looking for 5/9-5/14, can some check for availability?

Looking to book a spontaneous vacation. Thought it would be great to stay at one of the villas. My choices in order would be Beach Club, Wilderness Lodge, Boardwalk. Not sure how this works? Does someone need to check for availablity, then I rent points from them? Looking for a studio. Thanks in advance for any assistance you can provide.

About 2 weeks ago we decided to go to WDW on 5/11 - 5/19 and I immediatley asked for OKW because it is the largest and usually the best chance of getting something on relatively short notice. Well I asked for a one bedroom and there was availability so I jumped on it. I then asked for availability at the BCV since we haven't been there yet and there was absolutely nothing for a 1BR. I asked to be put on the list in case I get lucky. If you aren't picky about your accomodations, OKW will probably be your best bet. I can't call and ask specifically for you until tomorrow since I am writing this at 1am but if you get back to me and let me know that you still need me to check, I will give MS a shout tomorrow since I will be home most of the afternoon.

Just out of curiosity, why can't you call yourself?

I didn't think I could check for reservations unless I am a DVC owner. I was actually looking to rent someone's unit/points??, not sure how this all works, new to it. Thanks for your help. OKW would be fine.

It is a little close to the dates you want for anyone to rent you points unless they already had the ressie.
If you rented points from someone and then you wanted to cancel your ressie or didn't pay for the points ,you are inside the 30 day cancelation deadline so the points would go into holding. Meaning the member would have to make ressies with in 60 days of travel. Next time you want to rent points you should start a little earlier,I would say 120 day minimum. I have had people contact me a year before the ressie,just to be sure they got what they wanted. Read these posts and you will learn the in's and out's of DVC.
