Le Cellier 2TS for Lunch and Dinner in 2013!

Based on the 2013 brochure it looks like it begins 1/1/13. I am hoping this is the case as we have a lunch ADR in Nov 2012.

Keep in mind that until Disney releases any information, this could very well just be rumor. The proofreaders of the DDP brochures are not the best in the business and it could very well be a mistake.

With that all said, I doubt it :p

It will be interesting to see what (if anything) changes at the restaurant. The signature dinner was slightly better than the lunch, but not that much really. It will remain to be seen if they improve it even more and make it a true signature style experience, or if they just sucker everyone into paying more for the same thing. (My optimism says the former, my cynicism says the latter, and yes, I am an optimistic cynic.)

wow....GLAD we are going in August and paying OOP.
We like lecellier, but Im sorry....2TS? Im not sure that makes sense.
If we were on the dining plan we so would be paying OOP instead of waste 2 TS. And we like it for lunch ...but its NOT worth TWO TS which are valued at like 45 bucks for an adult. I think...

If reading carefully, there are some other interesting tidbits in the brochure.

"Prix fix meals will be subject to additional surcharges" -- Now, they might simply be talking about the feast at Restaurant Marakesh, which is known to charge a surcharge. Or, perhaps they will start applying a surcharge to other prix fixe menus as well?

Notice, they have been going around nipping and tucking the value of the DDP. Les Cellier was a "great value" on the dining plan, and then they went and made the dinners (and now perhaps lunches) a signature meal.
The new Tutto menu seems to lack the high priced entrees that were great values under the old menu.
They removed the chicken & ribs combo from Cosmic Rays lunch menu.
They stopped allowing cereal WITH milk as a snack credit for breakfast.

Does seem like they are carefully going around, snipping out value where ever possible.

For 2013, a single TS credit on DDP for adults "costs" roughly $35 (normal season), so you'd have to get roughly $70 of value (incl tax) to break even for that meal (and that assumes you're breaking even on the 2 corresponding QS credits, which won't be that easy either... though the $3 snack that we use when doing these calculations isn't too hard! Maybe it's time we raise our avg snack price on them :p.)

I couldnt resist...had to start another thread since i just saw info about Le Cellier going to 2 TS credits at LUNCH starting 2013. Cant say im surprised. What a rip.

The DIS is now reporting Le Cellier will be 2TS for lunch next year. Do they report on rumors? I assumed they had received official confirmation or they wouldn't be reporting it.

The recent changes have finally started leveling the playing field a little for those using DDP & those paying OOP. At one time, there was a big disparity for some restaurants. Lunch ADRs will probably be easier to get now. As with all changes, this will be good for some, but not for others. I'm sure the prices will go up at lunch, so we'll all be paying more. I just hope the experience improves to warrant the price increase.

My husband still talks about the steak at Le Cellier 2 years later. He loved it so much. But I don't think we will be eating there again for 2 TS.

We're trying it out for lunch in October. Glad we are as I can't see using 2 TC for lunch anywhere so this is our last chance!

I just saw that myself! I was looking over the info for Be Our Guest! I have a question, we have reservations there for lunch on December 28th, will it still be one credit for that meal? I would think yes, but just want some conformation! We have never been there!

They're taking it too far - Le Cellier simply doesn't compare to the real signatures, from a food, service, or atmosphere standpoint. At first, the new dinner menu made a slight attempt at improving (thanks to interesting menu items like duck, venison, oxtail, etc) but since then, they've gone back to the usual chicken, short ribs, and pork.

Now the real question - will Le Cellier still be one of the top 5 hardest ADR's to get (up there with 'Ohana, CRT, Chef Mickey's, etc)?

Wait I was just reading this...

Per the brochure..the STANDARD Dining plan (Quick service is less -.)...
but for the Standard DDP not deluxe...

"As of January 1, 2012, the daily price of the Standard Disney Dining Plan is $51.54 per adult and $15.02 per child per child for most times of the year; and $53.54 per adult and $16.02 per child during peak season. Children under 3 eat free from an adult’s plate."

I yanked this from here..."DISNEY TOURIST BLOG.COM\free-dining-plan-2011-2012-cost-reviews-disney-world" WITHOUT spaces in domain

Soooo YOU get ONE TS ..one QS and one snack a day...so that 35 bucks seems about right...TIMES TWO...so 70ish...right...I know I dont eat that much at lunch...

I guess... ....you have to ask yourself..when you go to LeCellier are your adults getting 70 dollars worth of food for that meal....IF you are on the standard DDP. I would imagine the deluxe plan would be more...and you would maybe get appetizers (which ..are not inculded on the Standard DDP) ..

..IDK...

We went in 2005 and it was an awesome deal. None of this nickeling and diming .. everything to death. The last time on the ddp I Kept a spreadsheet of the amount I paid versus the food I got...and when I came home in 2008 did not feel like it was such a great bargain anymore. NOW it seems even less of a bargain for a family of four - at least for my family
