I'm sorry you weren't feeling good.:sad2:

I thought I posted on here but I guess I didn't.:confused3

I tried to read all the updates but my head started spinning. :lmao: I don't know which TR has more action.. yours or Jordan's. I can't read them back to back. LOLOL :rotfl::rotfl:

Thanks!!

I've had hardly any time this week to do much reading, let alone posting. I miss the fun banter I usually have in my mornings!!! Hopefully things will be back to normal next week, unless the rest of us get it. But you're not going to believe it. DH came home and said he has a fever, and started the Tami.

Yeah, it's hard to keep up with the fast-paced ones, so I just dive in where I can and have fun on the fly.

Yikes! At the gall bladder attack and the flu going around. I'm so glad you could find some tamiflu :) Hopefully you'll start to reeeeally feel better soon.

Your resort plans sound fun! I'm generally a low-key type person and all of those sound like things I'd enjoy if I didn't have a very active 8 yo in tow..lol. I tend to really cherish my alone time when it's in such scarce supply! Looking forward to the next update :)

Thanks, Amanda!

It's a drag having sick little ones, but I managed to make some chicken soup and Naripoo sipped some down. For me, it still hurts a little to breathe. :confused3

I really looking forward to just relaxing during the times we ARE at the resort. I don't see myself spending a lot of time there, but I think the Imagineers went through just as much thought and effort at them too. Lots to see and do, and frankly with kids, it's harder to do just that. I know. Last time, I was with my 6, 9, 13, and 15, and 17 year olds! Totally different kind of trip!
Hope your feeling better soon. It seems like so many people are getting sick these days.

I love all our relaxed plans for enjoying the resorts. It's going to make for such a wonderful low-key vacation. It should be really wonderful.

Thanks!! Yes, they actually closed my son's school down in the capital city (it's a school for English speakers) because 15% of the students were out with the flu. It's definitely over here!

I hope it's a good mix of exciting and relaxing! I think what's different about this trip is that I have a few "out of the way" , "out of the ordinary" things on my lists.

I sure do hope you feel better soon! And glad that you guys got some Tamiflu to fight off the sickies!

Awwww, thanks, maroo!! I don't know how much it is oop in the States, but it's definitely one of the highest priced meds. you can buy over here right now.

Bubbafied!! :lmao: That's a good one! I always cook that way, hardly ever using a recipe anymore. Most of the time it works... ;)

You know, we could all go over there and just hang out in the lobby! To take a looky see... even if we don't stay there...

That's how I cook too. I look at a recipie as a starting point for an idea, not much more. Although I have to admit, I followed a new one to a "T" last night and it was pretty darn good (Pumpkin Polenta with Chorizo and Black Beans). Jeff was complaining I kept making the same old thing.

You should absolutely go visit, it's just lovely! And lovely people run it which makes it more lovely to me.

Showed him!

Soldier #1’s home suffered enemy attacks last night in the form of biological warfare. This week 2 specific enemy grenades were launched, and their names are “Flu” and “Gall Bladder Attack”. Neither are very fun. There are resorts to be seen and experienced too. In fact, there are 3!!! resorts that I’ll be enjoying come September’s TC3 Extravaganza of Freedom. Imagine that! 3 resorts to explore all the nooks and crannies of Imagineering creativity! Here is my list of what POR has waiting for me:

Oh my goodness! I haven't been around much this week (or last) but nothing like that. YIKES!. And Hugs. And get better soon and all that rot.

Mnnn...

Yeehaw Bob, Pralines, BEIGNETS, Coffee and Wine...

Oh I love BEIGNETS. And real NOLA cofeee....chicory and all.

I likey!

And....
BUTTERFLIES!

1)Take the boat to DTD on the Sassagoula River. Did you know that “Sassagoula” was the Indian word (I have no idea which tribe) for Mississippi? I hear the 20-30 minute jaunt is very relaxing, and that loads of wildlife can be seen.

Will you be riding right by OKW?

I really want to just go around and see the resorts one day. (I'd love to do it at Christmas, but our 3 day trip looks jam packed!!) I've only stayed at ASMusic, Beach Club, & Polynesian; and I've eaten at Grand Floridian & the Contemporary so I've seen them. We're staying at OKW at Christmas, but I'd love to see the other resorts. You make POR sound so great!!

The website says it goes by SSR, but doesn't mention OKW. So, now I'm not sure.

Are your dates for next year set?? Just wondering..... popcorn::

Hmmm..I wonder if there's a seperate path for POR to DTD than the OKW way.

Not yet..we gotta sit down and get it all figured out!

Sorry about the sicknesses going around.

I almost fell asleep reading your things to do at POR, it made me THAT relaxed.....:cloud9::cloud9:

Well....My dose of Tamiflu for just me was $75.00 - and that was WITH insurance. I am sure some people have better copays...but that is what it cost me.

ME TOO!! That was one of my biggest regrets coming home last year. We made it to not even one resort except the Poly, so that is one reason it is high on my list. One way to ensure that, and so I can't let myself do it again, is making tons of ADRs AT the resorts rather than in the parks. Christmas or not, I feel like I missed out on a big part of what a Disney vacation could be.

Maybe so?? I just honestly don't know. I think there are those on here though who could answer the question... Anyone? Anyone?

I think there's a big difference between boring and relaxing. I know you didn't read it and get bored, but I think a lot of people there at WDW (us included during our first few trips) can't distinguish the difference. or don't want to. I need this trip to be relaxing!!!

Well....My dose of Tamiflu for just me was $75.00 - and that was WITH insurance. I am sure some people have better copays...but that is what it cost me.

:scared1: There are some perks for living here, then. :lmao: Actually, there are quite a few, and that reminds me it's time to update my blog today....

A quick glance at our poll indicates that once again "Upgrading our resort" and "Getting PHs and a signature dinner" are tied once again. Huh!

You know, it's shaping up that the TC3, using tweaky Disney math, saving like crazy, and splurging even more, are going to end up doing both. I think. Well, I mean the upgrade to the Poly is almost a done deal, and well, we actually have at least one sig. dinner planned as well as PHs- soooooo it seems we listen well to our Peeps. "And that starts with P, which rhymes with T, and that stands for trouble...trouble, trouble." (name that flick)

Now, a word about getting a rental car...

Why is it that the vote count has not changed in about 5 months?? Those lone 3 votes came in during the first month (maybe even week) of the start of this zany PTR, and it hasn't changed one iota since then. I have to ask.. Is this an indiction of better Disney transportation since then? Was there a fresh shipment that came in from Colombia and those 3 smoked some of it? Were those 3 people staying at the POP and spent too much time at EPCOT? I just don't know...

Now as for the 30 folks who said see Cirque: Actually I'm still tossing this idea around. However, I'd like to expand my idea and would LOVE, no, COVET your input. Someone suggested a tour; and I know that there are many. MK special tours, EPCOT special tours, Segway Tours, Lunch with Imagineers (although, I heard this is kapput), etc... Peeps, what do you think?? I would love to see Cirque. ThePreacher'sWife saw it in Portland, OR and raved about it, and said she'd do it again, but now I have 3 solo days.

Give me your input about the tours you've done, or have heard about. Cost vs. worth comments, pictures, drawbacks; I want to hear it all.

For those of you who voted "Get 2 siggie dinners", I have no comment at this time. Ummm.. for those of you who will resume Rations Drop next month, that there is a clue.

I know! It's the Music Man! Great flick...

Well, I've never done a WDW tour so I'm afraid I am not qualified to comment. I did tour an ice cream factory once and got some free samples. That was nifty. OH, and in high school we toured a pig farm, which come to think of it sucked actually. But my most infamous tour came when I was 6 years old. Picture it. Washington DC. My grandparents have brought me to the nations capitol. We stopped at some ungodly hour of the morning for breakfast and lined up to tour the White House. As we are wandering these hallowed halls, the tour guide decides to stop her endless rambling at the PRECISE moment that my breakfast decides to say hello. Yep. The infamous White House fart of 1979 is one which shall never be forgotten in our family. It's something I'm proud of to this very day. Brings a tear to my eye just thinking about it. Makes me want to sing Battle Hymn of the Republic or something.

Does that help?

I'm with the Cirque group, I love the specials I've seen on Bravo, and would love to see it in person! As for the tours, the one behind the scenes at Living with the Land sounds cool to me, so does the Segway one, although with my ermm...grace..I'd probably end up going headfirst into a fountain and breaking a limb, lol. I can just see the Brazilians laughing now!

Sounds great, except I can't get chorizo here. I did grow about a dozen pumpkins though, and make my own polenta once in a while. Maybe without the chorizo??

You should absolutely go visit, it's just lovely! And lovely people run it which makes it more lovely to me.

Maybe if they are really nice, then they will let us loiter for a while? Let's throw this in the idea mix, everyone!!

Oh my goodness! I haven't been around much this week (or last) but nothing like that. YIKES!. And Hugs. And get better soon and all that rot.

Thanks!! Naripoo isn't much better today; still doing the Tylenol/Tamiflu thing- and praying that the rest of us don't get it!!

Mnnn...

Sounds dreamy, doesn't it??!! Going now to look up NOLA coffee- not sure what that is. :confused3

Good guess, but that was an easy one! ;)

Now that's some good Soldiering, right there!!! Well done- thy breakfast served thee well!

(Smart alec! :lmao:)

That one sounded cool to me too! It's like the Garden of Eden in there, except God didn't use plastic tubing, I don't think.

Oh, I don't know. I've heard they are pretty good at cheering and chanting too. :rotfl2::rotfl2:

:rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl2:

I've never done any tours so am of no hope whatsoever there. I have done Cirque, just not the show that is at DTD. I  Cirque and have  'd every show I've seen (three I think?).

I am seriously contemplating that for my date night with Jeff on our trip. If finances allow. Which would bring me to the only reason I wouldn't go.

Finances.

But if I could swing it, on an all adult trip, I'd be SOOOOO in!

Rental car on the other hand, is SO expensive there especially for as many days as you are talking and for me, I'd skip it.

Which reminds me I have one to cancel!

That's sorta what I was thinking too. An all-adult trip deserves some adult entertainment like this. It's not just acrobatics, but a whole show, with emotion and storyline, and fodder for contemplation as I enjoy that glass of wine on my balcony... YOu get the idea...

Rental. I was totally ok with NOT having one, but then I read about nightmares like that'snice had after Hoop, and start to waffle. But then again, if I enjoy the Sangria, well then, all rental car bets are off anyways, I suppose.

Last I checked I could get a car for abotu $215 for one week. That'd pay for about 3 Cirques.

That is too funny!

First of all-- You are double jinxed, pal!! Our posting at the same time just must stop. People will start talking! :lmao::lmao:

That's what I"m starting to think.... This idea is growing on me...

Going to Hoop started as just a little idea.... it's growing on me too...

Ladies, let me give you my input on Cirque. I proudly claim to be on of those 30 that voted you spend your extra $$ on Cirque tickets. I have now see the show twice and I would go back again if it weren't so darn expensive. The first time, we were on the Deluxe dining package and Cirque was included so we thought - "Why Not? :confused3" My MIL and I took DD10 (then 7) and DD8 (then 5). We were all mesmerized. It is an amazing display of acrobatics, dance, incredible costuming, and music. There are soooooo many things going on at once that your eye (and your brain) delightfully jump from one performer to the next. Without giving too much away, see if you can find a Cirque Du Soleil: La Nouba commercial on YouTube or something. Just a glimpse of a fraction of what you would see is enough to tease you into wanting more.

On our second trip last September, we decided that Bella must see LaNouba as well. She was really too young on the previous trip (only 2 years old) and her with newly diagnosed epilepsy we didn't know if strobe lighting would set off a seizure. This was also a good excuse for MIL and I to see it again. So we purchased tickets for the 3 of us, and let me tell you it was just as amazing the second time around! As I mentioned before, there is so much going on all at once. There were many things in round 2 that I failed to notice in round one. Additionally, during our second viewing, I spent a great deal of time watching Bella's face as she watched the show. The delight in her eyes and the smile on her face would have entertained me the entire show.

I highly, HIGHLY recommend you spend your extra money on La Nouba tickets. I have yet to meet someone who did not think the show was worth every penny.

Just my two cents!

Just my two cents!

THANKS!!! So much!

That is exactly the kind of input I was looking for, and your descriptions are really doing the sell on me!! Thanks for your view on it- now to come up with that extra dough.
