My mother wants sheets for Christmas but she has a King so I was trying to find some 600 thread count sheets that won't break the bank. Anyone know where I might be able to find some? I tried on Black Friday at WalMart and was able to get the $20 600 thread count Full and Queen but no King at any of the 3 stores I tried. So now I'm trying to find some somewhere that won't cost me an arm and a leg.

I have found great name brand sheet sets (I'm a sheet snob and like 1000 ct) at Marshalls and TJ Maxx. I got a wonderful last year after Christmas and they were marked down to $20.00. You could try Overstock.com they sometimes will have good prices as well.

TC is not the only thing you want to look at when buying sheets. You also want to look at the type of cotton used and the processing of that cotton. (Ignoring blends of fabric).

You also need to examine what 600 TC means. I have actually seen 3 very low quality 200 TC sheets sewn together and sold as 600 TC.

I have a wide variety of bedding (probably 40 pairs of sheets--I was a buyer for a large department store and they were samples) and for the average person who wants a comfortable sheet that will last a long time with a crisp cool feel a 300 TC Pima Cotton sheet will be perfect. When Charisma was manufactured in the US they made 360-420 TC Pima or Supima Cotton sheets---these were essentially the gold standard. The Charisma you can purchase today is manufactured over-seas and is NOT the same company. They merely purchased the name out of bankrupcy about 6 years ago.

If you like a warmer sheet that will break down faster and not last as long you can go with an Egypitan cotton.

I don't know where to buy good sheeting inexpensively, I have a life time supply of Queen sized sheets from my job.

We like the Fieldcrest 600 thread count Egyptian cotton sheets from Target. I want to say they are around $70 before any sales. We have had them for a few years and they have held up great. The bottom sheet has strong elastic and stays on the bed which has been issue for us with cheaper sets.

Thank you for the information!! My BF only likes 100% cotton sheets and now I know what to look for. :worship:

Tuesday Morning. They had a BF deal on them and DH got two queen sets for $70; very nice pima cotton with very deep sides. Normally they are not quite that cheap, but IME they have the best prices on good-quality sheets.

You could try this link and do a search of nearby zip codes, then call to confirm:

Good luck!

This, and Ross's, that's my favorite. This summer they had a set in that DH and I fell in love with. We'd check both Ross's in the area anytime we were there, managed to get 3 sets. They were $17 for king sized and the best sheets :cool1: We've gotten very nice sheets there before also for about $20.
