Lisa's Wish Journal - Now we have gone Dopey.

Hi Lisa, that is great news you lost 1.5 pounds, that is a serious loss!:cool1: Your hard work is paying off.

That is also great both kids liked school, high school is a big step for kids and parents! I am excited but also a bit uneasy about the work load for my son. Its nice when they send a syllabus home. I hope they get the bus thing worked out, two hours is way too long for a six year old or any other age to be on a school bus! I hope yours are airconditioned, ours aren't.:sad2:

You probably got a lot more activity yesterday than you think, some days just don't lend themselves to working out and a break can be a good thing!

Happy Weekend.:goodvibes

Thanks Amy
yes, the buses here are air conditioned. These kids are so spoiled. some of the buses even have radios on them. :confused3

Yesterday was a much easier day at work. A lot of people were off so it was quiet which is a good thing sometimes. Need a little pixie dust is anyone has any to spare. Okay a lot. I put in for a training class for this year and I want it so badly. I have wanted to go for the past two years, but our budget has been so bad that I have pulled mine back so others could do their stuff. This year I really want to go. The kicker? It's in Florida, Orlando, okay actually Lake Buena Vista, to be held at one of the Disney resorts. Two years ago it was at the Dolphin, but I would be happy if it was at CSR. The class is for three days, which means I would be gone for 5. I want to go so badly. Five whole days by myself, at Disney. and the class would be really beneficial. Oh, I hope, I hope

Food yesterday:
Breakfast: toast w/jelly
Snack: animal cookies
Lunch: cheese sandwich and 1/2 chocolate bar
Snack: bowl of cereal
Dinner: Copelands (crawfish bread and crab ravioli)
Snack: 2 pieces beef jerky

Only got in the exercise at work yesterday. Stairs, walking the building and to the main building once.

This morning I walked 5 miles.:woohoo: E made it 4 and 1/4 miles. We are doing good.:thumbsup2

Tonight April and Chloee are coming for dinner and DH will be grilling burgers. Her DH is fishing.....again.

Everyone have a great day.:flower3:

Sending lots of :wizard::wizard::wizard::wizard::wizard::wizard: your way. I hope you are able to go to the training in Orlando! :goodvibes

I'm glad the kids had a great first day of school!:thumbsup2

Congrats on the weight loss!:cheer2:

Hope you have a wonderful week ahead!

Thanks Tracy for the pixie dust. I can use all I can get. DH wasn't too happy when I told him I had put in for it. He travels all the time for work and pleasure, but when it comes to me going and leaving him with the kids.....well, that is a different story.

Saturday ended well. April and Chloee came over for dinner. DD got out the roller skates and Chloee (4) learned how to skate. Took right to it and she did great.
Food for Saturday:
Breakfast: cereal
Lunch: Bagel bites
Dinner: small salad and corn on the cob.

One thing I didn't mention about Saturday is the mower broke....again. DH was trying to fix it.....again. It is only six years old, but they are rather rough with it. So........after a bit of discussion off to the store he went (after checking consumer reports) and a few hours later he came home with.....a push mower. Ours had died at the beginning of the summer and he hadn't replaced it, just been using the week eater. But it was on sale he tells me. For $300:scared1: Oh, and the riding mower will be in on Tuesday.:scared1::sad2: He is reeking havoc with my budget I am trying to do.

Sunday was better. DD and I went to watch Chloee in a program at church. They were all angels in heaven, it was so beautiful. One of our friends led the program and danced a ballet in it. Never seen ballet in church before, but it fit. After church we went to their house for lunch and then home for a nap. Well, nap for me.
I tried to go to Walmart in the evening and once again go frustrated, left and went to Winn Dixie. They have completely messed up our Walmart under the guise of remodeling it.
Gram was over for a while, but got tired of the football game I think and left early. We are diehard Bills fans.

Food for Sunday:
Breakfast: cereal
Lunch: 1/2 baked chicken breast, salad and mac & cheese
Snack: more cereal
Dinner: 1 & 1/2 slices of cheese pizza
Snack: ice cream bar

No exercise on Sunday. We had some rather strong storms go through all afternoon. Every time we would think they were gone, some more would come up, so I didn't even try to go out. We do need the rain though.

Hope everyone has a good day today.

Sorry to hear about the lawn mower. :( I hope everything is fixed now. :goodvibes

You're doing a great job on food. Keep up the good work!:cheer2:

Hope you have a great day today!

I hope your training trip to WDW works out! You have my best effort with pixie dust coming out to you! Keep us posted. As for your husband alone with the kids, yeah, I can relate to that.;)

You are doing so great with your walks, five miles is awesome!!:thumbsup2

Don't ya just hate it when you click on the wrong thing? Let's try again.

