Oh my gosh, that is such a neat story about your cousin! You definately have that "Disney love" in your blood then! :)

I DO, TG! I am so excited to get it from my folks so I can post it!

I wouldn't have needed one day. 10 minutes would have done the trick!

Nope. It's for the dumb and ordinary. Although, botox is sounding better and better for these crow's feet that have mysteriously appeared this year. It's like my eyes are in competition with elm tree I see out my window to see who can have the most textured "bark".
Don't you dare! I'll personally come and spank you if you inject that nasty poison into your beautiful face. That stuff is nasty business. I don't know if I would ever have a procedure done or not, I've teased my DH by saying someday I would like a suck , tuck and fluff instead of having a mid-life crisis consisting of a divorce, and riding on the back of a Harley in chaps with some guy name Thor.
He of course just looked at me trying to think of which comment to respond to first. He finally collected his thoughts enough to ask what was a ......suck, tuck and fluff. I excitedly said.."Oh! (as I pointed to various spots and said) I would like it sucked out of here, this tucked here, and this fluffed up here, a Suck, Tuck and Fluff!" :)
 This was his face, and said well if it keeps you off the back of the bike with a guy named Thor wearing @ss-less chaps, then I'm all for it! :rotfl:

That would be nothing new.
Hmmmm, not sure how to take that....;)

Speaking of wine, I think I shall enjoy a nice red tonight with my baked chicken. Sounds delightful. I like mine fruity as well. My drinks that is! (Sounded kind of funny when I wrote it- so I needed to clarify!)
 I didn't think alcohol was leagal in Blank-a-Stan?

I have the list printed off, but I"m not sure I'd know where to go when I decided on one!
I'm with you there. However, I do think Cynthia posted the drinks according to the place that serves them.

Depeche Mode did a really cool version of Route 66!! Cyndi Lauper was OK...Depeche Mode was better though. You're all prolly all thinking what kind of teen I am. a weird one for sure!
Your not a weird kid at all, my son has heard most of what my DH and I use to listen to by way of either the CD's we've play or SIRIUS radio on the 80's station....I'd say for the most part he doesn't like most 80's music. But he does like to listen to the B-52's:, Depeche Mode, Oingo Boingo, and The Police. I'm sure if I played more of the music mentioned here by Ty he would probably like it.

For everyone but Liesa (don't want her reading ahead -- she'll get to it), here's the post in my TR where I mention mine, 2nd paragraph.
That would be a funny name to have! :rotfl:

Where do I apply? I mean, seeing how you're not in the job anymore Camille.
Dooowwwn boy!

So, you think Judy would let you take that job?? You do remember she works with knives, right???
She's got a good point here Glenn. I like the way you think Liesa. :thumbsup2

depeche mode.....:lovestruc I have their cd in my mom-mobile.......
you may now continue...

 Oh, Matron of the Mini-Van! :worship: Winkers, what other CD's do you listen to in your Mini?

As long as we're aging ourselves, let's also just mention The Cure, Fleetwood Mac (some of their 80's stuff was pretty good), and Elton John. :rolleyes1

Now, I've continued and feel rather oldish.
Love all of them!! And I don't feel the slightest bit old saying it. I listened to a lot of cure in my day, I never went as far as to cut my hair short to model after the New Wave look, but loved the music! Like Fleetwood Mac, I think I like Stevie better on her own. I did get to see Elton John in concert a few years back. He's not that impressive in person these days, not like his crazy ways back in the day. No costume changes into his outlandish outfits, just a piano on the stage and a cooler (big ugly blue one) off to the side with lots of Diet Coke. He was still good.....just not what I was expecting from him considering he's always said he's more a of a performer rather than a musician :confused3, I wonder what it takes to be a musician in his eyes?

If I start aging myself. Okay I was the Beatles ERA!!!!! Paul McCartney all the way!!!!
Hmmmmm, a Brit who loves the first British boy band. Now who would have thunk it?!? :rotfl: ;) Just messin with you Rose.

The answer to the last clue was found IN THE TEXT, but was cleverly disguised. Now does it pop out at you?

I thought it'd be a good idea to list all of our mess hall stops in one place, just to make sure everyone's on the same memo. Let's take a look:

Biergarten
Teppan Edo
California Grill
Kona AND Kona Sushi Bar
Beaches n Cream
Sanaa
Jiko
Starring Rolls
Wolfgang Puck Express-Plan on eating here next visit
Boma (notice the AK Trifecta) Loved eating here, plan on eating here twice on our next visit. :lovestruc Outstanding food!
Columbia Harbor HouseLiked eating here. I liked eating upstairs where it was a little more away from the crowds, and it's a lot more quite, food wasn't to bad for fast food. Cosmic Rays had better IMO
Riverside Food Mill at POR
Caseys
Flame TreePlanned to eat here next visit
'OhanaPlan to eat here for our next visit too.
Afternoon Tea at the Grand Flo.
Either Cantina de San Angel OR Tangierine CafePlease eat at Tangierine! San Angel's food was nasty! I think living in Texas has spoiled me.
Pecos Bills

Now that we've gotten them all on one page, tell everyone, from this list, which one would be, is, or has been your favorite and why. Was it the food, service, theming, best memory?? If you could pick one place which one would it be? Are there certain things we should know before going??
Wish I could help you out more in this area, you've picked just about every place I haven't eatin at! I loved Boma's! There are so many wonderful things to try! I loved eating at Crystal Palace for breakfast, again so many choices to pick from. This was one cool buffet for breakfast! To bad you won't be eating here this time. If you happen to change your mind it's totally worth it, even if it's just for the decor. We had our ADR's before the park opened in the morning and it was pretty great to come down Main St. without the crowds, also picture opps. infront of the Castle wasn't to shabby. :thumbsup2

[/COLOR]OH YEAH!! I totally forgot to post this!!!

A real piece of original art from a Disney animator who really did stuff for the older movies. Imagine that!

When I was in China my friends tried to teach me Mandarin. They told me NOT to try and speak in Chinese anymore....
:rotfl: That's funny Jordy. I know just how you feel, I think my Spanish teacher was about to kick me out of class for not being able to roll my r's.

I think everyone would agree, though, that Mandarin is the toughest the world to learn. Makes Russian seem like a piece of cake, from what I hear. At least you tried; that's what counts. We were always told in language classes- You can't learn a language without making a million mistakes first.
So how many languages do you speak Liesa?
I just watched a completely bombed guy stumble across the street and pee on the tree on our corner. It's -10 below out. I'd hate for him to pass out before he gets his goods zipped back in- frostbite there would be really nasty affair.
:rotfl: Poor guy, I guess that would be one of the down falls to drinking and peeing in the cold.

Morning, Camille! So glad you had a decent night's sleep! I wouldn't go as far as saying a decent nights sleep, just a decent hour for turning in. I just hope I can stay awake the rest of the day so I can do it again tonight.

Jen, I just got off the phone with mom and dad. They have to run some errands today, but promised later on they'd go downstairs and find the box, scan the sketch and e-mail it to me. I'll have to upload it when I get it and post. So excited to see it!
Can't wait to see it! This is totally cool!

Your not a weird kid at all, my son has heard most of what my DH and I use to listen to by way of either the CD's we've play or SIRUS radio on the 80's station....I'd say for the most part he doesn't like most 80's music. But he does like to listen to the B-52's:, Depeche Mode, Oingo Boingo, and The Police. I'm sure if I played more of the music mentioned here by Ty he would probably like it.

I LOVE my Sirius radio, and have turned the kids on to the Beatles (well, that was long before I got the Sirius), the Police, Peter Gabriel, the Eagles, on and on. But they still occasionally say, "can we see what's on channel 1" (the current Top 40 channel).

Dooowwwn boy!

She's got a good point here Glenn. I like the way you think Liesa. :thumbsup2

Okay, calming down....

