LLMP strategy at Hollywood Studios

We’ll be at HS 12/18 so because it’s the busy holiday season, I’m second guessing our strategy for LLMP. Originally I thought we could book #1 Slinky and #2 Toy Story Mania for a morning time that’s early enough where there will still be availability for Runaway Railway after tapping in. (Was trying to avoid early morning rope drop).

But now I’m worried that there may not be good availability with how busy it will be. I tried to look at Thrill Data but not sure I’m understanding the graphs correctly.

I’m not sure this is helpful but we’ll also be at HS on 12/18, so I’ll share my thinking.

We’re going to prioritize getting (1) Slinky Dog (probably intentional booked for the evening), and (2) Toy Story Mania (morning), then doing some smaller rides and shows. We’re going to rope drop ROTR, and then try to get onto Runway Railroad in the evening either with LL or if we can find a short line at some point; however, I’m not very optimistic and so we’re assuming that we might end up just missing it. Yeah that’s pretty much what we’re thinking but Runaway Railway is a must-do for us so I need to make it happen without waiting Bonus to not have to rope drop. So trying to gauge my chances of picking up a LL for it about 9 or 10 am

FWIW, we've gone twice before Christmas in recent years, once through 12/23 and last year through 12/21, and we didn't think the crowds were bad at all, especially last year. They were much better than when we have gone at Thanksgiving. We did DHS LLMP for our first day last year (12/15) and got everything we wanted at the times we wanted, including SDD. Ours were scheduled at 2pm, 3pm, and 5:30pm. We didn't arrive at the park until 2pm and were able to do everything we wanted, including MMRR in the standby line with about a 35-40 minute wait in the evening f I remember correctly. We did not have any issues getting any of the LLs we wanted last year, but we didn't try for any morning times. Good luck!

We've found that the crowds seem worse at Thanksgiving than in the week before Christmas. I think people are more willing to travel over T-giving but want to be home for Christmas. We found the crowds before Dec. 25th to be OK but the 25th and after, through New Year's, were a nightmare.
