We'll be shopping for a CHristmas gift for our 7-year-old great-nephew while at WDW. HE's very ionto anything LEgo. My question is does the LEgo Store at DTD have any sets/items that are unique to WDW?? Thanks!! :cool1:

I'm not sure if this is just at the LEGO store, but I haven't seen it anywhere else. Last year we bought our son (7) a LEGO advent calendar. Each day he would open it and there would be a new lego to assemble. It was the greatest gift he got! He ran downstairs each day to open up a new door. We were there 10 days ago - the store had run out at the beginning of the vacation and had some at the end of the vacation. I highly recommend it. Since DH paid for it, I don't know the exact price, but I think its in the $25 range.

They do have some things that are unique to disney... but mostly anything lego is here.... happy shopping!

I haven't been there in a few years, but from what I remember they don't have any sets that are unique to Disney. What is unique is being able to see so many of the sets all in one place. They have many of the neat Lego accessories that you can't buy in a lot of other stores (but are available on-line or from the catalogue). Things like the key chains, watches, pen sets, backpacks, t-shirts and such. Some stores also have the bulk bins where you can purchase a mix of specific pieces that you choose for a set amount (I don't remember the cost, sorry).
Also, they often have a lot of the models built and on display. Last time I was there, I was drooling over the new Star Wars sets, particularly the Millenium Falcon (the first one).

The advent calendar is a great set. I had one last year and am seriously thinking of getting another one this year (and when say "I", I really do mean just me. Yes, I'm 30 years old, live alone and really enjoy Legos.). You can find them in some stores or through the shop at home catalog (which you get if you're a member of the Lego club. You can sign up for free either using a mail-in form found in many of the lego sets you buy in the store or at the Lego web site.)

I was wondering about that too. My 3 year old has re-discovered his Duplos so I was hoping to get him something at DTD and get him excited about picking out a special for himself.

We have gotten our son an Advent calendar every year now for about 6 years. They are great and are on the website. I ordered it (mailed it) on a Saturday and it arrived on Wednesday. Very quick service!!!

We spent the $7 on cups full of legos (you pick your own). The cool thing is they have unusual pieces. Their kits were pretty awesome too! Our dd is still too young to figure those out but she enjoyed three cups full of legos. We have built a lot of cars and houses.

These things change year to year?
I was thinking of getting one myself.. :rolleyes1

Online it was $14.99 plus shipping at legoshop.com..came to $17 & some change

Don't forget to get the 10% off coupon out of the Birnbaum's book. I think ti's off a $50 purchase.

We just got back and I must say my boys had a lot of fun there.

My 8 year old chose three new lego mini figures. It was 9.95 plus tax. There are several bins of people parts and he put together what he wanted.
He made three ninjas with the springs in the legs or hip area. My son said those particular legs are from the basketball players.
So, he made his own and loves them!