I thought it'd be a good idea to list all of our mess hall stops in one place, just to make sure everyone's on the same memo. Let's take a look:

Biergarten
Teppan Edo

California Grill My favorite place on property!!! My always meal is heavenly: Sonoma Goat Cheese Ravioli, Grilled Pork Tenderloin, & Valrhona Chocolate Cake... Yummy!!

Kona AND Kona Sushi Bar- I found this just okay, although the boys loved the sticky wings. I think I didn't order well because everyone else liked it. (I didn't try the sushi bar, but it sounds good to me.)

Beaches n Cream- Yummy good ol' American food

Sanaa
Jiko
Starring Rolls
Wolfgang Puck Express
Boma (notice the AK Trifecta)
Columbia Harbor House
Riverside Food Mill at POR

Caseys- mmmm...love that toppings bar! Nothing better that artificial cheese sauce!

Flame Tree

'Ohana- for meat lovers! the shrimp are awesome!

Afternoon Tea at the Grand Flo.
Either Cantina de San Angel OR Tangierine Cafe

Pecos Bills- again with the toppings bar!!

'Ohana was our first TS restaurant so it has great memories for me. Ask to sit in the main dining room so you can see all the goings-on. My kids loved the hula lessons!

I'm jealous of your AKL trifecta. I've never been there, and I'm determined to go and experience it on my next trip!

I have not a clue what SIRIUS is, but I thinky I likey.

 Oh, Matron of the Mini-Van! :worship: Winkers, what other CD's do you listen to in your Mini?

I just found out that my DFIL has accepted our offer for him to live with us in the house that we'll hopefully end up buying from him. God willing. My DH will still need to find a job in Salem, (not a good time to be moving back!!) but we're all really excited about his!! Speaking of mini vans, we'll probably end up with that too.

Love all of them!! And I don't feel the slightest bit old saying it. Who remembers Adam and the Ants??

I think Paul McCartney was the best concert I went to. Or the Who? I can't decide. Spyro Gyra was pretty good too.

Wish I could help you out more in this area, you've picked just about every place I haven't eatin at! I loved Boma's! There are so many wonderful things to try! Boma's sounds heavenly to me. After reading Glenn's review I'm dying for some curry seafood soup RIGHT NOW!

:rotfl: That's funny Jordy. I know just how you feel, I think my Spanish teacher was about to kick me out of class for not being able to roll my r's.

Our alphabet has 44 characters/sounds. Super easy to read since every letter has only one sound. But a lot of them are really hard to make. One is a g, but in the back of the throat. Someday if we ever meet, it'd be fun to speak some for you! :goodvibes

:rotfl: Poor guy, I guess that would be one of the down falls to drinking and peeing in the cold.

If it weren't so flippin cold out, it would have been hilarious. I was just afraid he was going to pass out in front of my house. One day, a guy did pass out by our tree, and my DH had to literally drag him home with another guy and myself. It was pathetic to drag him as far as the front stoop and drop him there in front of his wife and kids. I cried for them that night. :sad1: We see drunks passed out in the bazaars a lot. Less since we first got here in 2001. I think since there is more work there is less public drunkeness.

I LOVE my Sirius radio, and have turned the kids on to the Beatles (well, that was long before I got the Sirius), the Police, Peter Gabriel, the Eagles, on and on. But they still occasionally say, "can we see what's on channel 1" (the current Top 40 channel).

Okay, calming down....

The music today seems so focused on depressing themes. Why am I lonely? What is the point of life? etc... blech.

I could put more Cher up. :lmao:

I'm jealous of your AKL trifecta. I've never been there, and I'm determined to go and experience it on my next trip!

I don't know how to capture all your embedded comments, but I definitely remember your humdinger of a review for Cali!! MMMmmmm! I am so up in the air on what to order here! The ravioli looks so good, but I really think I'm going to end up with sushi, a cheese plate and some dessert. I know that sounds like a disgusting combo, but I don't know, I've heard good things about those items. Maybe since I'm getting sushi at the Kona bar late one night after swimming, I should go for a flatbread instead. :confused3 Decisions, decisions.