Hello:wave2:

Sorry I wasn't on yesterday, busy day.
To finish Sunday, we are now the proud new owners of two, yes two new lawn mowers. The big one is sitting in my space in the garage. That and a bunch of DH's other stuff and toys. Gotta get it cleaned out before winter.

Yesterday was a busy day at work and then I went to a Jewelry Party in the evening. Fun, fun. I haven't been to one in about 8 years and have been invited to two in one week. Go figure. and I don't wear jewelry. But I do like parties. :thumbsup2 Didn't get to walk cause of the party.
Food Monday:
Breakfast: bagel
lunch: 2 slices pizza
Snack: cereal
Dinner: spagetti and salad

Today work was still busy, but not in a bad way. Lot of people out this week, so it is a nice break.
Storming this evening, so no walking again. Mostly thunder and lightening.

Food for today:
Breakfast: oatmeal
Lunch: fried shrimp on a bun
Dinner: cereal

I really screwed up with the fried shrimp. I haven't had anything fried in a couple of weeks and that was just a couple french fries. They didn't taste very good. I knew better, but for some reason really wanted it today. Paid for it later.

DS got his hair cut today for ROTC. He has had long hair for so long, it looked very strange. Not really long but over his ears and in his eyes. He looks so much like one of his cousins now, it's amazing.

DD and I are spending a quiet evening at home while DH and DS are at the Fire Department.

I forgot, I did get in some exercise today. I made sure and walked the stairs all day, even though once I did look longingly at the elevator, but I didn't give in.
Then before I went to bed, I did some leg lifts, sit ups and such. Better than nothing.

You're doing a great job with food, Lisa!:goodvibes Sorry to hear about the fried shrimp. I love, love, love shrimp, but sometimes, it doesn't love me back. ;)

Way to go getting some exercise in! Keep up the good work!:cheer2:

I did it again. Not sure how, but I lost an entire post. Okay, here we go again.

Hi Tracy
Sorry I haven't been around, I can't believe I haven't posted since Tuesday. This week has been busy at work even though a lot of people have been gone.

Tuesday we didn't get to walk due to thunder storms.
Wednesday we didn't get to walk as that is one of Gram's nights to come by for dinner.
I have made sure to walk at work, take the stairs and take the farthest route whenever possible. and I have tried to do some exercises at home.

Thursday we did get to walk but E could only stay for 45 minutes. She promised her DH she would be home by 8:00pm to get their youngest ready for bed. We are going to start meeting earlier so she can walk longer.
Thursday night, I was really tired so I went to bed early, before 9:30, which is unheard of for me these days.
In the early morning on Friday I woke up with a sinus headache. I got up and took something and then went back to bed. DH had to wake me up as I take the kids to school on my days off. I am happy to say I had them there on time.
I had a lot of errands to run on Friday and still had a bit of the headache, so when I got back home I laid down for a while. I went to bed early again on Friday when my friend called and said "I need you to pick out an American Girl for Aly". I'm like, "do I have to do it right now?" After asking me three times if I were sick, she finally told me no, I could pick out the doll on Saturday. Gee, thanks.

Saturday
E and I walked for just over an hour and did 4 miles. She couldn't stay any longer as she had to get home. I am beginning to worry that she isn't going to be ready for the marathon. We are going to have to figure out a way for her to stay longer so she can get more time in. I stayed and did another 1.5 miles. 5.5 miles is right where I wanted to be this weekend.:cool1: At least I am on track with that. I was a little slow today, but I always am after a sinus headache.

At noon today was the first part of my class reunion. How many years you ask? 25 years. This is the fourth reunion we have had and with the aid of the internet today was the most people we have had come. I was only going to do the daytime event, as a lot of drama went into the planning of this thing and I it really turned me off. The usual people didn't plan this one and things kind of got out of hand this time. Several people ask me to come tonight, but I had other plans. So I went to the other thing (Jewelry party, shhhhh don't tell them. I told them it was a work thing. Which wasn't a lie since almost everyone there was from work) and then I went to the night time event. I saw several people I hadn't seen in 25 years. It was interesting. and I am glad I went and had a good time. :goodvibes

Now due to my headache being completely gone and having taken a nap this afternoon, I am wide awake. So, I DIS.....and think.....and plan.

Hi Lisa,

Great job on those walks!! :thumbsup2 Keep up the good work!:cheer2:

I'm glad that you had a nice time at your reunion. :goodvibes

Sorry to hear about the sinus headache. :( I'm glad that you are feeling better!

Have a marvelous Monday!:cool1:

Thanks Tracy.
Yes, I am feeling better. This was a short one and I am thinking now, it may have had a bit of stress thrown in. Sunday was a low key day, just doing stuff around the house and Gram came for dinner.

