Las Vegas with teens

Washington may the winner!
Family likes that idea.
Leave LV for a future couples trip and NOLA for when we cruise.
Good plan! There's enough to do in DC to keep you busy for sure. Baltimore is also a close ride via train (or rental car if you have one) if you want to explore a bit. Enjoy!

:thumbsup2 I always wanted to do this too as it’s not a city we’d probably choose as a singular destination. If you find a great ship sailing an interesting itinerary, let me know. Most of the options I’ve seen are pretty mundane. :wave2:

I was dragged to Vegas by my family at 8 years old and 14 years old. They're the gambling and drinking to have fun kind of parents so no Vegas isn't someplace I would bring kids/ teens. My time was mainly spent in a hotel bored or at a local outlet mall.

Now D.C. is a fantastic choice! Depending on when you go in spring the Cherry blossoms may be blooming. I thought peak was mid-April to beginning of May?

Took my daughter when she was 15 and again at 18 to vegas- had a blast both times, we stayed 4 days one trip and 3 the other. One day we did a pink jeep tour to the hoover damn and grand canyon, the rest just things on the strip, shows, looking at all the hotels and what they have to offer, rides etc. Washington DC we also went to- it was just "ok" neither of us were overly excited about it and the area surrounding DC is trash. I dont think I would want to spend 4 days there.

Nah, the festival is usually something like March 20-Apr 10 or so - peak is normally around April 1...

This is why I recommend staying in VA...very nice areas in Arlington and Fairfax Counties which are some of the safest and nicest in the nation - it just will add a little commuting time and cost to the schedule...

D.C. is great, especially for the history buffs!

Vegas is fine with teens too, no reason you couldn't take them there. Each of those places are just different vacation-style place.

As for the cherry blossom festival be aware timing is critical and it varies year to year as far as when the cherry blossom trees are most in bloom. Just throwing that out there so you don't plan for a particular time period in the spring and then get disappointed.

I think they were acting as their own advertisement. At least that’s what I’m assuming considering they were also wearing bikini bottoms fishnets high heels and were caring leather whips and wearing dominoes or whatever those masks were and that was all they were wearing-

Ladies of the evening don't usually ply their trade on the strip. They might have been club girls or those that charge money to get your picture made with them. They do ply that trade in some of the more sleazy clubs I'd wager, however. It's quite illegal in Clark County and they usually roust them from the strip and to the detention center. Off the touristy spots, however, enforcement is far more spotty. Nye County, home of brothels and fireworks stands is the nearest county where that is legal.
