Lisa's Wish Journal - Now we have gone Dopey.

Hello All
Am I tired today. Only got about 4 hours sleep Wednesday night and we had an all day meeting yesterday which I had to do lunch for. Everything turned out good and was ready on time and everyone was full and happy. One thing we had for dessert was home made ice cream. One of the guys helped me and we did three different flavors. It was a huge hit. I also had made brownies and cupcakes for the non dairy people in the group. Last night E and I walked. It was kind of funny. My neighborhood has a new walking track and we were thinking it was a 1/5 mile track. I was kind of bummed as I was watching our time and I figured we were doing 20 minute miles. As we left I decided to look at the sign for that part of the neighborhood (it's a new part) with all the lots listed and saw that the track is a 1/4 mile.:cool1::banana::woohoo: That means we were doing 16 minute miles. :cool1::banana::woohoo: Completely gave me a new outlook. I was so excited. We walked for 64 minutes which means we did 4 miles. :cool1::banana::woohoo: I am tired today, but feel great. There is hope.

Not sure about food yesterday.
Breakfast: part of a plain english muffin
Snack: roll
Lunch: 1 fried chicken wing, 2 sauteed chicken wings, rice, green beans, roll and a couple bits of macoroni salad.
Dessert: orange/strawberry sherbert and small brownie
Dessert 2: heath bar/vanilla/white chocolate ice cream
Snack: roll and more sherbert
Dinner: bowl of cereal
snack: small brownie (when I say small, it wasn't even a 2x2 square)
Lots of water with soda thrown in.
I always eat a lot on All day meeting days.

and yesterday was another "no spend" day. :thumbsup2

Amy/Tracy
thank you both for keeping up with me. I really appreciate the support.

Great job on your walk and on your no spend day yesterday!:cheer2:

Your lunch at work sounds yummy!::yes:: Have any leftovers you can send my way? ;)

Hope you have a wonderful weekend, Lisa!

We did have a few leftovers, but those were eaten for breakfast the next morning. There was a little orange-strawberry sherbert left after lunch.

Hi.

Let's see: no exercise on Friday. I was tired. Food didn't go so well either. Everyone wanted pizza at work and since I have connections for cheap pizza, I always order and pick it up. Ate two slices and had sherbert for dessert. Then more sherbert for a snack before I left. Guess what everyone wanted for dinner? You got it, more pizza. Two slices for dinner and I was done.
Saturday E and I were to meet at 7:00am to walk but she called to say she had hurt her ankle and couldn't. She said she might not be able to walk for about a week. I hate that, she is making such progress. I walked anyway and did 4 miles. At 15 minutes per mile, I might add. :woohoo: I felt really good about that. Then DD and I went to the salon for our hair appts and then stopped for lunch on the way home. Tried to take a nap, but DD wanted to watch Fineas and Perb and DH was using the front tv to watch golf. She ended up in my room so my nap was non existent. Made roast and everything for dinner as DS was going to camp the next day and I wanted to make sure he had a good meal before he went.
Today (Sunday) got up early to do a little cleaning before we had to leave to take DS to camp. I got a shock when I opened the back door. It was cool outside! :cool1: I mean cool and dry. The drive to camp was almost a three hour ride, but very nice. The camp is back aways and you have to know where it is to find it. As we were going down the road off the highway I started thinking, this looks a lot like a Jason movie. (Friday the 13th) I didn't say anything as DS saw his first one a couple months ago and it kind of freaked him out. It is a real nice camp, kind of small, but well kept and the owners and counselors seem nice. We left DS playing cards with a bunch of the boys. This is his first time there, but a friend has been for a few years and always enjoys it. I told DH about my Jason movie thoughts when we left and he was like "Well the name of the town does have Crystal in it". We had a nice ride home, took the interstate on the way home and it was kind of boring then the backroads on the way up. No exercise again today.

Well, I did better yesterday (Monday) with food. Actually didn't do too bad on Sunday when I really thought about it.
Sunday
Breakfast - cereal (Hunny Bunches of Oats)
No snack
Late Lunch - 3 chicken nuggets
Snack - handfull of cheez-its and a small ice cream cone
Dinner - cereal (Hunny Bunches of Oats)
I just wasn't very hungry on Sunday

Monday
Breakfast - 1/2 plain bagel
Lunch - apprx. two chicken wings (sautateed), rice and roll
Dinner - 1/2 grilled chicken breast, corn on cob, butter noodles
No snacks on Monday as I wasn't feeling well since my sinus' are draining so much

Exercise - A and I took Roo for a short walk. A. her DH and DD came over for dinner and I helped them arrange their trip to Disney in November. That was a lot of fun. Sometimes I don't know how to take her DH, but I finally told her I am going to just start ignoring him....... A LOT. He is one of the project engineers who worked on my new building at work and he really had me going one day when he said no one was suppose to be on the roof as it would cancel out the roof warranty. :rotfl2: I actually believed him at first. :upsidedow Anyway, after all of that, we didn't have much time to walk, so it was a short one. My DD went home with them to spend the night. Both kids gone, is a rarity. It was very quiet.

I'll catch up with everyone at lunch time today. :flower3:

Great job yesterday, Lisa!:cheer2:

That is too funny about the roof!:lmao:

How cool that you got to help them with their Disney trip...Fun, fun, fun!

Have a great day ahead!

Lisa, that is awesome that you are doing 15 minute miles! That is a serious pace and you are totally buring some calories walking that fast!:thumbsup2

Your food looks pretty darn good. I have no idea why, but everytime I eat pizza for lunch, Dan and the kids want it for dinner! So I had to laugh at your story about that.

Keep up the good work. Hope E is feeling up to walking soon, but I am proud you are doing it by yourself in the meantime.

Tracy and Amy, thanks for stopping by. :goodvibes

Yesterday was a rather good day. Busy at work.
Exercise: I had to walk to the main building twice and then April and I walked at the track by her DM's for over an hour. This track is by a main road and she knows lots of people as I think every other car honked as it went by. She would say "That's so and so." Eventually, I started waving too.

Food:
Breakfast: 1/2 plain english muffin
Snack: 2 mini toostie rolls
Lunch: 1/2 beef hotdog and some chips
snack: small ice cream cone at home
Dinner: small piece of ham steak and spoonful of mac & cheese
Snack: bowl of cereal

I was finally able to eat without feeling sick last night, hence the "small" portions. I ate breafast this morning (bowl of oatmeal) and one of the guys is going to take me to lunch. He is conerned that I'm just not eating and he thinks soup would be good. I was feeling so bad this morning  that I almost went home, but their concern has actually made me feel a little better. I told them I would go out with them, just don't expect too much.

E is feeling better and we will be back on schedule next week. In the meantime I am pushing on. She is riding a stationary bike to keep up with some exercise and that is working well for her and not hurting her ankle. :thumbsup2

I was totally shocked at the 15 minutes and very pleased. Tired, but pleased. This marathon is very important to me and something I really want to accomplish.

I am happy to report that today I am feeling much better. Not sure what was wrong, but after almost 5 days of feeling  I think it may be on it's way out.
Yesterday morning was the worst. I felt horrid and my body ached. I almost went home, but desperately wanted to stay. I have to save my leave, as right now, I have basically none.
Went to lunch yesterday and I wanted soup. We went to a seafood restaurant where I was able to get some gumbo and I ate the entire bowl. Not a big bowl, but I was scrapping the bottom. That did help a lot.
So here is food from yesterday.
Breakfast - oatmeal
Snack - sliver of white cake, no frosting
Lunch - gumbo and crackers
Snack - handfull of chips
Dinner - spagettie w/one piece toast
Snack - ice cream
Actually looks like a lot, but I ate very small portions. I started to feel bad again last night, but I just went to bed. When I woke up today, I was like

No exercise yesterday as DM came for dinner and we really haven't seen her for a couple weeks. April and I are taking the kids to the park tonight and walking at the track there. She will also have Luke (E's DS) with her, so the three kids should be able to keep each other occupied while we walk. I hope!

Work has been good this morning as I have gotten a lot accomplished. One of those days where I have gotten so much done, that by lunch, I'm like "Okay, that's enough for today". Unfortunately no one else ever agrees with me. :rotfl:

Oh, the No Buy July was completely blown today. My car had to have new brakes to the tune of $388. Yes, a complete new set with rotors. So let's recap on the car. May - new tires, June - new battery, July - new brakes. I hope I am set for a couple months. This car is kiling my budget. :sad2:

Lisa, so glad you are feeling better! I was beginning to worry about you. You must have just picked up a little bug someplace.

