Legoland

One day should be just fine. Took us about 5-6 hours to see it all and ride almost everything.

One is more than enough I think. We went last summer and did everything and still had plenty time to wander around. We took four kids with us, 11 years old to 7. Its definately geared for smaller kids. We decided we didn't need to go back till we have grandkids.

I agree. We did Legoland this last January and spent from 10:15 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. in the park and that was plenty of time to do everything.

March will definitely be less crowded, but we went yesterday (Sunday). It was very crowded. AND Good Lord, this park has some sloooooooooowwwwwww moving lines. I thought I would need a valium to get through it all and I'm very accustomed to DLR. We did not see everything - not even close given that the lines just come to a stop for long periods of time.

When the boys were 6 it was just right for them. They loved the little rollercoaster. However, we went in Spring. It wasn't crowded but it rained and then many rides shut down. It was also hard to look at the lego buildings and stuff in the rain.

Anyone know how many days we would need at Legoland?
We will be going in March.
Thanks!

It depends on the ages (or more accurately, the heights) of your kids, and more importantly, whether you are a "stop and smell the roses" (or in this case, "stop and admire the Lego sculptures") family or a "we just want to do rides" family. We are more the former, and have NOT found it possible to do everything in 1 day, even in summer when the park hours are longer (although I'm sure lines are longer then also), and this was before LL added Pirate Shores, Land of Adventure and the aquarium. I think it is well worth an extra half to full day, and when you know you have that extra time built in, you're more relaxed about going at a leisurely pace / standing in lines / checking out the gift shops etc.

My sister-in-law and her family were just there a couple weeks ago and said they did it in one good day. Their kids are 10-8-5. They said it was fun, but definitely a one-time thing just for the kids. I do believe that if you want to come back for a second day, you can "upgrade" your ticket for an extra $15 before you leave the park. So if your schedule is flexible you could decide once you are there.
We are going in October and praying for good weather. The best deal I have found so far is coupon for a "child free with the adult" from the local Burger King. If you have a friend/family in CA or AZ they might be able to find you some.

"You can't have everything -- besides, where would you put it all?"

Our family went to Legoland this past June. It was ok. I would rate it below Knott's. I have a 4 year old son and there were some rides he couldn't go on yet. Although, the ones he did go on, he was having a ball. We really liked the Fireman ride/game (can't remember the name of the ride). Everyone in the family participates in it (one of the best rides there). Anyway, it took us about 6 hour to go through the whole park. Hope you have fun.
