I think I am lost...maroo, how many PTR's do you have....??? lol Am I in the right one?

Hmm...

now that is a VERY good question.

Three? :confused3

Ok...there is THIS one - you ARE in the right place - this is where we discuss our plans for Sept 2010 - Liesa and LeeAnn and I! So yes... you are in the right place.

Then I do tend to hijack (with permission, of course) Sandy's Marathon Weekend pre-trip report - and sorta use that to discuss my March Half Marathon plans....

And then I have my other one. The step-child...really. I had abdoned that baby altogether. But when I got kicked out of this one...I went and grabbed it so I could talk about my December trip coming up...and then January...and March........ I felt bad hijacking for those. ;)

You can find her here- this is a specialized PTR for our trip together. :dance3:

Yeah!

:dance3:

Gosh...I never noticed that was THREE people dancing?!?

1. TSM. I love Buzz, and hear this is EVEN BETTER!

2. ToT! This time, I am looking specifically for the hidden props from the movies.

3. Being a slow down and enjoy the park for its own charm sort of trip, I intend to watch a whole lot more streetmosphere.

4. Obviously, the Great Movies ride. Being someone who can quote Casablanca word for word, this is a must!

5. Never made it to Animator's Studio.

6. Nor One Man's Dream

7. Finding fun new hats to add to my hat photo scavenger hunt will be fun.

8. Finding a whole bunch of hidden gems and Mickeys (separate post of these coming in a future installment)

9. I adored having a latte and a pastry at Starring Rolls and taking a people watching break there.

10. If there is time, and they've added more shows by then, I'll risk my life and watch Fantasmic! This will be a game-time decision.

So, there you have the long-winded version of how I feel about DHS. Maybe it's a park that has to grow on you??

TSMM is just that cool - honestly!! If you like Buzz, you will love this. Consider a touring plan that includes FP opportunities for sure.

How about the Muppets?? I love the Muppets!

Meeting Sorcerer Mickey?

If there were just better food choices, DHS might be higher on my list. As it is, it's number #3 out of 4.

1. TSM. I love Buzz, and hear this is EVEN BETTER!

it is. one piece of advice. start with your non-prominnent arm. i am right-handed. i always start with my left hand and then change halfway through. that way i have my stronger arm fresher for the bonus round.

2. ToT! This time, I am looking specifically for the hidden props from the movies.

this is my FAVORITE attraction in all of disney world. for reals. i thought i'd hate it but i LOVED it!!! thus making DHS a must-do for us. if you're interested in my first encounter where the thought of riding it scared me to death, go here....

http://www.disboards.com/showpost.php?p=18633157&postcount=228

and here's the video from that ride: http://www.disboards.com/showpost.php?p=19113579&postcount=431

and in 2008 we rode at night. it was so cool! here's the installment of that, with video: http://www.disboards.com/showpost.php?p=25575893&postcount=512

4. Obviously, the Great Movies ride. Being someone who can quote Casablanca word for word, this is a must!

i have to share what happened to us on this ride. we got STUCK during the casablanca scene and we saw that darn scene like 15 times in a row....i was going nuts!!!!! and ingrid bergman looks drunk during that scene. she does! check it out next time you ride. this is one i haven't done since and ray and i have since dubbed it the not-so-great movie ride. but i know i'm in the minority on that!

5. Never made it to Animator's Studio.

we loved this! it takes awhile but it's worth it. and i'm sure you already know this, but that's where the incredibles are.

6. Nor One Man's Dream

another one that we absolutely loved. i try to do it every trip if i can. and i always cry during the movie.

10. If there is time, and they've added more shows by then, I'll risk my life and watch Fantasmic! This will be a game-time decision.

my 2nd-favorite nighttime show behind wishes. i adore this show and it's another must-do for us.

6. Narnia ride - or is that a show - again, never seen it!

don't feel bad if you don't get to see it. i'm a huge narnia fan and i thought this was lame.

