Let's Roast This Pig!- A March/April Birthday TR [Final Wrap Up! 9/27]

March 29, 2011- Epcot (Part 4)

I last left off with us finally arriving at the entrance to WS. It was already around 2 o clock so I was anxious to get started and worried we wouldn’t get all the way around the world!

First up was of course Mexico. Last time I went with my parents we never made it all the way around, so this half was totally new to them!

DISNEYWORLDBIRTHDAYTRIP2011175.jpg

worst picture of Mexico ever.

I suggested we go inside the pavilion since my parents honeymooned in Mexico plus it’s nice and cool in there:laughing:

So we took a look inside for a minute. My Dad wanted to buy one of the huge sombrero’s but I said no way!!

DISNEYWORLDBIRTHDAYTRIP2011177.jpg

Creepy skull things...

Aren't these birds pretty?

Donald.jpg

I really wanted to meet Mexico Donald but he was leaving as soon as I got in line :(

After looking around Mexico for awhile we moved on to Norway. I really wanted to ride the Maelstrom, as I had never ridden it before, but the wait was something ridiculous like 60 minutes or so. I said forget it, maybe we’d come back later.

We didn’t look around Norway at all for some reason, so we moved on to China! As soon as we came upon the gates we saw Mulan!!!:woohoo: If you didn’t know, she’s my favorite Disney princess, even if she technically isn’t one.

DISNEYWORLDBIRTHDAYTRIP2011179.jpg

The line was pretty long (which was surprising for Mulan!) but we decided to wait anyways. Now, one of the main reasons I like Mulan so much is because I am in LOVE with her man, Shang. To me he is the hottest Disney hunk ever:love::love::love:

So needless to say I was determined to ask her about him. We got to talking about Mushu and birthdays or something since I was wearing my button, and she seemed kind of rushed. But I quickly said “Well you know it’s actually my dream to meet Shang…” I think I caught her off guard because she paused for a second! I’m pretty sure she doesn’t get asked about him very often lol! She said “Oh...okay, well you’d have to join the army and go through training every day. We get up very early and train all day. Would you be up to that?” My reply” For Shang, I would do anything!!” :rotfl:

DISNEYWORLDBIRTHDAYTRIP2011180.jpg

Explaining the training routine to me:laughing:

DISNEYWORLDBIRTHDAYTRIP2011181.jpg

After meeting Mulan we took one of my favorite pictures of the trip at a photopass spot.

DISNEYWORLDBIRTHDAYTRIP2011182.jpg

We stopped at the outpost to get a cool drink, but got out of line after waiting for about 15 minutes. There was definitely something wrong with the way things were running there as all the CM’s seemed unorganized and not well trained. :confused3I kinda felt bad for them.

We then stopped by Germany where we saw Snow White was out. When I was really really little, about 3 years old, I apparently watched Snow White every single day, for about a good 3 months or so. For some reason she was my favorite and I just loved her movie! I had never met Snow so I kind of wanted to meet her. Just as we were about to get in line, the CM said she would be leaving soon, but would be back in about 20 minutes. I said forget it, so we sat on a bench for awhile while DDad went to get us a frozen lemonade to cool us off. It had gotten very hot out!

While we waited for my Dad to come back, I decided I really did want to meet Snow so we were second in line. While we waited a younger teenage boy behind us in line started chatting to my mother and I. He kept saying how he was getting all the princess signatures for his girlfriend. I kept thinking, yeah right, admit you like meeting them yourself:laughing: He was very nice though, and had already met a ton of the princesses!

DISNEYWORLDBIRTHDAYTRIP2011184.jpg

DISNEYWORLDBIRTHDAYTRIP2011183.jpg

While we waited my DDad had decided he needed a place to sit down, well where does he sit….? On Snow White’s wishing well!!!:rotfl: We told him to leave quickly as she was coming out soon.

Finally Snow came out and I got to meet her. She was very sweet, and of course had the perfect Snow White voice, lol.

DISNEYWORLDBIRTHDAYTRIP2011185.jpg

After meeting Snow we looked around Germany for a bit then continued around the world

Up Next: Which country were we headed for? And would we make it around the WS in time??

haha, my dad got one of those phone calls from Goofy too! :thumbsup2

I LOVE the F&GF. The topiaries are awesome and I definitely agree that it was so nice to see the blue sky and see the flowers with no rain!

Aww cute! The Goofy one was hilarious:goodvibes Yes I am SO glad we went during the F&GF, I think my Mom really really liked it, especially on a day with no rain:woohoo:

Love the Mulan meet and greet:thumbsup2 I love when you ask the princesses questions and they have to come up with an answer quickly. Looks like she did a good job.

I love that Snow White actually always sounds like Snow White. Too cute.

Haha yeah it's funny to see what answers they will come up with! I felt kinda bad though for making her have to think so quickly:laughing: I love her voice too. It annoys some people, but I mean that's how she's supposed to sound!!

I love just walking through all of World Showcase with very little stops. It is so much fun to see everything. I love the photo ops they have and such. I've sadly never had the chance to meet a character there, though I really want to, but I've made decisions to breeze by. Though I may have met more characters if I did and had some more fun conversations (something like your Mulan one, minus the theme LOL). It is pretty obvious those who play characters love their jobs (: Can't wait to read more about your journey around the World, update soon! :mickeyjum

Ironically me and two of my friends were talking about whether Mulan was a Princess or not:confused3...we decidce yes. :thumbsup2

Yeah I always try to take WS slowly but we end up going so fast trying to get to every country! But yeah the photo ops are really great around WS. I love having the lagoon in the background of photos:cloud9: Yes they must love having that job, who wouldn't?! :)

Ironically me and two of my friends were talking about whether Mulan was a Princess or not:confused3...we decidce yes. :thumbsup2

Haha yeah I agree she should be considered a princess! It's not fair that because she wasn't born/married into royalty she's now an outcast. I think she's still a great role model for little girls, royalty or not!:thumbsup2

Great update!

My daughter also had a great conversation with Mulan on our last trip....I think sometimes they think older teens are just there to get the pic and leave....glad she took the time to chat with you.

I love the pic in front of the wishing well with Snow...it's beautiful! I also love the one of you and your parents with Italy in the background!!

Yes I love it when they have conversations with teens and adults too! I'm glad Mulan is great to chat with:goodvibes And thank you! Yes I really love the one with my parents, before the trip we only had one picture of us all together, now we have a lot more!!:thumbsup2

March 29, 2011- Epcot (Part 6)

After meeting Snow White we saw the new Tangled tower right at the edge of Germany.

DISNEYWORLDBIRTHDAYTRIP2011190.jpg

I LOVE Tangled, so I'm really glad they put that in there!!

The next country was Italy. The Lady and the Tramp topiaries were beautiful!

DISNEYWORLDBIRTHDAYTRIP2011192.jpg

DISNEYWORLDBIRTHDAYTRIP2011193.jpg

I also saw Via Napoli. I wish we would have had the time and the money to eat there as it looks amazing.

DISNEYWORLDBIRTHDAYTRIP2011191.jpg

I also took some pictures of the view of the Epcot ball from where we were.

DISNEYWORLDBIRTHDAYTRIP2011194.jpg

DISNEYWORLDBIRTHDAYTRIP2011195.jpg

Then we came across America which we breezed by.

DISNEYWORLDBIRTHDAYTRIP2011199.jpg

I kind of wanted to see VOL, but I'm pretty sure my Dad would be bored to death so we moved on, lol!

After that was Japan! We spent a ton of time here and had so much fun.

DISNEYWORLDBIRTHDAYTRIP2011200.jpg

As we came upon Japan we saw a group of Japanese drummers performing. They were amazing!!!

DISNEYWORLDBIRTHDAYTRIP2011202.jpg

Now in my last update I mentioned how I love Shang from Mulan. Well it's kind of my goal to find a guy that looks like him, and ever since I've been obsessed with Asian guys. So I took a lot of pictures of the cute guy in the group:rotfl:

DISNEYWORLDBIRTHDAYTRIP2011210.jpg

DISNEYWORLDBIRTHDAYTRIP2011214.jpg

DISNEYWORLDBIRTHDAYTRIP2011216.jpg

DISNEYWORLDBIRTHDAYTRIP2011218.jpg

After taking way too many pictures of that guy, we went inside the Mitsukoshi store.

rr.jpg

My Dad and I both LOVE Volkswagens so we really liked this bug model. We didn't like the price so much though ($332!!!!)

I had debated in my mind even before we left for the trip as to whether or not I wanted to do the pick a pearl. On my trip last summer with Jamie her 2 little brothers did it and it looked like a lot of fun. So I asked my parents, and my Dad bought me a ticket, I was then #3 in line!

I picked out which one I wanted while waiting and pretty soon I was finding out what was inside!

rr3.jpg

rr2.jpg

I got a 7 1/4mm white pearl and it is absolutely beautiful!

