LINK TO MY TR POSTED 10/30 - I'm Ali & I'm Addicted to Disney Planning - Oct '10 PTR

Hey Jen! I've been lurking around most trip reports these days! My computer at work has a firewall that makes it hard to get on the DIS! It messes with the pictures and the formats, and trying to DIS from cell phone is just not worth it! Glad you like the pics! I can't wait to start framing some of them!

Just in case no one has mentioned it to you in the last couple of days, Star Tours will definitely be closed until through May because it's being completely overhauled, and One Man's Dream will be closed from August - November.

I would go crazy at work without the DIS!

I read about Star Tours. Oh well! One Man's Dream is a bummer too, I really enjoy walking through that at DHS.

I'm usually sitting there bored out of my mind! Occasionally, I will log in from my phone, it just goes SO SLOW! Plus it kills my battery! But if I'm desperate enough, I'll do it!

I'm bummed about Star Tours, but the last few times I rode it I got a bad headache from being bounced all over the place. I remember my cousin gushing about this ride when he was like 10 years old...he's now 23! So it was long overdue for a refurb!

We FINALLY got our $50 Landry giftcard in the mail! I feel like it took forever! We now have $75 in giftcards to use at either Yak & Yeti or T-Rex! :woohoo:

I've given up on finding a new suitcase in time for our trip :sad2:
They're just too dang expensive and we have other things to worry about. I'll put it on my Christmas list, but for this year, I think I'll be using one of the Disney duffle bags I bought on a previous trip. I may pack two and bring one as my carry on bag. Since I still get one personal item as well, I may bring the backpack with me too, in addition to Lumar's (which we usually bring to the parks since it's more comfortable to carry), but I'll have to see how it all works out when I'm actually packing.

After looking at the pictures of the new Via Napoli restaurant in Epcot, I strongly considered changing ressies again. But I think we will save it for next year....I kind of like our ADR schedule right now!

Our countdown is at 75 days! We should be getting Mickey Mail soon!! Ok like in another 6 weeks, but still!! :rolleyes1

Ditto on the headache! It's about time it was updated. Have they updated Muppets 3D? That's a little outdated too.

I saw the article on Via Napoli but I'm afraid to look. It'll make me want to change all my ADRs around and I've already done enough changing!

I'm only going for 5 nights but I think I'm bringing two suitcases. One I can use as my carry-on and the other I can check. We're flying jetblue so there are no fees for the first checked bag. I don't want to cram everything into one suitcase, buy stuff in Disney, and then worry about it being overweight. I'll use my carry-on as my souvy suitcase!

Ahem, 6 weeks is soon considered how long we've already been waiting!!!!

Do you mind me asking what you paid for the photo program?

Muppets has yet to see an update

I didn't want to look at the Via Napoli menu either! All I looked at was the pictures of the inside of the restaurant and it looks so pretty in there that the pics alone made me want to go there!

We are also flying JetBlue and I normally pack a duffle bag anyway for souvenirs.... I'm thinking I'm going to cut way back on the amount of clothes I bring on this trip since I never wear everything. That should allow me to enough space in one duffel for my actual packing and that way I can use the spare duffel to ship home anything we buy.

It's true! I started my countdown when I had over 230 days to go! Now we're down to 75 and it's VERY exciting!

I actually didn't pay anything for it! I borrowed the disk from a friend of mine...she paid around $100 for it but she is a professional photographer and could afford it

I overpack too and don't end up wearing half of what I bring. I may do what some people on DIS do and just plan my outfits out a bit more. Not what I'm wearing to what park on what day, just in general so I don't end up throwing everything I own into a suitcase!

I always bring way too many shirts! I pack almost every shirt I have because I know that I will be really picky about what I wear on certain days. But then we get to WDW, I end up hating everything I brought and buy new shirts in the parks. So this year, I'm taking all of my Disney T-shirts that I've collected over the last couple of trips, and a few tank tops just in case (although I burn really easily so the less skin I expose, the better), and call it a day! I bought some capris last year that ended up not fitting me when our trip rolled around because I gained about 20lbs last year :rolleyes1) but I'm hoping they fit me this year! I've been on Weight Watchers since February and going to the gym (although not as frequently as I should). I've dropped about 15lbs to I'm hoping to lose another 10-15 before our trip and if I can manage that, I should be able to bring those new ones with me!

For anyone interested in Paint Shop Pro, I'm pretty sure Corel still has a free trial on their website, but it's only either 14 or 30 days. I bought the program several years ago when I was considering going into graphic design and still play with it from time to time :)

it is a very good program and it's similar to the old program I was using so a lot of it was familiar to me. I am beside myself about taking new pics at WDW this year just so I can fiddle with them in Paint Shop! :rotfl2:

Congrats on losing 15 lbs! I have been buying tank tops like a mad woman this summer. :rotfl: Old Navy had a $2 tank sale so I cleaned up there! I have a lot of options to choose from and if I don't narrow it down, I will pack everything! I'll worry about that once the trip gets closer...

:rotfl: It will be here sooner than you think. I can't believe how fast time is going by.

I changed around our schedule again! Which means I also changed around our ADRs again! :rotfl2:

It's nothing drastic....same restaurants and approximately the same times, I just swapped a couple of days.

We were originally scheduled to go to MK on our lst day, 10/28. We have breakfast at The Wave at 9:30 and then dinner at Ohana at 5:15.

But we already have a full day scheduled for MK on 10/23, pluse we'll be at MK for the Halloween Party on both 10/19 and 10/26. So we decided to change the 28th to Epcot and see Illuminations again before we leave. Since our ADRs are at resorts on the monorail line, we didn't need to change them at all.

However, we were also scheduled to be at Epcot on 10/27 and Lumar didn't want to do the same park 2 days in a row. So I swapped Epcot on 10/27 with AK on 10/25, and then had to just move our ADRs around.

So our new schedule looks like this:

Tuesday October 19:

Arrival Day
Dinner at Paradiso 37 @ 4:30pm
MNSSHP @ 7pm

Wednesday October 20:
Epcot
Lunch at Nine Dragons @ 1pm
Dinner at San Angel Inn @ 7:15pm

Thursday October 21:
Hollywood Studios
Breakfast at Captain's Grille @ 9:15am
Dinner at Grand Floridian Cafe @ 5:15pm

Friday October 22:
Animal Kingdom
Dinner at Yak & Yeti @ 5:15pm

Saturday October 23:
Magic Kingdom
Breakfast at Kone Cafe @ 9:20am
Dinner at The Plaza @ 5:05pm

Sunday October 24:
Hollywood Studios
Breakfast at Cape May Cafe @ 9:40am
Dinner at Sci-Fi @ 4:50pm

Monday October 25:
Epcot
Breakfast at Grand Floridian Cafe @ 9:15am
Dinner at Biergarten @ 5:15pm

Tuesday October 26:
Free Day
Mini Golf at Fantasia Gardens
Dinner at T-Rex @ 5pm
MNSSHP @ 7pm

Wednesday October 27:
Animal Kingdom
Breakfast at Tusker House @ 9:25am
Dinner at Jiko @ 7:10pm

Thursday October 28:
Epcot
Breakfast at The Wave @ 9:30am
Dinner at Ohana @ 5:15pm

I think I'm REALLY done making changes now!

I have to go home and dig out my duffel bags....I think I'm going to try a practice-pack and see how things would fit. We're also making some progress on our costumes for the Halloween Party! I think we've finally decided on what we want to do, but we're keeping it a secret!

OK I think I might make one more change :rolleyes1 but I have to talk to Lumar about it tonight first!

OK, so after some more obsessing we decided not to get a cake this year.

For one, they can get expensive, and for another there are just too many wishy-washy reviews. Some people have a great experience and some have a terrible experience. We just aren't prepared to spend a bunch of money on a cake the ends up in the trash, despite how pretty it may look.

So since we no longer need to be at any particular resort to get a cake, I decided to switch us from dinner at the Grand Floridian Cafe to dinner at 50's Prime Time. We will be in DHS that day anyway, and we really want to see Fantasmic. Mama Melrose's only available time slot was 6pm which is too late since Fantasmic will start at 7:30pm. I never had any interest in eating at 50's PTC, but what the hey. So here is the new itinerary for Thursday October 21:
Hollywood Studios
Breakfast at Captain's Grille @ 9:15am
Dinner at 50's Prime Time @ 4:15pm

Ironically, after all I went through to change it, we also decided to go back to our original time of 3:30p[m for our dinner at T-Rex on our free day. Since we are going to the Halloween Party this night and it will be the night we wear costumes, I didn't want to have to go back to CSR and rush to shower and change then get back on a bus to MK for the party. By having dinner at 3:30, we can be back at CSR by 5 and be at the party right for 7pm.
Tuesday October 26:
Free Day
Mini Golf at Fantasia Gardens
Dinner at T-Rex @ 3:30pm
MNSSHP @ 7pm

I think I'm done now. But there ARE still 73 days left until we actually GET to Disney and work is so slow right now, it should be a crime. Lumar is getting paid almost $19 an hour to sit around and do school work, and I'm getting $18 an hour to re-read the Harry Potter books. I restarted the series the weeks ago and I'm already on book 5! I was on the phones for 2.5 hours today and didn't get a single call. For the Escalated Issues Resolution Team at a health insurance company, that's saying something!

You crack me up! I think we are cut from the same cloth!

I can't stop changing things! I'm so bored during the day! Hopefully this is the last time though! I can't think of any reason why I would change anything else!

It's just funny to me that I had everything all laid out, then I made a bunch of changes, and then changed everything back to the way it was. Go figure :sad2:

I just posted my itinerary on my PTR and after looking at it, I'm NOT happy with it, so I know I'll be changing it in the next 97 days! Probably a few times, so I can relate!

50's sounds good, I've always wanted to try that place, but I never get around to it, I love Mama Melrose's too much!

Ummm...where do you work!!! :rotfl: Can you get me a job? We both live in CT...I'll commute to get paid that much! :)
