Let's Roast This Pig!- A March/April Birthday TR [Final Wrap Up! 9/27]

 I have never seen the place you showed your parents. They must have been so proud of all the things you learned on the Dis.

You have been having some great character interactions. I love that Aurora asked you if you made it through your 16th bday. It would have taken a minute for that to click and would have looked at her like she was crazy.

I love the picture of your dad with Marie. I think if I was a guy I won't know how to feel about taking a picture with a cute, fluffy kitty with a bow either:rotfl:

Aw.. I didn't know she meowed:lovestruc We always miss meeting her for some reason.

Sunshine Seasons looks yummy.

Wait, so you can meet Pooh and Tigger in the back of the toy store in the UK?! I never knew that! Oh, and Tigger is my dad's favorite too. :)

Great story from meeting Aurora. I love when they interact with people. It makes the experience so much more fun.

Great update and I love the interaction that you had with Princess Aurora! The pictures you took around WS are great! I love all the topiaries and I love how you grabbed a pic of Belle even tho her lineup was too long:thumbsup2

Thank you! Yeah I wanted to meet her as I haven't met her in her blue dress before, but at least I got a picture of it!

LOL! Yes I bet they were very proud. I'm surprised they still let me come on here after that! Yes the character interactions this trip were pretty amazing! And yeah my Dad looks so out of place right? haha If it weren't for my Dad I would have had no funny pictures this trip! And yes sunshine seasons was delicious. It was probably my favorite QS of the whole trip!

Yes!! It's a great secret, there's never a line when I go back there to meet them because no one knows about it! You're Dad has good taste! Tigger is so fun, he rocks:thumbsup2 Yeah I was pretty lucky this trip, a ton of the characters interacted with me! It really does make it so much more fun.

Hey DISers! Just wanted to do a little real life update on all the events from this past week! On Thursday we had our senior cruise. We all got to sail on a nice party ship for about 4 hours on the potomac river around DC. It was SO much fun!! I thought it was better than prom and homecoming combined! There was a great dinner with delicious dessert, dancing, casino games, and airbrush tattoos. I danced so much, played roulette for the first time, and had so much fun!

Here's me and one of my best friends Rebecca and I on the deck

And today of course was the big day...I graduated!!! Our graduation was outside on our football field and the weather was perfect. It was cloudy for the most part which was nice, because those robes are so hot!

Everyone was kind of dreading the ceremony as there are 570 kids in my graduating class!:scared1: We were not only the largest class to graduate from my high school but the largest class to ever graduate in the county!

DSCI0816-1.jpg

I had to wear my graduation ears of course:cutie:

DSCI0829.jpg

^That's only about half of us!!

Overall the ceremony went quite well and didn't take too long. Some kids had smuggled in beach balls and other blow up toys to throw around during the calling of the names. They were of course taken away though, lol. It was a great day though, and being done with high school forever is such a great feeling!:)

Do you all like the pink hidden Mickey I put on my cap?! lol

^See that kid behind me? We have the same last name and unfortunately I had to sit next to him, it was so disgusting he kept spitting during the whole ceremony:crazy2:

Getting my diploma!

Rebecca and I again with our diplomas.

So now that I'm done with high school, I'm off to CNU in August! After that Disney World:cheer2:

Congratulations!! Great pictures! Your cruise sounds like a great time! I don`t blame you for being disgusted in the guy spitting the whole time...that`s disgusting:sick:

Congrat on graduating! That's soooo exciting!!!! I just finished my junior year and I can't wait till my graduation. LOL. (Not that I'm wishing my senior year away. I hope you have a good last summer before college.

Thank you!! The cruise was a blast, I was surprised at how much fun it was! Yes that guy was so gross, I kept reminding myself "This is the very last time I'll ever have to sit next to/see him ever again". That really helped!:rotfl:

Thank you so much! And congrats to you for surviving junior year! lol That year was one of the hardest for me. Haha I don't blame you for wanting to be done with high school! Senior year is definitely fun, but halfway through everyone is just ready for it to be over.

March 30,2011- Animal Kingdom- BIRTHDAY DAY!

Wow I can't believe it took this long to make it halfway through this TR, but we finally made it to my birthday day!:woohoo:

According to my trip journal we got up at 6:30 to get ready. I believe there was morning EMH that day so we wanted to be there around 8.
I was super excited for today as I would be turning 18!!!

