Let's Roast This Pig!- A March/April Birthday TR [Final Wrap Up! 9/27]

The rain didn't stop you at all! You get to meet BOTH Stitch and Buzz with little wait. That's pretty awesome :) I'm glad you got to try CoP, it is one of those rides most downgrade. It really is a great ride and one of the original rides that Walt actually worked on. :thumbsup2 to beating your score, everyone says the trick is to hold down on the button. Its weird... Well, those muffins and pizza look delicious enough, hopefully they will help stop the evil rain :) Can't wait to read more! Update soon! :mickeyjum

Aww, that is cute how they still do some sort of "parade" even on rainy days. I never knew that before! I'm with you about the rain. Yeah, the crowds may disappear but like you, we could only take so much of it. :sad2:

As for the next day, I'm going with dry (for the most part, if I am remembering correctly!)! :)

That's a good question about photobucket. I don't know the answer since I don't use photobucket a whole lot, but if there is a way to resize pictures at once that would be nice!! Hope someone can respond.

Yeah it's a tough decision sometimes, stick it out with out any crowds, or go back to a nice warm dry room :goodvibes And you remembered correctly:thumbsup2 I just hate resizing each photo, I dread that part of updating, it takes sooo long!

Lol yeah meeting those 2 with short waits was pretty lucky! I love that that was one of the rides Walt designed, it was so fun, it's a shame it isn't more popular! I guess I was the last person on earth to be told the trick for Buzz because I was seriously about to give up on that ride!

March 29, 2011- Day 2-Epcot

So finally after about a month and a half, we are on to day 2!!

We woke up at 7:30 and cautiously looked outside the window to see..... no rain!!!!!!!!!!!:woohoo: It wasn't exactly sunny yet but it was still a great thing to see after an entire day of rain!

Today was our Epcot day and there was no morning EMH so it was nice to not have to rush as much.

My Mom and I got ready as DDad headed to the food court to get coffee for himself and my mom, and also a strawberry Mickey waffle for me!

DISNEYWORLDBIRTHDAYTRIP2011118.jpg

Yumm:goodvibes Definitely the best waffle ever right there.

DISNEYWORLDBIRTHDAYTRIP2011119.jpg

My outfit for the day

I'd say we were out the door by like 8:30ish. We didn't have to wait long for a bus and soon enough we were pulling up to the Experimental Prototype Community Of Tomorrow!

DISNEYWORLDBIRTHDAYTRIP2011120.jpg

DISNEYWORLDBIRTHDAYTRIP2011121.jpg

DISNEYWORLDBIRTHDAYTRIP2011123.jpg

Of course where did we head first...?

If you guessed Soarin, you're right. My parents had never ridden it before so I made sure that was our top priority.

DISNEYWORLDBIRTHDAYTRIP2011126.jpg

DISNEYWORLDBIRTHDAYTRIP2011127.jpg

We followed the mad crowd to the Land Pavilion, grabbed FP's, then hopped in the stand by line which wasn't too bad yet.

DISNEYWORLDBIRTHDAYTRIP2011129.jpg

I love this ride so much. I just love that moment where you think you're about to dip your feet in the water and the smell of the oranges is so relaxing:love:

Since this was my parents' first time I was anxious to see what they thought of it. Well...they LOVED it!! Both of them really really liked it and admitted that when people applaud for a ride at the end, you know you've got a winner:)

After Soarin we decided to go to Test Track which is a big favorite of ours, so we trekked across to the other side of Future World.

DISNEYWORLDBIRTHDAYTRIP2011130.jpg

DISNEYWORLDBIRTHDAYTRIP2011132.jpg

Once we got to TT the standby line was about 70 minutes which was way longer than we wanted to wait, so we hopped in the single rider lane.

The line took forever surprisingly, due to technical difficulties, so to pass the time I took some random shots of the signs in the room.

DISNEYWORLDBIRTHDAYTRIP2011134.jpg

DISNEYWORLDBIRTHDAYTRIP2011135.jpg

I really love this ride since it's one of the more thrilling ones at WDW, I just wish I could have ridden it one more time with my parents, but the lines were insane for that one the whole day so we never went back.
On the way out of TT, my Dad had to stop and talk to the guy trying to sell the fancy cars.

DISNEYWORLDBIRTHDAYTRIP2011136.jpg

My Dad in his new ride lol
The guy trying to promote the cars there saw my button and said "Happy Birthday Claire!"....It was close enough, so I just said thank you.:upsidedow

After we were done at TT we decided to head back across to the other side of Future World again...

Up Next: NEMOOOO!!!!!!!

*I should be doing a real life update this weekend. I have prom on Saturday so I'll be sure to share my pics with you all!:)

Wow I can't believe the lines for Test Track, that is insane! It's an awesome ride but I definitely don't blame you for not wanting to wait for it that long.

The strawberry waffle looks delicious!

I can't wait to hear more:goodvibes

Oh... I just want to jump through the screen and eat that Mickey Waffle. They are the best with the strawberries, that pair just goes hand-in-hand. YUM! Soarin' sounded like it had a short line, since you guys got on fairly quickly, but I'm sorry you only got to ride Test Track once, I have ride that at least twice on my past two trips. LOL @ the guy calling you Claire, but I could see where he got Claire out of Clarice. Can't wait to hear more about your second day, update soon! :mickeyjum

YAY for no rain!!! I was so happy when I woke up and saw that it wasn't raining. Like you said, it wasn't exactly blue skies right away but hey, I'll take cloudy over rain. LOL. I did find myself looking at the sky constantly, worried that it would start pouring again.

We were actually at Epcot that day too but we were there later in the evening to eat at Via Napoli.

Yes I was surprised that they were so long all day! Every ride that day seemed to have really long waits.

Haha yes those strawberry Mickey waffles are the best:) Yeah it bugs me when people mess up my name, but I'm sure it happens to everyone at somepoint.

Yeah exactly, cloudy is way better than nonstop rain. :thumbsup2 That is so cool that you were there too. Too bad we didn't see each other!

March 29, 2011-Epcot (Part 2)

So after we rode Test Track we headed back over again to the other side of Future World to ride Nemo!

On our way over we saw the Jammin Gardeners!! I was so excited to see them, they were amazing! And so funny.
DISNEYWORLDBIRTHDAYTRIP2011138.jpg

Wait...where are they??

DISNEYWORLDBIRTHDAYTRIP2011139.jpg

There they are!

Once we got to Nemo the line was pretty long and they had to keep extending it with the ropes. Even though it was long it at least moved pretty consistently. I thought it was funny that they the CM's working there kept telling everyone to "keep swimming" in the line:laughing:

DISNEYWORLDBIRTHDAYTRIP2011141.jpg

DISNEYWORLDBIRTHDAYTRIP2011140.jpg

DISNEYWORLDBIRTHDAYTRIP2011143.jpg

Mickey decided to make an appearance

DISNEYWORLDBIRTHDAYTRIP2011145.jpg

I love these guys:goodvibes

As you can tell in those pictures the sun actually came out and it started to feel like true Florida weather!:) Once we got inside in the little beachy area, a little girl behind us in line decided to start yelling "NEMOOOO!" It was pretty cute at first as I guess she was trying to "find" Nemo. However the cuteness ended after about the 50th time she yelled for Nemo... Don't get me wrong, I love little kids, but that room echos quite loudly and I was starting to get a headache!

DISNEYWORLDBIRTHDAYTRIP2011148.jpg

This sign amused me as I say that's "swell" a lot, lol.

Finally after what seemed like an eternity (that ride has the longest queue ever!) we boarded our Clammobile. This was a new one for all of us and although the ride moved really slowly we all thought it was very cute.

Afterwards we headed into the cool aquarium discovery zone. We saw some manatees and neat looking fish. My favorite was the dolphin though:lovestruc They're my favorite animal and it's one of my dreams to pet one someday!

We left the Seas, but not without taking the obligatory picture in Bruce.

DISNEYWORLDBIRTHDAYTRIP2011149.jpg

A CM was standing outside the exit and wished me a Happy Birthday and he held his hand up for a high five but took it away just to be funny. I think he said it was payback for me being taller than him or something:rotfl2:

Since we were on that side of FW, we decided to use our Soarin FPs. We were the chosen ones this time around...

DISNEYWORLDBIRTHDAYTRIP2011151.jpg

:rotfl:

DISNEYWORLDBIRTHDAYTRIP2011152.jpg

I don't know why, but I took a picture of my glider

After Soarin we decided to ride Living With the Land. We actually had to wait a few minutes in line but my Mom really likes this one as she has 2 degrees in Horticulture and used to work at a hydroponics greenhouse too.

DISNEYWORLDBIRTHDAYTRIP2011154.jpg

DISNEYWORLDBIRTHDAYTRIP2011155.jpg

DISNEYWORLDBIRTHDAYTRIP2011144.jpg

ahhh, after a day of rain, blue skies had never looked so good!!!

