills. Have a great day everyone!

Hi everybody!

Kara I have stared to pack. Well at least everyone's clothes are laid out. I have gotten all of the meds and over the counter things lined up. I still have to get a first communion gift for goddaughter and some other small trinkets for her brother. I dug thru DD stuffed animals and pulled out a Mickey and Minnie that she didn't know she had so I am going to "regift" them to DD. :rotfl: She'll never know the difference. I still need to get her pins and a lanyard so she can trade. We were watching the Modern Marvels special and even the higher ups had special pins. Ohhh this could become an addiction.

I have decided not to pack towels. I know it would have been going over board. I am going to be pushing the bounds of lugage as is. Well 3 people flying-3 carryons and 3 suitcases. Maybe I'll be okay ;)

Jillian- I remember seeing a really cute clear shower curtain someplace. Was it on Martha? Anyway they had taken the window clings and attached them to the curtain. Its going to drive me crazy now that I thought of it. It may have been on here somewhere. I'll see what I can do.

Pam l love your snow. That's cute. Where in TX are you? My DSIS is in Houston. here is the link to the weather ticker.....http://www.wunderground.com/. Enter your zip code and it will bring up the current weather. Then more than half way down the page you will see Free Weather Stickers® for Your Homepage! click on that and it will allow you to pick you weather ticker. Good luck

Cammie-- sorry to hear your not better.

:welcome: Ingrid

DH complained theres no food in the house. Guess I'd better go grocery shopping.

I did it!! I added the weather ticker!! Thanks, Laura, and thanks Debbie, because I know you sent instructions ages ago, and I just gave up. I am in Lewisville, TX, right outside of Dallas.

Kara - What is this Disney room w/inviations that you are making? I know that it must be permanent, and I totally understand it (I am the biggest Disney freak at my house), and would have one if DH wouldn't harass me about it:laughing: , but are you going to have your DD's birthday there when it's done? Don't laugh! I just haven't caught up on my reading of past posts that I missed. Also, what is GFATP?:confused3

Welcome, Ingrid! :cheer2:

Thanks, Tammie! I take pics w/my cell sometimes, and don't have that whole picture thing figured out yet. I am also challenged by my MP3 player. It takes me awhile to remember how to download the songs and get them on there. I attribute it to old age, not ingnorance!

I had fun w/my girlfriends last night, we were a serious bunch, no drinks, but we haven't talked (minus husbands and kiddos) in ages, and it was a very nice dinner.

Tonight it's to the Y! 30 mins on the treadmill. I wish that being thin came natrually for me! I attribute that to old age, too! Lots of things are happening to my body that I don't like!:sad2:

Also, what is GFATP?:confused3

Girls from across the pond- that's tessa and erin. I think the are still there for another day or so.

Air Tran let me change my flight without charging me!! Yeah that means a couple of more hours in FL. :cool1: So now we have direct flights in and out of Orlando. Also my car rental cost will be cut in half if we can't get Hertz to cooperate and give us credit for the points we have, which would be a free one. I am so mad about that. I want to call and talk to a sup there but DH's name is on the Gold Rewards program so they may not even talk to me. AGHHHH.

We may try simply wheelz which is a Hertz subsidiary. I can get a Chevy Impala for $109/week.

Laura- Try Alamo with the coupons from mousesavers I paid 113.00 for a week. Also the check in process is great I used the computer I put in all of my info before hand and it took 3 mins. Start to finish

Laura - I'm probably going to start packing, just not clothes since we're wearing the same things now! We don't take towels either. Just get them at the pool.

We have a spare room upstairs with a big sectional sleeper in there. We don't use it that often but decided to turn it into our Disney room! I've painted it a steel blue that looks awesome, and the invitations I found from one of the great designers on the Creative DISign board here. She has made invitations for most of the WDW restaurants, as well as special events (P&PP, MNSSHP, etc) and Resort welcomes, WDW welcomes. So I'm printing all the restaurants we've eaten at, plus the resorts we've stayed at, and framing 8x10 and hanging up along the top of the wall like a border. I hung the restaurants last night along one wall and it looks awesome!

Air Tran let me change my flight without charging me!! Yeah that means a couple of more hours in FL. :cool1: So now we have direct flights in and out of Orlando. Yea for you with Air Tran! I love that airline, only flown it once but it was one of the nicer planes and crews I've seen in a long time.