Monday
I went to work as usual and the weird thing as I was leaving the house my back started to hurt. In the car I felt worse and almost turned around and came home, but I figured I would start feeling better when I got to the office. I didn't and after the sixth person told me how bad I looked, I decided to go home. After five hours in bed, I felt better. Not sure what I did.:confused3

While I was lying in bed, I brought my laptop in with me and was able to get $20 of Subway cards.
In the mail I received my TGI Fridays cards, so that is another $30.

E wasn't able to walk on Monday, so I took Roo. We did two miles and I had to stop. I was beat. You would think after lying in bed so much I'd have plenty of energy.

Today (Tuesday) was much better. Well, we do have two confirmed cases of swine flu, but those two were on a trip last week and not in the office. and we know where it came from. One person got it from a kid at church and passed it on. I cleaned the office today and the car they drove last week got a Lysol cleaning also.

We walked tonight and as usual I got busy talking and lost track of how far we walked. E did almost an hour and I did 1 hour and 20 minutes. Good work out. I would have kept going, but DD was with me and ready to come home.

140 days until we go to Disney for the marathon weekend. I'm not sure if I'm :woohoo: or :scared1:

Way to go on the gift cards!!!!:thumbsup2:thumbsup2

I'm sorry to hear that you weren't feeling well on Monday. I'm glad that you were able to go home and get some rest.

Only 140 days till Marathon weekend!!!:woohoo::yay::banana::cheer2: You are gonna do a great job, Lisa!:cheer2:

Have a wonderful Wednesday!

Thanks Tracy
Today was a good day. DH had to go away for a couple days and will be back on Friday. Short trip. Work was good and no one else has gotten sick yet. :goodvibes I hope to keep it that way. They keep laughing at me when I bring out the Lysol. :confused3 I don't want to get sick. I can do that well enough by myself. I definitly don't need any help.

Gram came for dinner tonight and then oldest DS came home early and hung out for a while. That's unusual. DD did homework and has already read another book and her reader. I explained it is one story a week not the whole thing in one week. Small reader and the stories are very simple.

I walked at work today and took the stairs and did a little extra exercise, but no track walking today. Typical day today, nothing new or exciting. Guess that is a good thing. :goodvibes

Lisa, don't get swine! During all my research on this thing, I saw several people say that nurses will put some Neosporin antibiotic ointment in their noses. I figure its worth a try!

You are right on track with your walking, good job!:thumbsup2 I am betting E will get some longer walks in as this thing gets closer. If not, well you are doing what you need to do and that is awesome.

I hope your headache is gone for good. I hate headaches. Weird about the back, you must have pulled something. And laying in bed wears me out more than anything else!

How are you doing today, Lisa? I hope you're having a good week so far. :goodvibes Any special plans for the weekend?

Have a nice evening!

Hi Ladies
Today was a good day. Didn't start off that way, but has ended that way.:goodvibes
Since DH is on a trip, I have to get the kids to school. He normally drives them, but that would put me two hours late to work, but if they ride the bus, then I am only one hour late. Well, DD didn't want to ride. It's boring, it's too long, she hates it, etc, etc. I finally told her that if she didn't ride the bus then no Jon & Kate + 8 this afternoon. She got on the bus, but whined and cried right up until the driver opened the door. :sad2:
I had to stop at the store on the way in, so I took a few extra minutes to just walk around and walk off the frustration. I don't feel right going in and taking it out on the guys.

Today was an easy day which was good. Got things done and hopefully tomorrow will be the same. Had a "Meet all the sports teams" at the high school tonight. They introduce all the kids on the various teams of the Jr High and High School and the band plays part of their Half Time show. DS is on the swim and soccer teams, so he had to go on the field twice. I thought it would be smart to take DD's homework for her to do while we waited for the program to start, but no:confused3 She needs a table to do her writing on. But it was worth a shot.

Tomorrow DD is going to spend the night with April and her DD and DNiece. On Saturday they are going to the Alligator Farm to hatch alligator eggs. I know:scared1: I told them to have fun and I'll look at the pictures later.

Also tomorrow DS is going on a lock in at the water park with the church. Seems several other youth groups will be there and they will be having a kind of Night of Praise.

Which means, DH and I get an evening to ourselves, if he gets home that is. He is on the West coast and sometimes has difficulties getting home on time. We'll go out to dinner and maybe a movie if he gets in on time.

Saturday, E and I are suppose to walk and I don't think we have anything else planned this weekend. I am going to clean house and grocery shop, but I say that every weekend. I do need to clean the garage as I am kind of planning to do a yard sale in October, so I need to start getting ready for it now. I hope to just rest and work on the computer for the rest of the weekend.

So, if I don't get on Tomorrow, you all have a great Friday. :grouphug:
