It's not exposure to germs I worry about - I just don't want to feel like I'm wearing someone else's dirty underwear . . . .

Exactly! I work in the medical field and am always around germs... Exposure to germs is not always bad. I don't worry about having a germ-free room and I don't wipe everything down with Lysol wipes. (As said in an earlier post, bugs are a different story!) But, you don't know what has been in those drawers! Really don't want to think about it!

I always hang up our nicer clothes in the closet, but often I leave other things in the suitcase. Unless its a long trip and then we will often use the drawer space. Depends on how many nights.

Yeah, I was fine until I opened up this thread; now I'm sorry I did.:scared:

I always hang up all my shirts and pants as soon as I can. I leave socks and underwear in my suitcase. I leave lots of non clothing items in the suitcase, too.
I am not really comfortable about placing underwear in the drawers.

It depends how many days and who I'm traveling with. For a long weekend or if I'm going on a business trip somewhere, I don't usually unpack. If it's a week trip with the whole family, it's a lot easier to just unpack.
I lived out of a suitcase for 2 years for work - different cities every week - so I'm a pro at organizing and leaving everything in the suitcase. On vacation, though, it's sometimes nice to unpack.

We wipe out the drawers to fight literal dirt, not germs. I don't want accidental candy stick or...unmentionable stuff... on my clean clothes. Otherwise I don't bother wiping anything else down/off. I am probably the least germ-phobic person I know. :rotfl:

Most hotels I live out of a suitcase, but for some reason while at Disney I unpack! :rotfl2:

I am the same. I unpack at Disney, but not anywhere else. Weird. I usually unpack and as we go through clothes, I put the dirty ones back in the suitcase.

We're light travelers....one rolling duffle each...we stay 9-12 nights and never do laundry....after 46 trips to WDW, I have it down to a science and itemized packing list adjusted by length of stay...

That said, she gets the drawers....I'm fine living out of my suitcase....was it's worn, it goes in the laundry bags provided by Disney, and when heading home, I can crush the laundry bag against the bed, like a space bag, and all the air comes out, it compresses and into the suitcase it goes.....easy for me..I guess men travel differently than women....I can easily wear the same pair of shorts multiple times....

Hmm, I didn't realize how many people actually unpack! Maybe I should give it a try... I don't unpack, and it's not because of the fear of bugs. When I pack at home, I pack in the order I want to wear the outfits. So I just have to pull from the top. Dirty clothes go in the closet in a laundry bag.

We unpack. When I pack, I mix up the clothes so there is some of everyones in each bag so that if one bag gets lost, we each still have one or two outfits to wear. Plus at least one bathroom bag (brush, deodorant).

For those of you who don't unpack becuase of the bed bug worry, where are you storing/using your suitcases?

I am one who travels with Clorox wipes.:cutie: I wipe down phones, remotes, door handles and toilet stuff. I unpack and put things in drawers and closets. I am more concerned about people who don't wash their hands after using the restroom:scared1: than I am about bedbugs.
By the way some of us are, I am suspecting that Disney has some of the cleanest rooms around if we are all going in and cleaning everything!:goodvibes I tend to be very neat anyway. I also make my bed before leaving the room every morning. What really drives my spouse crazy is when we check out, I gather all the linens and towels and place everything in the tub!:confused3 Oh, and I also tip mousekeeping even though I make their work a lot easier!:thumbsup2

Unpack. Totally. I hate living out of a suitcase. :scared: Now with our upcoming double move, which I swore I'd never do again , we'll see how much I unpack for the 2 night stay.

For me, it depends on the length of stay. Many years ago, we'd stay for 4-5 nights and I don't think I ever unpacked. We're going to be staying for an extended period of time coming up (about a month long stay) and there's no way I could ever live out of a suitcase for that long. Plus, I don't plan on bringing 30+ days worth of clothing with me for myself and my family. I DEFINITELY plan on utilizing the laundry services! :)

I think it really depends on the amount of time you're staying.

I definitely plan to unpack, we'll be there 11 nights and I can't imagine how jumbled everything would be by the end of that if we didn't!

I do hang up my tops and skirts but keep my other things in baggies in my suitcase :goodvibes

I live out of the suitcase and I use the luggage rack to keep the suitcase on..I do this because of bedbugs. Very few people think to check the other room furniture for bedbugs, and I had a cousin come back from a WDW trip with the little stinkers. It was a costly problem to fix.

I realize I sound like a germaphobe but Im really not. I wipe off the remote and the door handles in the room and that's it. Otherwise, I wash my hands after using the bathroom, stuff like that. It seems to work for me.