Gotta get back to work, I've been playing too much lately!

Quick story - last night I was at McD's with DD and a woman came up to me and said "I Dis, too!" - I'm like, what??? :confused3 She saw my Do You Dis tag on my bag and stopped me! Crazy!

Hi Girls!!! You always make me feel so loved!!!! I guess I have to come here for some affirmation. Thanks!! It feels nice to be missed a little.

We had a busy day. When the weather warms up I venture out much more! Today is GREAT! 70’s but then it’s going to go back down to the 60’s. I’ll take it all as long as that sun stays out!!!

My Mom’s birthday is Thursday so we went out to breakfast with my Aunt, cousin and her son (the gang I pal around with randomly – she has epilepsy – lives IN the city…), then our dear neighbor we love, who moved away, came over. She visited and cut our hair and then I went to the YMCA with the kids to swim and for DD’s last swimming lessons! When I got home we barbequed and I was POOPED!!!!! Tomorrow we will barbecue again and then Friday my P’s are going to Arizona/Vegas for a week. I am nervous because not only do we miss them but also I am in charge of Chelsea(our doggie’s) insulin shots. I am happy they ago away though because I like them to be able to get away from us for a while. They should be able to do “grown up “ things, right!

Hey…and check this out Kara….we have our animal problems too!
http://www.myfoxchicago.com/myfox/pages/Home/Detail?contentId=6316059&version=1&locale=EN-US&layoutCode=VSTY&pageId=1.1.1

Bed Bath & Beyond, Linens and Things..... Walmart also has some Disney stuff, and I think Target, too! I'm heading to BB&B tonight, I'll check out their selection and see if they carry Disney! I'm so excited about your black & white tile, I wanna come work on your bathroom! I just got the upstairs room all put back together and cleaned up!!! I'm so excited right now......
Hey, I heard linens & Things is going bankcrupt and to use any gift cards ASAP!

Debbie, speaking of mothers, is yours feeling better?

Yes, thank you for asking(unless she isn't telling me the truth)

OK, I am behind, but this is my house, when we had our big (only) snow storm of the season on Mar 6. It is 1465 sq ft - close quarters for the 4 of us!

Thanks for sharing! I love it! It's funny it's a snow pic when you live in Texas!
Great job on the weather ticker... Just remember this...if you ever want to steal any image...let's say the smaller control freak head...just right click on it, choose properties, copy the address and then insert that address as an image! You can do this with tickers, smileys, POTD, etc...

Not really.(love the smiley, btw). I have a dry, nagging cough which has now given me a headache. Never was able to nap this a.m.; seems I just can't do that anymore; no matter how tired I am, once I'm up - I'm up!

That's exactly how I am. Can't even remember the last time I napped. I think I had the stomach flu!Pam - So glad you're back!:) Your house is pretty but ...... you call that a "snowstorm"?

HOW BOUT IT!:rotfl2:

Jillian - Are you off of Rt.128? I'm not real familiar with the north shore, but I have a friend who lives in Beverly and it takes me about an hour to get up there. (I think I've seen signs for Lynn/Lynnfield on the way)

Debbie - Weren't you the one who reprimanded me for checking airfares again once I had already booked? Told me not to do that to myself - it will make me crazy? Back at 'ya!
I know I know I know....I should have NEVER looked! That was a dumb move because I am still upset about it!

YEP! It's sunny and 72F today!:lmao: :rotfl: :rotfl2: I need to get my weather ticker on! You all will have the laugh on me when it is over 100F here though!:sad2: - I don't like that!:sunny: TOO HOT!
You and Kara can get kicked off this island together baby! (and then you can kick us off in like July when you guys are dying!:rotfl2:

Cammie-I am about 15 mins south of Beverly. We are right off of rt. 1 and 128 it is very easy for DH to get to work in NH and in Boston. My step mom and Dad live in Stoughton. I am sorry you are not feeling well.

YOU GUYS SHOULD GET TOGETHER!!!!
Debbie- You not being here is not accebtable:rotfl2: We miss you.
Thanks!

Kara- I am going to convince DH to make it a Mickey bathroom. Everyone will just shake their heads when they come in. No one ever understands.
God knows we do!!! I say go for it!!!

OK, I just now submitted my taxes online! Talk about waiting til the last minute!!!!

Did I miss something? Where is Debbie today?
I'm back!Hey, how did it go with DH's driver's license???

OK, I got a lot done upstairs Disney room today - I got all the invitations hung (at least the ones I have, still waiting on 3 I think from the DISigner who is making them), and a couple of other things. I bought some shelves, too so I think I'll hang them tomorrow. Didn't make it to Bed Bath & Beyond tonight so I will try to get there at lunch tomorrow. I'm going to try to find some premade curtains or even a shower curtain that I can add lining to, and hang up there. I won't let DH in there until it is DONE!

Good job on those projects GIRL! You rock!

Welcome!!!!! Stay a while! Jump in whenever you feel like it! We are all nuts here but help each other out all the time. All our welcome so just say whatever you want and don't worry about trying to keep up with everyone (it's too hard)!

Girls from across the pond- that's tessa and erin. I think the are still there for another day or so.

Later Girls!

Quick story - last night I was at McD's with DD and a woman came up to me and said "I Dis, too!" - I'm like, what??? :confused3 She saw my Do You Dis tag on my bag and stopped me! Crazy!

How fun! Did you get her screen name?

Okay, you know I can't catch up with so many posts --- right?

We got back in last night. It was great. Chilly weather most days. I will post more when nap time comes in a hour or so. Just a quick hi = and I wanted to see if the thread was closed - :)

You made it back Renee! yeah!!!

Okay I was "one of those moms" at the grocery store today. Youngest DD had a MAJOR meltdown. Over tired, teething, and hungry. The triple threat of being a mom. I left my cart and went up front and bought her a chololate bar. It made the rest of the trip so easy. Oh well it's not everytime I do that. You should have seen some of the looks. I told she was teething and walked away. Poo-poo on them for judging me.

gotta put the groceries away now. That's my second least favorite job right behind putting the laundry away.

OMG Laura! I thought you were a better mother than that! I can't believe you did that!!! :rotfl2: J/K!!!! It kills me when I see people give "the look" sometimes! Hey, we moms gotta do what we gotta do, right?

Renee! Yippee! You're back! You'd better be in the middle of posting a really long message telling us EVERYTHNING!!!!!!

Debbie, whew! I thought you left us! I didn't know how I would go on!:rotfl: Glad you're having some nice weather - enjoy!

Hey Renee- welcome back! Can't wait to hear all about it! Rest up - you have alot of catching up to do!

Just got in myself today - been going since 8am. I had committed to volunteer to help out DD's 6th grade english class - editing biographies they're working on. Sooo did not want to be there; I'm feeling a little better, just tired still. But DD really likes seeing my face there so I couldn't pass up the chance to go in to help.

Then, I was running around trying to find a special little "something" to hide in their suitcase when they go away with their dad this weekend. Didn't have much luck; at this point, I bought a card for each of them and think I may just write them a little note. Any other ideas?

I can't believe May is just around the corner and Laura & Kara's trips are fast approaching. I'm already starting to think I should get my act together. I still need to order my APs (Kara - another plus for DVC - $100 off APs!); order another pair of Tevas for me & DD, plus looking at those MinnieJane crocs; also want to get a small Baggalini travel wallet. And, of course, I'm still playing around with my ADRs - but I'll save that story for another posting.

Will check back later!

Welcome Ingrid! We are a great group of listeners!

I have enjoyed seeing pics of everyone's houses! Okay, I'd better get up and pay some bills. Have a great day everyone

Oh and I forgot to say Hi to you! I have to once again figure out my Arbonne order! I did it a couple times and never felt I was getting the money all right so I left it but I need my STUFF now!

Welcome back Renee!!!! Can't wait to get our very own private TR!
Sorry you are under the weather Cammie!

Laura..are you me??

OMG I went to the website I get all those nutty smileys at & you should see the disaster it uploaded (advertisement) to my computer! It was like a crazy out of control train uplading the same advertisement over and over again!!!!!!!!!!!:scared1: :scared1: :scared1: :scared1: :scared1: :scared1: Scarey!

The trip went well. Really enjoyed the weather. Sat was hot - insainely so for my taste. We were hunting down the little mister areas and downing water like no tomorrow. We rode Buzz (DS looked scared out of his mind), TTA (which DS hated), Laugh Floor (DS didn't like this), and walked around a bit before dinner at CP, back to our room for a swim, and turned in.

Sunday was nice. Got up early for bfast at Tusker. They told us to be there 1 hour prior. Got to the bus at 7:07. By 7:20 still no bus, so I get nervous that it only runs on the hour and we missed it. I go to the taxi and hire him to get us there. We got there about 7:25 I guess - he flew! The park had no entry. :headache: So he took us to AKL and I paid him the $15 plus a $5 tip. We caught the bus from there to AK. The park doesn't open for anyone until shortly after 7:30, and even with ADRs they don't let you in the park until 8:05. Our breakfast was great. The computers had problems so we ended up not getting out of there until 9:10. I was sad - wanted to get to the Safari before everyone else. The waitress gave us a priority ticket to use for two rides, so we got on Safari with no wait in front of the masses. Then we got to get on TS (loved it) with no wait too. That was nice. We did FOTLK too (DS got asked to be in it, but said no. DS hid behind my back for the last 10 min). We visited Lilo and Stitch. Played games in Dinoland (DS LOVED it). The rain sat in. I have Weather Channel on my cell, so I looked at the radar and saw it would be a while. We rode TS in the rain and DS decided he wanted out of the rain so we left. Our ponchos worked well, as did the stroller rain cover. Took a nap, then went to CM for dinner. Caught Wishes on the monorail. Bussed back to AS.

Mon - CP before the park opened. RD at Castle - COOL. Ran to Dumbo (DS loved it)- first on! Rode WtP (didn't like it - scary), saw Phillharmagic (didn't like it), rode Barnstormer (didn't like it), Teacups several times (DS  ), Jungle Cuise (loved), Magic Carpets (loved), Woody's Cowboy Roundup (loved - but got picked and was too shy to go, so we did this twice and was STILL too shy the second time, and then cried when he couldn't join in after they picked the other kids:sad2: ). Rode the boat over to WCC. Dinner there was nice. Probably one of the best kid meals. I'm not much for that theme, but I really liked the hotel. Nice. Boat back to MK, DS wanted to go back to the room.

Yesterday was really Chilly. We went to DHS and honestly that is the only park I really didn't care for. The layout was all off. I think it was a lack of prep on my part because I thought we wouldn't go. Last minute thing. We had seen all of MK, so I decided since it was cool to go there. It was hard to follow the map there. Hard to find the bathrooms. DS loved PH disney, We did the Animation one to see the Wall-E exibit. I did this as a suprise for DS and he was so happy  . when we got in line for Stitch (DS obsession this trip) they cut it off the person and said no more stitch in that park that day. :sad1: The CM felt bad for me, but it wasn't like it was his fault. DS was crying but I tried to suggest we go see Mater - he was okay with that, but still very sad. I hated to end the trip like that. We got back to the Power Rangers - whom he wanted to visit but they had cut their lines off, got into the Mater line. That was cool. Went to the Buzz line and it was insaine. We only had one hour until we had to go, so I took him up to let him see him (without meeting him) and he really wanted to see him but I told him we'd go to Pizza Planet. DS loved it there. We played games. HE played Tekken 5 and got to the 5th level - :scared1: My word. He did like a Sea-do ride that he loved. Then we left the park. Got on ME and came home. He fell asleep in the airport, so I put him on the plane asleep. He woke up at takeoff screaming his head off that he didn't want to be on the plane and kicking his feet - and thus kicking the poor dear lady in front of him. He was half asleep. After about 15 minutes of that and me trying to calm him down, the man sitting next to me acting pissy (I really wanted to turn to him and say, "Do you think I enjoy this?") and every mom offering everything they could think of to help, he fell back asleep and slept until we landed and woke up in a really good mood.

He did great on the trip. We didn't need the leash but I bought him the lanyard and clipped the ID tag and a stitch thing to the bottom. He stayed with me really well. He missed his Daddy terribly. That was the negative. All Day Sun & Mon he wanted to come home. We got home and he wants us all to go back today. Most of the rides he thought were scary. He did alright on them, I could just tell by his face he was scared. Then off them he said he didn't want to do them again, that they were scary. I hated, and he did too, that it really was too cool and windy for the pool. That was the only downside to our trip.

I thought while they are napping, I'd drop a few hints - because I know I will soon forget them! :lmao:

Kara - thought of you every time I passed the DVC booth, or ate at the buffet! For your info, just gained 0.4 lbs this trip - :) Didn't catch the Block Party at DHS. DS wanted to stay at MK for the 3 pm parade, and he LOVED IT! We were ready to see Spectro, but he asked to go back to the room, so we left.

Laura- McLaren, McLaren, McLaren. TGM, TGM, TGM. Passporter maps rather than park maps - except DHS, there are some changes to that one. Char breakfasts before the park opens rather than the park opening. CP dinner (takes about an hour) was better than CM dinner (takes about 2 hours), TH bfast WAY better than CP bfast, but would do it again for early entry. The beds will scoot around, so you can push one up against the wall for DD. Don't forget sunscreen on your part of your hair - or wear a hat. Take a washcloth from the hotel in a zippie. Have it wet. You will use it for the oddest things. I actually removed an unwanted face painting in a snap with it. Are you driving or doing the bus system? Playhouse Disney was good. Make sure you do one of two things. Get there super early and get a seat on the floor in either the far left or far right almost against the wall so DD can stand up and not be obstructing anyone's view or just get there sort of late to sit in the back and let her stand. We got the first row and it was so hard to see anything for me - and you watch the show sitting on the floor. Even putting him in my lap didn't help much. The bubbles didn't fall that close to us. But he loved the show. Whatever you decide to do about the stroller, go get you some yellow ribbon. Two pieces - maybe about 3/4 yard each and tie them onto each side of your stroller. You will be able to find it - piece of cake. One lady did that and it was genious. I took a blue hanky, but there is so much blue and black there it blended in. :headache: Also, at walmart in the camping section they will have a glow stick that is battery powered, maybe $4. It can either glow solid, flash, or turn off. Get one and put it on your stroller (rented or not) and you will be able to find it at night - piece of cake.

Debbie - thought of you when we got the monorail tour of the deluxe resorts during Wishes one night. Beautiful at night! You will enjoy your stay.

Our room was so clean and nice. It was ready at Checkin. :woohoo: Lots of towel animals. Didn't really do anything with the toys. :sad2: I figured out on our last day, that the mousekeeper wasn't understanding that our thank your envelopes contained money, so maybe that is why :confused3 . I just made it unsealed on the last day with the $$ sticking out.

Our room was cleaner than a lot of 4 stars I have stayed at. I was really impressed. They exceeded my expectations. We were in the Woody building on the third floor. Very quiet and very close to the bus stop, food, and pool. The only down side was the food court. No matter when you went you were there for at least an hour IN LINE.

That really bugged me when you consider the longest we waited in any line at the park was 20 min for PHD, 20 for Carpets, and the rest was like 10 min or less!

The pool was cool.

The buses were okay. They were probably optimal. We never waited that long. We never stood. Lots of times they were half full. Most of the time, we had a bus just for MOVIES, but sometimes all three. There were people who stood, we just got lucky. I didn't like all the hiking to the bus stop, and the bus stop being the last one when we were already pretty stinkin tired.

I told DH that when we go back Monorail is the way to go. He would have went crazy on those buses. He is always on his Blackberry and very multitasking and hurry, hurry. Just judging by the feel of the WL inside (and I think it would be my least favorite value) and the Contemporary ( I hate mod, and I would stay there) and how close they are to the monorail stop as well as the MK and EPCOT, I told DH I could definately justify the expense. Especially when you factor in the additional dining choices, pools, etc. On one of the boards someone said there is an inverse relationship with time and money at Disney and that is the truth. In MHO, I would rather shell out some more money and save at least a hour or two off the bus each day to be on the monorail and off quickly. Oddly enough, I think with kids I would look at the Poly with our little Stitch fan first, and maybe the Contemp, followed by the GF. If we are to stay off the monorail, I'd do a condo for sure. The food selection really eats up time.

You made it back Renee! yeah!!!

I told she was teething and walked away. Poo-poo on them for judging me.

gotta put the groceries away now. That's my second least favorite job right behind putting the laundry away.

Listen, I use to look so badly at people opening up things in the store before they pay. I SO DO IT NOW. :rotfl2: You know, sorry, but s***w them - that chocolate bar made her happy. You got your shopping done. If you didn't give it to her, were those same ladies going to come over and hold her for you.:lmao: NOPE. Besides, you have to do things like that for them every once in a while. They're kids.

Okay, how do I get that stupid weather ticker to work? I have been fooling around with it and no luck. You guys are doing the webpage badge - right?