My wonderful Dad went to the ASMu food court to get me my birthday Mickey waffle for breakfast while my Mom and I got ready.

DISNEYWORLDBIRTHDAYTRIP2011255.jpg

Outfit for the birthday festivities!

After eating breakfast we left the room and got in the nonexistant line for the AK bus. We waited no more than 10 minutes I'd say and pretty soon we had our own private birthday bus to AK!!

DISNEYWORLDBIRTHDAYTRIP2011256.jpg

My Dad was happy we had our own bus I guess? lol
See his shirt? If you can't tell its an EE shirt that he found at a thrift store and bought just for the trip!

DISNEYWORLDBIRTHDAYTRIP2011259.jpg

^I had to get a picture of this!

We pulled into AK and joined the small crowd waiting to get in.
DISNEYWORLDBIRTHDAYTRIP2011260.jpg

As soon as they let us in we headed straight for EE!!

My parents had never ridden this before and I was excited to see how they'd like it. It was pretty much a walk on, and the ride was great of course!
My parents LOVED it and we got back in line again. After our second go round, we got some FPs for later and moved on.

We decided to go ahead and do the safari since it was a nice cool morning.

We had to wait in line a little bit but overall it wasn't too bad and pretty soon we were on our 2 week expedition in Africa!

This guy sure looks friendly eh?

DSCI0289.jpg

This guy was right next to our car, hence the actually sort of good picture:laughing:

DSCI0290.jpg

Look! It's a...tree! :confused3

^10 points to anyone who can find the animal in this picture! (Look very hard in the upper left corner)

More elephants

DSCI0304.jpg

I love giraffes, my Mom always calls me giraffe legs since I'm 5'10:lmao:

DSCI0306.jpg

The Lion doing what he does best:rolleyes:

DSCI0307.jpg

Look it's Pumba! I think he's a lot cuter on screen though...Lol

After the safari, the exit brought us out right by the nature trails, and since my Mom loves animals and nature we decided to check them out!
For some reason I had started to get really tired around this time, we had to stop for a minute because i was so exhausted already. But I insisted that we should keep going.

DSCI0309.jpg

The momma gorilla with her baby:cutie:

IMAG0123.jpg

Timon was there too! I love the meerkats, they're so cute.

After the trails, we were somewhat close to Rafiki's planet watch I believe so we hopped on the train.

We went inside the lovely air conditioned building there to check out what was happening. We saw something in the animal operation room that you don't see everyday: an alligator getting a toe amputated! I don't remember the whole story, but they had to amputate one of his toes after he got it caught on something or hurt it somehow.

DSCI0311.jpg

Notice how his operation table is a ladder!

My tiredness really started to hit me again. We found these little rooms behind the character spots where you go in and listen to animal noises. Let me tell you, if you are ever really tired and need a place to nap, this is it. These rooms are dark and have nice big seats to crash on! lol While my parents listened to the random bird noises, I got a nice 5 minute nap in:laughing:

We went outside to see the petting zoo but didn't stay there long at all. After we were done we decided to move on to something else, so we hopped on the train back to the rest of the park.

Up Next: More birthday fun at AK!

Firstly, congratulations on your graduation! (: You definitely had a big class. The amount of people graduating at my school this year was nothing compared to yours. And my class is supposed to be smaller O.o

Expedition Everest was a good choice to go first. Love that ride! :goodvibes And I love the picture of the giraffe peaking his head over the trees (Yes, the one where you had us guess) It looked like his mouth was open, looking through the computer LOL And I think Pumbaa looks a lot better in real life than in the movies LOL ;)

Thank you! Yeah my class sure was huge, the halls at my school were always way too overcrowded. You win the 10 points! I was worried no one would be able to see the giraffe that well. Haha Pumbaa looked a little creepy to me, I definitely like his cartoon self better.

March 30, 2011- AK Part 2

Once we got back from Rafiki’s, I was dragging still. I was in desperate need of a pick me up so we stopped by a little outdoor cart selling snacks. I got a much needed iced coffee which perked me up, and we also got a delicious paw print brownie that all three of us split.

