Hi everyone,

We will be down in WDW this December. There will be 10 of us 6 adults, and 4 kiddies, 9 and 7 year olds. Which would you recommend to eat at?

For dinner, Ohana is a great place to eat with a large party especially with kids as they have kids activities during dinner. That age group should very well enjoy the coconut races, hola hoop contest and dancing hooky style.:thumbsup2

Kona is also good but with a large party I definitely lean toward Ohana.:thumbsup2

Hi well first of I think you mean Ohanas and Kona. Yep they are both that good. Well Ohanas does offer a very unique dining exp(supper) at WDW also they are better suited to bigger groups at Ohanas.

Really Cdnkaydee, correcting other posters spelling? I'll have to make sure to proof read closer, lol.

For a group we prefer Ohana, we got a big round table and we could all talk.

Actually, we just prefer Ohana. Thought Kona was great but the whole experience was fun and kids kept occupied and the food great on our last trip to Ohana. The ambiance at Kona was just OK though the food and service were very good.

I just recently went to Disney World for the first time in March and my big group and I ate at Ohana's, it was awesome great food and is good for large groups....and at supper time there are activites going on for little kids which is fun....I really enjoyed Ohanas when I go to Disney next that the first place im going to go eat at for supper. Iv never been to the other place but I think Ohanas is the place to go.

Well actually sweets I was not correcting anything. The post title was Ohanas or Konas. What I said was I think you mean Ohanas and Kona.Yep there both that good. As in do both.
All so eye prefur incoreruct litter ration soolong as i get my point across.

Just down there and got back late Sat. O'Hana's would be best choice for the party. We ate breakfast there and very good. Beautiful and also roomy for party size groups.:cool1:

I'll chime in w/ everyone else, not even a close call, Ohanas.

Been to both!
Like Both, more "fun" at Ohana's but Very similar food at both, both good service UNLESS from experience you are getting a LATE reservation at Ohana. Then personally I would Skip Ohana over Kona.
The dessert at Konas is great for kiddo's, an Ice Cream thing, nice presentation for sure.
We love Ohana's but again, Timing seems to be an issue there, if its late dinner, I say avoid it....service goes downhill fast...at least thats been experience with my family ...and Poly is just beautiful too......

I love 'Ohana and Kona and ideally eat at both each trip. 'Ohana has entertainment, and the atmosphere probably suits the nature of your group a bit better. Kona is casual, but it's not directly geared at children the same way. I typically prefer a traditional menu to family-style service, and the food at Kona is more creative.

I recognize I probably did not make your decision much easier, primarily because I'm not entirely sure what I would do in your situation. It seems to depend on my mood. At this exact second, 4 p.m. on April 21, I would rather eat at Kona. Ask me again in two hours and my opinion may change.

Kona had the better food in my opinion but Ohana's is darn good as well. For kids I'd pick Ohanas as its more of a kid friendly atomosphere with kids activities going on in the evenings.

I would say 'Ohana only because the kids will enjoy it more, but I think the food & dessert choices are better at Kona.

We love both but I would agree with 'Ohana for a large party especially ones with kids. They are really set up well to handle large groups and entertain kids.

I would agree that food choices are better at Kona, but dessert choices... NO WAY!!!! Who needs a choice when you have 'Ohana Bread Pudding for dessert. The only choice is whether to order 2 or 3 servings.:rotfl2:

I always feel like the odd person out on the "Ohana vs. Kona" threads. :duck: I would choose Kona a million times over Ohana. Ohana is definately more lively in terms of atmosphere..but in terms of food quality, Kona is much, much better.

If you want good food, I would say Kona. If you want entertainment for the kids, I would say Ohana. When we went to Ohanas, the food was the worst I have ever had at WDW!! The meat was dry, bland and tough. I will not go back. Kona is a family restaurant, they just didn't have fun activities for the kids.

OOPS, my bad. :flower3:Sorry.

Ditto ! Ohana has dumbed down thier menu over the years, IMO Just not the same. If you have nothing from the past to compare it with then you will like Ohana for the kids ....
