Little Mermaid ride.

I'm sorry to hear this. I actually enjoyed The Little Mermaid and went on a few times. I thought it was charming. :)

I enjoyed it also. My family and I were there last week and rode it twice. I really liked the "Kiss the Girl" scene.

I also agree with previous poster about exterior of Snow White ride. It is beautiful!

I love the old fantasyland dark rides, so I'm sorta glad to hear it's like that. I could tell by watching the ride through on youtube that it does have holes tho. Hmm

I'd like to take this opportunity to say....coughitcan'tbeworsethanpoohcough:rolleyes1

I did like it, but I agree that it's all about expectations. Like many, I went in thinking it would be dark ride 2.0 and I feel it lived up to that. AA's are so expensive individually, it seems that they poured all of the money into the AA's and skimped a bit on things like the queue or dark sections. I wasn't so bothered by it not being very interactive :confused3. My big beef with the ride was Ursula's demise. I mean there she is with this awesome crystal ball effect thing and she's such a HUGE presence in the movie, yet the only thing we see of her downfall is a flat panel in the back. Yuck. I did review it on my blog here.

I enjoyed it. I was crying at the end (but I tend to cry quite a bit at Disneyland). It definitely has a different feel than the other dark rides, but this one really isn't so dark, anyways. the one bit with ursula is the only part that's dark, the rest is happy. Is more like a tour through a musical diorama, where you are just observing from the outside, rather than being thrown into the middle of the action like the other rides seem to do. Different, but still magical.

I agree with the OP's comments about being too close to the plastic Ariel--she looked like Barbie on crack.

but I agree that Ariel did have some amazing abs. So much so, that I want to go home and do some crunches! But not Barbie on crack--which would be a much less healthy looking Ariel.

I actually loved this ride because my kids loved it. It is just pleasant, cooling (good for those hot California Adventure days) and enjoyable. I agree it isn't mind blowing, but really--what Fantasy-land-esque ride is? It isn't suppose to be mind blowing--but more of an enjoyable ride to young and old alike. I enjoyed it.

Haven't been on Little Mermaid yet but I have to say I'm surprised Monsters, Inc. is being dissed.

I LOVED Monsters, Inc.!!!! I can't find any fault with it. Maybe some are attached to the older, familiar dark rides?

Little Mermaid and Monsters Inc are my favorite dark rides :lovestruc

I can ride Monsters, Inc. over and over and still feel like I haven't caught all the details. I wish it would break down in several scenes - especially the sushi restaurant. The street scene at the beginning is very detailed, you can't catch everything the neighbors are saying - some peeking out their curtains, etc. Then there is the TV screen in your car. Plus, the fading effect of Randall in the locker room and interactive Roz at the end.

I feel like if it were put into Fantasyland, the line would be as good as some older dark rides. Location, location, location. lol

I love Monsters Inc and selfishly am glad it's tucked away so the wait is always short. Plus it's a fabulous replacement for what was there before

Speaking of Monsters, Inc., do I just have a very vivid imagination, or are there smells along the way? I think I smell ginger at Harryhausen's and then lemon when the abominable snowman is holding out snow cones . . . my DH thinks I'm insane.

I don't know about the lemon (which is my favorite line in the movie, BTW) but I definitely agree about the ginger!

What was there before?

Fwiw, I was very tempted ask this in your search engine, and see if it made the roundup. But it's late and I'm lazy.

Wow, I need to pay better attention next time. I don't remember that. If that's true, that's pretty cool.
