Thanks. The thing that DS is most excited about is the fact that the lacrosse team will get a banner that will display in the school gym that says "State Qualifiers - 2007". I also think he'll get a patch for his letter jacket.
So what position does your son play? I know what you mean about enjoying every minute that you can. I will really miss all of this when DS graduates next year.

You sound so adorable in your Lettergirl Jacket. Now all you need are some pom-poms! :cheer2:
The banner is so Cool! Now, whenever your DS returns to the school for Homecoming etc. he can re-visit those wonderful memories!

Pom-Poms, got em - We (the Boosters) buy them in bulk and hand them out in the beginning of the season, at Homecoming and any playoff games. My Bestfriend and myself make total idiots of ourselves, while DH sits there quietly pretending he doesn't know us! My Brother and his wife drove over from San Jose, CA for Homecoming and everytime my DS was on the sidelines we would stand up, scream his name and wave our pom-poms like fools. Fortunately, DS has a great sense of humor, he would look up at us, hang his head and just laugh.

DS plays Right Tackle on the Offense. He is hoping to play both O & D lines this year since many of the big tackles are graduating. He currently lifts a combo of 850#'s and is hoping to make it into the "900 club" by the time school is out. He is 6'4" 250#'s - a gentle giant as named by his former baseball coach.

Pam:
So sorry you are not sleeping well, a little Vodka helps:rolleyes1 I know the stress gets to me and affects my sleeping patterns as well as I develop weird body aches and eat every thing in site!

Does Mom's Dr. in Florida think she can handle the trip? What kind of surgery is she having? (Feel free to tell me to mind my own businees, I'm just curious)

Hope DD finds the perfect bead, if not the pearls sound beautiful. She will look classy and elegant (not old ladyish).

Prama:
Looks like the weather will be in the 50's which is too bad since this past Saturday it was 85 and gorgeous! It'll probably snow or the wind will wreak havoc with all the fancy hair.

The latest.
A good friend of DS's whom we have known (along with her parents) since 2nd grade was assuming she was going with her current admirer. Turns out, at the last minute her current admirer asked someone else to go:eek: DS was furious! He tends to be a little protective of the girls and given his size he is very intimidating. I am kinda feeling sorry for admirer, he is a little guy who plays football and DS commented last night that he can't wait till they get their pads this summer so he can tackle admirer a couple of times for doing that to Jilted one:scared: DS extended an invitation to jilted to join his harem. Jilted's Mom called me yesterday to confirm that it was ok, my response "the more the merrier" we all had a good chuckle over the whole thing. DS's ego is pumped up beyond belief and he is so excited about his harem and all the plans they are making.

Right now, they are still planning dinner at a burger joint, they think it will be more fun to go fast food in formal wear than a "stuffy" restaurant. No skin off my nose, cheaper in the long run.

I did request that they all take a group picture, I think it will be a lot of fun and a good addition to his "Sr." page in the yearbook next year.

Well, that is about as much prama as I could shake up.

Hope all is well in your necks of the woods!

Jackets - Love the idea, but can I cheat and wear mine?
I have not even gotten it from the embroiderer yet - cool colors black and teal, not pink but still great colors! Our mascot is a Panther (We have the best mascot and colors in all of N. NV) I always feel sorry for the school that is orange.

Melissa - I hope you mean PANTHER and not some sort of obscene phone call guy who hangs on the line and talks dirty to folks!! :rotfl:

I'm thinking it will be a $75 to $100 trip, unless she spots some special that she just can't pass up!

I gotta go to Wally World tonight myself, although I am DETERMINED to keep it under $100!

Well I spent $209 on Friday so you all would be true Goddesses in my book if you were able to stay under $100. It didn't seem like that much stuff........but then it never does. It must of been the 60#s of cat litter that put me over - dang cats, they need to get a job! Eat, sleep, poop - freeloaders!

Cereal:
I love Cinnamon Toast Crunch(I buy the cheaper stuff in the bag, since DS will eat a bag as a snack), can't have it in the house or I will just munch and munch and munch..........

Candy:
When in the mood I really like the peanut butter M&M's and chocolate covered raisins - They could be added to the cereal and popcorn for a PMS style Trail Mix!
Don't bother with the grapes, it will just make the whole thing soggy.

Popcorn, not my fav, it always gets stuck in my teeth and I walk around for days with a fingernail in my mouth.

Are you guys Salty or Sweet?
I will choose something salty, spicy before I will go for sweets.

Your son sounds like a true sweetheart and gentle giant - EXCEPT when he puts those pads on!! :) That was a very nice thing to do for that girl.

At 6'4" and 250 he would tower over my "baby" boy who's 5'9" and 135 (good size for lacrosse; not so much for the gridiron). Sounds like he's got a good sense of humor to deal with your wild and crazy fan antics!! I think DS would ignore me if I did that. Although he DOES let me hug him after the game in front of his teammates, so that's a good thing.

I hope that the weather report is wrong for this weekend and things turn out better than predicted.

I think the burger joint is a good idea for dinner. DS and his friends are going to a Cajun place, which I think is a good choice because it's not too overly stuffy or formal. Plus, it sure beats spending $50 bucks a person on filet mignon or whatever!!

