Lisa's Wish Journal - Now we have gone Dopey.

Wow, that is great about your nephew, what an honor to graduate valedvictorian! Gald you had fun in Houston, its the only major city in Texas I have never been to!

Its okay to be ready to have some time away from your dm. I used to feel that way as well. Its perfectly natural! Everybody needs a break from the responsiblities of their life.

Your trip is so close! I wish we overlapped so we could meet up. Arent' you staying at SSR? I love that resort.

Hope you have a good week and that you get your work issue resolved. And glad Mr. Nix's service was nice and that is his grandson was able to attend. My condolences again, its so hard to have to say goodbye to the people we love and care about.

Okay, let's try this again. I had typed a post last night, hit send and then waited, waited, waited. DH came out of the office and said the internet went down, then suddenly I got the error message.

Thank you for hanging around. Yes, we are very proud of my nephew. He worked very hard for the honor.

Yes, I am very excited about our trip. I am almost in complete Disney mode. Tomorrow we are having a big open house at work for our new building. After that, countdown pages get posted and anything else I can think of to drive everyone nuts before I leave. Makes them miss me a bit less the first couple of days if I irritate them enough before I leave.

Yes Amy, our trips are so close yet we will miss each other. I am always hoping to meet someone there that I converse with here, but so far no luck. I am hoping that in January I'll get to meet a few.

I can't wait to stay at the SSR. I have seen it and it looks very nice. I have been busy working on the kids clothes and my dress. I hate being a last minute kind of person. I am working hard to break that habit. Thankfully I have the day off before we leave, of course who knows what will happen between now and then.

Got a nice little surprise at work today. We are able to print out our leave and earnings statements two days before payday and I had a bonus on mine. :cool1: Nothing big, but a bonus still. Then I had to ask who to thank for it. My supervisor did it since he has been getting so many thank yous for my help the past couple of months. :upsidedow

Congrats on the bonus, Lisa!!!!!:thumbsup2

Did you say you are staying at Saratoga? If so, do you have any plans to eat at their TS restaurant? We're trying to think of one more place we'd like to try on our trip in September and if you will be eating there, I'd love to hear a review! :goodvibes

I hope you have a great evening!

We don't have a ressi for there, we actually plan to eat all of our dinners at the villa except for the night we go to Victoria & Albert's. I did happen to remember today that we had planned for each couple to go to dinner on their own one night each while the others watched all the kids. I am kind of interested in that restaurant as I have heard good things about it. I'll let you know if that is where we end up.

Well I can vouch for Turf Club! I think its one of the best restaurants in WDW. Very nice and quiet, we love to eat on their patio at night, its so pleasant and relaxing. Artist Palette is good for cs, lots of nice choices. Sort of a weird set up since you pay for your food at the same register the gift shop uses. But the food is very good and they have a nice selection. I'll also tell you to make sure you go over to the quiet pool in Congress Park one night for a swim. Beautiful views of the river and DTD, they have some rocking chairs right at the edge to the river, just off the pool area and dh and I enjoyed sitting there and enjoying the lights and the boats. Okay, I guess I have droned on about SSR enough!

That is great you got a bonus, perfect timing. I did get to meet a disboarder in October. Did you ever see the Ultimate Fan's Guide to WDW on Travel Channel? One of the women on the show is Erica and she is a disboarder. I recognized her at the Epcot turnstile one night and we chatted, it was my first time getting to actually meet a disboarder and a celebrity one at that!

Enjoy your pre trip time, in some ways that is my favorite part of the trip and I am right there with you!

Okay Amy. I am definitely going to try to eat at the Turf Club. It sounds great. Thanks for the other info also. Rocking chairs by the river. Sounds like a perfect place to escape from the kiddos. Not that I ever really want to escape from them. :rolleyes1

Weighed this past Friday and no change, which is a good thing considering all I ate last week. Not sure why I did, but it happens. Not much exercising the past few days either.
DS made the high school soccer team (he'll be a freshman in August:scared1:) and had his first game last Thursday night. Normally I don't go to soccer games. I'm a protective mother and just can't handle watching kids run at him and kick balls at him, he's a goal keeper. But it was DH's bowling night, so I had to take him. The game was an hour away and no one told me that the field had been changed, so we ended up at the wrong field. Then I had to find the other field, which DS and his friend had both been to many, many times, yet couldn't tell me how to get there. :confused3 Boys! Finally found it with two minutes to spare and thankfully the game before theirs was running late. Whew! Plenty of time for DS to warm up. He didn't play keeper in this game as the coach is trying different players in different positions to see who can do what. The summer season doesn't count for anything, it is mainly to give the new players a chance to get a feel for high school playing. The next game is tomorrow night, which is normally a Fire Department night for DH, but he is going to skip FD so I can work on stuff for our trip. I am in the middle of making clothes for the kids and still working on my dress.

Ended up only getting three hours sleep, count them 3 hours, Thursday night, so I was really dragging Friday. I did get a lot of work done on Friday though. But I was in bed by 7:30 Friday evening. All the guys and big boys took Brad to a ball game for his birthday, so I got DD in her PJs and told her she could watch a movie in my room, but I had to go to sleep. I told her we would get up early on Saturday as she had a birthday party and we still needed to get the gift. I woke up about 8:45pm and she was asleep. :thumbsup2

Saturday DD had the birthday party in the morning, then we ran to Slidell to do some errands, then to E's for a Luau. We were celebrating E's DH's bday, and my DH's and April's past Bdays. Lots of fun and I didn't eat too much. Very proud of myself. Of course someone was there with a new baby and I got to hold him a lot. :cloud9: I love babies! Brad said he finally got some random pics of me smiling. (Big complaint is I frown too much. :sad2:)

Sunday I did the shopping for our trip, food for the kids for the week and then worked on the kids clothes and my dress.

Today I have to be at work, but so far it is going by fast. I have my count down calendar up and already have a lot of emails from the guys out in the field working. I sent out a message Friday that if they needed me to do anything before I was gone for 10 whole days, they had until Wednesday AM to get stuff to me. Looks like some of them actually took me seriously.

Long post, hope I didn't bore anyone too much. I will try hard to read everyone else's threads at lunch time or tonight. Hope everyone has a great day. I'm will be at Disney in 6 days!:woohoo::woohoo:

Your trip is so close, Lisa!!! I bet everyone is getting super excited! :woohoo:

I hope that you are able to get everything done on your to do list and that the week goes by quickly for you!:goodvibes:

Have a wonderful trip!!! I can't believe it is almost here!

Getting excited!?! That's an understatement.

My mind keeps running through the list of everything I still have to do and needless to say, exercise has gone out the window this week. E and I talked last night and we plan to start back Saturday night at the hotel. We will be getting in plenty of walking next week, but we are still going to try to get in our regular walk a few times next week. SSR looks like a good place to walk around. Unless I find those rocking chairs Amy mentioned. :rolleyes1

E's husband keeps waiting for panic to set in when crunch time starts with my not being done with all the clothes. I am not going to panic, repeat, I am not going to PANIC! But I do think I will probably be working on stuff Friday, which I didn't want to do. I am dealing with sinus problems this week and it is slowing me down. :headache:

Even though I am not getting to exercise this week, I am trying to be very careful of what I eat. Except yesterday at lunch. We had a going away luncheon at Ryan's and I love their rolls.:cloud9: Yes, I had a few.:guilty:

Sending lots of :wizard::wizard::wizard::wizard: to help you with your to do list....No worries, Lisa. You will get everything done!:goodvibes

I hope you're feeling better today.

Have a wonderful Thursday!:cool1:

Thanks everyone.

I am at work (shhhhhh) and super excited. I have 4 hours left to "work" today and then ON TO DISNEY. E called last night and wanted to walk, but Hello! I'm sewing! also had a headache yesterday. Actually had it since Sunday afternoon, but it was at it's worst yesterday. Sinuses...need I say more? With a bit of stress thrown in for good measure. The pressure was so bad that I actually filled out a leave slip to go home early yesterday, but was determined not to. I made it and then after DS' doctor appt and a trip to WalMart, I was able to lay down for an hour. I felt so much better after that. This morning my head finally didn't hurt anymore, just a little pressure left. I feel 100 times better today than I did yesterday.

My vacation officially starts for me today when I leave work at 3:30 (?). I have a super sweet boss who actually trys to understand me. Someone was trying to ask me to do something early and he walked by and asked them why they were bothering me. "don't you know she is already in vacation mode? she's not going to do it." he said.
I resemble that remark. I have worked this morning and have just a couple more things that "have to" be done before I leave and I can leave with no nagging thoughts of incomplete items. Plus if I sit in his office and talk Disney enough to him, he may very well tell me to go home early.:thumbsup2
Not that I would purposelly do that.:rolleyes1

Yes, I have many, many things to accomplish this evening and tomorrow and as long as no one gets in my way, everyone cooperates and all the stars are in alignment, I shall succeed.

Oh yes, I weighed this morning to see how bad I have been doing. I am happy to report that I am holding steady.

Ahhh Lisa, the fun begins, you are on VACATION:cool1::cool1:

You are probably floating on Cloud 9 right now! Your boss sounds great by the way.

I hope you get your sewing done. I can't wait to read your trip report and see how it all went. Just so bummed our trips don't overlap, I'd love to come meet you!

Good job watching the food, so often I am bad the week before I leave thinkign "oh whatever, I'm almost on vacation"! So good job with that.

That is great news about your son and soccer. We have sons the same age. Kinda scary thinking of having a kid in highschool huh?

Happy Vacation!!!

Hello all!:wave2: I'm back. Sorry to have been gone for so long. First, I couldn't get the internet to work at Disney. I couldn't even get the first page to come up. Guess something wasn't compatible with my laptop.

Since we have been back, I have been super busy. I was so busy before we left, getting things ready and all, that I kind of let things slide at home. Now I am trying to get things put away and the house back together. Also, my internet at home hasn't been working well. If I tried to do a post more than a few sentences, it wouldn't save them. I got kicked off of the internet a lot this past week.

We got home last Saturday at 4:15pm and DD had to be at the auditorium for her dance recital at 6:00pm. Just enough time to unload the truck and throw her dance stuff in the car, fix her hair and go. She did real well, but I hate she missed the rehersal. She was a little off the first dance, but did wonderful on the second one. Didn't want any pictures taken. I did get one of her with her trophy and her brother. She had been so good about pictures all week that I didn't really try to hard.

Sunday was spent resting, a bit of unpacking, going through all the mail and paying bills. I tried to go grocery shopping, but my car died. I called AAA and they said someone would be there in an hour and he would come to the front door of the store. Finally after multiple calls of him not being able to find me, I asked what his truck looked like, as I couldn't see a tow truck. He was in a car.:sad2: I'm thinking, if I need to be towed......:confused3 Thankfully he was able to jump my car and I got home. New battery. Really thought it was something more, but I'm glad it wasn't. Then the AC at home wasn't working well, so Tuesday I had to take a break to go home for the repairman. Thankfully all that was needed there was for both units to be charged. Now we have cool air again. Which is great since summer is HERE! and it is HOT!

This past Friday night we did a couple errands and then went out to eat for Father's Day. I thought DH was being considerate, as he knows I don't like to eat out on holidays as it is so crowded, but no, he wanted to be home to watch golf all weekend.
Saturday, I had my hair appt and then DD had two birthday parties. At least they were kind of near each other. The first started at 1:00 and the second at 2:00. I knew the second would go late, so we went to the first and stayed until 2:45 and then went to the second and didn't leave there until 9:00. They had the best water slide. DD was one of the last ones off of it.

Sunday (yesterday) I stayed home. Still just picking up around the house and working on plants in the yard. We haven't had rain for a few weeks now and everything is starting to die. I am having to water way more than I like to, but city water is better than nothing when it doesn't rain.

I have not had any exercise since we first left for Disney. Of course with all the walking you do at Disney, I guess that can count, but I haven't done any since we have been back. E and I were going to start back this week on our schedule, but then I realized that we can tonight, but then tomorrow is DS' last soccer game for the summer and April wants to go, so I'll be going and Thursday we leave to go to NY for a long weekend. Another nephew is graduating so we will fly up Thursday, graduation on Friday, party on Saturday and fly home on Sunday. We don't normally do such quick trips up there, but that is how it is working this year. DS will be staying for a couple weeks and DH will be flying back up next Thursday and they will be going to the mountains for a week with the folks up there. We would normally all go to the mountains, but this year it just didn't work out.

Next week E will be going on a business trip, so I guess it is going to be a couple more weeks until we can get back on our walking schedule. I hope we haven't lost too much ground.

It's good to be back and thanks to everyone for the well wishes before my trip. I'll try to read everyone else's journals at lunch time today.

Welcome Back, Lisa! :cool1: I hope everyone had a great time at WDW!:goodvibes Looking forward to your trip report... :cheer2:

Have a great evening!

Thanks Tracy, it was hard coming back. As soon as I can get some pics loaded into photobucket so I can post them I am going to start my trip report. I am having internet problems at home.

Where did I leave off before.
Monday afternoon I left work early to relieve April of the kids so she could go to a doctors appt. They were good. I kept trying to get them to take another nap but they wouldn't hear of it. :confused3

Monday evening, E and I (and her DS Joseph) walked. We did 45 minutes together, but I had gotten to the track before them and walked about 10 minutes before they got there. Even as tired as I was I could have kept going. I stopped though as I didn't want to over do it.

I have begun working on a budget spreadsheet and have decided to go back a couple months to see if I can figure out where all of our money is going. Since we have two trips this month, I had decided to start a budget in earnest beginning of July. I really want to get a handle on things. I think we have lots of unnecessary spending.

Tuesday, DS had his last summer soccer game. April and her DD Chloee came over for dinner and then went to the game with us. DS got to play goal keeper for almost the full second half and did a good job. This was his first time playing goalie for high school. He had five saves and only one goal scored on him. The previous goalie had two goals scored on him, but I didn't count his saves. He did a good job also. unfortunatly they lost. But it was good experience for DS.
Didn't get any walking in on Tuesday.

I hear ya on the budget thing...When we first started doing the FPU classes, we were watching every penny coming in and going out. Now, not so much. I need to go back and look at our spending too especially since we still have our WDW trip to save for...

Congrats to your DS! It sounds like he did a great job as a goalie!!:cheer2:

I hope your internet issues get resolved soon.:wizard: Looking forward to your trip report!:thumbsup2

Have a great day!

Today was a ssssllloooowww day at work. The morning drug by. Then I collect one of my lunches today and we tried a new seafood restaurant. I had shrimp and crawfish etouffee. It was good. I left work a bit early to take DS to a doctor appt and then picked up the girls. April was not feeling well and was headed to the Urgent Care when she left. I never heard from her this evening, so I am going to take that as she is okay. I don't think she had a good day with the kids today. :sad1:

Didn't get any walking in today although I did do a bit at work. Around the building about 5-6 times and across the street once. Across the street is a good 10 minute walk each way.

We have spent the evening packing as we leave at 3:30am for New York. Another nephew is graduating from High School. We are flying to this one. We live 1.5 hours from the airport and our flight leaves at 6:00am. I am trying to get all of our stuff into two bags to save on the bag fees. Not sure if I am going to succeed. It is now 1:21am and I am still washing clothes. I'll sleep on the way to the airport and then, hopefully, on the plane. I do not like flying, so sleeping is a good alternative.

I am so late washing clothes cause it has been so long without rain here, that everyone is watering their lawns..... a lot. Guess what happens to the water pressure when a multitude of people are runnng multiple sprinklers. It's gone. I haven't wanted to run the washer on low water. Hope it rains soon. Some dark clouds came up tonight, but nothing here. I pray we get some soon.

I doubt I will get to walk today, but I will probably get in some time on Friday and Saturday. I get up early, before everyone else, so I should be out and back before the rest of them are up each day.

Have a safe trip to New York, Lisa!

Thank you. If we ever get there......at the moment we haven't even left New Orleans. We are stuck in the airport. It seems at 3:00am Delta decided to move our connection in Atlanta and then decided we wouldn't make the connection with the new time. So in their infinite wisdom, some jerk moved us from our 6:00am flight to an 8:45am flight. Now instead of arriving in NY at 11:45am we will arrive at 4:45pm. Three hour wait in New Orleans and three hour layover in Atlanta. Had we known last night I would have gone to bed and slept a little. When we do this flight I always stay up and then sleep on the plane. I truly detest flying and it is the only way I can make it. Now I am sitting in the airport, sleep deprived, and snapping at everyone. I have been awake for 27 hours now. I am not nice when I don't have at least a little sleep. DH keeps trying to think of alternate ways to get us there earlier. What I don't understand is why we were moved off of our 6:00am flight. I would much rather be in Atlanta than here. It is a much larger airport with lots to do. Here I paid $5 for a biscuit, $3.35 for milk and am freezing. I am so not happy right now. We should have driven.

Okay rant over........unless a Delta employee happens to read this and respond. Anyone know what the weather is to be in Atlanta this afternoon? I have this bad feeling we won't be leaving there "on time" either.