DISNEYWORLDBIRTHDAYTRIP2011156.jpg

DISNEYWORLDBIRTHDAYTRIP2011158.jpg

After Living with the Land our fastpasses for Mission Space were ready so we traveled once again to the other side of FW. We hopped in the Orange side line and soon we were off to Mars. Since it was just my parents and I, we had some random dude in the Navigator seat. Let me just say if I ever have to go to space I will not be hiring this guy! When it came time for him to press his Navigation buttons he just sat there!:confused3

After successfully landing on Mars we exited to the gift shop where I saw...the Tron shirt I'd been wanting!!!! I'm a huge Tron fan and I'd been wanting this shirt ever since I saw it on the DisneyStore website. It was $40.00(:scared1:) but I knew I'd have to get it. I got in line to pay for it and two older CM's were at the register. While the lady rang up my shirt the man dialed a number in to the phone and handed it to me. At first I was confused but then I realized what it was, a birthday call from Goofy!:wizard:

So after that little bit of pixie dust we decided we were getting quite hungry.

Up Next: Where would we eat? And would we ever get to WS?!

Just wanted to do a quick real life update on this past weekend.

Friday night my parents and I went to see POTC4! It was really really good in my opinion. I LOVE Captain Jack Sparrow:love::love::love: I found myself laughing out loud a lot at his hilarious lines. I really liked Penelope Cruz's character,Angelica, too. Her outfits were really pretty and I liked her much better than Keira Knightly. I won't give anything away if anyone hasn't seen it yet but you should definitely see it if you're a fan of the other movies!

IMAG0234.jpg

The lighting in our movie theater is very purplish, hence the purple glow to the photo.

Saturday was Prom! I actually wasn't looking that forward to it as my "group" was pretty lame. I went with my best friend Jamie and her "date" although they're just friends. Most of our friends didn't go to prom for some reason so that's why we had such a small group.

I got my hair done around 1 o'clock, came home got ready, then went to Jamie's house.

I really liked my dress when I first bought it but I don't know the day of I was just unhappy with how short it was on me. I'm 5'10 so finding jeans, dresses, etc. that are long enough for me is nearly impossible. My whole theme for my look was Mermaidish. I had a starfish and seashell barrette in my loose wavy "mermaid" hair. And then I had gold accessories to go with my turquoise/aqua dress.

Prom2011015.jpg

Prom2011019.jpg

Prom2011020.jpg

My Mom hated how short she was next to me so she stood on the railroad ties that border our pond area:rotfl:

Prom2011024.jpg

Overall we had a good time though. The guy that Jamie went with as her date is a jerk though, so that was a little annoying. I'm actually looking more forward to Jamie and I's trip to Kings Dominion in a couple weeks more than I did Prom! Just goes to show I'm definitely a theme park kinda girl:thumbsup2

Looks like you had fun in EPCOT. I can't believe how long your wait in the Seas with Nemo & Friends! I've never seen it that long. And don't you love the aquarium section after you get off? I spent so much time in there. Best part of that pavilion (though the ride is cute too) And I love your pictures from Living With The Land (: I didn't even know I would like that ride, but its pretty cool. Especially when you ride it then get ADRs at Garden Grill after (Awesome restaurant, highly recommend it :)) And lucky you, getting a birthday call from Goofy, how cool is that! :goodvibes Moving to more recent events... I went to see POTC 4 too. Good movie, I'm not sure if as good as the first, but it still was awesome (and I actually hope they make a fifth one :)) Nice to see you had a good Prom! :thumbsup2 Can't wait to read more! Update soon! :mickeyjum

Yeah the aquarium section is so neat, I love sea animals! Living With the Land definitely gets overlooked by most people, it's very interesting though. Garden Grill looks amazing, it's definitely on my dining must do's for the future. I'm glad you enjoyed POTC4 too! I agree it wasn't as good as the first, but it's definitely my second favorite now! :)

March 29, 2011-Epcot (Part 3)

After my magical moment in the Mission Space gift shop, DMom decided she really wanted to check out the Flower & Garden Festival Pavilion. As I mentioned in the last update, she's really into flowers and outdoorsy stuff so we headed over there.

Once we got inside it was pretty deserted and there wasn't much going on. They had a whole bunch of the festival merchandise set up so we looked at that for a minute.

DISNEYWORLDBIRTHDAYTRIP2011162.jpg

I really wanted one of these guys!!! So cute:goodvibes

There was some plant seminar/workshop going on that I'm sure my Mom would have liked to do if we had only known about it!

DISNEYWORLDBIRTHDAYTRIP2011163.jpg

Just a random pic of the ceiling in the pavilion

After spending about 20 minutes in there we left to go get some lunch. We had passed by the Electric Umbrella numerous times that morning and I thought it had looked pretty cool so we headed there.

DISNEYWORLDBIRTHDAYTRIP2011160.jpg

Kind of regret eating here though as we just ended up getting 2 orders of the chicken nuggets, there wasn't really much on the menu to choose from:confused3

DISNEYWORLDBIRTHDAYTRIP2011161.jpg

We got to sit outside though which was nice because it had turned into a beautiful sunny day! While we were sitting there we noticed a special Flower & Garden festival map. When I flipped it open I immediately recognized the vice president of Epcot's name, Dan Cockerell, and got so excited! The reason for my excitement is that last summer I emailed his father, Lee Cockerell, who was the Executive VP of Operations at WDW for 12 years. I emailed him asking for his advice on how I should go about pursuing a Disney management career. He was so sweet and emailed me back right away, he told me how his son started out as a parking lot CM and was promoted to VP of Epcot 2 years ago! So that was really neat seeing his picture in the brochure.

After lunch we finally made our way over to the WS. But first we stopped to see the fairy topiary area, which was so pretty! We saw Vidia and Rosetta but their line was insane.

DISNEYWORLDBIRTHDAYTRIP2011164.jpg

DISNEYWORLDBIRTHDAYTRIP2011165.jpg

DISNEYWORLDBIRTHDAYTRIP2011167.jpg

DISNEYWORLDBIRTHDAYTRIP2011168.jpg

We also saw the Pooh topiaries...

DISNEYWORLDBIRTHDAYTRIP2011169.jpg

DISNEYWORLDBIRTHDAYTRIP2011170.jpg

And the Cars 2 one was amazing!!

DISNEYWORLDBIRTHDAYTRIP2011174.jpg

I absolutely LOVE the landscaping right here. The flowers, the colors, the Mickey's, it's all so beautiful next to the water:lovestruc

DISNEYWORLDBIRTHDAYTRIP2011171.jpg

So we had finally made it to the entrance to WS! I was excited to get started as my parents had never been completely around the world before!

Up Next: Which way would we go??

I really need to plan our next trip during this time....those topiaries are amazing! I think the Cars one is my favorite...but I have to say the ones by the water are stunning!

The little lawn flamingo looks really cute. And I love the pictures you took inside the pavilion! You do know that was originally the Wonders of Life pavilion? It had a bunch of rides in there, but they kinda abandoned all the attractions and changed it to an event pavilion. Just an FYI for ya (: The Electric Umbrella looks like it has some nice little CS options. I just love Chicken Fingers Hahaa And I can't believe you actually got to talk with the Executive Vice President of operations at WDW, almost as crazy as talking with an Imagineer. So cool! :thumbsup2 And I love the pictures you took of the topiaries, so cool, the Cars 2 is probably the best ;) Can't wait to read more, update ASAP! :mickeyjum

You look so pretty in your prom picture:) Your hair looks amazing and your dress in so beautiful.

I loved that Flamingo for the garden. I bought one for my mom b/c she loves flamingos. I wanted one for myself but the box was pretty big and I didnt have much room in the suitcase.

Disney chicken tenders is always my go to menu item when there isn't much to choose from. I haven't had a bad one yet, so at least you know they will be good. :thumbsup2

Yes the topiaries are absolutely beautiful! I think every DISer should see them at least once!:)

I actually didn't know that! That's so cool. Do you read the KK books? If so I think they talked about it in the 3rd book. Yeah the Cars 2 topiary was probably the coolest one out of all of them, they even had the Cars soundtrack playing by it!

Aw thank you very much! Yes those flamingo's are so adorable:goodvibes I wish you could've gotten one though! And yeah you are right, chicken tenders are always pretty good:thumbsup2

I think the dress is fine! Not too short at all.

Well thanks! It wasn't too bad with no shoes on. However when I put my ridiculously tall heels on it just looked kinda funny:laughing:

haha, my dad got one of those phone calls from Goofy too! :thumbsup2

I LOVE the F&GF. The topiaries are awesome and I definitely agree that it was so nice to see the blue sky and see the flowers with no rain!