Salty and Alcohol . . .

My absolute favorite snack is Hot and Spicy Cheez-Its accompanied by a glass or two of red wine. :woohoo:

DS and I have always had an after game tradition. I go down to the fence where they all file out to the locker room and I always get an after game hug!

I remember last year when one of the Mom's hosted the team dinner, she said it was worth all the work for the hug she got since she doesn't get them that often. I mentioned this to the coach's wife and she whispered it into coach's ear (at the appropriate time I am sure) anyway, Coach (who is real big on family support and teaching his boys to be good men) decided that all the Moms should be getting hugs and told his boys that they needed to make sure they got their Moms down on the fence at the end of all games for a hug, and thus a new school tradition was started. DS says we started it, but he is glad to see that it spread. I actually get a couple of hugs from the boys who for whatever reasons don't have Mom's in attendance.

DEDICATED PARENTS!:cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2:
I of course, attribute it to my Peter Pan syndrome of refusing to grow up past my HS years...the BEST of my life...I know, sad, I have a great DH, great kids, but man, no stress compared to now. Biggest problem was wondering what to wear to the party you made sure you had an invite to! Back in the days when kids actually had time to talk at their lockers in between classes, social life was the priority, not like today where a GPA of 3.5 and a ACT of 30 STILL doesn't get you into school!
I am just the opposite, due to a chaotic family life, I hated every minute of High School, which is why I think it is so important for me to make sure my DS gets as much out of the experience as possible.

Life does not end with HS, it is just beginning, but it is something I think we all look back on and refer to for the rest of our lives.

Yummmmmm - have you found the spicy dill pickles yet? They are 0 points, salty, spicy and crunchy!

That is a great tradition. You have a great coach (and a great coach's wife) to make that part of the after-game. Awww . . .

No, I haven't tried those pickles, but will definitely have to!!!

Pam has been gone awhile, do ya think she stuck to her list????????

No - I'm pretty certain by now that this is an "over $100" trip. ;)

Let's lay bets ladies...do I get out of there for under $100?
I'll post when I return!Pam
Sandy, I hope you bet something good!
It's looking good for you ........ it is 2:35 PST so what time is that in Illinoise. 4:35? Do you think she broke down and got some yummy treats?
:lmao: :rotfl: :lmao: :rotfl:

I have no doubt. Probably some dessert to go with that chicken and rice that's been simmering in the crockpot all day.

Meanwhile, I still have NO clue about dinner here. What's cooking in Nevada tonight?

I took Costco's Chile Verde (pork w/green sauce) out of the freezer this morning. I will stop and grab corn tortillas for me (1 pt ea) flour tortillas for everyone else (too many points for me) add yellow rice for the family and I make a tomato/cucumber salsa that is yummy!
Garnish w/ shredded lettuce and some fresh lime, cheese & sour cream for the family (none for me :sad1:)
Voila - Dinner is served!

I never make dessert, but DH has an Oreo habit that he has shared with his offspring!

Okay, after reading this and thinking about Pam's preplanned dinner, BOTH of you are making me feel very deficient in the kitchen. Seriously, though, that sounds like a wonderful dinner.

I have to go "light" on dinner tonight because I had some leftover pasta for lunch today (it was yummy, though, so no regrets) and used a lot of WW points.

Given that Pam's been gone THIS long, I think that it was a $200 trip to Wal-Mart!!

I be thinking she might even exceed my Friday trip!

I thought since DH was in court that you and DS were going to the drive thru together? My DS and I like to go out once in awhile, it is kinda like our own "date". We usually do breakfast when he has an off campus class in his schedule. He goes to morning weights, then calls me to see if I want to meet up with him. My entire family shares the love of going out to breakfast.

I think you and DS should go out! You can have a couple of lettuce leaves and he can eat what ever he wants since he is a "growing boy":goodvibes

I gotta go beat up a couple of managers in a production mtg. I'll check in later to see if Pam has returned

Poor managers . . .

I did cook my growing boy a steak last night. May get him some Chinese tonight if I have the energy - if not, McDonald's or Subway!!! We have a Chili's fairly close by - I am a big fan of their Lettuce Wraps - 8 points, which isn't bad at all for a dinner.

Well, I'm outta here for now. Will also check back in to see if Pam has recovered from "Trip Wally World".

Have a good evening. :goodvibes

I return!!!!!!!!!! Sorry, went from Wally's to get DD from Art Club, DS from track, to the cleaners, unload wally stuff, unload kids, throw dinner on the table, homework, put finishing touches on painting of the living room, and now out the door to grab tickets for the midnight show of Spiderman...almost sold out already and my kids will freak...they do not have school on Friday...why? Who knows...
grand total was just under $145...but $55 was medicinal, so score! Basic was under $100 Yay for me!
Off and running again! I f I don't sleep tonight, I'll be shocked, I am ready to drop!

Pam

Congratulations on your Wally World total, Pam. I also went last night and got in and out of there for $31.00! So that was a victory for me.

Nothing to report on the prom front except DS thinks that one of the couples may not be riding with them - apparently there is too much "drama" going on in their relationship at the moment!

Bad news - my MIL just called here and FIL is not good at all. So I sit by the phone and wait for more information.