DSCI0316.jpg

DSCI0317.jpg

The coffee really helped and I instantly felt better so we moved on to go conquer our fears on Dinosaur! As we approached Dinosaur we saw CM’s standing there blocking the entrance. They said the ride was down and had no idea when it would be back up. We decided to go ahead and get FP’s for it since it’s a must do for us.

DSCI0318.jpg

DSCI0319.jpg

As we were walking away, FP’s in hand, they suddenly opened it up! We quickly sprinted and got in the short line.

Man I love this ride, there’s nothing like that refreshing feeling after getting scared to death by horrifying dinosaurs!

After Dinosaur we explored Dinoland a little bit. For some reason we decided to ride Triceratops Spin. We waited awhile for it, and it was kinda lame. lol But still very cute of course.

DSCI0320.jpg

It was a great view up there!

DSCI0326.jpg

I love this big guy:goodvibes Notice how I somehow got a bug in the shot while taking that picture! Lol

By that time our FP were ready for Dinosaur so we rode that again. I managed to get a good picture of our ride photo. FYI I wasn’t really that scared, I was just hamming it up for the photo:rolleyes1 Really…I swear.

DSCI0327.jpg

It was around lunchtime then so we headed over to Flametree BBQ for some food. I love this QS, it’s so yummy! I got the chicken sandwich and my parents got the . I got the same thing when I was there last summer and it was totally different kind of sanwhich, it was dry and had different bread. This time it had actual sliced wheat bread and had a yummy berry type spread on it

DSCI0328.jpg

DSCI0329.jpg

I just love this outdoor seating area. Especially when all those crazy birds are running around looking for food:laughing:

DSCI0330.jpg

I LOVE these chairs. They’re so colorful and cute.

After lunch we headed over to Camp Minnie Mickey. On our way though we got some awesome photopass pictures at the Tree of Life. These are some of my favorite pics from the whole trip!

Photo0043FourBySix.jpg

Photo0047FourBySix.jpg

I’d seen these kinds of photos on the DIS for awhile and had always wanted one. When the photopass guy told me to hold my hand up I was like “huh??” then I realized what it was!! I was so happy I finally got to have one of these awesome photos, with my birthday balloons on my actual birthday!:goodvibes:cloud9:

Photo0050FourBySix.jpg

DSCI0334.jpg

Who doesn’t love a cute pink flamingo?!

DSCI0331.jpg

There were baby ducklings by the tree, they were so stinkin cute!!:goodvibes

After our awesome photo shoot, we finally got to Camp Minnie Mickey. I really wanted to see the FOTLK as I had never seen it before. We still had about an hour to kill before the show started and we saw Thumper and Miss Bunny were out greeting!

My Mom and I got in line immediately, we have 3 rabbits at home so we had to meet them! Once it was our turn, we had to give them both hugs, they are so huggable!! While Miss Bunny was signing my autograph book I thought that for some reason I would have to find a new page for Thumper so once she was done I tried to find a page. Thumper pointed out though that he sign’s after the heart so it says “Miss Bunny <3’s Thumper”. My Mom said something like “Oh so you love Miss Bunny!” Thumper was so cute and shook his paw, signaling “eh, kinda” LOL! My Mom and I were cracking up.

DSCI0340.jpg

After our great meet with them, we got in line for FOLTK which was quickly growing. We waited a long time, about 45 minutes I’d say, and finally were let in.

Let me just tell you, this show was AMAZING!!! Even my parent’s liked it which is so rare for them!! To this day my Mom still talks about how great it is!! Here are some pictures I took

The tumble monkeys were so awesome!

DSCI0360.jpg

And the bird part was so beautiful.

After the awesome show, we used our FP’s for EE that we had saved up still. My Mom bought me my “birthday present” (the whole trip was my present technically, but she agreed to buy me one thing one my actual birthday) I had been eyeing this guy all day, so this is what I got when we rode EE again.:cutie:

DSCI0386.jpg

Even though the last thing I needed was another stuffed animal, I didn’t care, he’s so freaking cute!

After our final adventurous trip on EE, we decided to head out, but still had one last thing we wanted to do in AK!

