this might be a stupid question but do all rental companies leave the airport from the same car park exit? i've found a website with really good directions from mco to wdw and the directions start from the moment you drive out the car park, which is really useful for me and dbf coz we got lost as soon as we exited the carpark last time we went (i completely lost my bearings and we ended up looking at the map in a hooters carpark ). i know i'm probably overdoing it a bit with this but it would really help me and dbf get to the magic sooner and i'm just wondering if they come out at the same exit coz the pic on the website has a dollar sign on it. once again i apologise if its a really stupid question lol. Thanks everyone!

Do NOT worry about it. There are exit signs with DISNEY WORLD right on them. We take the directions out of the airport and follow the signs to disney world via the 417. toll road. Toll cost is 2.50 each direction.
You don't need a map. once you get near disney they have all the exits marked. take this exit for epcot, mk,. . . . It is very clear. On disney property there are signs all over. Even if you drive by your exit, the next sign tells you how to get back.

Take the South exit from the airport to RT417, follow RT417 for 11.4 miles to exit 6 right after the second toll, this will put you on RT536, follow that 2.7 miles directly into Disney.
Here's a map of the route.

Don't feel bad -- my DH regularly has trouble getting out of MCO. (He's a wee bit directionally impaired, poor thing.) The answer to your initial question is no, they do not all leave from the same car park, because there are two rental car parks, the one on the A Side, and the one on the B Side.

When you leave the car park (either one of them) you will be directed to exit the carpark ramp to the left (this is because the ring road around the airport is all one-way traffic moving counterclockwise around the airport itself.) The tricky part here is that there are fairly quick lane changes, and that can be a bit intimidating when you are still getting used to driving on the "wrong side" (or even to driving an unfamiliar car.) If you miss getting in the proper lane the first time, don't sweat it -- just keep the buildings close on your left until you get your bearings. The road will take you round the terminals in a circle, and eventually you will be able to get into proper position to exit on the correct road: which is the South Exit.

The internal road signage that you need to pay attention to at MCO is overhead signage, and no matter how many times you seem to be circling round the terminals, eventually you will find the proper road. What you are aiming for is this one (note the color):

What can sometimes complicate finding this exit is that you will also see smaller overhead signs at other points in the ring road around the airport that say South Exit but do not seem to be exit ramps: they are not exit ramps. They are leading signs that are there to get you into the proper lane position to be ready to exit when you finally see this LARGE orange South Exit sign. This can be really confusing if you happen to come out of the A side garage, because if memory serves, the first South Exit sign there is actually on the lefthand side (which keeps you from exiting the airport in the wrong place), but then, once past it, you have to move over to the righthand side in order to line yourself up for the actual South Exit ramp, which is on the righthand side of the ring road.

Going this way there are tolls on the road; be sure to buy a drink or something in the airport terminal and get a bit of change so that you have $3 or so in US coins for the tollgates, because not all of them have an attendant. In those cases, you need to toss the coins into the collection basket in order to operate the gate. (There are some gates that do have attendants, and they will be able to take US notes with no problem, but you will need some coins as well.)

wow that is so helpful, thank you!!!! hopefully it'll be a bit more straightforward this time lol :goodvibes

While I manage to get to the right road each time:) I do have to say that the rental car exit (and also when returning the car) is VERY poorly designed. I never look forward to leaving from--or returning the car to--the airport.

Just want to emphasize, on the 417 use exit 6 International drive to go to Disney. There will be signs suggesting going on to World Drive but there is an extra toll for that.

Exit 6 takes you straight under the Disney entrance arch and the just follow the signs to where you are going.

:thumbsup2 thanks, i was going to use exit 3 for all star sports resort, may as well save myself a bit of money lol

If you're going to All Star Sports, stick to your original plan to take Osceola (exit 3); it will cost you an extra 50 cents, but it will save you 20 minutes in traffic.

Your hotel is one turn off of Osceola; that could not be more straightforward. Getting there via World Drive is longer and more complicated. The 50 cents is worth it.

Hi,
Wondering what exit you would recommend getting of for the Caribbean Beach Resort? Thanks!

I would use exit 6, continue into WDW (2.7 mi) take the second right after the WDW welcome sign, loop around onto Buena Vista DR, and CBR will be 1/2 mile on your left.
