Less than a week away...And I feel underprepared.....

Our first day there is Sunday and I'm feeling way more underprepared than I normally do...Guess the majority of it is with all the things that hung above us May planners - all those AK openings, DHS closures, Epcot openings that were up in the air until recently. I think I have everything straight in my head but it just feels a little more up in the air than our other trips. I'm sure it will be fine, but we are taking a family with us that has never been and I want it all to be as perfect as it can be for them!

Anyone else heading out soon and feel like they are missing a critical piece of info (even though you really probably aren't)???

I'm having bad dreams about it! We arrive Saturday afternoon and have a late Hoop Dee Doo Reservation. I had a dream that we completely forgot about it and just missed it all together.....my husband thinks I may need medication. :rolleyes1

I feel ya!! I seem to always have anxiety before vacations about what may go wrong, especially a Disney trip!!

cover the important needs/priorities, no way to plan for every possible minute or added uncertainty of special openings/closures, all you can plan is what I know certain now, not what may change at last minute. Cannot control for crowds, weather, breakdowns etc.... just have to adjust on the fly as needed.

We check in on Sunday. The only thing I'm still actively checking for is Jungle Book for our AK day on 5/27. I normally would avoid being there for any opening night of a new attraction, but our FP and ADRs were already done when they announced the later hours. So, I'm pretty anxious about making sure we at least get to see whatever is "new" since we will be braving the crowds. :)

It does seem that this trip has a considerable amount of uncertainty left, but I've decided to just assume that Soarin' and FEA won't be open and made plans accordingly.

I leave tomorrow early in the morning and I am quite sure I'm going to forget to pack something crucial. But this happens every trip so I'm not too wigged out. Yet. ;) Once I get there, I'll just go with the flow. I've gone often enough that I don't worry too much about missing anything so that definitely helps. I hope everything works out well for you and your friends.

We arrive on Thursday and I have been so preoccupied with the rainy forecast that I feel like I'm missing something. Praying for dry weather and soft openings.

Agreed!! We are giving AK a try on 5/27 too so I was hoping for a bit more info about that but since it's opening night we figure we are just glad to be part of it...We discussed and if we don't get to ride anything (FP are in MK earlier that day) we are just hoping to see the lighted tree and experience AK at night - so the bar is pretty low there for us! :)

I've been worried about other things and haven't really been checking the forecast - maybe I should. :)

This...be ready to change your plans if you have to. It's not the end of the vacation. We had to change our plans a few times a couple weeks back due to the weather. It meant our days were a little longer and we had to give up our pool day but it meant viewing Fantasmic in clear weather instead of a rain storm(and we got to surprise DS4 bc my parents were overlapping with our trip and we hadn't originally planned to be at DHS the same night as them so never told him).

When DS4 was too tired for MK EMH, we let him sleep in and went with a different plan. We had scheduled MK for 5 half days and ended up going only 3. The other parks filled in those other ones.

Oh, we by far are not over planners and can easily adjust our day if the weather or what not interferes. I was more stressing about making sure I've got all the new, different stuff down. I think my kids are super excited about catching the Star Wars fireworks at DHS for something new.

We will have fun regardless because of where we are!!

We also leave Thursday and I'm trying to not pay attention to the weather forecast. It's so unpredictable in Florida. I figure as long as I have ponchos and umbrellas the rain may just stay away. Or we'll just deal with it and enjoy lower crowds. (Note my profile picture)

I also feel like I am behind the eight-ball! I have the kids packed and most of the laundry finished but I have a lot of work-related tasks to finalize. I guess I should get off the DIS, lol! (I keep checking here in hopes that by some miracle there will be posts about about soft-openings for Soarin' or FEA. One can dream can't they?)

We head out in 8 days and I still haven't locked down our FP and ADRs. I mean I have a rough plan but I have way too many ADRs, still waiting to find out about the new AK things that will be there, presumably, during our trip.

We could be twins. We leave Saturday am and our first day in the parks is Sunday. I have been planning like a maniac and spending an embaraasing amount of time on the Dis board - and now that it is this close, I am panicking that I have not finished laundry or packed yet, and of course worried that something big is missing.

This trip was super hard to plan with all of the uncertainty and WDW through a wrench in my plans with putting Early Magic Hours on Tues am (of course the only day that we were planning on using extra magic hours - and of course the first time we are staying on site). We also still have the looming date of 5/20 for FP or ADR package for Jungle Book Show - that is not helping.

Deep breaths - we all have a wonderful time once we get there!

I'm right there with ya! We arrive on Friday and while I am thrilled to be going, I am bummed that none of the new attractions/experiences will be open for our trip. No FEA, Soarin, AK after dark, or Jungle Book (we depart the 26th). We will still have a great trip but would be super excited to find a soft opening or preview happening while there. Better get back to laundry and packing!

We arrive Sunday also and I feel totally unprepared. We are going with 11 other familes for a baseball trip and I have been the planner for all of the first time visitors (over half of the families) I have been so worried with their reservations and fastpasses that i feel like I have neglected planning for myself (I really haven't). So I have been changing my ADR's around this weekend and today still for no reason.

I'm glad I'm not the only one that has bad dreams about planning gone wrong!! My husband also thinks I need medication! Ha.

Frozen Ever After?? I think that is the name of the ride, but I am deep into my last minute planning brain so I could have the name wrong. :rotfl2:
Thanks
I just looked it up and
"Epcot
"Frozen ever After" ride==== FEA
Although everything I see posted about FEA says Spring opening--I hope Disney knows that summer starts June 20th.