Up next: Getting kissed by a monkey on my birthday!!;)

Awww, I love that Yeti! They are so cute. I was going to get one on my last trip, but it was expensive and I was more focused on building a pin collection rather than stuffed animal collection. I think my friend got one, but I'm not sure :confused3 The food at Flame Tree BBQ looks really good. I've heard some good things about it, so I think I'll have to check it out next time I go. :thumbsup2 And I love the whole balloon picture thing, I should get one of those when I go next year for my sixteenth birthday! (: Can't wait to read about your last moments in AK! :mickeyjum

Yeah aren't they adorable?! They are pretty expensive though. You should definitely check out Flame Tree, the food rocks and the outdoor seating area is beautiful. Yes the balloon photopass pics were so fun, you should definitely get them for your 16th bday.:thumbsup2

So I'm obviously very late to your TR and admittedly haven't gotten very far yet. I will try and get caught up quickly and post more later. But I had to comment and say congratulations on your job at Pier One! I actually worked there from my senior year in high school and all through college too! I even worked holidays after I officially quit, up until this past season. It was the first Christmas I hadn't worked there and it felt so strange  I hope you enjoy it as much as I did. :)

Okay, back to reading... popcorn::

:welcome: Better late than never! Thank you, yes I really like working at Pier One. It is such a major step up from my previous job at the Gap outlet store. All of my managers and co workers are so friendly and the shifts are pretty easy. That's exactly what I plan to do as well! My Mom wants me to work holidays and summers when I'm home from college so I'll probably be with them for a while. I've heard Christmas season there is insane so I'm a little worried about that! Lol. Hope you enjoy the TR:thumbsup2

March 30, 2011- AK (Part 3)

So I last left off with us heading for the exit of AK, but we still had one thing left to do....

See Mickey's Jammin' Jungle Parade of course!! :woohoo:

We got an awesome spot to watch the parade, right in the front row! This is probably one of my favorite parades right here. The music is just so awesome, I've actually been listening to it nonstop this summer!

DSCI0364.jpg

DSCI0365.jpg

DSCI0366.jpg

IMAG0133.jpg

So you see King Louie coming right at me? My Mom yelled/pointed "birthday girl right here!!" to him so he came over and kissed me on the cheek. Now you'd think getting kissed by a monkey, on your birthday, would be a good thing. But it really hurt! His mouth is pretty hard plastic:laughing:

DSCI0367.jpg

DSCI0368.jpg

I LOVE Minnie's jeep!! It's just so cute and girly, I adore the car eyelashes too:cutie:

DSCI0370.jpg

I would love to be one of the parade dancer's for this. I just love the soundtrack so much and it seems like so much fun.

DSCI0372.jpg

DSCI0374.jpg

IMAG0140.jpg

See the guy 2nd from the right with the blue mickey hat on? He saw me in the crowd, noticed my button, and wished me a happy birthday! I was kinda shocked that a non CM would wish me a happy birthday, but it was so sweet!

DSCI0381.jpg

After it was over we headed for the exit. We had to get back to our room to get ready for my birthday dinner!

DSCI0382.jpg

Just as we got on the bus to head back to ASMo it started to thunder and torrential downpour, the timing was perfect! Lol!

Up Next: A lovely and very filling birthday dinner at 1900 Park Fare! (Our first time eating TS at Disney!!)

The music from Mickey's Jammin' Jungle Parade is awesome, right? I could listen to it over and over again. Now, if only I've had the chance to see the parade lololol That's so cute that King Louie kissed you :teeth: Sorry it wasn't exactly what you expected. :( I'm sure it was just nice on your birthday. And you shouldn't be surprised by random people saying happy birthday to you, when I was last there, one of the girls that I was... touring with (?) got happy birthdays from CMs and like 5 random people walking by. We thought it was pretty funny, though she thought it was a bit creepy LOL Another reason to get the Birthday pin hahaha :D Can't wait to read about your ADR at 1900 Park Fare! :mickeyjum

Your AK looks so fun. I am still mad at myself for missing FOTLK. I wanted to see it, but Caitlin wanted to see Nemo. Guess who won? I really think we would have liked FOTLK much better, it looks amazing.

I have to see the parade one day. They need to move it up to noon or something. We never make it past lunch time since we always get too hot.

I love the PP balloon pictures. I was trying to get some magic shots this trip, but only managed maybe 2 with Caitlin. :headache:
