LINK TO MY TR POSTED 10/30 - I'm Ali & I'm Addicted to Disney Planning - Oct '10 PTR

So as you know, we are going to MNSSHP the night we arrive, which is 10/19..and then again on 10/26. Well, after some serious thinking, we have pretty much decided not to dress up for the party on 26th. We're really bummed about it but we had fun dressing up in 2007 and 2009, but we just can't afford costumes this year. That would be an extra $100+ just for costumes that we just can't justify spending on something we will probably never wear again. Plus, we were having a really hard time agreeing on what to be in the first place. Women's costumes are mostly just inappropriate for a family event (which means I would never be comfortable in it anyway), Lumar wanted to go as similar things (we thought about cavemen, indians, mobsters, vikings, geisha/samurai, etc) but in those cases it was the mens costumes that were the problem. They are all long sleeves and pants! It's going to be 90 degrees so there is no way that would work. And Lumar vetoed pirates from the very beginning because it's "overdone." So it was just too much of a pain and too much money.

If this changes for whatever reason, I'll be sure to let you guys know!

You know what you could do for the second party that would be really cheap and still funny? Sleeping-in-day people! You could get a $1 shower cap and put it on and just come in your pajamas and he could not shave and come in his pajamas! :teeth:

Last year my then boyfriend and I had shirts that had Homer and Marge on the front and wore those to MNSSHP. Can you do something simple like that so you don't have to blow money on costumes? Or even buy or make some Halloween shirts for the occasion?

I was thinking about just buying some Halloween T-shirts (they have some at Old Navy) and wearing those, and then wearing a Disney hat with some character ears (Lumar has a pirate banana with Pluto ears and I have Minnie ears), or just picking up the MNSSHP 2010 t-shirt on the 19th and wearing those on the 26th.

I came on late but have really enjoyed reading your PTR. I laughed quite a bit, I love that I am not the only list making, mind changing Disney loon out there. My hubby thinks I am nuts with all my lists.

I love your ideas. Can't wait to hear the results of the predicting what each other are going to eat. That sounds fun. I am bringing that one up to my hubby, Dan tonight, see what he thinks about it.

Thanks for sharing your old trip pics too, I loved looking at the ones form '06, that was great. I love to see other adults especially guys get into disney. Like my hubby says, it's wierd something just happens once you arrive, you leave your adulthood behind you and become a kid again.

I can't wait, but we have a long haul yet. Time to go look at my itinerary and see what I can change or move around, lol.

Lumar yells at me all the time for changing my mind about things (589 times), and making 153 lists for the same thing! I'll have 4 or 5 versions of a grocery list between my desk at work, my pocketbook, and the car. I printed out our packing list the other night and made notes on it so now I have to edit it and reprint it!

Thanks! Lumar has yet to post his guesses...I need to remind him about that...

It's true! We try on silly hats, collect/trade pins, go trick or treating, meet characters... you really can just completely let go of adulthood while you're in WDW!

It will be here before you know it! I started my countdown with like 230 days and now I'm down to 26! It seems like it's dragging, but then all of the sudden you're packing!

Thanks so much for reading! I'm gonna hop over to your PTR to catch up!

I don't blame you for not wanting to spend money on costumes, they are expensive!! And women's costumes are ridiculous, so skimpy! :sad2: I would do what you suggested, just wear a cute Disney hat and Halloween shirt. I was in Wal Mart today and they had some really adorable Halloween shirts, I was considering buying one for work! And I think Target has some too!:cool1:

I really hate buying shirts at Walmart! They always shrink after the first time I wash them! I'll try to check out Target this week though...otherwise, I know Old Navy has some so I'll just stop there again!

First, yay for under 30 days!!!!

Second, I continue to love the flashback pictures. My favorite is the one of you on Dinosaur. :rotfl:

OK so after a week of talking about it, my bathroom is finally clean! I left work early today to come home and do some cleaning and stopped after the bathroom! :rotfl2: Maybe I'll get the living room done at least before I have to go pick up Lumar at 5:30....maybe

Oh, and in 25 days we'll be arriving at Paradiso 37 for our dinner ressie and then headed off to MNSSHP! :woohoo:

Thanks, Kathy! I like looking back through the old pics. And yeah, I STILL have that reaction on Dinosaur! Now STOP DISING FROM VACATION! :rotfl2:

Congrats on getting the bathroom done! I am sitting here rather than doing the two I need to get to. Ug...days off should NOT be for cleaning.

I just saw that too, finally! It's about time, I always thought closing at 7 was a little ridiculous! :cool1:

I know, right!? Although we'll be watching Illuminations anyway so I don't know why I care! Maybe we can get FPs for Soarin' for like 8pm and then head back to WS for the fireworks.... :scratchin:

Seriously! I totally agree! There is so much that needs to get done but no one wants to do MORE work after they just got out of WORK and obviously, working on a day off is just wrong. I need a week off from work just to clean my house. And I live in a 2 BR apartment. It's sad, really! :sad2:

Gosh I'm late! I'm so sorry to hear about Lumar's mother.

Wow you ARE late! :rotfl2: JK!!! Thanks...it was really rough last year!
Good to "see" you again! We FINALLY moved out of my parents house! :rotfl2:
