Laissez les bon temps Rouler...Feb 2010 2/20 MK Last part of the Night updt 9/70 pg65

Just wanted to let you know that this has turned out to be one of my favorite trip reports.

Thanks for the time and effort!

I've always wondered why ice cream makes me so thirsty. Glad it's not just me!

Mmmmm... a strawberry bar, perhaps my favorite snack in all the world!! :cloud9:

PP didn't do such a bad job! ALL of them look really great- especially the temple one! :thumbsup2

I'm glad I'm not the only one that wonders about this. Michelle prefers the strawberry bar too. I'm very happy with our pictures from this day.

Great pictures of you and Dennis! Charles and I don't have nearly enough pictures of the two of us at Disney. We need to fix that.

Yes you do need more pictures of just the two of you. Dennis and I took an adult only trip in 2002 and we got two nice shots on that trip.

Vanessa, It was very nice (albeit a little strange) meeting you today. Just goes to show what "A Small World" it really is!! I have really enjoyed your trip report and pictures. Now I just need to go back and do a little bit of catch up.
Julie

Julie is was great meeting you today. Danielle got a kick out of being recognized. She felt famous. I got a kick out of it too. Which show is your daughter doing? Danielle in Saturday night. We'll have to talk more at the next rehearsal.

Just wanted to let you know that this has turned out to be one of my favorite trip reports.

Thanks for the time and effort!

Thank you so much, this mean so much to me. We really had a great trip. I almost wish every trip was a surprise trip.

Love all the pics! The ones with the girls are funny. The photopass ones of you and Dennis turned out GREAT! :thumbsup2 Love Dennis' hat!! :rotfl: My DH is still talking about this HUGE cowboy hat he should have bought in Mexico/Epcot. He says he needs it for his "grass cutting" hat. :confused3 :rotfl2:

Ok, well I'm waaay behind so I'm going back to read and catch up.....

Blue! It's so good to "see" you again. Buying your DH the hat is the perfect reason to go back soon. Take your time catching up, I have links!

Cool picture. :)
I love to watch the animals.
It's a different experience every time.

We love these monkeys. I like it when they get excited and loud.

We talked about what Dennis and I did while the girls were riding Everest back to back, now it's time to see what they saw.

I have to admit, I have trained Michelle well. She did a fabulous job documenting their journey.

Waiting in line.

The end of the tracks.

Going backwards!

The Yeti!

Continued in next post.

Cheesy Shot!

On the way back down!

This is how I know I trained her right. She took the red-neck ride picture.

I love that is shows she was taking pictures.

On their second ride they didn't take pictures, just enjoyed the ride. Of course as soon as they got off we got a call that we just had to come see their ride photo. And yes we just had to buy it along with the cheesy photo frame.

They did a great job hamming it up for the picture, but I really like the expression on the guys face in front of them.

Up Next should we or shouldn't we? That is Kali or no Kali.

Michelle is a regular photojournalist! My favorites are the "going backwards" pictures.

I'll bet that she knew to call it a "redneck picture" too. It's obvious that you've taught her well. :thumbsup2

That guy in their ride picture is hilarious!

I'm so proud of her. She has even inherited my ability to turn any conversation to a conversation about Disney.

The apple doesn't fall far from the tree.

That guy looks a little constipated.

A Happy Belated Thanksgiving to everyone! I kept meaning to get on during the holiday weekend but just never really made it.

Things just got so busy Wednesday once I left work and just got away from me. I left work a little early and started running those last minuet errands. Even though I had planned ahead and done my grocery shopping on Monday I still ended up needed a few more things. Then we went to visit my Mom. After that I rushed home to start cooking. I really didn't have to make much since we traveled but I did have to make 2 pans of cornbread dressing, one to take and one for home. I did all the pre-baking, cooking and dicing. The next morning I had to saute' the vegetables and put it all together. I also had to make fruit salad. I know that doesn't sound to bad but for this recipe the fruit has to be washed and dried as much as possible. We ended up leaving fairly close to on time. We went to a very casual huge get together with my Dad's family in Eunice, LA. My Dad's cousin has a home on some property with some small ponds, horses, cows and sheep. The area is big enough for other family member to bring their motorhomes. Those members camp out for a few days before and after. There was lots of extended family! It was nice but different. We had tons of food, but strangely enough no turkey. They had 2 turkeys to cook. They had a broiler and oil but no one brought a big pot to fry it in. This wasn't discovered until that morning. My Aunt ended up putting a turkey in a roaster but I don't think it was done until later that night. We did have lots of pork roasts and rice and gravy. My Dad's family are Cajuns and I was raised on rice and gravy when I was little. Dennis is a potato kind of guy (he's not from south Louisiana) so we don't have it much. We also had a pig roasted on a pit. It smelled so good cooking. We spent the day outside and it was hot. I think it hit 80 or so. Some of us even got pink noses. When it started to get dark we made our way back home. We still had to plan out our shopping.

