Hi everyone :earsboy:

I am very interested in finding out about all the smaller overlooked attractions and extra things around Disney (and other theme parks) that are not mentioned in the guidebooks or maps. Things like the talking drinking fountains and trashcans, the Electrical Water Pageant, things at the resorts, cheap stuff etc.

Do you know of any good website links? Or threads here?

So far I have found these lists:

Thanks for any others you can share! :wizard:

The Behind the Seeds tour at Epcot is fun and only 15$ per person, or viewing the Animals at AKL and doing some of the activities that are availible there. Even the AKL view is an adventure within itself

I think mMelstrom in EPCOT is often ignored, but is a great way for a quick cool off. :)

Is the Behind the Seeds tour that one where you get to walk through the greenhouses etc on the Living with the Land boat ride? That price has really gone up. I remember a few years ago it was about $6 I think.

Does anyone know where can I find a list of activities at the Animal Kingdom Lodge?

For those with little kids, Storytime with Belle in MK is one of my new favorite things to do. There is a photo session with Belle afterward only for those who attended the storytime.

I also like looking at the mosaics in the castle that tell the story of Cinderella.

I Liked the Behind the Seed Tour. The Guide we had was really good; even let us pick a tomato. Everybody ate theirs I planted mine.

ClermontCAT,
I love your picture of the tomato tree! We took the Behind the Seeds Tour about 2 weeks ago. I've always wanted to and I'm so glad we did it. That tour was a lot of fun, and very interesting. Our guide told us a lot of Disney stuff I didn't know. She also pointed out a hidden Mickey in the greenhouse I didn't know was there. We got to bring home Cinderella pumpkin seeds! :wave2:

My favorite is Living with the Land. Although now with Soarin' in, the line have seemed a bit longer. The Keys to the Kingdom Tour in MK is awesome, too.

I recommend getting a Hidden Mickeys book and searching for those while you explore the resorts. We had a blast searching at AKL when we stayed there.

When I called to reserve Behind the Seeds a couple weeks ago, they said it was $12 - $10.50 with AP discount :confused3
My parents did it when it was $6 & that was only 5 years ago.

Does anyone know if the nighttime viewing of the animals at AKL is only for guests staying at that specific resort? We're staying at CBR, but my dd would LOVE to see the animals at night.

I'll be staying there for the first time in January, so I'm no authority, but it's my understanding that you can take Disney buses into the resort for touring the grounds. You can drive your personal car only if you have reservations at Boma or Jiko or if you're a resort guest. I know that there is a viewing area available to all guests at the AKL - I am not sure if that area is off limits to non-guests.

The Keys to the Kingdom tour at MK is lots of fun and worth the time. I agree the hidden Mickeys are an inexpensive thing to do I think the passporter book has some ideas on what to do too. Check out the web site:
http://www.passporter.com/wdw/ . You'll get some good ideas! Also, www.talkdisney.com has other useful ideas.

Have fun! I am jealous! :earsgirl:

I think there are sooo many things that are overlooked in Disney! My main thing is looking at the incredible detail that goes into EVERYTHING around you from sounds to smells! It's a party for the senses! :cool1: Always nice to take a minute sit on a bench near the castle or around the world and take it all in for a moment. I am always in amazement with something new. SO pay attention to detail. :worship:

Regarding the Hidden Mickeys - I'm sure this has been posted before, but there is a Hidden Mickey website: www.hiddenmickeys.org

Also, at the Wilderness Lodge you can ask the front desk for their Hidden Mickey search. When we did it (a while ago), you get a paper that lists where the hidden mickeys are within the lodge, and if you find them all you get a button. :) (My friend and I were in our 20's when we did this!)

We really enjoyed the mime waiter at Epcot. I think it was outside the France pavilion. He got little kids to join in and made them ridiculous balloon hats and even stuck balloon contraptions on their noses!! He was just hilarious! :rotfl2:

Where is this located at MK and is it on the times schedules?
