Let's Roast This Pig!- A March/April Birthday TR [Final Wrap Up! 9/27]

I love the interaction you had with Jasmine....the face characters are amazing aren't they? Congrats on your first Dole Whip Float...I was cold just looking at the picture:lmao:

Yes I absolutely love the face characters, they are amazing. Hahaha yeah I have no idea how I ate that thing in the cold rain!! It took me awhile to warm up and recover after:laughing:

That is actually a really good Jasmine! Like I mean, it actually looks how I might imagine Jasmine might look in real life. I had my first dole whip on our trip too. Soooo good!

So after I finished up my yummy but very cold Dole Whip Float, we decided to head back to Tomorrowland.

We really wanted to get out of the rain for awhile so we decided to hop on the Peoplemover! This ride was much better than I remembered. I really loved it and I listened closely for the Mr. Tom Morrow part:)

While we were on the ride, I was about to take a picture of my parents and suddenly the wind blew my moms poncho in her face! lol This was the resulting picture...

^:rotfl:

After our nice relaxing (dry) ride on the TTA we decided we were hungry for lunch now. Sooo.....we headed all the way back to Pecos Bill's in Frontierland! lol This was not the last time we walked back and forth between these two lands. I guess we just really didn't have a plan that day, we moved where the wind (or in our case rain) led us!

Pecos Bills was packed but luckily we were able to find a table. It was so dang loud in there!

DDad and I had burgers while DMom had a chicken wrap. I've got to say that was a delicious burger. It tasted so good after being in the cold rain all morning!

DISNEYWORLDBIRTHDAYTRIP2011075.jpg

For dessert we had some Mickey coconut patties that my DDad had picked up in Adventureland earlier. They were yummy too:goodvibes

DISNEYWORLDBIRTHDAYTRIP2011076.jpg

After lunch, Splash Mountain had finally reopened even though it was still raining a bit. The wait wasn't bad at all so we hopped in line.

I absolutely love this ride, it's always been one of my favorites. I just love the theming, the story, the music, all of it!

So after finding our laughing place, we ran into Mickey & Minnie at the exit!! There were only about 3 families waiting so I just had to meet them.

DISNEYWORLDBIRTHDAYTRIP2011077.jpg

DISNEYWORLDBIRTHDAYTRIP2011078.jpg

^It was so cute, Minnie realized my hair was a lost cause and tried to fix it for the picture:cutie:

DISNEYWORLDBIRTHDAYTRIP2011079.jpg

Their outfits were so adorable:goodvibes

After meeting the cutest couple ever we decided to do BTMRR while it was still open. Once we were on the ride, it had started to rain even harder. Now I'm a person who does not like my makeup getting ruined so I covered my face with my poncho and basically could not see for the entire ride...That was an interesting feeling not knowing what drops/turns were coming next:scared1:

After our crazy runaway train ride we were sick of the rain again so we hopped on the train for a nice relaxing (dry) ride around MK.

This was such a good idea, it was nice to be able to just sit and look at the beauty of MK for awhile, not to mention being dry (I wonder how many times I will mention wanting to be dry in this TR...)

DISNEYWORLDBIRTHDAYTRIP2011080.jpg

The new Fantasyland expansion signs

While we were on the train, my crazy AP lang teacher called my mothers cell. My mom didn't answer but my teacher left a message apologizing for what she said. Before we left for WDW I told all my teachers that I would be gone for a week. Most of them weren't too happy but my lang teacher was extremely mad that I was leaving. To make a long story short, my land teacher asked me if my parents had gone to college, when I replied "no..." she basically called them stupid and said that's why they were letting me miss a week of school:eek:

I told my mother what she had said and my mom was not happy at all. She emailed the principle and we're guessing my teacher got a talking to...:rolleyes1 lol But it's all good now!

Back to the train ride...

DISNEYWORLDBIRTHDAYTRIP2011084-1.jpg

^hahah I really liked the lamps in the train so I took a picture of one

DISNEYWORLDBIRTHDAYTRIP2011081.jpg

DISNEYWORLDBIRTHDAYTRIP2011082.jpg

It was so yucky and dark out. It was only around 2:30!

DISNEYWORLDBIRTHDAYTRIP2011083.jpg

Monorail!!! I don't even remember taking this, I got excited when I saw it just now:laughing:

Soon enough we were back at the station in Frontierland where we had got on. When we got off it was still raining but it was almost 3 o clock......

Coming Up: Would the rain stop for the 3 o clock parade?!

Awesome update! I can't believe you actually heard the "Tom Morrow" line on the Peoplemover. I missed it over the two times I went on it. I'm so sad I wasn't there before it was changed to the new narration. :( Pecos Bill is generally a very loud place to be, so just remember that if you go back ;) I love the pictures with Minnie and Mickey. I always thought Farmer Mickey was only at the Garden Grill, but I guess you discover new things everyday :) And I love your monorail picture from the train, it looks so cool from there. Sorry you had to experience all this rain, hope in the next update it goes away :mickeyjum

That is actually a really good Jasmine! Like I mean, it actually looks how I might imagine Jasmine might look in real life. I had my first dole whip on our trip too. Soooo good!

Yeah she did look almost exactly like her. Trying my first dole whip was like the #1 thing I had to do. I wrote it in my trip planning stuff about 8 times. lol Glad you enjoyed yours too!

Yeah I was listening pretty closely, if I remember correctly they said it when we passed a scene with a robot waiter? I guess it is pretty loud during the lunch rush hour there, when we had went in earlier to use the bathrooms it had seemed so quiet and peaceful! Thanks I love that monorail pic too, since I just realized today that I took it:laughing: Unfortunately the rain will be around for awhile in this TR:sad2:

Omg the coconut patties! I kind of wanted to get some but never got around to it. I love coconut! Were they essentially Almond Joy without the almonds?

Omg the coconut patties! I kind of wanted to get some but never got around to it. I love coconut! Were they essentially Almond Joy without the almonds?

Lol yeah they were pretty much exactly like that. My Dad loves coconut too so he had to get them. They're actually sold in the grocery stores where we live, but of course they're not Mickey shaped:rolleyes:

Wow, I can't believe your teacher got so bent out of shape over your trip. :confused3 Atleast everything's OK now.

I still have not tried a dole whip...:rolleyes1

Glad you were able to find ways to keep dry! Even if it is somewhat warm in Disney I hate being wet from the rain- water rides are a different story. Weird story about your teacher! I remember last year i had this crazy teacher for my preschool practicum class (It was a class where we got to teach lessons to preschool aged children, it was pretty cool!). She had her favorite students and unfortunately for me I wasn't one of them. I took the first 2 levels (out of 4) for the class and my teacher made it a living nightmare! She would give us these outrageous assignments and not tell us some pretty important details about them untill a day or two before it was due. Each level had a different semester project and the one I had for the 2nd level was a lesson plan book where we had to come up with an entire lesson plan about one theme. the kids in the first level of preschool had to do a scrapbook for the family of one of the kids. My teacher focused all her energy on making sure the first level kids were doing there project right (It was a scrapbook, how can anyone mess that up?) and didn't even talk to us or the level 3 kids about our projects untill the due dates. She never even made sure we knew what to do or anything. We eventually talked her into changing the due date by a couple of days but still that was completely unfair to us. We all were scrambling to get our projects done well and I thought we all did a good job all things considering. Then we got our projects back a few days later and everyone in my level and the higher level didn't do well on this project due to having no information about it and she was using an entirely different rubric to grade it than the one most of us were going off of. My friend and I both were furious and neither of us was doing very well. I told my mom about this whole thing and she at first gave me the whole, "Well you should have tried harder" speech but then she saw the comments my teacher made on my rubric (my mom is a former kindergarten teacher so she was very helpful when I was thinking of lesson plans for this class) and she was complaining about how unprofessional the teacher was being and was furious with her. She then kept telling me that this teacher was doing a terrible job of preparing us for the world of teaching. Granted this was a high school class so college could help us 2 but this class was meant for those who were strongly considering becoming teachers. The only reason why my mom didn't write a complaint letter to the school about this teacher was because I was graduating in a few months (I was in the class of 2010). The whole ordeal made me decide not to become a teacher. The reason I shared this story was to let you know that bad teachers really do suck and way to go for your mom to complain to the school. I can't wait to hear more about the trip report. :)

Yeah that teacher is really crazy though. She told us awhile ago that she accidentally takes her dogs medication sometimes... She's very very odd.
You've never had a dole whip?! I'm surprised! I thought I was pretty much the only DISer left who hadn't had one. lol guess not!

Wow that was totally unfair of your teacher to do that! That really stinks that the whole thing made you decide not to become a teacher :( I hate how one bad teacher can ruin things sometimes. Yeah I was glad my mom complained, I mean even though I only had a few months left at the time too, it still really upset my mom so I didn't mind. It was kind of awkward around that teacher for a few days, but she treats me with more respect now, even though it should have been that way before!!
Glad you're enjoying the TR, can't wait to share more!

wow, why would you just call someone stupid, good thing u wrote to the principal, i would have too :P, maybe you should sing the rain song "rain rain go away, come back in another day(or week)" lol. Loving ur trip report so far:)

Haha yeah I don't really know, I actually never really know what goes on in that teacher's mind.... I probably should have tried singing that while I was there! lol The rain just never wanted to leave that week. Glad you're enjoying it!:)

*Our photopass CD came in the mail today! I wish I would have known that we were going to be getting it, otherwise I would have pre-ordered it instead of paying the ridiculous $150:headache: But all the photos are really cute so I'm glad we got it.

March 28, 2011

After we got off in Frontierland from our nice relaxing train ride around MK I realized it was almost 3:00! You DISers know what that meant…

the 3 o’clock parade!

Now it was raining slightly so I wasn’t sure if it was still a go or not, but people were already lined up so we decided to give it a shot. We found some space under cover over by Peco’s Bills and waited for about 20 minutes.

DISNEYWORLDBIRTHDAYTRIP2011085.jpg

I was starting to get a little bored so I took a picture of our view...

I guess the people in front of us were tired of waiting as well because they spotted the stools in the outside area by Peco's Bills and started dragging them over to where we were. It was kind of hilarious but I'm pretty sure they weren't supposed to be doing that!:rolleyes1

The rain of course started to pour harder just as it hit 3. The announcements kept saying it was just going to be delayed. We waited about another 15 minutes or so then finally the announcement was that it would be cancelled for today :(

But all hope was not lost! It was rather confusing because after they said the parade was cancelled, the Rainy Day Character Cavalcade immediatley started!

It started right by us, apparently when it rains the Cavalcade starts the opposite direction on the parade route.

I was totally excited to see this as I had seen pictures of this little parade only a few days before we left for the trip and I had no idea what it was! I couldn’t believe I was already getting to experience it so soon :D

DISNEYWORLDBIRTHDAYTRIP2011086.jpg

DISNEYWORLDBIRTHDAYTRIP2011087.jpg

I LOVED their raincoats and boots, so cute!

DISNEYWORLDBIRTHDAYTRIP2011088.jpg

DISNEYWORLDBIRTHDAYTRIP2011089.jpg

DISNEYWORLDBIRTHDAYTRIP2011090.jpg

It was so cute, all the characters walking the route would jump in the puddles by the crowd and splash everyone:laughing:

DISNEYWORLDBIRTHDAYTRIP2011093.jpg

DISNEYWORLDBIRTHDAYTRIP2011095.jpg

Jafar’s cape must have been soaking wet, look at it dragging along all that water!

DISNEYWORLDBIRTHDAYTRIP2011091.jpg

DISNEYWORLDBIRTHDAYTRIP2011092.jpg

The princess car was so cute :)

DISNEYWORLDBIRTHDAYTRIP2011097.jpg

The double decker bus was awesome.

So even though it wasn't as elaborate as the normal Celebrate a Dream Come True parade, this was still really cute. I think it's great that they still give us something to enjoy for a little bit:)

After the Cavalcade was over, and after the "Trickle trickle, Splash splash!" song was stuck in my head permanently:laughing:, we went in to Peco's Bill's again to use the bathrooms. For some reason while we made this stop it occurred to me that we had skipped a must do in Tomorrowland...Buzz Lightyear!! So for the 3rd time that day, we headed back to Tomorrowland!!

Up Next: Will I ever get a somewhat decent score on Buzz Lightyear??

Wow, I never even knew they had something like that. A "Rainy Day Character Calvacade", sounds pretty awesome! Though it doesn't look like much I love the classic cars they used and I must hear the song you are talking about. I'll have to look up the parade on YouTube. Sorry you didn't get to see Celebrate A Dream Come True, that's a great parade as well. Can't wait to hear about your rainy yet magical day! :goodvibes Update soon! :mickeyjum

Hi, so I thought i would share with you that I as well have never had a Dole Whip.

I also was surprised by he rainy day character thing, it looks really cute.

True it wasn't a real long parade or anything but yeah the classic cars were really cool and the song was very very catchy! lol It all worked out in the end though, because we got to see the Celebrate A Dream Come True parade on our 2nd MK day.

Hi, so I thought i would share with you that I as well have never had a Dole Whip.

Oh my gosh you need to get one!! They are so amazing, if you like pineapple that is, lol. Yeah I had never heard about the Cavalcade till just a few days before the trip! It's definitely a cute little surprise parade:)

Hey everyone! Sorry I haven't updated in a while, I've been studying for my AP exams (which is hard to do when the DIS is right in front of me, and there are so many TR's to read and so little time! lol). But my last exam is tomorrow so I will certainly update tomorrow night:)

AP exams are finally over!!!:woohoo: It's such a relief to have them done, now there's only 3 and 1/2 weeks left of high school for me:cool1:

--------
Anyways we last left off with us traveling back to Tomorrowland for the 3rd time that day. We headed straight for Buzz Lightyear since we had somehow skipped it earlier.

Now if you read my last TR you know that I have a love/hate relationship with this ride! I love the ride, it's fun and I love anything space themed...but I can be a very competitive person and for some reason my scores always stink on this ride:mad:

I was determined this time to get a higher score than my mom!

The line went relatively fast and soon we were ready to take on some aliens.

I immediately started shooting as soon as we got in the car just to get some points off the bat. Well that did me no good as my final score was this....

DISNEYWORLDBIRTHDAYTRIP2011099.jpg

Pathetic I know....

My mother had indeed beaten me, her score was somewhere in the 100,000's

Well my parents really liked this ride so we got FP's for it later. We saw Buzz meeting outside under a covering so we headed over there to get in line.

There was a little boy in front of me, his mom was holding him, and the little boy pressed Buzz's power button as they were leaving and Buzz leaned over and "powered off"

DISNEYWORLDBIRTHDAYTRIP2011104.jpg

DISNEYWORLDBIRTHDAYTRIP2011106.jpg

Looking at how horrible I look in this picture makes me laugh. My hair was totally ruined from the rain, and you can see my sleeves are soaking wet all the way up to my elbows.

After meeting Buzz we looked over to see Stitch with just one family! As we walked over there it was literally just me and Stitch for a few minutes. Stitch was nice to hug on the chilly rainy day:goodvibes

DISNEYWORLDBIRTHDAYTRIP2011108.jpg

After we said goodbye to Stitch we realized we were right at the entrance to Carousel of Progress! We had never done it before and the thought of going inside where we would be away from the rain instantly sounded good to us. Plus I had been seeing the outer wall rotate all day and I had no idea what the heck that was all about!

Overall it was really cute, and DMom and I both enjoyed it (DDad slept through it:rolleyes:). I thought it would be boring but the song is adorable and so is the dog:goodvibes

By the time we were done with Carousel of Progress it was time to use our FPs for Buzz. DMom told me her trick of holding the button down on the guns and that really helped my score that time around so I was happy:)

DISNEYWORLDBIRTHDAYTRIP2011103.jpg

Still not great, but definitely an improvement from last time!

We decided we'd had enough of the rain so we headed for main street to make a quick afternoon sweet break before heading out.

I took a few random pics before we left.

DISNEYWORLDBIRTHDAYTRIP2011110.jpg

I just love this topiary:cutie:

DISNEYWORLDBIRTHDAYTRIP2011111.jpg

We of course stopped at the Main Street bakery to satisfy our afternoon sweet cravings.

DISNEYWORLDBIRTHDAYTRIP2011113.jpg

I had the chocolate muffin while DMom & DDad had a brownie.

I was sad to leave MK so early but I knew that Wishes and the MSEP would totally be cancelled for tonight since there was no sign of this downpour letting up. We were sick of the rain, it hadn't stopped at all since it started in the morning, needless to say the rain had finally defeated us.

We got back to the room and we all took nice hot showers and put on some dry clothes!

This was also waiting for me once we got back to our room:wizard:
DISNEYWORLDBIRTHDAYTRIP2011117.jpg

DMom and I went to the food court to refill our mugs. While we were in there, it REALLY started to storm. I didn't see most of it, but my Mom said it was completely white outside it was raining so hard:eek: There were reports of tornadoes in the area so we hung out there for awhile till it let off a bit.

For dinner we got a pizza from the ASMu food court and it was actually very delicious! Better than Domino's in my opinion:thumbsup2

DISNEYWORLDBIRTHDAYTRIP2011114.jpg

DISNEYWORLDBIRTHDAYTRIP2011115.jpg

The box was so cute:)

We watched TV for awhile then went to bed, dreaming and hoping for a much dryer day!

Up Next: Our A)wet or B)dry day at Epcot! Pick your best guess;)

---Just a quick question for anyone who knows photobucket really well. Is there a way to resize all your photos at once? It's such a pain resizing each photo individually. I know there's preset sizes you can choose from but I'm not sure what size to use? Any help would be great, thanks!

Aww, that is cute how they still do some sort of "parade" even on rainy days. I never knew that before! I'm with you about the rain. Yeah, the crowds may disappear but like you, we could only take so much of it. :sad2:

As for the next day, I'm going with dry (for the most part, if I am remembering correctly!)! :)

That's a good question about photobucket. I don't know the answer since I don't use photobucket a whole lot, but if there is a way to resize pictures at once that would be nice!! Hope someone can respond.