Michelle didn't come with us, she worked. She wanted money to spend on Black Friday. Two of her friends came over and we planned out our night. We all headed out to Old Navy for midnight. After that stop I headed back home for a few hours of sleep. The ended up at Walmart and them standing in the Target line for a few hours waiting for the 4 a.m. opening. Poor things, a cold front moved in while they were waiting. It started raining and the temp dropped. I think our high that day was in the 50s. Around 3:30 Dennis went up to meet them. I went to a different Target and got there a little after 4, by the time I found a parking spot several stores away and walked through the line to get in it was well after 4 on the way to 4:30. I wasn't there for any big ticket items but there was a few small things I wanted. Dennis and the girls were in and out before I even got in line to check out. While I was checking out he was taking them to breakfast without me. The girls went back to the house and crawled into bed. Dennis hit a few more stores and so did I. I was back home a little after 7 for another nap. I had to go to work for a little while at 9. After taking care of some stuff I regrouped and headed back out for the dreaded mall. It was extremely crowded. I waited in line at Bath and Body Works for 40 minutes. This trip wasn't as profitable as my previous outings. From the mall I hit World Market where I picked up some candy for Jordan and something for my daughter in law. Back home and back to bed for a few hours. I had to return to work at 4 but I was back home before 5. What an exhausting day!

Saturday was more running around. It started with going to pick up a moving truck with my son Brent. Brent and his wife Hannah were moving to Texas. Hannah has gotten a job at a lab in Austin. She started on Monday. She left on Saturday because she had to be there to finish the paperwork on the apartment they rented in Pflugerville (what a name). We loaded the moving truck Saturday afternoon once it was clear LSU was going to loose. He headed out on Sunday morning. My son is finally starting his real adult life. He reminded me this wasn't the first time he has gone away, he did go to college away from home. But going to college to me was temporary, he was home every few months. Moving to Texas was permanent. It meant he was really growing up. Hopefully he can get a teaching position soon. Hannah's job is money maker so they tailored where there were going based on her job. I'm happy that it is in Texas. She was looking for jobs much farther away. She interviewed in Chicago, Roswell and was even looking in Washington. Texas is just right. Dennis had tons of family in the Houston area. It doesn't look like they will make it back for Christmas, but I'm glad we had Thanksgiving. I do have to admit I'm glad to have my livingroom/dining room back. It will be my Christmas wrap room until Christmas. After that I don't know what we'll do with the room.

I had yesterday off too and spent the day trying to finish my shopping. I'm still not done but I'm getting closer. We still have to decorate, make goodies and do all the other holiday stuff.

So how far along is everyone else on their holiday stuff?

I wanted to share some of the cards I made and hopefully will be getting our after the weekend.

Hopefully tomorrow nigh I can get a trip update done.

Hey There!!

WOW!! NO TURKEY!!??:scared1: Amazing!! BUT, in my humble opinion.... ya'll more than made up for it with roasted piggy! My oh my! What a wonderful day!

Plenty of sunshine... ok, ok, it sounded good until here.

I LOVE your cards you made- they are all very beautiful- but my fave is the one with the filligree gold tree. So pretty!

You did have a very busy holiday weekend -- no wonder you weren't able to get on the DIS!

Thanksgiving sounds like a lot of fun! It was pretty warm here, too, but I don't think it hit 80!

Your Christmas cards are gorgeous!!! I love the one with the nutcrackers!

Trent had the living room, too, but his big old bed is still in there. There's a couch, a huge TV that I would like to sell, and two sets of dresser drawers. I'm keeping the bed for Jill and John to have when they are here, so I guess instead of getting a living room back, it'll just stay a bedroom/hangout room. It still smells like Trent. One day, I hope to tear down the wall between it and the kitchen (it's just an ordinary ranch house) and make it a big room with a counter/eating island where the wall is. Then we would have one big room to prepare, eat, and socialize in all at once. Now, if that ever really happens - probably not. There are too many things that need to be done around here to to do any wants. :upsidedow

I am glad you got to see lots of family and have a fun Thanksgiving with all of them. What does your son want to teach?

Hey!

This was the first Thanksgiving I can remember not having turkey. To be honest I like pork better anyway, just seemed out of sorts.

Thanks for the compliment on the cards. I really enjoyed making them. It's the best use of left over scrapbooking stuff, waste not want not.

Thanks Jackie! 80 one day and freezing the next. We hit 78 on Monday and today the high is in the 50s.:scared1:

Thanks for the comment on the cards. I love nutcrackers too. We have a collection that go on the fireplace. Hopefully I will get them up before the week is out. Danielle is dancing for the 3rd time this year in our local Nutcracker. She now has a collection of 4. One for the first year when I took her to see it and one for every year she had danced.

Trent had the living room, too, but his big old bed is still in there. There's a couch, a huge TV that I would like to sell, and two sets of dresser drawers. That room has been many different things over the past 11 years. When we moved in I was pregnant with Danielle so it was the storage room until we found a place for things. For many years it was Danielle's playroom. At the beginning of this year it was our computer/scrapbook room. Brent moved home in January to do his student teaching while Hannah was in Madison, WI finishing up her schooling. What use to be his old room was my scrapbook room, when he moved back home I gave it back and moved out. Brent & Hannah moved in in August once she was finished while they looked for their grown up jobs. It didn't seen right to put them in Brent's tiny room so I moved back into it and gave them the big room. Right now his old bed and dresser are still in there. Someday we would like to put up a wall and Dennis could have an office and I would have a scrapbook room and use Brent's old room as a spare bedroom. Deep down I still want a formal dining room.

I am glad you got to see lots of family and have a fun Thanksgiving with all of them. What does your son want to teach?

We saw lots of family and had a great relaxing day. Brent's degree is in Music Education. He wants to teach middle school kids, the ones just learning to play music.

Wow! Lovely cards! I'm impressed. :thumbsup2

Thanks Glenn! I'm real happy with the way they came out. I wish I had more time to make more.