You will do this marathon and do it well given how hard you are working.:thumbsup2

Hope your walk went well tonight and that you are still feeling good!

I'm glad to hear that you are feeling better, Lisa!

How did your walk go last night?

Any special plans for the weekend?

Have a great day today!

Amy and Tracy, thank you both so much. Yes, I am feeling better. Much better. and I ate so much yesterday until I stopped myself. Guess was catching up. Today I did better.
Friday
Breakfast: pastry (I forgot to take my oatmeal)
Lunch: buffet (baked chicken, rice & gravey 2 and 1/2 rolls, cottage cheese and peaches and peach cobbler) small portions of everything cept the rolls.
Snack: can't remember
Dinner: buffet (Chinese) wasn't very good though, so I didn't eat much of anything. A small portion of noodles, some crab salad and cantelope.
Snack: bowl of cereal

Saturday
Breakfast: 2 cinamon rolls
Lunch: 6inch turkey sub and 1 cookie
Snack: 1 poptart
Dinner: bowl of cereal

Much better with food today.

Thursday's walk didn't go so well. I took Roo and stopped by a friend's to drop something off. She kept talking so Roo had to wait a while. At the track a new family who just moved in by it was outside and the girls wanted to meet Roo. I ended up talking to them for a while, actually until it was dark. Real nice family, I like them. But there aren't lights at this track yet, so we didn't get to walk much. I don't know who was more disappointed, me or Roo.

We picked up DS from camp this morning and was greeted with a surprise. This is a fun camp with a wide variety of activities. On check out day the theater kids put on a performance. DS was part of it. He said he when he heard the play "Little Mermaid" he wanted to be Sebastian. :confused3 He also played Prince Eric, because he was the only boy in the play. Well, they did have one of the counselors play King Titan. DS sang and everything. We were impressed and amazed. They all did a good job. He had a lot of fun and talked about it all the way home. He has already been invited to be a CIT next year and he is very interested. He has worked hard this summer and everyone he has worked for has been pleased with him. Can you tell I'm a proud mama right now? Sorry for rambling.

Hope everyone is having a great weekend.

Wow Lisa, that is awesome about your son, you should be proud. Isn't it great when our boys do something out of the typical teen boy box? Good for him!

I have had that happen so many times when I walk, I run into someone I know and it messes up my walk! But one night a bit off your normal routine and pace won't hurt and at least you got to meet a new family! Next time Roo may just revolt and take off on her walk, chatty neighbors or not!

Your food looks good!:thumbsup2

That's what she tried to do. She kept pulling at her leash, looking longingly at the track. Tonight we went back up there and for the first mile she walked to fast that we did 14 minute miles.:woohoo: Even the last lap, when I tried to do a cool down pace, she wasn't having any of it. :rotfl:

Today I woke up with a sinus migraine. Completely my fault this time. We had a hard downpour yesterday, so I went out to turn the compost. Big mistake. But I only missed a couple hours of work this morning. It wasn't completely gone the second time I woke up, but enough I could function. This afternoon went by very fast.
This evening I went to the school board meeting so E and I didn't get to walk together, which is why I took Roo later.

Food for today
Breakfast: breakfast bar
Lunch: cheese sandwich and chips
Snack: ice cream bar
Dinner: plain roll and bowl of cereal
Snack: cantalope and some chips

I hope everyone had a great day. Tomorrow (or actually today) I get to take DS to the dentist and then to school to try to get his schedule fixed.

Way to go on getting those walks in!!!

I'm sorry to hear about your sinus migraine. :( I hope you're feeling better today.

Sending :wizard::wizard: for the dentist appt and for getting your DS's school schedule fixed.

Have a great day!

Wow, can I borrowl Roo to help me get my walking pace up? That is great, you must be feelig very proud, that is a serious walker's pace!

Good luck getting your ds' schedule fixed, I can't believe its already time to be in the back to school mode.

I hope your headache is better, your food looks great!