We looked around the store for awhile more...

DISNEYWORLDBIRTHDAYTRIP2011208.jpg

I really wanted this Graduation Hello Kitty in the green (it's my school color) but it was like $14 and I just couldn't justify the cost.

rr4.jpg

Me with my pearl, and Pikachu!:cutie:

Once we were done we headed outside to the beautiful gardens.

DISNEYWORLDBIRTHDAYTRIP2011203.jpg

Can this be in my backyard please??:cloud9: (Speaking of backyards, did anyone watch that new show My Yard Goes Disney? I thought it was pretty cute. I'm so jealous of those little kids though! I wish I could have a train and a giant Tinkerbell inspired teapot in my backyard to play with!!)

DISNEYWORLDBIRTHDAYTRIP2011205.jpg

Hidden Mickey!

DISNEYWORLDBIRTHDAYTRIP2011204.jpg

Koi fish are so beautiful

DISNEYWORLDBIRTHDAYTRIP2011207.jpg

After spending at least an hour and a half in Japan we decided to move on to Morocco.

Up Next: My parents are shocked to see what I learned about from the DIS...

I love the Rapuzel tower in Epcot. I hope it stays there.

I caught the last 15 minutes of the new Disney lawn show. DD must have said "That's not fair" at least 200 in that time. I liked the swing and the teapot the most. The DHS is my least favorite park icon, so I don't now if I would want to look at it everyday, but I think I would suffer through it if need be.

I can't wait to find out what good info you learned on the Dispopcorn::

The Rapunzel tower in Germany is so cool. I still don't get how I missed it when I was last there. :/ And I wish I had seen the Lady and the Tramp topiaries, too. I missed so much in EPCOT, I totally regret it :( I love the pics you took of Spaceship Earth, so pretty across the WS lagoon. And that is a very nice pearl (: The pikachu stuffed animal looks awesome! An old favorite of mine, I will totally admit :thumbsup2 The Koi fish look so cool... Can't wait to hear about what shocking info you learned on here! You must update soon with that teaser :goodvibes

Aww that's cute, I was definitely jealous of those kids too! lol Let's just say what I learned from the DIS is um quite interesting.

I'm sorry you missed so much in Epcot! I feel like it's easy to miss a lot there though because there's just so much to see. Ahaha I loved Pikachu too! He was definitely my favorite Pokemon of all time:goodvibes

I keep looking for me and my sister in your pictures since we were at Epcot that night too. No luck yet though. haha

I love that little pond in the Japan pavilion. It is so pretty. Actually, now that I've actually walked through it the whole place is pretty.

March 29, 2011-Epcot (Part 7)

After our lovely time in Japan, we decided it was time to move on. Next up was Morocco.

I wanted to get a good picture of the fountain but there were too many people.
DISNEYWORLDBIRTHDAYTRIP2011219.jpg

DISNEYWORLDBIRTHDAYTRIP2011220.jpg

DISNEYWORLDBIRTHDAYTRIP2011222.jpg

My Dad got a Japanese head wrap thing back in Japan and decided to wear it in Morocco:rotfl2: I worry about him sometimes....lol
DISNEYWORLDBIRTHDAYTRIP2011224.jpg

I really liked taking pictures of lanterns this trip!
DISNEYWORLDBIRTHDAYTRIP2011223.jpg

We wandered back further and came across this...

DISNEYWORLDBIRTHDAYTRIP2011225.jpg

:lmao: I'd seen this on the weird/strange/odd/disturbing photo thread many times before and had to tell my parents. They were quite shocked I'd learned this from the DIS! LOL

DISNEYWORLDBIRTHDAYTRIP2011227.jpg

Hidden Mickey!

DISNEYWORLDBIRTHDAYTRIP2011228.jpg

Anyways, moving on we then stopped by France.

DISNEYWORLDBIRTHDAYTRIP2011235.jpg

DISNEYWORLDBIRTHDAYTRIP2011238.jpg

Belle was out meeting but I think the line was a little too long.
DISNEYWORLDBIRTHDAYTRIP2011229.jpg

However we saw Marie was out and her line was very short! So of course we had to meet her since my Mom also loves Marie too. As we were taking the picture, Marie started meowing!! My Mom started meowing back:rotfl2: Soon Marie and my Mom were meowing back at each other. Haha it was so weird, I had no idea Marie could meow!