:goodvibesok dhs- i have a lot to say on this one for some reason
tot-love , love love it, my ds is officially tall enough and petrified yet i cant wait to drag him on it (mean mommy i know)
rnr-read tot
great movie ride- i think most people dislike this, but i really like it. (except for the time i got stuck on it with a 3 year old and a starving 9 month old forever (yes forever) the cm had us play a game to name a disney movie with each letter of the alphabet we were on our 3rd go round when it finally decided to move again)
i would love to lunch with an animator -you should do it and tell me all about it
beauty and the beast -in all my trips i have only seen this once every other time it thunderstormed and got cancelled ..belle is my fave love it
streetmosphere- really hysterical
and as a side note this is not usually my fave park ( just ok) but at christmas time i loved it between osbourne lights and the christmas parade it waas just fantastic. it completely changed the way i felt about it. so it think it just might grow on you

Great top ten for DHS!
Are you going to do AEI? You def. should I loved it and so did the girls. And who knows maybe you'll try out?
I understand not loving DHS. I can't decide which I like better, AK or DHS. If we didn't have PH we probably wouldn't go there every trip. I agree with everyone else TSM is a blast. Best ride in the world!!
Backstage tour is o.k it used to be better. I think you'll like it though because it seems like you like those kind of things.
You should def. do Muppets too.:thumbsup2

I love that description!

For me I think AI has helped a lot to bring the feel and intent of MGM back, I love it. I personally don't mind RRC, it's really it's own street to me so even though it is close to ToT, I'm ok with it.

I  Beauty and the Beast. I like your lists. It's a funny park. A bit hard to navigate and can feel like it's deserted in areas and insanely crowded in others but lots of wonderful things. I love the street performers, they add so much to the experience. When we went in '04 we hit this park on our first night, really on a whim, not thinking we'd like it and I think we ended up hitting the park 4-5 times during our week we liked it so much!

If you like that description, you should read her TR!! Seriously, Heather has an incredible way with words. It's NOT like GB puts it, "a narrative like that from an outing to the local mall." She puts her feelings in it, describes in detail what makes the ambiance what it is... all that!! Kudos, Circusgirl!

Funny how our opinions can change depending on the purpose or intent of a trip, and also with the changing circumstances we end up with on any particular trip. I think it's funny that you "on a whim" ended up there, and loved it. Same thing happened to us with DTD!! Whim= Loving it!

Thanks:) I did see yours...the one where she has to "knock first" before entering:rotfl2: love it!

I actually looked up the "Stans" in C. Asia...more than I knew:):teacher:

There are a lot of Stans- more than just the ones that are the "hot spots" in the world right now. Most are peacefully cooking along- definitely "developing", but for the most part quiet and peaceful. Run by what we call "friendly dictators", but calm and slowly growing.

Yeah!

:dance3:

Gosh...I never noticed that was THREE people dancing?!?

I think it's a perfect mascot!!

And I do love me some Buzz!! I totally smoke that ride every time- well, at least compared to my 18 yr. old son. :woohoo: Not shabby Mama!!!

Can I share a secret?? I took my then 5 year old into the Muppets, and we both snoozed. Like REALLY snoozed. I blame it on the Gobi desert like hotness of the park/day, the lack of caffeine, the stars aligning to precarious positions. You know. It wasn't necessarily- Kermit himself.

I don't think we'll be eating anywhere in the park itself at all. (ummm, that was a future hint for Rations Drop starting up after Thanksgiving ;))

it is. one piece of advice. start with your non-prominnent arm. i am right-handed. i always start with my left hand and then change halfway through. that way i have my stronger arm fresher for the bonus round.

Okay, those were pretty funny! Good ones! I love it too. Not my favorite; being the nostalgic type, I'd have to say for me it'd be Pirates or HM. But ToT is full of good, droppy fun!! And I adore the story line here!

i have to share what happened to us on this ride. we got STUCK during the casablanca scene and we saw that darn scene like 15 times in a row....i was going nuts!!!!! and ingrid bergman looks drunk during that scene. she does! check it out next time you ride. this is one i haven't done since and ray and i have since dubbed it the not-so-great movie ride. but i know i'm in the minority on that!

That sounds almost as bad as being stuck on IASW. Gack!! I can't even imagine a drunk Ingrid!!! OMG! Not my heroine! So demure and beautiful. Almost as much as Audrey!

we loved this! it takes awhile but it's worth it. and i'm sure you already know this, but that's where the incredibles are.

Ummm. noo. never did find it. We wandered around (I with a splitting headache, under Gobi-like, blistering desert sun) for what seemed like about 6 1/2 hours looking for the Incredibles and Mater (cuz Mater is my other hero). Guess we missed it in our heat-stroke induced stupor.

another one that we absolutely loved. i try to do it every trip if i can. and i always cry during the movie.

Really?! I cried during Nemo. I'm such a sap. I'm certain a good flick about Walt will have similar effects.

my 2nd-favorite nighttime show behind wishes. i adore this show and it's another must-do for us.

We REALLY wanted to see this! ALL the kids and I, but we were just too pooped. We ended up going back to the Fort early, getting one of our best meals the whole trip (the Giddy up and Go chicken dinner). We sent the kids over for another nighttime movie, and my sis and I had wine coolers and yacked. All in all, I think we scored a pretty good evening, despite no nighttime spectacular. Oh wait, I think I even hopped a bus to Pioneer Hall, grabbed a re-fill, sauntered down to the marina and caught the Electrical Water Pageant too. So there was a nighttime spectacle (notice I didn't use the word spectacular here- it was good and fun, but NOT spectacular).

don't feel bad if you don't get to see it. i'm a huge narnia fan and i thought this was lame.

That's what a lot of people say. My kids want some pictures though, so I may go through it quick like, just to get some.

:goodvibesok dhs- i have a lot to say on this one for some reason
tot-love , love love it, my ds is officially tall enough and petrified yet i cant wait to drag him on it (mean mommy i know)

I think encouraging a kid to go on something that you think he'll do fine on is a good thing- every parent knows their kid best! But not enough to cause hysteria. I've seen too much of that too. I know you'll be able to judge his feelings at the time!! And NO, you're not a bad mom! It's every parent's job to help their kids confront their fears; it's part of helping them grow up.

great movie ride- i think most people dislike this, but i really like it.

I was still nursing when all mine were 9 months old. I'd have whipped it out, and then seen how fast they could get the ride moving. :lmao::lmao:

I guess they've stopped this lunch with a happy worker thing... Sad. That would have been a lot of fun!

beauty and the beast -in all my trips i have only seen this once every other time it thunderstormed and got cancelled ..belle is my fave love it
streetmosphere- really hysterical
and as a side note this is not usually my fave park ( just ok) but at christmas time i loved it between osbourne lights and the christmas parade it waas just fantastic. it completely changed the way i felt about it. so it think it just might grow on you

If there's time to see both, I wouldn't mind seeing B&B again, but since I haven't seen Little Mermaid, I'd rather do that one. You should watch the YouTube video of Mrs. Potts falling over and struggling to get back up!! H.I.L.A.R.I.O.U.S.!!!!

We only saw about 5 minutes of streetmosphere last time- need to slow down and soak it all in.

Although we won't be there at Christmas, one of my goals this year is to be in this park after dark. Great Biscuit (I'm pretty sure it was you...sorry, having a CRAFT moment) took some fantastic nightime shots and the park looks stunning with the neon!

Good Morning (well, for me anyway...;))!

maroo likes AI, me, not so much. having not been in the states since it aired, we are not so attached to it, and frankly "don't get it". I may go find Ewok houses while maroo sneaks in there. TRY OUUUUUUT??!! You have got to be kidding!! :rotfl2:

When we did the backstage tour, I was over-the-top sad that the costume making room was deserted!!! So sad! That would have been sooooo cool to me!! The whole thing was like a drive-through ghost town with a few movie props stashed back there. Ever been to Tombstone, AZ?? It was kinda like that. Agree with you- "OK".

Muppets has some nice sight gags, but it's also a good place to catch an little snoozaroo if needed.

Ever get so excited you leak a little?? Don't laugh, it happens to the best of us! Like when you see the castle for the first time on your trip? Driving under the Welcome signfor the first time on a trip? Seeing Tinkerbell do her fly-by? Okay, something really leak-worthy, exciting is happening tomorrow here. I get a specialty item grocery order comin' my way.

Yessiree Peeps! I get brown sugar, cranberry sauce (whole berry, all the way, baby!), pickle relish, yellow mustard, and the creme de la creme.... wait for it, wait for it....

CREAM CHEESE!!! (oops, pulling my Depends up a little).

Yup!!! Getting me some creamy, cheesecakey goodness comin' my way. I have a favorite German brand of raspberry jam that I plan to dump all over it, and them I might just eat several servings all at one time.

Now, speaking of cheesecake... I was thinking about our tentative DIS Meet in Sept. It's going to be here before you know it!!! I'm so excited!! Ladies, (at least I think we're all ladies, so far) are we still on for Cheese Factory, then a little shopping?? A little coffee klatch time somewhere??

Let's make this some quality time of getting to know each other! Who's in?? I'm thinking this is going to be a great thing...

You never know, it might be so good, some of us might have to don our "for the mature" Pull-Ups.

I missed a lot...love the top tens!!

