Disney World MultiPass Scheduling Woes

You can book an additional LL when one expires AFTER you have tapped into your first LL. Until then, it's a max of 3 you can hold.

This means that max of 3 is not correct as the expired ones are technically still in the system. And 'expires' means after the 1 hour block passes, correct? This at least helps me when my girls are at Dance The World as while I won't be able to tap into rides 5 min prior, I can stack after the 60 minutes / expiration date passes. It's better than nothing.

To be honest, the nature of this discussion is why I am reluctant to go to Disney unless I want to splurge on LLPP again. This is a quick budget trip.

I will get a LLSP for Guardians. I will buy a LLMP, but don't want it to turn into a giant headache. I want to ride Test Track, Soarin, Spaceship Earth, Living with Land, and Remy without forcing my husband to rope drop (because I want to make it to closing) or wait in a super long line. I want to wander the world showcase and eat, without backtracking. It will be Jan 3, so I know it will be crowded. We book eight days out, so should be able to get Guardians. Single rider is an okay alternative. I need an obvious plan of attack so I don't stress over booking the LL times at 7 a.m. the day after Christmas!

It shouldn't be this complicated. Is there a clear list of official and unofficial rules somewhere?
Disney is slowly making it more difficult to have advantage over the common folk that just walk into the park. IMHO, if you read for a few hours and learn a few basic rules, you are probably in the top 1-3%. It's clear I am more in the 2% rather than the 1% of the folks in here. For me, it's:

1) Modify is still #1 way
2) Use 5 minute rule to get another LL ASAP
3) Set timer for 60 minute mark to book expired LL
4) Utilize burners whenever possible
5) Don't zig zag
6) Book ASAP while respecting zig zag

No, this is wrong (unless you forgot to include the word “or” between “expires” and “AFTER”). You can book an additional LL after the first one expires. It doesn’t matter if you have tapped into anything yet or not. Tier restrictions are still in place, and it has to be in the same park, but you can definitely grab another one. I frequently stroll into the parks after my first LL has expired and have no problem grabbing another one before the first tap.

I don’t agree with #5. One of the keys to successful touring, especially in the evening, is understanding the crowd patterns and knowing when to zig when everyone else zags.
