Leaving tomorrow...Can I put undeveloped film in my big suitcase?

And then on the way home.... how do I keep it from being damaged? Sorry, seems like such a silly question but we are leaving for the airport in less than 24 hours!!!!

The recommendation is that all undeveloped film be carried on, not placed in checked luggage as the X-rays will damage the fil and cause it to be cloudy.

I second to carry the film on. Leaving it in a checked bag is a no no.

Put it all in a ziplock bag and have it hand searched. Don't send it through in your carry on either. You can just pull out the ziplock bag and tell them you want it hand searched.

Yep - I agree.

I made this mistake on our trip to London over the summer. I had about 20 rolls of film in a piece of luggage that I THOUGHT I could carry on. Turns out, it was about 1.5 in. too wide and I had to check it. Of course, I remembered the film was in that suitcase after we got to our terminal and were waiting to board the plane. Ended up having to buy rolls of film in London and tossing out the film bought in the States.

Put it in your carry on!!

I had packed 10 disposable cameras and lost all of them because of the luggage being x-rayed. I had to buy all new ones at DisneyWorld so much for saving money!

I work for a photolab and we say put your film in a separate bag in your carry on and ask to have it hand searched. I've seen lots of tropical foggy pictures over the years!
