Live from the 11/5 Magic

Hey Barb!
Have a GREAT cruise...we'll be right behind ya for the Turkey Cruise in 2wks.!!
Tell me, did you have to pay any surcharges for your wireless Internet usage? I know DCL likes for us to pay for the regular kind...we were planning on brining the laptop w/ wifi card. Just wondering.

Thanks & have a fabulous time!!
Laurie :flower:

I have friends on board this week. If you meet anyone from Ohio w/ a small 1 1/2 yr old and expecting another, tell them hello! Have fun! I know they were excited to stay in Key West later than usual. How late were you there?

Funny when I saw this thread my first thought was to ask about the door signs. But I see it is already being done.

hi barb :)

you mentioned passing out numbered boarding cards the first hour of boarding -- is that the standard? just to pass out the cards during say noon to 1 p.m.?? just wondering if it's worth showing up to port at 11 a.m. next saturday?

enjoy your day at sea tomorrow!!!

what staggered dining time do you have? how's that working?

Hello
Another Turkey Cruiser of '05 here
?? Is WiFI everywhere or just in select locations?

What do they show on the Deck9/10 TV screen?
Any football?

Tell us more about GC,CM, and CC any damage still showing from this years weather?

John :earboy2:

Have a great time!!

What time did you get to the port? I hadn't heard that numbers were only in the first hour....so how long did you have to wait to board?

Hey Barb!! Have a great sailing!!! I too am a "Turkeyday sailor and would LOVE to know about those door sighns and wireless access!!
Think John (5Cjs) would be able to "hijack" the big screen for Football on thanksgiving day? LOL

From other threads, they start passing out the numbers when the terminal opens at 10/10:30. You will probably receive your number as you enter the terminal or get to the top of the escalator anyway.

I'm on board as well and just want all of you to know that my door is COVERED from top to bottom with pictures and 3-d mickey and a cruise ship that my daughter drew. It has not been removed. Plus we have seen other doors with signs on them.

We got to the port at 10:30 and received the #3. Our friends showed up an hour later and they had #9. So the number system is first come first serve.

Time to go back out in the sun!!!

Time for dining is the following:

1st 2nd
Lumiere's 5:45 8:00
Animator's Palater: 6:00 8:15
Parrot Cay: 6:15 8:30

Side note: We have 2 kids 10/6 and had the PC/L/AP rotation.

Have a GREAT cruise Suzy Mouse.....looking for an "update" on the "bug problem" in Costa Maya.....were sailing 11/19!

OK so I am confused on the staggered dining time thing. Does that mean that everyone whenever they dine at Lumieres goes at 5:45 or does that mean that your dining despite which restaurant begins at 5:45 every night? It seems like it would be hard to remember when you were supposed to show up if it varies throughout your week.

Could you also give us the schedule for nights for those of us trying to figure out for Palo ressies. I know it varied alot this summer on the west coast just wondering if they have changed this now that they are back.

Barb - thanks for taking time out of your trip to keep us all up to date! May I apologize up front if you run into my BIL!!! :earseek: (Not a Disney type person at all. SIL wanted to go!)

Have a great time - can't wait to hear about the spa offerings. Thanks for the live reporting - it's great to live vicariously through others!! :teeth:

Howdy all,

I'm going fast so I don't chew up minutes, as I'm working on board too. Here are some quick comments:
Wi Fi is in select areas, like Cove Cafe and Promenade lounge, but at the moment I am sitting in the deck 5 aft hallway and getting it just fine (another benefit of stateroom 5650...the internet isn't far away).
I think what they meant is that boarding cards w/numbers are handed out until about an hour after boarding has started. By that time, there is no line to board the ship, just a line to check in, so they're not needed.
Door Signs were on doors yesterday, so I will check and see if they're still there today. Saw lots of them when we walked across deck 2.
Villas: AWESOME!!!! Well worth the price. You get 20 minutes in the hot tub, then your treatment, and then tea and fruit. We've got another appointment on the next sea day.
We saw P.J. in Palo and many other old friends from the Wonder...it's been great! I'll try to check in again tonight...right now, it's time to get ready for the Golden Mickeys matinee, then spa, then Castaway Club party.
Barb

if anyone has danny and pasari pleas etell them sean and linda say hi. they were our servers on the 10/29 cruise, and also anyone who has a palo ressie if you can get chetan he is an awesome server had him for our anniversary dinner...

Another quick check-in...I thought the repeaters party was today, but it is actually tomorrow. I just got out of the spa, and hubby is enjoyed a seaweed wrap as I type this.
The staggered dining times aren't bad at all. The "adult" rotation starts at 8:30 every night (the others are 8 and 8:15), and it's the old LAP rotation (it's a different starting restaurant for adults on the wonder).
Natsmom, I said hi to Gemma and PJ from you.
Tomorrow is Grand Cayman, but I don't think we'll be doing much on the island (if anything). We've been there several times and done the must-dos, like the stingrays and 7 Mile Beach, so we might just pretend it's another sea day. We're doing the stingrays on Castaway Cay, so I'll definitely have a report on that.
High tea was just was wonderful as I remembered it.
I was missing the Wonder when we embarked, but now I am getting very spoiled on the Magic...normally, this would be CC day and I'd be getting ready for disembarkation in the morning. On the Magic, the cruise has just started!
Barb

You go Barb....get those island hopping for me....11/19 western!!!
