Little Mermaid ride.

Come on, Goofy's Sky School is awesome! My kids love it, and the theming is fun. :thumbsup2

It's a horrible off the shelf ride that any amusement and theme park ride across the nation has. Now don't get me wrong here, Disney did do a very nice job in cleaning up the appearance of the ride and new additions to the Que to it are nice. The water tower and 3 D style billboards are nice. However the ride itself it doesn't fit the theme of the area and the near by, new food options and eating section. Which are beautiful, BTW, especially at night.

In the end Disney saved money by putting a band aid on that ride. You can put lipstick and a coach purse on a pig, but everyone knows underneath it's still a swine at the end of the day.

The Little Mermaid ride may not be perfect for some, but it's a quality, family friendly ride that you come to expect from a Disney park. It will build a fan base over time and be loved by children for years to come. Bank on it.

That may be true, but I don't mind it much because I don't go to any other amusement parks - too dirty and gross.

If DCA would have opened with just the rides they have now, the park wouldn't have been the butt of jokes and ridicule it received for many years.

You mean like.. Homer promising to hide his fugitive mom "someplace where there's nobody for miles, Disney's California Adventure."

Or the time that they took the Simpson kids to visit Sideshow Bob in prison and Marge said it wasn't a good place to bring kids and Lisa says "Well it still beats Disney's California Adventure"...and everyone agrees. HAHAHA :lmao::rotfl2:

LOL your crazy, I showed up early and got in line for TSM at DLR and it was about an hour wait. The rest of the day it was well over an hour. This was just a moderate day too. The big win for WDW is what you said anyway, FP.
Hmmm. Since TSMM opened at DCA I have never once seen the queue over an hour at any time of day. And I have gone on mnay days rated more busy than moderate. I know the 60 minute queues happen. Sometimes. But it is much more common for the TSMM wait to be 30-45 minutes. Like today where it peaked out at about 40 minutes. I will be by there in about an hour and can confirm. pirate:

I was thinking the same thing, HG. We have been four times in the summer and once on spring break and the longest we have ever seen the line was 65 minutes (and for some inexplicable reason we stood in it). Last week it was in the 40-50 minute zone almost every time we checked, which seemed more normal based on past experience. There was one time around midday we waited only 5 minutes but that was because the ride had been down for 30 minutes or so, and we happened to be there right when it opened back up. :wizard:

We're in Anaheim right now, and have ridden Little Mermaid twice so far. The three girls (10, 8 and 4) LOVED it - we could see them "dancing" around in their clamshell in the "under the sea" room.

I thought it was cute, and surprisingly, my DH REALLY liked it. He said it put the other animatronic rides to shame, and he was really impressed with the detail. And this from the man who rode IASM yesterday and thought it was mindless syrupy dreck.

Tonight, the line for Little Mermaid was about 5 minutes and we were very surprised - people were whipping around that corner going every direction but very few were going into the ride.

Little mermaid and goofy's sky school I agree can be missed. Little mermaid is average but it could have been so much more with what they have right there in the ride. Goofy sky school is tight and you feel like you are going to fall out of it.

When it's 90 degrees, the Little Mermaid ride is a nice cool trip out of the sun.

I agree on the Goofy-coaster. The line is 30 minutes, the ride is 90 seconds.

I'm very excited to go on LMAUA in several weeks. I don't really care too much about Goofy's Sky School (despite the fact that I love Goofy himself). I didn't care for Mullholland Madness, and they didn't actually change the ride...

During the summer, we have never seen TSMM less than an hour in the morning. When we go by in the afternoon it is at 40 min, which is when we ride.

They still could have done more to Goofy's than blue paint and a few billboards. They should have at least had a barn that you go through. Chickens could be clucking and flapping around as you fly through. Rumor is, they will replace the ride someday. One can only hope...

When we were there at the beginning of August TSMM was never posted less than 45 minutes & once showed 60 & once 75 @ about 11:30-ish. Two out of our three rides experienced interruptions, one so significant I kept expecting to have lights come on & be ushered off. I kind of think they were experiencing some difficulties because the line would move at a pretty specific pace as a rule, but there was a point where it didn't move at all for ten min. or so during one wait.

I am always in a fix when in Disney, some rides I love to ride upon, while some I hate. The rest may be others either love or hate, so I prefer going with my spouse but then again we do not come to any agreement. Lol.

Yeah, that's been my experience too- minus the technical difficulties. That's why I'm always so surprised when people say TSMM isn't a long line. :confused3 If it is "only" 40 we are happy and get in line. :rotfl:

Well with some of the complaints I read here, I guess Disney could just tear down the TLMR and put back California Dreams narrated by Whoopi. Talk about a fast moving, exhilarating attraction.

You wouldn't have to worry about wait times.;)

Yeah, in June we hit it at the morning rush. It posted a 45 minute wait but it ended up being an hour. No major outages just people were rushing in so I doubt they could update the time fast enough. I was really hoping LM would take some heat off this ride but it is still horrible.
I checked back later in the day, I wanna say late afternoon, and it posted a 60 minute wait. Of course it was broken down and they were clearing out the people from the line.
I think we had about three interruptions on the one ride we did. I don't think any was longer than a minute or two.

:scared1:
I get your point, it's definitely a better attraction than what it was before but Disney knew it shoveled a bunch of cr@p so it wasn't hard to aim higher.
I don't understand why Disney was so stuck on B ranked actors at the time they created this park but to base a bunch of rides off of them was a horrible idea.

I had one of the original DVDs that had the ride through concept for The Little Mermaid ride. It was 10 times better than what this turned out to be. It's obvious that Disney made a conscious decision to reduce the quality of this ride.