I may do a whole update (in my TR) on comparing and contrasting these three. ;)

Well, poopdoodle. I had really hoped my parents would send that sketch to me before I really had to throw the towel in, and went to bed. If it doesn't get here by tomorrow AM, I'll e-mail them and bug. Alas, it is 2:00 AM, and the puppies whine at the door for food around 9:00, so I better hit the sack.

Meanwhile, a favor. We are winding down in this thread and I need some ideas on some last minute things to post. Here are my ideas, but really want you all to chime in too!

***For a long time, even before GB posted his, I"ve wanted to give a revue of reviews so to speak. A listing of the TRs and PTR's that have been particularly fun for me to follow.

***A summary of this thread with the highlights.

***The 2 last installments of the Retro Report.

***And a GREAT Big Follow us over invitation.

Any more ideas?? What am I missing?? As soon as we start the new thread I will start posting our itineraries/daily plans. Also coming up: a series of posts on the souvies we'll be on the look out for, travel stuff, more gifty posts, all that fun stuff that we can finally do, now that we're closer!! GET THIS, we can make our ADRs in a little over 1 MONTH!!! Is that exciting or what?!!

Looking forward to being with you tomorrow!

Nite.

Okay. It was time. Not only have I seen you all over the boards, but you also have lovely links by Torsie. :thumbsup2 I had to come check you out! :goodvibes

It'll take me a bit to get up to speed, but looking forward to it. :thumbsup2

I can't believe your little green light is on! Go to bed!

I know, I KNOW!! I had just tucked in and thought I heard the puppies whining at the door. I think my mind is starting to play ugly tricks on me!!! They NEED TO GO!!! Seriously, please pray! I can't handle the extra stress and work with DH gone. I put an ad in the paper, that goes out tomorrow. I really hope they disappear. But it will be hard in the winter to get rid of them. Even for free.

WOWWW!!!!!!!!!!!!!! You are so not going to believe this!! I had JUST finished posting my first post on YOUR thread, and came back here, and ok, I'm officially weirded out. We posted on each other's for the first time- AT THE SAME TIME!!

Welcome!!!!!!! :woohoo: Seriously excited to have you here! I am very challenged by your personal challenge. I need to do something too, but sadly I live in a place that makes exercise difficult and unmotivating. Hopefully, I am going to really DO something when I get back and have sidewalks to be on again. Where there are any, mine are used for spitting and peeing on.

Take your time. This thread is a lot like Jordan's. Long and busy. Don't let it fool you! We joke a lot and are a friendly buncy!! I know you'll fit right in!!! :thumbsup2

I know!!! So crazy!!!! It's like we're kindred spirits! :thumbsup2 How have we avoided one another for so long??? :confused3

I understand your dilemma. When I lived in Australia, we lived in the outback. It was stinkin' hot almost all year long!! I'd have to wait until night time to walk. Thankfully, I had a friend to walk with me and we lived in a decent area.

And now - with my husband gone on deployment - if it wasn't for my treadmill, I'd be stuck trying to follow way-too-fit-women doing aerobics on my TV. I'm not real good with that. :rolleyes1

I know I need to go back and will probably find out the answers to these questions, but...

When do you move back? Are you guys military?

Thanks so much for the very warm welcome, Liesa! :goodvibes

Your stories make me smile on a not so great day, so thanks. :goodvibes

And wow. You were related to an animator! That is totally awesome. :thumbsup2

All the above sound good to me. I wonder if you can get it all in before the 'end'? :confused3

This is a must do ----- A post thanking all the guys for putting up with all the 'lady' stuff on your PTR. Sometimes there is a little TMI but it is nice to know that the women here think the same- and sometimes worse- than the guys! :lmao::lmao:

Here here!

(or is it "hear hear"? :lmao:)

Scratch that, and I'll just go with the much more modern: ITA!

Aww, so sad I missed the end of the RD.

So awesome that you are related to a real Disney animator - can't wait to see the sketch! :thumbsup2

Also, loving the language mishaps. My Dh is from Mexico and I made the same hot/horny mistake in Spanish when I was first learning to speak it. I also had the habit of adding "o" or "a" to the end of English words to make them Spanish. One day, I was trying to say that I was embarrassed, so naturally I made it "embarrasseda". That means pregnant. If I was embarrassed before, imagine how I felt after DH explained my mistake. This was before we were married, only dating a few months, and his father was in the car. :scared1:

Your choice at Kona actually sounds delicious to me as those are some of my favorite foods. I think I had some kind of Tuna with green tomatos there back in 2008 that was amazing too!

As for the rest of your choices, here's my thoughts:

Biergarten - haven't been, but would love to try - looks so festive and fun!
Teppan Edo - went in 2005 under previous ownership, not impressed, local Japanese places were more authentic, but it was fun
California Grill - would LOVE to go there, but have never been!
Kona AND Kona Sushi Bar - Loved Kona, so delicious! See above for more comments.
Beaches n Cream - have never been, but what's not to like about ice cream?!
Sanaa - this wasn't open yet the last time I was at WDW
Jiko - hands down the BEST meal of my life, the filet with Macaroni. It was melt-in-your-mouth good. Seriously, the best thing I have ever eaten. I could go on about it for hours. I am drooling a little now just thinking about it.
Starring Rolls - had coffee here with DH before the parade, nice place for a rest
Wolfgang Puck Express - pretty good, much shorter line than EOS on a Saturday
Boma (notice the AK Trifecta) - I like exotic foods, but hadn't had African before so this was new to me. I didn't like it quite as much as expected, but most of my family liked it well enough. I don't know that I would do it again unless everyone else insisted.
Columbia Harbor House - I have only had my mom's left-over chicken tenders from here, and they were good, even cold!
Riverside Food Mill at POR - never been here
Caseys - there must be something wrong with me, b/c I have never been here either :scared1:
Flame Tree - This is great for counter service, we really like the food and being able to sit down by the lake. Watch out for hungry ducks!
'Ohana - never been here
Afternoon Tea at the Grand Flo. - never been, need a little girl to take with me ;)
Either Cantina de San Angel OR Tangierine Cafe - We have eaten at both and like both. Cantina is more authentic than you would expect, definitely not like Taco Bell. Tangierine is not my favorite type of food, but DH really likes it.
Pecos Bills - never been here

We went to Y&Y last trip and thought it was just ok. I've had way better and more authentic asian food in Chicago (but NOT here in Phoenix, yuck!)

I think you can probably tell from my comments which would be my pick if I could only have one - Jiko. I cannot say enough good things about that filet. I would go back to WDW just for that, even if the rest of WDW wasn't there. But since it is, I would probably sneak a few rides and shows in. :thumbsup2

Did I suddenly develop a bad case of BO???
Now that's the perfect title right there!

Loved the "finding the drawing" story! TOO cool!

The language issues had me cracking up. (But I still love the radishes one more.)

Great retro day at Epcot.

I see I missed rations drop again.

Trying to think of Titles but my brain hurts. Been cataloging old support tickets all day so I'm a bit mush-melloned. All that's coming to mind is "Pop, Drop & Pour", "Invasion of the Belle Battlion", and "Ladies, Lapus, & Latrines".

I know!!! So crazy!!!! It's like we're kindred spirits! :thumbsup2 How have we avoided one another for so long???

I agree!! I'm still chuckling at how that happened! I would love to be on about a 100 more threads, but I just really can't. Color me obsessed, but once I join up with one, I tend to sort get a little emotionally attached and "engage". If I can't be consistent, I feel I can't or don't want to hop in. I know not everyone is like this (seriously NO pressure), but all that to say, I'm reluctant to post, unless I know I can stick with it. :thumbsup2 To keep everyone straight and to keep myself from making an a$$ of myself (like calling Jordan married once :scared1:) I have to keep it to about 20 threads or so. I'm sooooo glad I found yours!! It's definitely my kind of place :)

I understand your dilemma. When I lived in Australia, we lived in the outback. It was stinkin' hot almost all year long!! I'd have to wait until night time to walk. Thankfully, I had a friend to walk with me and we lived in a decent area.

That's summer here. Winter is just he opposite. It snowed yesterday- after it sleeted for 3 hours. Snow on Ice- sounds like a tragic accident waiting to happen. And I know it'd be me and my derrier.

I wish I could like the treadmill, but it's so boring. I wish I was rich, I'd have my own tennis and raquetball courts!! HA! That reminds me, the last time I played raquetball, I clocked my own nose and nearly broke it!! There was blood all over the court! I don't know, maybe I'm just destined to be marchmellowy forever. :lmao:

I know I need to go back and will probably find out the answers to these questions, but...

When do you move back? Are you guys military?

Thanks so much for the very warm welcome, Liesa! :goodvibes

No, not military. We do Community Development work with a Dutch based charitable NGO. If anyone wants to go to the website to see our projects, it's Agrinas.org

Your stories make me smile on a not so great day, so thanks. :goodvibes

And wow. You were related to an animator! That is totally awesome. :thumbsup2

Oh no! Not a bad day the day before you leave!!! What happened?? Going now to your thread!! Did you trip get cancelled?? :scared1:

All the above sound good to me. I wonder if you can get it all in before the 'end'? :confused3

This is a must do ----- A post thanking all the guys for putting up with all the 'lady' stuff on your PTR. Sometimes there is a little TMI but it is nice to know that the women here think the same- and sometimes worse- than the guys! :lmao::lmao:

I was thinking about that last night. We're really down to the wire!!

Worse?? Worse than parties with MJ, hurling in bushes, how long it takes in the WL bathroom, and asking for "napkins" in Australia?? I think we're all on the same par here. :lmao::rotfl2:

Here here!

(or is it "hear hear"? :lmao:)

I've always wondered that. I'm gonna look that up.

I've heard more than one person talk about being embarrasada!! :rotfl2: That's a classic "oops!"!

OK, now I know what to get at Jiko. I've only looked at the menu a couple times, and hadn't narrowed my choices down yet. It must really be good if you'd go there even without the parks!! :worship:

Thanks for all your comments on the places you've been too. You in fact, have been to quite a few.

Now that's the perfect title right there!

I see you're capitalizing on my love for alliteration. You have a sharp memory. but I guess I knew that. Who else could wax so elegantly about trips to Disney 30 years ago?? :lmao:

Rations Drop was a fun time. Coming up with the clues made MY brain hurt, though!

Need any radishes? I can fart them in the spring for you. :confused3:rotfl2:

I totally understand what you mean. I really don't like when I follow too many at once because it's difficult to keep up. When someone visits mine, I always like to return the favor. So, I don't usually go scope out new ones to read anymore since new readers always keep me busy. But, when there's someone I'm always encountering on my favorite threads, and I think to myself, "Hey. They're really cool. I want to get to know them." - that's when I pop in to say hey. :goodvibes

No, not military. We do Community Development work with a Dutch based charitable NGO. If anyone wants to go to the website to see our projects, it's Agrinas.org

Very cool. I'll go check it out. :thumbsup2

HAHAHAHA! There we go again!! Too funny.

I totally understand what you mean. Really I didn't mean to sound snooty or anything; I just want to be a responsible stalker. :lmao: I just signed on to Flossbolna's since we started bantering a bit on Glenn's thread. I adore getting to know people around here. Folks are so friendly and fun!

I don't think it sounds snooty at all. You don't want to be subscribed to tons of PTRs and TRs but only be able to pop in once in a blue moon with a quick "hi." You want to be able to really get to know the people you're reading and remember whether or not they're married. ;)
