Glad you found a ride to the airport, parking at White Plains is a pain, I know, I learned the hard way too! :confused3 I'm glad Jet Blue is going to be flying out of Hartford soon, in case I ever want to use them again! They're starting to fly out of Hartford a few days after I leave for my trip in November so I just missed using them again!

That is crazy! The off site parking where we usually park its 6.50 a day (with online coupon). :rotfl:

We told the people that we would pay them $30 each way... we live 45 miles from the airport, though.

This is directly from the website:
http://www.whiteplainsairport.com/pages/parking.shtml

Parking Fees (Starting Aug 1st, 2010):
$3.15 per hour
$26.10 daily maximum for a 24 hour period

There is currently a shortage of long-term parking at the airport.
TRAVELERS URGED TO GET RIDES TO THE COUNTY AIRPORT

I'm guessing that they have seen a sudden rise in travelers. Most people would fly out of LaGuardia or JFK but Westchester has had really competetive fares lately so they probably weren't prepared for the influx of people.

Yeah we just missed it too... Thankfully, our problems for this year are solved but at least the next time we go we know we can go back to Bradley.

Yeah they had that little warning when I went there in May too...we were really worried we wouldn't find long term parking, so we called there and told them what time we would be arriving, (early, like in the middle of the night!) and they said as long as we got there by 5am, we would be ok. We were RACING to get there before 5, it took us almost 2 hours to get there when it should have taken a little over an hour, because as you know living in CT, they are constantly doing construction on 95 so we kept getting stuck in traffic! :scared1: And then when we finally got there, we found out that half of the parking garage was closed because they were doing construction on that! And the place is tiny to begin with! Ugh...so annoying! :rotfl:

Wow I am glad that I didn't decide to just park there then! I'm planning to take the Merritt down - a friend told me it's like the first exit off the Merritt once you get into NY, but even THAT is under construction down in the Trumbull/Fairfield area. :sad2: You really can't go anywhere these days without hitting some kind of construction. And my favorite is when the site is closed for the weekend or a holiday or whatever, but they just leave the giant yellow trucks in the middle of a lane with cones around it....

I'm glad the transportation worked out well!!

Any clues on what costumes you'll be sporting?!

I'll tell you so that you can find us at MNSSHP on the 26th, but everyone else has to wait til they see the pics! It's a surprise! We still haven't ordered them yet so probably this week when we get paid we will have them shipped so that we can try them on and everything.

In the meantime....

ETA:

BTW I finally finished our scrapbook from our WDW trip last October! I only had 5 more pages to do and it took me until 2am this morning to do it, but I was NOT going to bed until it was done! I'm planning to get started on my Mousekeeping envelopes today!

OK so this is my first ever attempt at Mousekeeping envelopes. They're not stellar, but they'll serve the purpose!

Your white board is adorable, and I love your mousekeeping envelopes! I printed mine out from Mouseforless, since I'm so not crafty and would have gotten annoyed with making them myself :lmao:

Yeah we tried 95, then we ended up on the Merritt, then the Merritt had construction so we were back on 95, then we went back to the Merritt...lets just say I was in a panic the whole drive down, I was convinced we were going to miss our plane or get there and not find a parking space! :scared1: But once we got on the Merritt the last time it was fine, it is like, the first exit once you get into New York, or it might even be the last exit in CT, I forget, but you have to drive on some back roads for a distance. It's a little weird, you will think you're going the wrong way because you are just driving by houses and you think "there can't possibly be an airport back here" but there is, it's like, hidden away, it's so weird! Totally different than going to Bradley! :rotfl:

I love your countdown board, I love Hello Kitty! :cool1: I meant to start a countdown calendar today but I fell asleep for a while and now it's too late to go out and get everything I need. :(

The mousekeeping envelopes are cute too! I do the same thing with mine, decorate them with stickers! I don't make mine til the week of my trip though, I like to wait! :cool1:

Thanks! My mom bought it for a couple years ago and it's counted down the days for 5 Disney trips now, including this one! It fell off the wall once and that bottom corner broke off but it still serves the purpose!

The envelopes were surprising easily once I got the hang of it. If I get bored, I may make more. For now though, I'm excited at the prospect of having our kitchen table back now that the scrapbook is done. At least until we come back from this trip!

The highways in CT are just awful! Thanks for letting me know about the directions though! I definitely would have been confused driving by a bunch of houses when I'm supposedly looking for an airport! Good to know!

I also love Hello Kitty! I had a bunch of Hello Kitty stuff that my parents collected for me over the years and I ended up selling a lot of it a tag sale a couple years ago. I'm still mad I sold it, but nothing I can do about it now! My mom went to Hawaii a few years ago and bought me a TON of Hello Kitty stuff from there (all straight from Japan), including my lunch bag that I use everyday. Yes, I am 27 years old and show up to my nice boring desk job in a call center everyday with a Hello Kitty lunch bag! Hello Kitty is the reason I end up spending a ton of money in the Japan pavilion in Epcot! I can't wait to peruse Mitsukoshi this year for some new stuff!

The only reason I made mine now is because I wanted to clean the scrapping stuff off of my kitchen table! It's been my stand-in scrapping table since I don't know when....March probably at least.... It will be nice to have the table back for a little while!

Yay I'm caught back up again!

Glad you got the transportation issues worked out. I'm still working on that myself...

Also, those envelopes are super cute and creative! Love them!

The mousekeeping envelopes are cute! Love them! Especially the one with Daisy and the broomstick, so cute and you never see her anywhere! She gets no respect!

All caught up, haven't had much time to DIS lately!

Thanks! I agree, Daisy gets left out of everything! I'm glad I had a sticker for her so she could be included.

I feel like I'm having the opposite problem ...all I have is time because things are so slow at work. I've broken down and started DISing from my phone just to have something to do. It's painfully slow (not to mention a small screen means small writing), but I need to do something!

My job will slow down once Labor Day passes. Then I will have plenty of time til DIS up until, oh March or April.

since we got bought out and are ultimately closing...i think it's safe to say that business will not pick up for us

I think I concur with that statement

It wouldn't be so bad if I had something to do to pass the time. But the lack of work and the lack of other things to do to keep me busy is just making the time drag at an unbelievable rate. I'm already on the 6th Harry Potter book.... I was hoping that rereading that series would keep me busy until we leave for WDW but considering that it's only taken me since mid June to read through 5 books, I don't see myself taking another 43 work days to read through two books.

And yes, 62 more TOTAL day....only 43 days of work remain for me! :woohoo::banana:
