Lack of FP+ options

Did mine this morning for June 22-28, party of 2. Zero Tier 1s at DHS for any day, any time until the 28th in the afternoon. Shew! Everything else was okay-ish, had to take some later afternoons (Frozen at 4 at 60+1, FOP at 5 at 60+5). Hoping to do some moving up if this trip sticks. Didn’t see any BTMR, got Space and Splash twice in the early afternoon. SDMT was totally gone for 60 and 60+2.

Can anyone who has access please post a photo of the Tier 1s at EPCOT for June 23? I book tomorrow and I am trying to get a plan. I use The Dibb often but that is only so specific.

I have FP for that day at Epcot so cant show a pic of all options, but for a party of two I don’t see any FP for Frozen Ever After until 5:20. Lots of options after that. HTH.

Today was my day. We are visting EPCOT for one day on June 23. This is a make up for our Spring Break trip to HS which was cancelled (had the greatest FP+ lineup I could ask due from booking at 60+1 and refresh hustling). I got to make FP+ at 60 days and was hoping to get Test Track, The Land, and Turtle Talk as close together as possible in the morning to early afternoon. Well I could not be further from that. We plan to leave the park around 1:30ish to check into our hotel and return around 4:30ish to head to China for a 5p ADR at Nine Dragons so I had to factor that in for my day

I could not get Test Track before 6:30p so since China is right next to Norway I have adjust to do Frozen instead of back tracking the whole park (will RD Test Track and pray it is not down to start the day). That one does not bother me and could adapt but the other two are frustrating. I could not get a Turtle Talk before 1:40p which is nuts so I settled on Seas with Nemo and then got a Land that was as close to usable as possible to our plans.

I ended up with the following:

Seas with Nemo- 12:05p-1:05p
The Land- 1:05p-2:05p
Frozen- 6:20p-7:20p

These non-ideal times I believe are a result of two things. I do think there is some degree of FP+ being withheld combined with Mission Space filling so quick and Spaceship Earth closed it put a great deal of pressure on the next levels of Tier 2.

I booked my fast passes this past Tuesday, April 21, for June 20-23. AK day was June 23, my 60+3, so I could get a FOP for 530-630 early evening. I have not been able to modify it to earlier, but I will keep trying. Because, although I could not, of course, get 7DMT for my 60 day on Saturday, June 20, or ANY tier 1 or any Toy Story ride for our HS day June 21 at 60+1, I have since been able to get Mine Train for 630-730 that Saturday evening June 20, Toy Story Midway Mania for 145 Sunday June 21, and Smuggler's Run for 445 that same day. I don't know if people are canceling June trips (probably), but I feel a sense of accomplishment! What else do I have to do during shelter in place but modify fast passes!
UPDATE_just got FOP for 905 am!

There is a whole thread about the difficult fastpass availability.
To some degree, this could be an expression of pent up demand, but that can't really explain much of it.
We are now 60 days out from mid-June. A realistic scenario is Disney *might* be open but with precautions in place by then. Under normal operations, mid-June crowds should be a fraction of peak-level crowds. And even peak-level crowds have far more fastpass availability than we currently see.

The most obvious explanation -- Disney is anticipating running rides at greatly reduced capacity, and therefore offering far fewer fastpasses per ride. Reduced capacity may mean keeping empty seats between parties -- may also include more disinfecting between guests, slowing down the rides for a wipe down after each ride.

using the Dibb availability....
I'm posting this on April 14... I'm looking at June 15th, 62 days out. Touringplans projects this day as a 7. Under normal operations, a crowd-7, 62 days out, should have plenty of FP availability. FOP, Mine Coast, and the new DHS rides would normally be the only rides with real limits on availability. But we see some interesting things:
Magic Kingdom: Mine train has no availability, no surprise. But Big Thunder Mountain? It has NO availability until the 65 day mark, and that's limited evening availability. It has no morning availability until JULY 1 -- the 78 day mark!!! So either they aren't even planning on running Thunder Mountain in the mornings (in June), or they have reduced the capacity by so much that its booked so solid.
Further suggesting some rides wont even be operating in the morning: Monster's Inc Laugh Floor -- No morning availability. In June or July.
Epcot: Pretty standard, nothing "sold out." But Mission Space, Soarin, Test Track, and Frozen are all "afternoon only." Typically, you'd have morning availability plentiful at 62 days out. So again, a suggestion of more limited FP distribution than normal.
DHS: The height of absurd. 62 days out, there is no morning availability for any ride except Muppets. Saucers and TSM have very limited availability.
The earliest you can get any of the Tier 1 rides are 65 days -- No Runaway train, but evening availability for Slinky and Falcon.
The EARLIEST Tier 1 morning availability is 68 days!!!! How many guests are there that even have the capability to be booking 68 days in advance?!?!?! it must be very very limited FP distribution.

Animal Kingdom: Not shocking to see FOP sold out. But almost everything else is evening/afternoon only. No more more Safari available, no morning River Rapids or Expedition Everest or Na'vi. The only morning FPs are Dinosaur and Bug movie.
Want a morning safari FP? 64 days!
FOP -- 66 days for afternoon or 67 days if you want to ride in the morning!!

The point of this analysis..

Under our nose, Disney is indeed making plans for alternative operating procedures. They are clearly putting in place plans for the parks to operating at reduced capacity. All (or most) rides will be operating based on reduced capacity.

This creates a piece of the puzzle we haven't seen hints of yet:
With FPs disappearing 65+ days out... there will be extremely limited FP availability for offsite guests. If "attendance" is normal, and such limited ride capacity, you'll be looking at lines far far worse than Christmas.
But a crowded queue would defeat the whole purpose of coronavirus precautions. Plus make a miserable guest experience.

Seems inevitable that they will have to tightly restrict attendance.
Such restrictions will have to come in different possible formats:
1. Keep some resorts closed, cancelling those people trips, and thereby cancelling their attendance at the parks.
2. Keeping resorts open, but limiting attendance to on-site only, or on-site plus AP..
3. Like Christmas, have levels of closure, that are triggered at much lower attendance than Christmas. When 12,000 people enter MK, limit to on-site only. When there are 15,000 in MK, close MK entirely. (numbers are examples only).

Only with tight limits on attendance can they keep people moving through the amusement parks, when operating at reduced capacity and without clogging up the queues.

Thus, I see the limited FP availability as strong evidence that they are anticipating strict attendance limits.
We are booked for June 20 - June 27 and we got ALL of our Fastpasses for mornings except for the day we are going to Disney Sorings in the AM so intentionally booked for PM. We got all major rides we wanted except Runaway railway and Big Thunder. Including Navi and FOP, Test Track.

That's amazing!!! How many people are in your party? Runaway Railway is our big stress as we head into our FP Day (Monday)

Just finished up my Fastpasses for our (hopefully) upcoming trip. I had to be flexible with our days and times, which hasn't been an issue in previous years. I usually like to spread out the parks, but we are now doing 2 Epcot days at the beginning of the trip and 2 HS days at the end. That completely screwed up my dining reservations, but our priority was the new rides at HS. I was able to get everything we wanted except for FOP because we are doing Animal Kingdom earlier in our trip. Got Test Track at 60 in the evening, Na'Vi at 60+1 in evening, 7DMT at 60+4 and 60+6, MFSR at 60+5 in the afternoon, and MMRR at 60+7 any time we wanted.

The biggest scheduling difference for me this trip was that I had to schedule around specific ride times. In the past, I have been lucky enough not to have that issue. Since my kids are older and like to sleep in, this might be the best schedule for them anyway.

Another post to keep encouraging people-I have now been able to modify 7 Dwarfs Mine Train at my 60 day mark to 2 pm. I have always modified fast passes for all my previous trips, especially since having the MDE app on my iPhone, and honestly, this has been not only the easiest trip to get three difficult rides added that I could not originally get, (Mine Train, Smuggler's Run, and Toy Story Midway Mania), but change later day times for those rides and several others to earlier. Keep trying, folks. Normally I can't get Tier 1 fast passes added until day-of, or a few days before at best, but I have been able to modify much easier for our mid June trip. So, I surmise people are cancelling trips. But we will hang on until Disney cancels ours, or be in our happy place mid June, likely with more safety issues in place than ever before.

They keep changing the homepage links on the app. It cycles through.