DISNEYWORLDBIRTHDAYTRIP2011232.jpg

I love how my Dad is trying to stand all manly in the back of the picture. I guess he felt a little odd taking a picture with a white fluffy cat with a pink bow:rotfl:

We also saw Aurora was out. She's my favorite actual princess, so of course I had to meet her! When it was my turn she of course saw my button and asked if I had survived my 16th birthday. I was like uhm yeah?....So she grabbed my hand to check my finger. I then realized she was checking to see if my finger had been pricked by a spindle!

DISNEYWORLDBIRTHDAYTRIP2011236.jpg

DisneyPhotopassCDPics034.jpg

DISNEYWORLDBIRTHDAYTRIP2011237.jpg

It was late in the afternoon by then and we decided to stop for a nice treat at the pastry shop there in France. I got the chocolate mousse and my parents got a napoleon. They were delicious!

DISNEYWORLDBIRTHDAYTRIP2011239.jpg

Mickey thought so too.

Continued in next post

After relaxing for a bit, we moved on to the UK. I told my parents I had to show them something in the back of the toy store...It was Pooh and Tigger of course!:) My Mom was excited because one of her friends at work is from India and is so confused at the idea of a childrens character being named Pooh. lol! So she had wanted to get a picture of Pooh to show her what he's like!

DISNEYWORLDBIRTHDAYTRIP2011241.jpg

Tigger is my favorite:cutie:

As we exited the toy shop we saw the British Invasion was done with their set and taking pictures. I hopped in line just for fun. I'm not like a huge fan of them or anything but I'm so glad I got a picture with them as they of course left Epcot about a month later!

DISNEYWORLDBIRTHDAYTRIP2011242.jpg

After the UK we stopped in Canada for awhile and just sat on a bench for a good 1/2 hour just to rest our feet and people watch. By then it was getting close to dinner time so we ended our tour of WS and headed back to FW to get some food at Seasons.

DISNEYWORLDBIRTHDAYTRIP2011243.jpg

My Mom found a table while my Dad and I got the food. The CM who rang our food up was really funny and really nice. I forget his name but he told me about the college program and how much he likes it.

I got the chicken with cashews and my parents split some kind of sandwich.
DISNEYWORLDBIRTHDAYTRIP2011244.jpg

After dinner it was almost time for Illuminations. My parents were pretty tired by then and didn't want to stay for much of it. We decided to sit on one of the planters in the walkway between FW and WS so we could at least see a little bit. Well once it started I could see nothing, so we bagged it and decided to head out. On the way out though I realized we hadn't done Spaceship Earth!

DISNEYWORLDBIRTHDAYTRIP2011246.jpg

There was literally no one in there (including CM's!)and we walked right on the ride. This ride was much cooler than I remembered and I hammed it up for the photo... My Mom hates having her picture being taken so she covered her face. That resulted in them using my picture twice for the ending video:rotfl:

DISNEYWORLDBIRTHDAYTRIP2011253.jpg

You can't really tell the crazy face I'm making from this one, but I'm not brave enough to post it anyways so this is the best you'll get!

After SE we were finally done for the day and went to go wait for our bus back to ASMo. When we got back to the room, it hit me that I'd forgotten to do something I had really wanted to try: Club Cool!!:headache: I was kind of bummed but hey it's something to do next time I go right?

That was it for our Epcot day! We went to bed right away as the big day was tomorrow...my birthday of course!!!:cheer2:

Up Next: A magical 18th birthday in Animal Kingdom!

That's awesome, Marie started meowing! I love when the fuzzies begin to make noises, because it's one of those "Whoa!" I also love the pictures you took around World Showcase before then. I love those Beauty & the Beast topiaries! (: That's funny how Aurora was looking at your finger because you survived your sixteenth birthday LOL :lmao: Great you got to see the British Invasion before they left and I'm sorry you missed Club Cool and IllumiNations. I've never done Club Cool, so I definitely must do it on my next trip (: :thumbsup2 to the last Spaceship Earth ride! A classic favorite of mine :goodvibes I can't wait to read about how your birthday day goes. Been waiting so long LOL ;)

Haha yeah I had no idea the fur characters could make noises! And yes aren't those topiaries awesome? I want one in my backyard! lol Yeah I was kinda bummed we couldn't see Illuminations but I did get a great view of it last year when I went at least. Hahaha yes it's been quite a while since I started this TR, and I'm just now getting to my birthday!

Great update and I love the interaction that you had with Princess Aurora! The pictures you took around WS are great! I love all the topiaries and I love how you grabbed a pic of Belle even tho her lineup was too long:thumbsup2