Is there even such a thing as a 'friendly' dictator??

Oh, all those tasty things are comin' my way! I'll be able to make spice cookies and all sorts of other delectable sweets. Or better yet, I'll get Mom to make them!! I'll be in heaven. :cloud9:

Leak worthy!!! :lmao:

Is it weird to say I'm proud that someone can admit to it? Because yes, most of us have those issues. Just sayin'. :lmao:

Congrats on the cream cheese. Not something I ever thought I'd say to someone, but there you go. :thumbsup2

Hooray! For cream cheese...and cheesecake..definitely leak worthy! Not that I'm admitting to anything. :rolleyes1:

Mmmmmm..... cream cheese. I do love cheesecake.

So, when in September are y'all thinking? Still Nashville?

because I could possibly make it then.

Ummm. noo. never did find it. We wandered around (I with a splitting headache, under Gobi-like, blistering desert sun) for what seemed like about 6 1/2 hours looking for the Incredibles and Mater (cuz Mater is my other hero). Guess we missed it in our heat-stroke induced stupor.

well, here ya go. to find the incredibles, you're just gonna do the magic of disney animation attraction. you will have to sit through a movie first and then you will exit into a room with sorcerer mickey, the incredibles and some other characters (usually from the latest movie...right now i think it's "up" but may have changed since i last checked). if you don't see the incredibles but frozone instead, just wait a few minutes - they will be back out there. i know there's some way you can skip the movie first but i can't remember how to do it. after the character area you can go into the drawing class, which is always fun.

as far as mater goes, the last time we were there (december 2008) they had him and lightning mcqueen in an area sort of behind where lights, motors, action is. if you walk towards that show but keep going straight instead of veering to the right to go to the show, you should see them on your right a little ways down. they've moved them a couple of times though so if they're not there, just ask a CM and they should be able to tell you.

Ever get so excited you leak a little??

now THAT'S how you start an update!!!! :rotfl2:

oh, and it's also tag-worthy. where is that blasted tag fairy when you need her?

Don't laugh, it happens to the best of us! Like when you see the castle for the first time on your trip? Driving under the Welcome signfor the first time on a trip? Seeing Tinkerbell do her fly-by?

so funny that you should mention this!!! when i first started reading the first thing that popped into my head was when i FOUND OUT that a real person flies off the castle as tinker bell...not just a doll or something. i was planning for our first trip together and when i found that out on the disboards, i have to admit that that happened to me. :rotfl:

Okay, something really leak-worthy, exciting is happening tomorrow here. I get a specialty item grocery order comin' my way.

okay, so i'm guessing from this post and from others i've seen and because of the fact that you always seem to post in the middle of the night (at least where i am), that you don't live here. i've also seen the camel thing on your signature. so where are you? and why are you there (as in are you a missionary or something)? i know i'm a late-comer to this TR but i just haven't asked that yet. just interested because my cousin lives in brazil right now as a missionary and i was just curious as to where you are and what's the story behind it. popcorn::

enjoy your cheesecake, by the way.

are we speaking of the nashville meet? if so, you can count me in. i don't care when. like i said before, nashville is a pretty easy trip for me since i go there all the time to see family anyways. it's only a 4-hour drive from here. so as long as i know a few weeks in advance, i can just plan a trip to see the family while i'm there.

Ever get so excited you leak a little??

very tag worthy

Well now, those are mighty interesting things you've got there that inspire leakage. How does cream cheese survive the trip to the Stans intact? That's what this curious mind would like to know.

Speak for yourself! I never leak! :lmao:

Maybe that is something that comes with age? :rotfl: :rotfl2: :lmao:

I probably should run away now.

:tiptoe:

Nah. :rotfl2:

I am coming in Sept. And Lauren said she "HAS" to come...and that she doesn't care if she has to skip school to come...she will be a SENIOR :faint: and she is a allowed to "skip" ...

Who stole the real Lauren? And where did they take her? :upsidedow

In this case, we think so. Everything is status quo, and that's always good. ;) Yup, brown sugar can turn into tasty victuals! Get your bake on, girl. :wizard:

Leak worthy!!! :lmao:

Is it weird to say I'm proud that someone can admit to it? Because yes, most of us have those issues. Just sayin'. :lmao:

Congrats on the cream cheese. Not something I ever thought I'd say to someone, but there you go. :thumbsup2

Funny, my dad, the same one who wouldn't fess a fart in the OR, has a saying about that particular biofunction. "Men can't start, and women can't stop." All about the anatomy folks.

Maroo said the same thing about frying tofu. I guess I get merit for coming up with all kinds of things folks would never say or hear. :lmao:

Hooray! For cream cheese...and cheesecake..definitely leak worthy! Not that I'm admitting to anything. :rolleyes1:

:cheer2: OH, Yeah, Cream cheese!

You don't have to admit anything.... :lmao:

Mmmmmm..... cream cheese. I do love cheesecake.

So, when in September are y'all thinking? Still Nashville?

because I could possibly make it then.

Yeah, I'm thinking Nashville; that seems to be a central place for everyone to come from the north of from Knoxville or ???

Hmmmm.... dates? Well, I'm thinking I can arrive on the 25th, but need to spend that week getting my son situated into University. And our trip starts the 5th. So, maybe like the 2nd or so?? What does everyone think??

well, here ya go.

That was certainly a detailed tutorial on how to find the characters. If I don't find them this time, I can only blame it on too much ToT. ;)

now THAT'S how you start an update!!!! :rotfl2:

oh, and it's also tag-worthy. where is that blasted tag fairy when you need her?

The tag fairy must be on an extended Disney cruise; I haven't seen new tags in over a year. Recession??

See??! There are some occassions that cause "malfunction". I know.

okay, so i'm guessing from this post and from others i've seen and because of the fact that you always seem to post in the middle of the night (at least where i am), that you don't live here. i've also seen the camel thing on your signature. so where are you? and why are you there (as in are you a missionary or something)? i know i'm a late-comer to this TR but i just haven't asked that yet. just interested because my cousin lives in brazil right now as a missionary and i was just curious as to where you are and what's the story behind it. popcorn::

enjoy your cheesecake, by the way.

Yes, we live overseas, in the middle of Crap-A-Stan. Others know it as Blank-A-Stan, but since I can't get brown sugar anymore, it's position was demoted several ranks. I really don't say exactly where I am, since there may be those who aren't wanting a good thing going on in their country. ;) My DH does water development projects; basically that means, that by means of private and government donations, we bring clean water to schools in the poorest of the villages. Most do not have ANY piped water into them- AT ALL. (THink- a few buckets to clean, cook and wash for 150 students and staff.) I will PM you...

Hence, my AM is your PM, and I always post at your evening. My "regular" time is around 8:00 PM PST. I have a ton of fun with the west coasters and the night owl easter seaboarders.

Cheesecake, anything made of seafood (the closest ocean is about as far away at Jupiter), green veggies (that I don't have to grow), and Reuben sandwiches are the things at the top of my wish list.

are we speaking of the nashville meet? if so, you can count me in. i don't care when. like i said before, nashville is a pretty easy trip for me since i go there all the time to see family anyways. it's only a 4-hour drive from here. so as long as i know a few weeks in advance, i can just plan a trip to see the family while i'm there.

Uh-huh. Are you up for another one?? But this time, I would love to spend more time with everyone and get to know them more. There are so many fun folks here! :hippie:

Well now, those are mighty interesting things you've got there that inspire leakage. How does cream cheese survive the trip to the Stans intact? That's what this curious mind would like to know.

OK, here's the scoop... the capitol city has a big grocery store that stocks all kinds of Shoprite products, and whenever someone comes from there, we ask for them to bring the goodies. So, in actuality, it's only coming on a 2 1/2 hour trip. Well, minus the 36 it took to get it that far. But we don't dwell on that too long.

Speak for yourself! I never leak! :lmao:

Maybe that is something that comes with age? :rotfl:

I probably should run away now.

I'd be running now. JK. It does come with age. And kids. I'd say you're safe for now.

You know Lauren can come- I would love to see her again!!!

Maybe she is finally understanding that there is more to life than straight A's. Like cheesecake.

When you said leak worthy, I thought you meant the grocery bags....:rotfl2:

Cheesecake Factory. Everything except for the Cheesecakes and Bread are made from scratch onsite.....I know because I made lots of that stuff during training.

very cool! so he brings clean water to people? what a great job.

Uh-huh. Are you up for another one?? But this time, I would love to spend more time with everyone and get to know them more. There are so many fun folks here! :hippie:

yep, i'm up for one! the only thing that would prevent me from coming is if i get a last-minute transcript order or if i'm VERY pregnant at that point.

When you said leak worthy, I thought you meant the grocery bags....:rotfl2:

me, too, jordan! :rotfl:
