Geez, I guess I made it sound like I was pumping myself up... Didn't mean for it to look like that!! But when I went back to read it, it sorta came out that way. I'm just really excited that this may mean some good scholarships; and that means fewer loans for him. (It also means I didn't completely screw him up :lmao:)

Another newsflash...

I just saw a picture of him posted on FB of him HOLDING HANDS WITH A GIRL!!!! OK, that was shock. I didn't ever expect to find out about a possible first girlfriend via the internet. Weird! Is this how all parents find out about these things?? :confused3

I don't even look at my niece and nephews' FB anymore for that very reason. Don't see; don't tell.

:lmao::rotfl::lmao:

Newsflash!!!

I just found out my son's SAT scores (bear with me; first kid, excited Mama syndrome here!) and he totally smoked it!!! Holy COW!!! It's an ACE!

He got a combined score of 1890!!! 92% Rdg.; 81% Math; 79% Writing!!
Funny thing- This is the 2nd go around for him; and pulled his Writing up from 29th percentile to 79th!!!

I'm just so freakin' proud of him, and do hope that his hard work pulls some payout!!Guess the years of homeschooling paid off anyway.

Congrats! That is some amazing news! You are doing a great job! :cheer2::cheer2::cheer2:

They are going to be paying that child to go to school! :thumbsup2

Way to go, Mom!!! :teacher: :woohoo: :yay: :dance3: :cheer2: :cool1:

So...I decided to go ahead and book my reservations. I did not wake up at 3 AM on the 27th. Today - as you know - is the 29th. So I was not sure what I could snag.

But I got Le Cellier, Friday evening at 7:15.
And Crystal Palace for Lunch on Saturday 12:00.
AND Ohana, Saturday evening, 7:00.

I don't know that we will actually keep all of these. We will need to eat well before the Half, but not too much. Lisa loves Pooh characters as much as I do - so I figured that one would be good. And a good steak sounds AWESOME. I wonder if I should move that to Saturday evening? :scratchin:

Great places Maroo!!!!

I wonder if 'Ohana will be too much the night before your run though? Can you swap Le Cellier with 'Ohana??? I remember eating at 'Ohana.. I was so stuffed!pirate:

How Awesome!! You get some of that credit for teaching him! I think you deserve an extra day at disneyworld.

 I usually hear from one of my friends what their kids have told them. I think they're fianally catching on that in a small town it doesn't take long for news to get back to me.
I hated growing up in a small town because you couldn't even pick your nose without your parents knowing.....not that I was a frequent nose picker. I was usually in trouble for my creative toilet paper decorating business.

is that like don't ask don't tell?

Congrats on the SAT! Awesome job! :cool1:

As to the facebook find. I fear those days. Oh do I fear them. I have a photo on my Facebook page of myself shooting an AK-47. (Long story there...not mine of course, but I was able to shot three rounds courtesy of a friend/Poice Acadmeny instructor who was carefully monitoring!) That photo will be blown up poster sized and hung on the front door when the girls start dating!

Were you in the military at some point??

The only problem is that most of his friends are also my friends. One of those "perks" of my jobs- small expat community= everyone knows someone. :lmao:

Congrats! That is some amazing news! You are doing a great job!

Thanks!! I'm not sure most/ even even some was me; he's a pretty smart cookie; although I thought he'd be smarter and keep his pictures of hand-holding off FB!!! :lmao:

Fantastic!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Way to go, Mom!!!

That's what we're hoping!!! Hopefully he'll either get a bunch of school scholarship dough, OR he'll get into the ROTC and get a full ride. Scares me though going that route. Lots going on in the world right now, and chances are better than good he'll get shipped off somewhere.

Great places Maroo!!!!

I wonder if 'Ohana will be too much the night before your run though? Can you swap Le Cellier with 'Ohana??? I remember eating at 'Ohana.. I was so stuffed!pirate:

I think I'd be stuffed at either!! And who can resiste peel and eat shrimp?!:cloud9:

Do you think they'd let me put it up next to the welcome sign??

Every mother hopes their son will be able to navigate the world of courtship and marriage well. So, it's not all a bad thing, just a little shocking that it snuck up so fast. :scared1:

Thanks, Sandy! We called him at 11:00 last night to tell him how proud we are of him!!

True, but again, who can pass up the peel and eats??

That is so awesome! That's great for you and him!

THANKS!!! Hope it turns into some well earned dough!

Sending you both a well-deserved congratulations! :thumbsup2

AWWW!!! THANKS, so much! It's been some long years of hardwork for both of us!

How Awesome!! You get some of that credit for teaching him! I think you deserve an extra day at disneyworld.

OK, I'll take it!! Oh wait, I already took 3... :rotfl2::yay::woohoo::lmao:

Me too.

We'd see how high into the walnut and apricot trees we could get it. :lmao: Man, that was some fun! I was so naughty... we played "Ding, Dong, Ditch'em too. Even funner. Crank calls, skinny dipping in the apartment pool. That all stopped about 6th grade. After that I was the complete and full-on total nerd, band geek, etc... I think I even picked my nose too. :rolleyes1

Thanks for the congrats. It was great news last night! Did you read the mixed up bathroom story? Go back and read that; it's right up your alley.

I love that idea!! Warning posters on the door. Your wife also invite the poor young man over for a dinner of something like fried rice and only give him chopsticks- you could quickly get a peek into his character. ;)

Great news on the SAT scores! I'm so out of the loop, "back in my day" I think the highest score you could get was 1500 or 1600. It was only 12 years ago, so I should remember, but I don't.

It used to be 1600... now there is another section- writing. So 2400 is the new max. I wonder what my old SAT score would translate into todays scores?:confused3

Tim's write (;) see below). I think they added the writing section becuz no one could rite anything coherent anymore- kidz would get to skool and flounder in that area. Hence, a new section.

Mine were so bad. I was totally embarassed (sp?- always did have a hard time with that one). But got into the school I wanted to anyways (Northern Arizona U. -Go Lumberjacks!), so it didn't matter. But no money- not even close. :rolleyes1

DH and I were contemplating that very fact last night too. I know I'd do terribly in math, but I think my writing and Comp. Reading scores would go WAY up! It'd be fun to take it just because someday, I think.

WOW! This was great! Finally a paragraph I could understand!:lmao:

Tonight is the opposite of last night. No one is around. I've just been reading the theme parks & dining boards. I should of been writing the next installment of my TR. I have to upload the photos first though.:surfweb:

We share your happiness and delight!!! (and shock!) From wahoo! to wowza we're here for you!

Don't you apologize for being excited about your son's score. You did not sound like you were bragging at all. You sounded like a justifiably proud and excited Mama!!

Congratulations!! That is an amazing score! :cheer2:

As for the girlfriend, all I want to know is, is she cute and does she look like she's a Mickey-lover?? 'Cause these are the important things, y'know! :rotfl:

Hey, Heather! Thanks!! It's good to know there's other out there who can be excited with me!!

I just saw you on Christine's report; such a sweet gift bag you left her; can't wait to hear about your Adventurer's Club dinner with her.

I'm glad you didn't read it that way. ;) Mom's will go to great lengths to brag on their kids, though!!

Yes, she's very cute, and invited me to be a friend on FB. HA!! She's really outgoing and sweet; too bad she's only a Junior and he'll be going back to the States for school in June. I think it won't be anything more than a testing grounds for bigger things to come. But she is a nice one to keep him company. princess:

I am studying for the SAT, and I share my cousin's oppinion-"SAT is short for SATAN" :lmao: I hate that zillion-mile thick book...
