We have also had a couple of issues with getting pictures, so we don't have them yet, but they should be here soon!! Very exciting!

I will try to update soon, at least start the pre-wedding TR. Hopefully someone is still reading!

Hopefully someone out there is still interested in my TR.

We have finally received all of our pictures!! I am really happy with how they all turned out. We have so many great pictures to remember our special day with.

I am going to get my pictures uploaded and then I will get started with the TR.

Thank you for all of the replies everyone!

Things have finally settled down a little, so I am going to get started on my TR!! Part of me doesn't want to admit that it is already over (we've been married for 4 months now!!) but we had a wonderful day and I want to share it with you all.

Day 1 - Thursday September 2nd, 2010 - Travel

My father and I don't care much for flying, and I didn't want to worry about taking all of the wedding stuff on the plane, so we decided to drive to Disney (from Ontario, Canada!). One of my brothers also decided to join us for the drive so we had an extra driver.
I woke up early to finish my packing and get everything ready to go. My brother picked me up, then we picked up my dad, stopped at the bank and Tim Horton's (for caffeine!) and the gas station. We were on the road by 10am. We stopped a couple of times throughout the day, to get food and gas, but didn't stop for long. We stopped for dinner at the Cracker Barrel in Whythville, VA at 9:00pm. We were going to stop for the night, but we got a call and were told that a hurricane was heading inland in North Carolina, so we decided to keep driving overnight so that we didn't get stopped by it. We stopped for a little sleep at a rest stop in South Carolina at about 1:30 in the morning. We made it to Georgia for breakfast at about 6:30 the next morning.

Day 2 - Friday, September 3rd, 2010 - Travel

The hurricane ended up being reduced to a Category 2 tropical storm, and while there was damage, we did miss it.
We did the rest of our driving in the morning. We stopped at the Florida Welcome Centre (like always!) and got some orange juice. Here is a picture of me and my brother under the Florida Welcome sign.

We were all super tired so we decided to get a room for the night in Kissimmee (we didn't have Disney accommodations until the next day). After a lot of laughs and fights with the GPS lady, we found a Ramada to stay at for the night. I wasn't very fond of the hotel, but we needed the rest. We slept all afternoon, and had dinner at the Cracker Barrel once again (we don't have these in Canada, and I loveee their food!). We then decided to call it a night and head back to the hotel for more sleep. It was a great couple of days, with lots of laughs, and I am really glad that I had that experience with my dad and brother.

My brother decided to make his own bed in between the 2 other beds. And he slept quite comfortably there.

Dad enjoyed a nice read before going to sleep!

Up next, Disney!

Day 3 - Saturday, September 4th, 2010

So I got up super early in order to get out of that Ramada and get to Disney as soon as possible! After only a little bit of cursing at the GPS (we basically knew the way, but used it to be sure) I saw the sign…

I was so incredibly happy to finally be there! We checked into Pop Century for my dad and brothers room. We put all of our stuff into my aunt and uncle's room because the room wasn't ready yet, and we had to drive to the Polynesian to pick up my mom and younger brother and a few friends (who were lucky enough to fly in a few days early and stay at the Polynesian).

We all spent the afternoon at Pop. We had a nice, relaxing swim, and then went back to the rooms to shower and get dressed for dinner.

Once everyone was ready, we got onto the bus to head for the Magic Kingdom!! (my favourite :)) We rode a few rides and looked in a few shops before our dinner reservations at Liberty Tree Tavern. The food was absolutely delicious and everyone left stuffed!

We rode a few more rides after dinner, but didn't stay too late because everyone was tired. The bus line up was hugeeeeee, but the busses just kept coming, so thankfully, we didn't have to wait long before getting a bus back to Pop.

Day 4 - Sunday, September 5th, 2010

I am really noticing how many holes there are in the pictures that I took on this trip! Hopefully I can fill most of them in with pictures from my mom's camera. I was too busy enjoying myself on this trip to think about taking pictures of everything (bad bad scrapbooker was I!! lol)

On with the TR!

I spent the morning at the Pool at Pop. I had a delicious breakfast and then sat at the pool with a tea and my book about the life of Walt Disney. This is my idea of a good vacation lol It was very relaxing. I also spent some time in the pool playing games with the kids, which was tons of fun.

After lunch, we all hopped on the bus to DHS.

We watched the Beauty and the Beast show first. My moms best friend has never been to Disney and she loves B&B so we had to take her to see it. She loved the show! We also watched the Lights, Motors, Action show, and went on a couple of rides. It was so incredibly hot this day! I am not usually bothered by the heat at all, but this day, I was so hot I didn't know how to handle it!

We had dinner reservations at the 50's Prime Time Cafe. This was my first time eating here, and I enjoyed myself. The restaurant had a really cute theme, and the food was plentiful and delicious. I had the vegetarian ravioli - it was good, but I wasn't crazy about the sauce (or something that was on it lol it was a while ago).

My brother didn't want his picture taken.

My brother, and flower girl!

Dessert was soo delicious, and so big that it looked like I barely touched mine.
DSC03466.jpg

My flower girl gave us all a little entertainment outside of the restaurant as she danced around after dinner. She was so cute, and really enjoying her time at Disney.

*Cute aside - my flower girl (cousin) was with my mom in the car the other day, and she said "Debbie, are we going to Disney now? I want to go to Disney now". We have made a fan out of her, she doesn't remember just how long it takes to drive there, but she really wants to go back!

After dinner we all went our separate ways. I browsed some of the shops with my mom and her friend, and then we headed back to Pop.

Up Next -- DH finally arrives in Disney!

Day 5 - Monday, September 6th, 2010

Today was the day that DH finally flew in to Disney! I decided to stay at Pop for the morning while everyone went to EPCOT. I did this because I was in a lot of pain; I have a condition that causes me to have days where I am in constant pain (and it is made worse by being at parks all day!). So I figured that it would be best for me to just relax for the morning.

Michael flew in fairly early in the morning, and got the Magical Express to the Grand Floridian - where we would be staying for the duration of our trip. I had packed the rest of my stuff into the car, and my dad drove me over to the GF to meet Michael.

Side Note - It has been my dream ever since I first went to Disney to stay at the GF. This was the first time I got to stay there, so I was over the moon with excitement!

Our room wasn't quite ready when we checked in, so we kept the luggage in the car and went to get the marriage license. I had totally forgotten that it was labour day, so we got the office and it was closed. While we were out, I got the text message saying that our room was ready!!! So we drove back to the GF and started unloading the luggage.

We had a ton of luggage, but I decided to blame it on the wedding, not the fact that I cannot pack light lol We had this wonderful cast member named Hank take us and our luggage to the room. He drove us around the GF property because we had never stayed there before, and showed us where everything was. He was fantastic! Our room was in the Sago Cay building, and was breathtakingly beautiful. I was like a little kid! I was in shock that I was actually there! It was a dream that I had for my entire life and it was finally here!

Some pictures of the room:

Day 5 - Part 2

After I was done marvelling at the beauty of everything lol we went down to Gasparilla's and had some lunch. There weren't many tables left as it was so busy, but the food was delicious

DSC03473.jpg

After lunch, we left the GF and headed for EPCOT. We rode a few rides, and were about to use a fastpass for Test Track, when it started pouring down rain! We huddled (with a bunch of other people!) underneath the overpass just outside of Test Track. They had closed the ride because of the rain, so we wanted to wait and see if they would keep it closed for long. We didn't end up going on the ride. It ended up being closed for a while, and we had some important dinner reservations!

We weren't having a formal welcome dinner or rehearsal dinner for the wedding, so we decided to do the Illuminations Grand Gathering with all of our guests this night. Dinner was at the Odessy Centre in EPCOT. We all got seated at our tables, and were given collectible pins for the occasion.

There were a couple of people that were entertaining everyone before dinner. They asked where everyone was from and if there were any special occasions and that sort of thing.

DSC03487.jpg

We then ate dinner. There were foods from all of the EPCOT lands, and everything was delicious. One of my favourites was a rice dish with tofu and edamame.

The entertainers made a big deal about us getting married. They brought up all of the people celebrating anniversaries and had them give us marriage advice - some of which was not helpful at all (e.g., run now!) lol Then they had all of the couples dance. I don't have any good pictures of that :(

The one lady called me Kristy the entire night, which became the joke of the trip. Nobody seemed to be able to say my name right!

After dinner, Minnie and Goofy showed up! The kids got to dance with the characters, and then we got to take some pictures with them.

When Minnie and Goofy left, we all went outside and got to go into a special area to watch Illuminations! It was really nice to be there with all of our family and friends watching that great show!

For some reason I have no fireworks pictures on my photobucket, but you are all familiar with the show.

Day 5 - Part 3

I am trying to break these updates into pieces so that they don't get eaten up before I get a chance to post!

So after Illuminations, everyone headed back to their resorts. We decided to sit in Mizner's lounge and have a drink when we got back. It was really quiet in there and we had a nice window seat. It was really romantic!

Next, we headed back to our room, and found a couple of surprises.

There was champagne, with a rose, and a card signed by the characters.

And our turndown service, which I loved!

It was a nice little bit of magic to end a very magical day. Then it was off to bed, it was a long day!

Day 6 - Tuesday, September 7th, 2010

This is where the TR is going to thin out a little. My journalling basically stops so I have to go from memory and photos lol

I got up early this morning before DH was awake and took some pictures outside on our balcony.

DSC03519.jpg

We had dinner reservations at the Whispering Canyon Cafe and neither of us had eaten there before. Almost everyone had a milkshake to start and they were quite good! Most people also had the unlimited skillet of meat - they all said it was really good. I ate the vegetarian pasta and it was really good too.

After dinner, our waitress came out with 2 chefs hats with "Love Birds" on them, and 2 glasses of champagne (which was really apple juice because she didn't know if we were old enough to drink lol). The waitress announced to the whole restaurant that we were getting married on Thursday, and had us kiss for 10 seconds while everyone sang and applauded. She initially called me Kristy, and I couldn't believe that my name was wrong again, but I found out later that my family told her to call me Kristy as a joke. Silly family haha It felt a little silly, but it was a nice bit of magic.

Our flower girl also had a great time playing with the Lincoln Logs, and riding around the room on the horse on a stick. We were so proud of her for giving the horse back without being upset, but she really wanted to ride it some more!

DSC03528.jpg

After dinner, we all sort of separated. Michael went with his brothers and groomsmen out to do some guy stuff. And I went to DTD with my brother and my cousins. I was the only one who bought anything, but we had a good time walking around at night, going into all of the shops.
